"Kim Ky is a San Gabriel Valley institution with locations in San Gabriel, Rosemead, and Westminster. This popular Chiu Chow restaurant’s menu rivals the Cheesecake Factory’s with a section dedicated to noodle soups featuring near-infinite options for customization. Diners can choose between rice noodles; thin, thick, or flat, egg noodles; and silver needle noodles nicknamed “rat tail noodles” for their tail-like appearance. Noodles can be served soup-less or with a traditional Chiu Chow broth made from chicken and pork bones, rock sugar, fish sauce, and dried shrimp. One of the most popular dishes is “chai tao kway,” which is a stir-fried radish cake with egg and preserved daikon dipped in vinegar. Another specialty is fried you tiao crullers made fresh every morning. Don’t skip out on the housemade spicy barbecue satay chile sha cha sauce and pickled green chiles." - Kristie Hang

First time went to Santa Ana Asian Garden to have lunch with my Dad teacher and his friends. There is a huge Vietnamese population there. We went to eat at Kim Ky Noodle house. There were a lot of people eating there. We have a party of 8. I love my dry sea food noodle. It came with a bowl of soup on the side. It was delicious. Come try them and let know what you think if you are in the area.

Google
This is a good noodle place with great fun service. Their very friendly and pleasant the food here is quite better than most of the noodles shops on Bolsa. Plus they have a little jar of the pork rinds if you want to add more to your soup. 😀

Google
The only Vietnamese/Chinese noodle place that can give the same taste as the places in District 5 in Saigon. Best place for Vietnamese/Chinese foodies who are from Saigon Cholon and misses those flavors in the US. Their dry noodles bring me back to Saigon everytime.

Went here for lunch today and it was truly a fantastic experience. Lucy took care of all me questions and explained the dishes well too. The food was excellent and they create some variation for me based on my requests. I will go there again for sure and recommend it to others. Thank you very much.

Google
Good sate noodles. Parking sucks though. Always crowded. Comes with complimentary vegetable dish that evens out the meats. The liver is supposedly popular but i did not try it

Google
Open at 8 am which serves noodles & more for breakfast, delicious noodle soups! Fast service & friendly staff.

The staff is very friendly and the service was great. The owner was very friendly. He made sure everyone was being helped as they walked into the restaurant. The food was delicious.

Yelp
I always appreciate a good Vietnamese noodle soup place! I got the Mi Hoanh Thanh (Egg Noodle w/ Wontons) and it comes with Char Siu meat! The broth was rich and not oily. I loved being able to customize the flavor with the condiments on the side! The wontons were pretty big and juicy as well. To wash the savory, I got a Thai Milk Tea which wasn't too sweet! Coming here during Lunar New Year weekend, I expected a crazy wait but service was quick! Our server even gave us suggestions when we were confused and it came out delicious as expected!

Lynne T.

Yelp
I got the Hu Tieu Hoanh Thanh (Wonton) with small rice noodles and my boyfriend got Hu Tieu Mi Thap Cam (Special with small rice noodles and small egg noodles). The wontons had a mixture of meat and shrimp in them and were really yummy. The broth is pretty good on its own, but if you like it saltier, there is a condiment tray for you to dress your bowl however you like. I liked the fried garlic so I sprinkled some on top. Parking is limited in this plaza tho

Betty G.

Yelp
Love the pork and shrimp wontons here. So good. I always order it to go and add a side of egg noodles every few weeks. Pretty filling. The lady owner at the register is always so nice, as well as their employees, especially the food runner guy that is always in and out the kitchen constantly. Small restaurant with only a few tables but delicious noodles.

Ronny T.

Yelp
Nice little place for a bowl of noodle soup. Nothing fancy. I had the #3 combination meat and seafood. You can choose 1 out of 6 different kinds of noodles from flat rice noodle to wide egg noodles. I had the regular egg noodles. Soup was tasty. Service was efficient. Place is kind of spartan but nice to see some locals hanging out and enjoying a bowl of noodle soup.

Yelp
Kim Ky usually has a good vibe. If you arrive in the lunch hour, you may have to wait for being seated by 10 minutes. It's not too convenient to park the car either. They always have around 5 staffs helping around. The turnovers are rather quick. We have two noodles and two dishes and they cost us $54. It's worth a try. This store is closed to the core business area of Westminster and it's popular with local residents, signaling good quality. This visit is close to the lunar new year, so it's next to the flower fest and we had a chance to go around after our lunch.

Yelp
Located in a busy small plaza next to Asian garden mall finding parking is difficult but will be worth it. I arrived on a Saturday morning and there was a little wait. There is outside and inside dining tables available. I ordered a combo dry wide egg noodles (mi kho thap cam), Chinese donut (gio chao qua), and fried rice flour cake (banh bot chien). -The egg noodles were so good and I loved the broth it was so flavorful also I loved all of their topping options they had fried garlic, chopped vinegar green peppers, and fried pork belly cracklings (and more but this is all I used). Other restaurants usually skimp on the fried pork belly cracklings so I was so excited to see this restaurant have so much and give their customers the option to put as much as they want. -The gio chao quay was very good and not oily like most and it was so fluffy and had many layers inside it soaked up the broth beautifully. -The banh bot chien was good but not my favorite it wasn't crispy enough and didn't have any radishes or carrots that the dish usually comes with. The service here is fast and friendly. The food and drinks came out fresh, quickly, and my order was accurate. Overall I would definitely come back!

Melinda L.

Yelp
Such a travel in time visiting Kim Ky Noodle House - I feel like we went back to the 90s, 80s even...to experience some old school noodle soups. My date and I came here and it really did not disappoint. I got to try their Choice Chow Hor Fun soup and the kidney pieces were delicious. My date loved his Wonton Soup with special egg noodles and also enjoyed the Fried Doughnuts (yow ja gwai). So simply put, good food, old cafe vibes, good-priced, good staff here also. Parking was easy, so come by if you wanna try their noodle soup. I definitely want to come back!

Terry M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. It's essentially a "build your own soup" situation. Choose the noodles you want, choose the protein(s), and then there's a selection of sauces, spices, and even some chicharones that you can add in. The result is what you make of it, a very tasty bowl of soup! The service was quick and friendly, the place was homey in ambiance but fresh and clean. 10/10 - I will return. :)

Yelp
This place makes the absolute best comfort noodle soups in my book! We were craving something soupy and simple so we decided to check this place out and coming from NorCal - i was looking for something like TK noodle and this looked the closest to it. They're located right next to the Asian Garden Mall so parking is a bit tricky and we had to walk from the back a bit. The workers were super friendly and spoke to us in English, Viet, and Canto! The ordering process was a bit rushed but they were patient as we were trying to figure out what we wanted. The orders came out quickly and it was a treat to see that they give you little containers of the crispy pork rinds to add to your noodles! My friends and I went crazy and almost killed the entire container. Would come back to this place just alone for it!

Yelp
Every time I find myself in Little Saigon, I always end up here. I grew up eating at Kim Ky Noodle House (other location in SGV) and it's been consistently great for many years. This is what I got: 1. The #3 Assorted Meat and Shrimp w/ Rice Noodle : got it with Flat Rice Noodles + Regular Egg Noodles. I loved the contrast of the bigger rice noodles to the smaller egg ones, perfect texture. Very delicious and I recommend doing this noodle combo when you go! 2. Fried Doughnuts : Great to have on the side! I usually dip them in the soup, and it soaks up all the flavor. Service was fast, workers were friendly, and prices are very reasonable. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Tends to get very busy and the parking is a little hard to find because of the plaza it is in, but I usually end up going in the mid-afternoon and I get seated right away. Definitely try it out!

Micki W.

Yelp
This little place has solid chow fun. I got it with beef. It's really tasty once you add the chili sauce and soy sauce they provide. Without those it's a bit bland. The texture of the noodles is perfect - toothsome, nice chew. I ordered with extra bean sprouts and so glad I did because there still weren't many. It needs that crunch in my opinion. Parking is quite limited but I was way early for any lunch rush so got a space right away.

Yelp
My family stopped by Kim Ky Noodle House for some fuel before doing the day's shopping. We saw that the restaurant was bustling and that there were many people on the waiting list, so our curiosity got the best of us and we put our name down. We got seated quite fast, maybe 10 minutes after we put our name down. I went with #17, the seafood rice noodle bowl, which was around $15. The food came out quickly, and I was ready to chow down. The broth was flavorful and refreshingly light. The noodles were also cooked well, as they weren't too soft. For the price, I enjoyed how much food was packed into the bowl. I happily ate my food in silence and was a comfortable full at the end.

Irene C.

Yelp
Occasionally I would crave for my hometown type of noodle soup and Kim Ky hits the spot. The broth is clear & light but super flavorful. The thick rice noodle is super delicious and ample of protein in the bowl of soup...all lean cut. You got to add the fried pork rinds. Aside from the noodle soup, a must order is the rice cake fried with egg. Always my go to as an appetizer to share with the family.

Nhu S.

Yelp
I've ordered here countless times, and they nail it every single time--talk about consistency! Every order is just as perfect as the last. I usually get my food to go, as I prefer the comfort of my own space over the noise of dining in. Plus, dining in can sometimes come with a few odd looks from other customers. The #3 Trieu Chau noodles are my go-to, packed with generous toppings and more than enough bean sprouts, unlike many places that skimp on the condiments. The prices are fair, and the packaging is so secure that I've never had any spills or mix-ups with my order. I only wish they stayed open later; I'd love to satisfy my hu tieu cravings in the evening too! And it would be amazing if they offered DoorDash or online ordering--it'd make enjoying my favorite noodles even easier.

Eric T.

Yelp
Traditional Chiu Chou noodle place, You can custom your noodles types and with soup inside or on the side. Very flavorful and many options, but if you had to pick go with their noodles. If you're feeling adventurous, add a plate of their pan fried cake, For those sensitive to MSG you may want to skip. This place does get crowded and there can be a wait. Although there's free parking, don't park int he 15 minute loading zone (or the 5 minute loading zone) as the guards there will mark your tires and you may find a ticket on your windshield when you get back.

Jacqueline N.

Yelp
Good place to get chiu chow style noodles in OC! The menu is exactly the same as the one in 626, although the portions are smaller and the noodles are not as chewy, but it beats driving an hour away. I got the fish and chicken dry half thin egg noodles half thick rice noodles. The proteins were nice and juicy and tender, and the broth was flavorful. I wish the noodles were chewier- mine were a bit overcooked for my taste which was in important part of the dish. But overall pretty good place! Make sure to use a lot of their sate sauce. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 5/5

Kelly N.

Yelp
This place has the BEST wonton soup. Usually, I love ordering mi (egg noodles) at restaurants, mostly mi kho (dry noodles), but the wontons are a staple. Sometimes I get it with no egg noodle so that there are more wontons! Everyone there is friendly. It's located in a corner right next to Asian Garden Mall, so parking can be limited sometimes when it is busy.

Howie X.

Yelp
This is a must every time I visit Little Saigon . The signature pork kidney in ginger scallion soy sauce is my must try top choice . On top of that , any noodle soup is my favorite . Not much to say , this restaurant has maintained quality food for decades from every one of my visits .

Ying L.

Yelp
I ordered two orders of #3 house noodle soup with white noodle. $26 with tax. Descent portion but today they ran out of kidneys. Nicely packaged. Everything made it home without spilling. Parking lot is small. Maybe hard to find parking on the weekends. They do offer indoor seatings.

Alma H.

Yelp
Got the Thap Cam (combination) with small egg noddles. Service was fast, it gets busy around lunch time. I usually would go to Triệu Chau on 1st and Newhope, but this is closer and will do for chinese egg noodles soup. I tried the bot chien (fried rice cake with eggs) but it was not crispy.

Eric Y.

Yelp
Come for: banh bot chien Know that: small mom and pop shop - support them! Parking in the small lot can be hard. Kim Ky is a wonderful hole in the wall hidden gem. It serves chiu chow style food with tons of garlic, and tons of flavor. There is definitely a "part of the family" feel with the service as the owners are extremely warm. Now for the star: the banh bot chien. Bar none, the best I ever had. Incredibly crispy with just the right amount of egg. The rice cake itself doesn't have too much flavor but the sauce it comes with adds a little salt, sweet, and spice. Though it has the normal pickled veggies, the mvp were the pieces of fried garlic dispersed throughout. The spot is located in a little side street. It may be easier to park in the larger lot in the adjacent mall and walk over if the lot is full. Overall, a wonderful meal for a great price. Great for the whole family!

Vivian Y.

Yelp
Food - 4.5/5 - assorted pork kidneys 4.5/5 - great dish! The kidneys are cooked just until done and come out super tender. Docked off half a star because the sauce is too light since it doesn't really cling to the kidneys. I wish the sauce was stronger in flavor. Get it!! - fried rice cake with soy sauce (banh bot chien trung) 5/5 - very crispy and I love the crispy fried garlic bits stuck with the cake and egg batter. Recommend!! - assorted meat and shrimp with rice noodle and egg noodle (hu tieu trieu chau thap cham) (dry) 4/5 - pretty standard but good size portion. It's a small mom and pop shop that gets very busy but even then, the workers are sooooo nice. It feels like you're being greeted by an older relative and they help you navigate the menu and give recommendations. There's indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect for lunch.

Junai D.

Yelp
Busy little restaurant even on a Wednesday morning. They had lots of business but we were seated quickly. Love being able to hear a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese here. We got banh canh and bot chien which are phenomenal. Gotta love that cozy Vietnamese food. Service was great and it's definitely worth checking out.

Michelle K.

Yelp
I ordered the Hu Tieu Shrimp with big noodles. The broth was nice and hot and flavorful. The had a bunch of condiments you can add, only one the didn't have was fish sauce. They had like fried up pork bits so you can add to the soup. Eating that alone was even delicious. Over all, the soup was really great. I enjoyed it to the last drop. Service was good. It was simple, they don't come back to check on you after they drop off the food. You go up to the register and pay. Its about $13 a bowl. It got crowded for the lunch time, that they had a waiting list. Its a casual dining place and pretty small too. Just beat the lunch rush by coming early, so you get a seat inside, otherwise you might sit outside.

Michelle N.

Yelp
Absolutely gas!! I was a little skeptical, because the place looked a little run down, but it was packed for a Sunday 2pm. Came in, got seated right away and ordered, our food came out in less than 5 (that's what I love about garden grove Viet restaurants lol.) The noodles are piping hot (love) and there's a decent amount even though the bowl looks small. It's about $12.99 for a small bowl and there's a variety to choose from. Definitely coming back to this place!

Carolyn F.

Yelp
Tasty seafood noodle soup. Deliciously flavored fried rice noodle dish. Perfect meal on a cold afternoon. Service was quick. Small restaurant. Not busy on a Thursday mid-afternoon two hours before closing.

Yen T.

Yelp
My husband and I were on our way to Solvang and decided to grab lunch in Westminster as per usual. I was craving wontons so we decided on this restaurant. Parking was small but luckily we found a spot immediately. The waitress who seated us and took our order was super sweet as well as the waiter serving us. I strictly chose this spot since they have the fatties and fried garlic as part of their condiments on the table. It was fairly busy on a Saturday at 2pm so we sat outside. Broth was flavorful , wontons were juicy, Chinese donuts was crispy and portion was pretty good sized for it $12 for a small bowl. Overall, satisfied with our lunch and will definitely return!

Danai M.

Yelp
Great service! Great Food and delicious! Meat so tender melts in our mouth! It get super packed very small space they have our door serving too!! They have patio setup where you can wait

Kelvin Carolyn H.

Yelp
My favor place for noodle in OC. Although we have similar noodle shops in San Diego we still believe Kim Ky is the best. The soup is clear and flavorful.

Sheshanna P.

Yelp
Overall: Kim Ky's newest location in the OC does not disappoint. Food: 5 I have never had a bad meal here and have tried a variety of dishes including noodle soups, porridge, and chow fun. Favorite dishes include the wonton soup and chow fun. All the soups are served piping hot. The wontons come filled with pork and chopped shrimp. I like that they have jars with crispy pork skin and fried garlic to add to your bowls. Service: 5 The servers are surprisingly nice and attentive, contrary to the stereotype of a Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. Ambiance: 2 I'm not going to lie. Although I love the food, I hate the location. Parking is very limited in this tiny strip mall and you'll likely have to search for parking at Phuoc Loc Tho. The restaurant itself is clean enough in the dining area but the bathrooms could be cleaner.

Julie K.

Yelp
The #3 was delicious! I had it with the egg noodles. I didn't take a picture because we were so hungry! I loved the sauces and pork fro de on the side! The wonton soup was good too. My hubby got the beef and rice dish.

Anna H.

Yelp
My comfort place, super fast services. Heavenly good food. It's clean and fast-paced.

Khai H.

Yelp
Great and authentic food! Expect to wait 15-20 minutes during lunch time, but they will do their best to have you sit down as quickly as possible.

Melissa N.

Yelp
Parking pretty much stanks, I hate this parking lot. To avoid I usually park by Gala and walk over. Food is yummy!

Jennifer N.

Yelp
My mother-in-law wanted to come here for lunch after the Lunar New Year flower market. The wait wasn't too bad as there were several parties in front of us. We got seated at a booth inside the restaurant. This place is known for their noodles, so my husband and MIL got the noodles with broth and I ordered pan fried noodles. Our food came out fairly quickly and they do give you plenty of food. The pan fried noodles was good, just a lot of bean sprouts and onions. I felt like that's all I was eating in a couple of bites. I tried my husbands noodle with the Chinese donut and it was delicious. I see why there's a line and everyone's ordering the noodles. Good quality, cheaper than most places, and the turnaround is quick.

Peter N.

Yelp
It's an ok spot. We had the Beef Satay, Hu Tieu Bo Kho, and Pig Kidneys, all of which were tasteless. The beef satay was very bland, the pig kidney had a strange taste, like to plastic, and the Bo Kho was the best despite the fact that it was equally bland. The server was also quite confusing ; she brought me the meal and drinks, then asked whether this was the correct order, and she also had a concerned tone in her voice. Come on, you work here; why do you need to ask that? The only positive thing about this place was the choice of condiments.

K C.

Yelp
My number one restaurant in all of OC to come and enjoy eating Beef Chow Fun! I love the infused taste of the flavors from the wok and mixed perfectly well with the chow fun noodles, beef and onions! Enjoy! Because I do every time I come here. Yum yum yummy! Make sure you bring cash to pay.

Leah D.

Yelp
Kim Ky Noodle House is an authentic Vietnamese noodle house located in Little Saigon. It's right next to Asian Garden Mall. Parking can be tricky with limited spaces, but you can always park in the mall lot and walk over. Lots of options here at a reasonable price ($12-14 per bowl). I ordered the noodle soup with pork kidney and shrimp, and I asked for thick egg noodles. All dishes can be customized with the noodles of your choosing, egg or rice (yellow or white) noodle, and thick or thin noodle. I also ordered the Chinese doughnuts to dip in the soup. The soup itself is well sized, it will definitely fill you up. I enjoyed the pork kidney the most. I felt there was a good amount of shrimp and meat in the dish. The reason why I rated it a 4/5 stars is because I feel like the actual flavors of the noodle soup could be stronger. I've had Mi that is more flavorful elsewhere. However, this restaurant does something others don't- they have ready-to-go condiments on the table. Not just plain Hoisin and sriracha (which typically are used in pho, not mi), but fried garlic, fried pork fat (MY FAVORITE), pickled jalapeños, and a chili oil sauce that is super yummy. I put a whole bunch of these in my bowl, and it gave it great flavor. With some crunchy chives and bean sprouts on top, I had a delicious dish. Service is good and attentive here.

Jacob K.

Yelp
The noodle selection was good but the soup was not to my taste if I had a choice I would not come back and the bathroom was not as clean. The service was a little complicated cause the language barrier. In a 1/10 rating I would give it a 4.7

Hans S.

Yelp
Authentic chinese/Vietnamese noodles but the bowl is smaller than average. The place is right next to Phuoc Loc Tho mall, the biggest mall in Little Saigon, very difficult to find parking, It's small so there may be 10-15 minute wait at lunch of dinner time.

Anna G.

Yelp
We tried this spot for the first time and it will now be a regular! When the waitstaff are "yelling" at each other, you know the place is authentic. The main server speaks at least 4 languages (English, Vietnamese, Mandarin, and Cantonese) so our party was able to easily order, no translations needed. Food was delicious - noodles were fresh, soup very flavorful and not too salty, Chinese donuts crispy.

MJ C.

Yelp
A must go place every time I go to SGV, those are my comfort food. I like the silver needle noodle with signature soup and boiled kidney.

CaoGiang O.

Yelp
My second visit and honesty the satisfaction has increased since I found the food (special combination egg noodles soup) was served in fine details (from pickled chilis to ground pork, lard pieces) - just how my memories of Viet Nam suggested! This is my go to for noodles soup of all types! Oh! ...and the price is very reasonable! Coming back soon!

Trudy L.

Yelp
I ordered number 14 Broth was clean not oily so I was halo because that bowl was much bigger than bowls of other restaurants. Kidney pieces tasted fresh not fishy or smelly Shrimps were bigger than those I had in other restaurants. I'll return.

Tien N.

Yelp
Delicious noodles for a great price. And they give you fried pork skins already in the table. Overall great experience reminds me of when I was still a kid.

T J.

Yelp
One of the worst service I have ever experienced, and the food is very average. While we were eating, the waitress came and took our condiments tray and gave it to another customer. That customer didn't even eat any of the condiments, and we were not even done eating. Definitely, not worth it.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Came in for an early breakfast and it didn't disappoint! We kinda ordered off the menu but we got just char siu noodle bowls with a side of wonton soup. The shrimp fritters were crispy and just the right amount of oily. The noodle bowl may not seem big but it's quite filling! Tender meats, plump wontons, and chewy yet delicious noodles, what else can you ask for? Not to mention their homemade toppings are to die for! Shout out to the aunties there because they noticed my mom and I were cold so they moved us when another seat was available :) looking forward to come back!

Tina C.

Yelp
I got the egg noodles with seafood, which came with soup on the side. When the bowl came out, it didn't look like there was any sauce, but after taking a bite, oh boy, it was super flavorful. I love the shrimp fried on a wonton chip. I think the only con I had was that all the seafood was in the soup other than the chip. Don't get me wrong, I thought the soup was good too, but I would have enjoyed the seafood mixed in with the sauce. Overall, I would come back again. Employees are super nice and accommodating.

Nancy T.

Yelp
Kim Ky, is in one of the original noodle shops for me though. I grew up dining here with family. They have a variety of options for noodles: thin to wide egg noodles, thin to wide rice noodles, and pin noodles (tapioca shaped as small pins). Flavor wise the food is ok. I got the egg noodles dry with a side of soup. Meat portion was good. I got the combination which had a little bit of everything. The broth was well rounded and had tasted like the typical pork bone broth that they serve with some garnished scallions and cilantro. The plus to this place is the condiments! They have it all from the homemade satay sauce to the pork rinds, fried garlic oil, pickled peppers, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and etc. Love it when I can top my bowl my way! Service is fast and prompt. Typical Vietnamese style restaurant.
