Kim and Carlo's Hotdog Cart

Glad I stopped here for a genuine taste of Chicago before our visit to the aquarium! Normally speaking $7 for a hot dog might seem expensive but these Chicago style dogs are topped to the brim and loaded with banana peppers, tomato, relish and onion that comes together for a delicious meal on the go. The folks behind the counter were excellent too, they told us about a shady little spot across the street where we could enjoy our dogs and beat the heat. If you are walking by, don't miss out on this unassuming stand, it is great!

Amazing hot dog that I really enjoyed (and I don't usually like hot dogs). All the vegetable toppings really made it taste fresh. And the view you get while eating it was amazing. The polish hot dog was the best version!

A great quick stop for lunch in-between stops at museums. They are locatef right by the field museum, across from sheds aquarium. Hot dog was good. I do feel it is a little pricey at $7 a hot dog but cheaper than eating in the museums and on par for being in Chicago. Combos which include a bag of chips and a pop are $10-$12. There is a nice grassy area close by with shade and picnic tables you can sit and enjoy your meal.

Located near Shedd aquarium and Chicago field museum. Their chicago style with all the toppings was so delicious, i went back the next day to try out their Polish sausage, equally good! If you can't take spicy, opt out the sport peppers.

This place is right opposite the Shedd Aquarium, which makes it an easy and quick pit stop before or after the museum visit. I asked for Vegan Hot Dog which had the ‘dog’ made of wheat. I had never heard of a wheat dog. Usually it’s either soy, tofu or veggie made. Rest of the flavors were okay. What I found confusing in the menu was the inconsistent marketing around the cart. At one place they have mentioned ‘Vegan Hot Dogs’ and at another ‘Vegetarian Hot Dogs’. Vegan and Vegetarian are different, and hence it’s important to clarify which one, exactly, is available. Good news: they accept digital payments of all kinds. My Vegan Hot Dog costed $7.28 ($7 + $0.28 tax). It was an average portion, which acted as a fulfilling snack in place of a proper meal for me.

They have amazing vegan dogs; they know how to cook them! (Not all places do and they end up dry and chewy lol). I love their lunch special for a vegan dog, chips and pop- great price! They are my favorite treat before heading home after walking on the lakefront during my lunch break. Perfect location for those visiting the lake trails, Field Museum, Planetarium or Shedd Aquarium.

We are from Kansas City, and when we come to Chi-Town , true hotdogs are a must. You can go wrong g with Kin & Catlo's cart because they have turkey, traditional and even gluten-free options. The only thing they are missing is a dairy free option. Other than the service not being super friendly this time around this is a must have for anyone!
