"This hidden gem, tucked away in a Bangkok alley since 1999, excels in fish ball noodle soup. They offer fresh, umami-rich fish balls, al dente noodles, and a savoury, aromatic broth. Optional toppings like cheese and poached egg, along with large servings and ample condiments, provide great taste and value." - Michelin Inspector

Food Review: Egg Noodle with Creamy Tom Yum Noodle Soup and Onsen Egg at Gim Nguan Fish Ball If you’re a fan of bold flavors and authentic craftsmanship, the Egg Noodle with Creamy Tom Yum Noodle Soup and Onsen Egg Topping at Gim Nguan Fish Ball is a must-try dish that lives up to its reputation. Recommended by the staff, this bowl of noodles is a testament to why this humble eatery has won Michelin awards consistently from 2021 to 2024. The fishballs are undoubtedly the highlight of the dish—juicy, springy, and free from any unpleasant “fishy” aftertaste. You can tell they’re made with care and quality ingredients, a rarity these days. Each bite is satisfying, providing the perfect complement to the creamy, flavorful broth. The Tom Yum soup itself is a masterpiece. Infused with just the right balance of tangy, spicy, and savory notes, the addition of the onsen egg elevates it to another level. The egg’s velvety texture blends seamlessly into the broth, making it irresistibly creamy. I found myself savoring every spoonful and finishing every last drop—a rare feat for me when it comes to noodle soups. At just 85 baht per bowl, this dish is an absolute steal considering its exceptional quality and Michelin-recognized flavor. Gim Nguan Fish Ball isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination worth traveling for. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this dish should be on your food bucket list. It’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience.

This may be the best dish I’ve had in all of Thailand? Such a warm atmosphere, the fish noodle soup was such a TREAT- a party in my mouth. Such rich, unique flavors, and such a special spot. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Service was also wonderful & such friendly workers. 12/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if any foreigners are looking for authentic flavor, this is the spot!!!

This restaurant is interesting because it has a huge sunshade with full of Michelin guide marks, these marks also everywhere inside the restaurant, to made me feeling like I was in the Michelin world:) The mama noodle mixed with various kinds of food included minced pork meat, onsen eggs and squid meat, a little bit sweet, not so spicy as I expected, so I put lots of chili in it, then became very tasty, I really enjoyed it and the owner lady was very friendly and beautiful ;)

Wayyyy off the beaten path, only discovered it after a Michelin guide nod but I'm glad I did. Their signature thing is their maximalist noodles with everything: fish balls, some kind of crackers, quail eggs, some other kinds of meat, cheese (in a Thai restaurant?) grilled with an actual blowtorch right in front of you, and thick, savoury tom yum flavoured broth. Unique, cool, delicious and super friendly, definitely worth a detour to this remote area.

A little bit disappointed. The mama moh fai khai tok was way too sweet. I don’t understand why they make savory food so sweet. It’s almost as sweet as dessert☹️. I don’t know why this would be in Michelin guide list. Anyway, their fish balls are great.
