Google
Kim Kee is one of among many Chiu Chow soup noodle establishments in the area. It’s characterized by an extensive menu, fast service, reasonable prices and endless customizations. We sampled all the popular combinations of soup noodles and everything’s solid and good. It’s not the best I’ve ever had and pales against my fave noodle spots in San Francisco like Hai Ky Mi Gia or Thai Nghiep Ky Mi Gia. The broths come out just a little more lukewarm and a little less flavorful. Value is there though parking is very challenging. The kidney side dish is excellent though. Credit cards accepted for a 4% fee so cash preferred. Dining is indoor only and walk in only.

Google
This place has a ridiculous amount of noodles—enough for two people, for real. The Fukien and Mei Wong are my go-to, with that fried shrimp cracker on top for some extra crunch. So much wonton and meat, too

Google
Their chow fun with gravy was super good. I preferred that over my soup dish, but my partner loved the soup and noodles! Wait was like 20 min on a weekend and the inside is small and packed. Food comes out quick; just wave the servers down and write your name on the board when you line up.

Honestly I hate to write reviews for places I truly love and hold dear to my heart. Because I dont want it to be overpopulated with people and get too over hyped!! But I also want them to stay around for a while so I guess I am writing a review! This hole in a wall place sells the most delicious noodles. Their #1 special with variety of meat is delicious and I highly recommend trying it. You can choose noodles to your liking - i personally love their thin egg noodles, but the world is your oyster! I do recommend bringing some cash, they have limited parking in the back but honestly street parking isn't bad around the area. I always come here for comfort food, and it always hits the spot!!!!! my all time favorite noodle place I been neglecting to leave review but now am because i felt its time the world need to know what an amazing place this is! they have booths and tables, + hot tea is always a bonus yes bathrooms too

Update: Rainy chilly day in LA. All good. I'm so glad I have Kim Kee Noodles. Update: The best period! Update: I eat Kim Kee once a week and I am not ashamed to admit it!!!!! Update: Had the noodles dry for the first time..... i am keeping it with soup inside. It was greta but i like the soup inside better! This is one of the greatest noodle spots around and I've tried many many!!!!! Love the fact that you have the option of pho or egg noodles, skinny or thick and soup inside or out. It all makes a nice taste difference!

Solid comfort food. Very similar to what people would make at home.

Google
Not a bad place if you are looking to get noodle soup in the early morning. We ordered their Hu Tieu style soup and it tasted great. We didn't like the omelette that much. It was a bit oily and not that much flavor to it. If you don't like eating soup, I recommend getting their chow fun seafood combination. It the thick white noodles that comes in a gravy sauce. Recommend!

Google
I had Fish & Chicken Egg Noodle for lunch, it tastes very nice and a lot of flavors. 100% recommended to all.

Yelp
Second whoever said SF's Thai Nghiep Mi Gia is better. This was solid but the dry chiu chow noodles were a bit too vinegary and I ended up dipping them into the side broth to finish overall rly fast and efficient service. would come again and get the soup version 3.5/5

Yelp
Kim Kee is well known for their noodles: fried, served with broth, and different types of noodles. Price point is affordable and I definitely enjoyed the stir fried thick noodles special. It was super hot and delicious.

Yelp
We ordered beef noodle soup and chive pancake to go. Beef noodle soup was so so, very little soup. Chive pancake wasn't what I'm used to when I go to other restaurants. It was like dumplings and tasteless. Although service is okay and place is clean. Kind of disappointed.

Yelp
First time coming to this chain, was excited because I wanted a hot noodle soup. Came around noon on a Wednesday, it was packed but service was still quick and we were seated within 5 minutes. Ordered the #1 with rice noodles. The soup was the best part, very comforting , savory but light. Next time I would like to get the flat noodles. My sister got a spicy beef noodle dish, it was delicious too. Would come back again with my mom!

Yelp
A staple restaurant of MPK and the SGV for years. Been frequenting here for the longest of times, so today finally dropping a review! My go to noodles here are the Fukien Noodles and Wonton Noodles but everything on the menu is also fantastic! Come here for lots of noodles! Each bowl is jam packed with too much noodles. Enough to feed two people per bowl honestly. The Fukien and Mei Wong noodles is probably one of my favorites. Fried shrimp cracker on top adds some extra crunch to my noodles. Wonton and meat comes loaded into the noodle bowls. I highly recommend everyone to stop by for that old school Asian noodle house environment. Place is always packed and has lines waiting out the door. Maybe just order for pickup or go at off dining hours. They finally accept credit cards here too!
google avatar

Iris L.

Yelp
Who would have thought a somewhat outdated looking restaurant turned out to have some of the best noodles in SGV. I can't remember how many times I have passed by this place and now I truly regretted it. I ordered #1. There were a lot of ingredients in the noodles. The shrimps were fresh. The fishballs were good. The soup was not overly salty and the noodle was at a good proportion with a reasonable price. I can see why this place is popular. Even though there may be a wait, the servers work really hard to clean the table and the wait wasn't long. I have introduced this place to my other friends and now they start coming frequently too. So would I come back? 100% yes!

Yelp
Always love my comfort food and with which friendly service from the waitresses. Knew exactly what I wanted and didn't have to worry about getting my stomach filled with lots of needed noodle soups/meals at any time. Loud as always but the love is there!

Yelp
A childhood favorite, growing up in a Chinese Vietnamese household, this is the ideal comfort food! I have fond memories of this spot for their Hu Tieu, I'm happy to see them still doing well. There is a small parking lot available, but I prefer to park on the street since it's easier. They have plenty of tables for sit-down, my family prefers to get take-out. You can pay with card, but there is a charge. Thus, we pay with cash. I always order the #26 Fujian Shrimp & Pork Mei Wong. This comes with the sliced pork and shrimp, minced pork, shrimp cracker, half egg noodles, and half rice noodles with soup on the side. The portions are very generous and I love the thick egg noodles that they use. They also include a chili sauce and jalapeño sauce, I dump it all into the soup and mix it for some spicy flavors. If you love noodle soup and haven't given this type of noodle soup a try yet, definitely give them a visit and get the #26!

Yelp
First time at this location and it's just as good as the rest. No wait quick service and noodles come out piping hot. Hot noodles with blasting ac on a hot summer day is hard to beat !!
google avatar

Pauline N.

Yelp
I've only had Hu tieu in OC but this one beats all the Hu tieu I've tried before. The broth is super flavorful and garlicky. My bf said his favorite item is the pork liver side dish.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is busy! We went on a Saturday and waited for about half an hour to get our table. The noodle bowls are very tasty. I love their pork kidney dish. You can also place take-out order. The place is crowded or cozy, not small though. It is an authentic Chinese eatery. It is quite loud. Food comes out very fast. And the turnaround on tables is fast as well.

Yelp
I visited the restaurant yesterday based on the Yelp good reviews . This is a very popular restaurant blocks from my dad's house . I am so happy that it has my favorite dish pork kidney, which I believed it's one of their high lighted items . The kidney was poached perfectly tender and doesn't have much its odor . It's served with bean sprouts underneath and topped with ginger soy sauce, which brings a very good flavor. The pork shrimp noodle soup and fried donuts also represented traditional authentic Vietnamese or HK street style food I believed. I loved the housemade table sauce ! The only negative issue was that the MSG , which is used by most Chinese restaurants really gave me a headache and thirsty after the meal ! But overall it's a good place for a quick casual meal !

Yelp
I love this place. It's definitely remind me of my childhood when I walk through the door. This is the OG noodle spot. I love the noodle soup dish. I always have to get half big rice noodles and big egg noodles cause I just can't choose. Everything always comes out yummy. I do love getting their sweet soy sauce rice cakes with eggs. It's a good combination with the noodles. Another great combination is getting their chinese donuts with a side of their satay sauce. You need to dip the Chinese donuts into the sauce and it's delicious. You get spicy and full of flavors. Everything is so good and comforting. The service is okay. The parking lot is small. Overall, great place for noodle soup!
google avatar

Glydia C.

Yelp
Non-standard wonton noodle soup. I guess come here for a spin on the traditional HK style but don't come here if you are looking for the traditional HK style wonton noodle soup, which I was. It's fine but did not hit the spot. Service was fast, the vibe is super casual, hole in the wall-ish. Parking lot is small.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp. I was craving some won ton soup early in the morning. This place opens early. Has street parking as well as a parking lot. I called in order. It was almost ready when I arrived. Friendly service. At 7:45am there were people eating at two tables. Interior is clean. Wonton soup was good 8/10. 6 small won tons, noodles, char siu, and ground meat. The daikon cake with egg lacked some flavor. I'll go back and try some other noodles.

Yelp

Yelp
TLDR: 3.5 rounded up to 4. Okay service. Hit and miss food, good pork kidney dish. This restaurant has pork kidney, which is what I came for. They have a fairly large menu. The flavors are more ethnic Asian cuisine, so for those expecting westernized flavors it's something to keep in mind. We ordered the House Special Pork Kidney, Beef Stew with Rice Noodles, and Chives Cake. House Special Pork Kidney 5/5: prepared with a soy oil sauce and lots of green onions. This dish is almost identical to when you order steamed fish at a Chinese restaurant and they pour the oil/soy sauce over it topped with green onions. The kidney dish looked small, but there was a good amount of pork kidney in it. Beef Stew with Rice Noodles 3/5: There was a good amount of beef and tendon. The broth was a thicker Southeast Asia style. I prefer Chinese beef noodle soup. This was okay, probably wouldn't order again. Chives cake 3/5: This could have had more chives and the "cake" part was not firm, but very soft and reminded me of mochi. It felt like I was eating a savory mochi. I wouldn't order again. It was busy when we arrived around noon on a Saturday and we waited around 20 minutes. There was no wait and plenty of seating available when we left around 1:30. The service was okay. They took our order and served the food quickly, but after that the waitress didn't come by again. We waited so long we took the check to the cashier ourselves. Not sure if that's what's expected. Some Asian restaurants are like this. It felt like a mom and pop restaurant and is older/dated inside. There's parking behind the restaurant or on the street. I'd be interested in going back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Chiew Chow noodles soup - noodles soup with a mixture of ground pork, char siu, strips of chicken, fish balls, shrimps, and pork liver. It was good and flavorful Daikon cake with eggs - this is oily and not pan fried evenly. Not sure if I will order this again Fried fish cake - too chewy and not good Next time, I will keep it simple and only order noodles soup because I never have bad noodles soup there before
google avatar

Philip Y.

Yelp
Never had this southern China ( 福Chaozhou, Guangdong) local rice noodle soup before. It was delicious and they include lots of protein inside. The service was fast but you might have a wait a little bit since they are packed with patrons even at 11 am on Saturday morning.
google avatar

Veronica W.

Yelp
Small casual Cantonese style noodle spot in Monterrey Park. We came here on a busy Sunday morning, waited about 10 minutes for a table. I came here craving egg noodles and the portions and taste exceeded my expectations! Never ending amount of noodles, perfect chewiness, clear refreshing broth, and yummy pork pieces and wontons. Everything was well balanced. Reasonable prices.
google avatar

Karina C.

Yelp
First time trying the soup and the broth was amazing, I need to go explore the restaurant and try other foods. My coworker brought me the soup and wow best choice. I can't said anything about the service because it was delivered but the chef must be amazing the soup as I keep saying is delicious I can't wait to go visit the restaurant.

Yelp
Still our absolute favorite Chinese noodles shop in SGV! They have hands down the best satay sauce and delicious broth. Their pork kidney is always so popular and sold out right away. You gotta come here super early to order it otherwise you'll have to wait until they have more in stock. Our favorite dishes to order here are their Beef Stew, Pork Kidney & Shrimp Dry Style Noodles Soup, and their #16 Assorted Balls with Seaweed Dry Style Noodles Soup. Sometimes we will mix the egg and rice noodles together, and otherwise we just order the egg noodles. However, we always prefer to order it dry style so the soup is separate. It just tastes much better this way and gives it an extra umami flavor. We definitely prefer this Monterey Park location over the Rosemead and El Monte locations. Not only do they have better food, but their service is awesome. They have all female servers who are very attentive, quick, and friendly. We rarely see a male server here, especially all the times we've been there.
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Reasonable prices, friendly staff, good food. Small seating area, limited parking! Better to go during non rush hours.
google avatar

Sunnie M.

Yelp
Busy noodle cafe. Parking is difficult and the lot is small and the restaurant is very popular sometimes you have to wait a while before getting seated. Iced tea is free which is nice. The sauces are good too. Their noodles are always delicious and consistent in quality, as are the pork kidneys.
google avatar

Vincent W.

Yelp
If you are looking for a Teochew noodle spot in the SGV area this is the spot to hit up. We came on a weekday for a late lunch around 1:30 so there was not much of a wait and plenty of open tables. We were seated quickly and staff got us water after we asked. Ordered a Number 1 soup with egg noodles and was very good and filling. The number 10 Satay beef was probably one of the better one's I have ever had as they used homemade satay sauce versus some type of commercial sauce. It may not have as much "umami flavoring" as some other spots but the texture and taste was very nice and mild. Basically you can tell it was in house made and not made commercially which I give a thumbs up to. There were a couple of tvs showing the Olympics since that is when I was there so that was nice. Overall the interior was decent and they do have a CC surcharge so bring cash or know there is an added fee if you use plastic. Would come back if craving noodles in the future.
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 5 for lunch on a Tuesday early afternoon and was seated right away. It does get busy but the place is run efficiently, so tables open up fast. I always pick the beef broccoli flat noodles. The portion is pretty big and It has the best wok flavors with a healthy balance of protein and veges. My coworker tried the dried mix seafood noodle and also recommends it. There's parking in the back lot if theres no street parking. This place is pretty consistent with their quality, and has the asian hole in the wall vibe.
google avatar

Julia H.

Yelp
A must try. First time here and I'm so pleased! Certainly will be back! Portions are large and the ingredients are loaded! I've service too! Parking is at back of the restaurant.
google avatar

Patrick G.

Yelp
It's been 10 year since I last visited this Kim Kee Noodle Cafe location, as I usually go to the South El Monte location. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and, as expected, there was a long line. However, the wait wasn't too bad, about 20 minutes before we got seated. I ordered the #10, beef with saute sauce and thick egg noodles. The dish was well-balanced, not overly salty, had a nice kick of spice, and was packed with flavor. I usually add a little hoisin sauce and some pickled jalapeños for an extra layer of taste, and it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful noodles, I'd highly recommend this place. Well worth the visit!
google avatar

Lana T.

Yelp
My dad and I would drive 40+ minutes to come eat here in SGV from SFV. The food is fresh, delicious, and hot. The workers are friendly and provide great service i.e. getting us water, tea, extra plate of veggies. It's a casual and busy ambiance. You know it's a good place to get your noodle fix when you see the Asians and their extended families coming in to catch up. I love how they have condiments like chili oil, vinegar, on the side for the extra kick!
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Always down for some Chiu Chow noodles. Small little restaurant with a few TVs and clean interior. The prices are decent $13.95 ish and plenty of toppings. I got an extra side of noodles but really didn't need it. The service was nice and quick. They do charge a 4% service charge for using card.
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
We got the assorted meat & shrimp with rice noodles, beef stew with thick egg noodles, you tiao, and sweet soy sauce rice cake with egg. My favorite was the beef stew, there was a lot of meat and the egg noodles were really tasty and chewy. The rice cakes weren't what we expected and we didn't love the sweet sauce that came with it. Otherwise, the overall meal was decent and service was fast.
google avatar

Chloe P.

Yelp
I've been to this place so many times that I lost count. I don't think they even need a yelp review because it's always crowded lol, but service is always fast. Foods are A++. Everything is good here except for the tiny parking lot. Sometimes, I have to park a block away and walk over. My favorite dishes are the combination chiu chow noodle soup or dry noodles with soup on the side plus wontons. Can't forget the "bot chien" if you have a big appetite like me.
google avatar

amy w.

Yelp
This noodle house has been here for as long as I could remember. I haven't been back for a while since I moved away many years ago but have been wanting to come back again. When I did, I think I am once again addicted. It's a small restaurant and it's usually fully packed. Wait is not that long, so it's awesome. They are still as good as ever. The noodle soup is all kinds of delicious. Many different kinds of noodles to choose from. Total nostalgia. Highly recommended if you craving for some hot, delicious noodle soup. I drank all the soup too. So damn good.
google avatar

Yelp
this is definitely a comfort spot for me as my family and I have been going here for years! it's a pretty standard việt/canto noodle shop w a large variety of items. I usually stick to the same entree (seafood noodles), but everything I've had here has been quite solid! my fav side orders are the banh bot chien trung (rice cake w eggs) and the fried fish rolls the service is good but keep in mind this is a no frills type of establishment - don't expect more than the basic amount of service (which is still decent imo). the restaurant is very casual. can get very crowded during certain times (usually brunch/lunch time on the weekends) with the line out the door so I'd plan accordingly. I'm glad they have a parking lot but spots are limited and sometimes can be a tight squeeze to get in/out of. overall, if you just want a solid bowl of noodles in the area, this is a great option! they also have 2 other locations in the sgv if you're closer to another one
google avatar

Gillian A.

Yelp
Hmm wasn't wow'ed by the noodle soup here but I can still see this restaurant being a no-fuss one for locals. Ordered the assorted meat & shrimp with egg noodles (01 on the menu). Favorite things were the cuttle fish balls. Very soft chew! Not like the standard (rubbery) ones found at an Asian grocery store in the frozen section. Meat was tender though some of the chicken in particular had an unappetizing metallic sheen. Huge portion of noodles but the noodles were a bit chewy; they could've used a minute or two more cooking time. Unremarkable broth; tasted just very salt-forward. Cash preferred as card transactions have a tacked-on 4% fee. If using card the server (unfortunately) brings the portable touchscreen card reader to the table (and the server did hover over me especially when the tip percentage options popped up on the screen). Just bring cash lol.
google avatar

Graciela C.

Yelp
This is THE PLACE for Hu Tieu. I've tried a bunch of other ones in the SGV but I find myself coming back here because, although the broth is full of msg, the extremely garlicky noodle dish and various fresh proteins does it for me. #26 is a go to, dry (soup on the side) since it has minced pork, sliced pork and shrimp and also the shrimp on a cracker for texture. $12.95. Personally I like thick egg noddles for extra bite, but for the gluten averse, ho fun is nice. You also can't go wrong with the #18 if you like kidney and shrimp. The Chinese donut is always BAD. Only 1 out of 5 times it's been fresh, but usually over fried and sitting out. Service is friendly, they started taking credit cards but there's a fee now. It also gets packed quickly so come early like 10-10:30am if it's the weekend.
google avatar

Kami H.

Yelp
The OG teochew noodle shop that I'll keep coming back for! The aunties and uncles are super nice and the food is just as good (if not better) than Kim Ky!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
My first time ever having Teochew cuisine and it did not disappoint. I was a bit overwhelmed and lost because I didn't know what to order and the menu is quite extensive, so I got the Number 1 which is the assorted meats and shrimp noodles. It is basically the combo of their toppings which you get if you want a little bit of everything. I especially liked that you got to customize it by specifying the type of noodles. I like the chewiness of thick egg noodles so I went with that. It was very filling and comforting, though I think it had a bit too much ground pork compared to the other meats, which I can understand from a cost perspective. Also, their youtiao was perfectly fried to crisp. Our group of 5 ordered 3 rounds of youtiao because they were that addicting.
google avatar

Kit T.

Yelp
I had better noodles; it was ok. For that price, you do get a big bowl to eat. However, do not come on Mondays because 1/2 the menu will not be made to order due to shí fu 's day off. So there's no chow fun nor filet mignon rice nor whatever right half of menu; sad.
google avatar

Maggie N.

Yelp
This hole in the wall noodle spot is my families favorite spot to go to. It's a small little noodle spot but always busy! I always like my soupy noodles and I always get half thick egg noodles and half thick rice noodles. The satay here is the best and you can't have the noodles without it! My mom would buy some home so we can have with noodles when we eat at home. This is definitely a comfort food spot for me!
google avatar

Nancy Q.

Yelp
Casual intimate restaurant serving Teo Chow food. Open very early, great for brunching. I love the noodles. My favorite is the seafood noodles, I do half egg noodle and half rice noodle with the soup on the side. I love adding their condiments. The house satay sauce and the pickled peppers are my favorite. The service is very very fast! There is a small parking lot in the back and plenty of street parking.
google avatar

Jenny R.

Yelp
My sister and I always get the same dishes when we come here. This place is usually our go to for a nice heaping bowl of Noodles soup. Today the food didn't meet our normal expectations. The broth tasted watered down and needed salt for sure. The dipping sate sauce that is usually the bomb was bland. I don't know what happened but please keep it old school. Don't fix what isn't broken please!!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. From day one, the noodle soup has always been consistent. What I didn't realize before is that if you opt for the hu tieu, you can ask for extra noodles for about $.45 (I think). They basically give you another bowl full of noodles with broth. So if there's 2 people, this is the move. Order extra noodles and then order some other dish. This will save you at least $12.50 for another bowl. They have a private parking lot, but I don't really bother because it's usually full and hard to turn your car around or back up if it's full. Since the turn around time is pretty quick, there's not a long wait. Unless there's a lot of parties in front of you.
google avatar

Liliana D.

Yelp
Was honestly really good and worth the drive! I typically go to ktown since I'm that side of town. The price and quality definitely worth it I spend a total of 15 dollars with tax and no additional drink or sides was perfect size and amount I got full and was delicious.

Yelp
I'm quite particular and have high standards when it comes to eating Chinese food of any kind as I lived in China for five years. This place we kind of stumbled into as we went to a restaurant down the street and they didn't have any tables. We came here and we were lucky to get table despite it being very busy. I ordered the #21 which is called House Rice Noodles. It was a solid bowl of noodles. You can pick which kind of noodles you want inside your soup. I picked the thin egg noodles as that's what waitress recommended. It was better than I expected and an explosion of flavors. My wife and son ordered #61 which is Sweet Soy Sauce Beef Chow Mein. You can't go wrong with this dish as everyone at our table enjoyed sharing this one. I would definitely order it again. My Father in Law order #46 which is Beef Stew w/steamed rice. It was solid also very good. We also ordered an appetizer called Frish Fish Roll. Yes, you are reading that correct. I saw this on Yelp I was thinking someone must have spelled Fish wrong. Nope, it's called a Fresh Fish Roll. You must order the Frish Fish Roll! My Mother in Law ordered the #6 Beef Balls. It was also tasty. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The Kim Kee Noodle House puts out some delicious food.

Yelp
If you're looking for a solid, no-frills bowl of noodles, Noodle Café is the place to go. This is my go-to spot when I'm craving something warm and satisfying. The cuddle fish ball and seaweed combo is my favorite--perfectly balanced flavors with just the right texture. Service is always straightforward and prompt, making it an easy stop whether you're dining in or grabbing something quick. They open early, which is a huge plus, though parking can be limited (there's a small lot in the back or street parking). If you're after a great bowl of noodles without the fuss, Noodle Café delivers every time!

Yelp
Always love House Noodle No.21 and Lipton tea with lemon. The lady with short hair that I met always provided nice service. Thank you for making great food, great service. Making me want to stop by this restaurant when I visit Monterey Park.
