Worst rice cakes I’ve ever had, Flavor was nonexistent it was just pure spicy sauce and the rice cakes themselves did not have flavor (I’m from Flushing, I know good rice cakes). Price was awful as well for the portion. $11 for 7-10 rice cakes. Wait time is long as well (this is less out of their control bc maybe it’s fresh, just throwing it out there)

I had one of the top 10 meals I’ve ever had in my life here. I got the pork belly bibimpap. Great service, food and grocery options

Cute place, great customer service and convenient location. Now to the cons, the price vs quantity. We came in because we saw the sign for 20% off hot food if you pick up and the prices for the Dosirak (Korean lunchbox served all day) were really reasonable. For $12.99 I got kimchee/banchan, white & purple rice, pork mandoos AND kalbi?! Crazy deal. Then I got my food and it was quite a let down. At $10.39 (including the 20% off) I got 3 pieces of kalbi, a sauce container size of white rice, a sauce container size of purple rice, a sauce container of kimchi, half a sauce container of banchan and two fried pork mandoos that could probably fit in a sauce container lol At this price I know that I shouldn't have expected too much but this was pretty ridiculous. They should really call this a "snack" rather than a lunchbox. The food itself was good but I wouldn't go out of my way. You're paying for the convenience.

really disappointed in quantity / portions although the food was delicious. ordered the tteokbokki (rice cakes), for $11 and the photo is exactly how it came — not even a third of the way full in a small soup container. there were like four bites of food. got that and wings for $30 total and was still hungry afterwards. like i said the food was delicious but the pricing for the portions is just ridiculous.

My go-to spot for banchan. Super friendly staff and delicious food all around!

Kimchee Market has delicious glass jar Napa Cabbage Kimchee - my favorite probiotic, definitely keeping my gastrointestinal system functioning smoothly! I eat 4 jars of it weekly! They pack it in so tight that it's overfilled and hard to open but well worth it once you can manage to open the jar.

Cute spot. Have a cute selection of banchan and kimchi. The fried chicken used to be good, but most recently was a little flavorless and not crispy. It also tasted like it could be spoiled. Good spot for a limited selection of Korean pantry items. They try to offer some fresh produce but it's always a little past its prime, not quite edible. You can order tteokbakki and bibimbap and other classic dishes to go - those are usually good but sometimes it feels like they run out of ingredients and substitute with others that don't really work. Lack of consistency, which is the minimum you should expect from an eatery.

Cute little market, they carry a lot of snacks and traditional banchan togo. If you are comparing the prices to H Mart, yes it is more expensive but the quality is also better so the price makes sense to me.

I've ordered here a few times! The Soondobu Jigae is unworldly. The purple rice is spot on. And for someone that doesn't especially love denjang jigae generally, this was really good. One fault of this place are portions are sort of small, but other than that, this is an excellent Korean spot!

I ordered 2 tacos($5/each). I had the chicken taco as well as the ribeye taco. My wife ordered the bibibap. The beef kalbi was tasty. Overall, this was a tasty experience. I felt like I was a kid and my Korean friends mom made me a taco. It wasn't spicy, as Korean food usually isn't. It came with a tasty sauce that was a little peppery, which added a much needed little zing. Overall a very nice lunch. Though it's a long subway ride to get here, so I won't be back.

Cute place. Small selection of basic Asian snacks and food like kimchi, ramen and chips. Prices seemed a little higher than HMart. I kinda wished they sold rice. I also ordered food when I was there and it was good. They have some interesting fusion options with an Asian twist (burritos for example). I didn't think it was anything to rave about, but wasn't horrible either. I'll be coming back for staples like kimchi, but I'll need to look someplace else for my rice :(

Kimchee market is such a cute Korean shop that has some grocery items, a variety of kimchee and also takeout options if you want fresh cooked meals. You can do online orders to go or they also have delivery for people in Greenpoint. I tried the tteokbokki which seemed a bit pricey for such a small portion. Try to go carton was only filled up halfway with rice cakes. It tasted great I liked it but definitely a bit pricey for what you get!! I'll definitely be back here to buy groceries and kimchee!

I wanted to find something quick during the two days of training that I had in the area and was pleased to find this cute Korean market! I basically survived the day by inhaling banchan. I appreciated touchless payment option as well. Day 1: I had seaweed salad and pickled octopus Day 2: spicy bean sprouts, white cabbage kimchi, and pickled squid I don't live in Brooklyn, but if I did I would make it a point to go there weekly. Hope to be back again in the area soon!

TLDR: Tasted fine but way overpriced for such tiny portions. Extremely overpriced compared to other korean options. Ordered delivery. There was a small cup for my rice cakes that wasnt even filled halfway-- had 5 rice cakes. Tasted alright but not impressed with the tiny portion for the price. Everything else was ok value in terms of portion. Kimbap was bland / tasteless.

Great place to get some Korean ingredients for kimchi! It is a little pricey, but they always have quality ingredients and the staff are always friendly.

I just tried their new soy braised peanut mix and it just isn't as good as before. These are now roasted peanuts and they are dry. Before they sweet and so delicious.

Food - delicious. Chige is so good, I crave it whenever it rains. Love you Kimchee Market.

I stumbled on this Korean market in Greenpoint and had a excellent pork belly burrito and kimchi. Very good. Think I may have found my new spot!

I stopped by recently, not really knowing what I was in the mood for. The woman working there was quite attentive and informative. She generously gave me samples, and offered to accommodate me quite a bit. Finally, she provided some interesting perspectives on Korean food. I just wanted to some snacks and was craving those flavor profiles. I walked out with some lotus root, which was unbelievably creamy and flavorful. The pickled? squid was as good as I have had. I didn't buy any hot food, but look forward to trying.

I was excited to try the Korean fried chicken here because I am a big fan of KFC, but this really fell flat. It is not double fried like traditional KFC and really was more similar to cheap fried chicken you would get from a chinese takeout spot. The soy and garlic flavor that was supposed to be on the wings was also nonexistent. I almost wanted to go back and ask if they forgot to put it on because it did not look like there was sauce on them and I could not taste any either. Maybe the other items are better, but I dont think I will be back to find out.

#We ordered this during a music video shoot. My bandmate thought all the #banchan side orders were for me. But they were really for everyone. I acted like a nice guy and shared them anyway. I forgot to bring the #baby because I was wearing my white jeans. I usually wear the same pants every day that has the baby in the pocket.

Vicky wrote me such a sweet note and definitely helped this mama satisfy her craving for bean sprouts. The extra length that she took out of her time to write me a hand written note touched me so much that I'm crying while typing this! I tried to call but the food came after they closed so will try to call again tomorrow. There are still genuinely kind hearted people!!! Ps, the food here is always yum!

Yum!! I ordered bulgogi kimbab and tteokbokki, or of them were so good. The tteokbokki portion is small but the rice cake is fresh and flavor is on point! As a Korean, I approve

I spent $130+ on the kalbi, stir fry octopus, and a bunch of side dishes. The kalbi tasted like overpriced beef and broccoli in a sweet marinade that tastes nothing like kalbi. I ordered five side dishes--they sent two wrong ones and with the exception of the kimchi, the rest were bland. I am giving them to two stars for the food showing up on time and that they refunded the wrong side dishes. Even when I'm desperate for Korean food, I will never order from them again.

It is very overpriced compared to a regular Korean market. They sell ramen and chocopies individually rather than a pack.

Great banchan to go with your main dish orders. Had the kalbitang spicy, KFC and dumplings. It's a great option for Korean food.

Very pleased. Got dinner for two, came out to $50 And the bag was pleasantly heavy. Bibimbap, chicken wings and rice cake stew and came with a whole bunch of side fixin's as well. Have two lunches for tomorrow, five stars sashimi bibimbap next?

I like Kimchee Market - highly recommend the galbitang. I love that we have a korean grocery option in Greenpoint. Helps to get a few ingredients and side dishes without having to go far!

Really delicious deokbokki, with the perfect marriage of salty, spicy, caramelized sauciness and lovely texture of different ingredients, from the deliciously pillowy long rice cakes to the mildly chewy umami of the fish cakes; upon finishing I felt a sense of a warm, comforting hug, nostril-dripping of course but my tastebuds were satisfied. While the portion was small, for about 6 dollars or so, it was the perfect Goldilock's amount of comfort snack food. Totally recommend coming to this small shop! They have a range of kimchi and a small assortment of Korean kitchen staples! Go now!

This is a great spot for really good kimchi and real Korean handmade foods. The kimbap is delicious. I've only been here once so I can't say much about the other foods but the Kimchee Kitchen will be the first place I go to get my Korean food fix. *Update* This place is still wonderfully delicious.

First time visiting this small market and we waited outside for a bit because we weren't sure if they already had more than the max amount of people allowed inside, but the workers didn't acknowledge us. They were too busy chatting and watching these customers feed each other right in front of the door to notice us. We committed to the walk and to check this spot out so we decided to go in since we were able to see the only customers were the two blocking the entrance and having a food sharing frenzy. (Um, does anyone know the indoor dining policy for grocery stores right now?) I'm not really sure what was going on but it was bizarre, and after we entered, it felt like we were interrupting them because we weren't greeted or welcomed by the workers at all. Too bad because I really wanted some of the Noona's Ice Cream!

This place is magical. I am completely addicted to the pickled garlic, soy braised tofu, soy lotus root, soy braised peanuts, aaahhhh there's so much good stuff here! That's just touching on the prepared foods...everything here is crazy good

The veggie kimbaps were so good. The prices were are also nice! Great for grabbing a quick bite.

My husband and I have been eyeing this place all summer, waiting for it to open. Kimchee Market just had a soft opening 2 weeks ago. It is a related business to Dobeki. Currently, they have kimchi and banchans available, various Korean/Asian ingredients (chili paste, panko, somen, sesame oil, etc.) and snacks (shrimp chips, etc.). They were having a free banchans tasting and I tried the sesame leaves, cucumber kimchi, and chili anchovies--all delicious and very fresh! The grand opening is in plans to happen in the next few weeks as they work on getting the rest of the shop set up. They plan to have daily packaged lunch options like bowls, bento boxes, etc. that are meant to be grab and go. It's a pretty small space but seems to be offering a few exciting Korean options for the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to the grand opening! Update: Kimchee Market has been up and running. I enjoy their kimbap and bento boxes for grab and go--the bulgogi is my usual grab. The reason for my update is to point out that there's a hot foods take out menu now--Kimchee stew, soon tofu, kalbi tang, rice cakes, and beef broth soup dishes. I'm working my way through all the items, but I'm looking forward to cooler weather when these dishes will be very satisfying! Best Korean option in this area definitely!

LEGIT! My new fave spot in Greenpoint! Restaurant AND mini grocery store. Fast, delicious, friendly, open late, Korean, basically all the best things :)

Great spot. I always get here for lunch they have so much different options on foods the wings or my favorite and you know the blue cheese that comes with it is great taste. I recommend this place

I live in New Jeresy, but I've been here 3-4 times already. Why?? Love there kimch And all the side banchans are fantastic. Very traditional. That's why I like it. Feel like I'm in Korea. Lately, they are doing takeout and delivery service. Oh! Wings were good!

We get takeout from here when we miss eating Korean food. Especially the soups. You get 20% off if you pickup the order from the market, so we usually do that. One of our regular takeout spots. Soups are good, soy garlic fried chicken wings are okay.

I like the kimchi at this market. HOWEVER, the lady working at the counter yesrerday in the afternoon was very cold. She seemed bothered that we were in there and looking at the various kimchis (which we purchased). I feel bad for the owners as this lady leaves a bad impression on this business. Also, the kimchi isnt cheap. 10 dollars for a small jar of kimchi and you have this unpleasant lady there representing the market. If youre going to mark up your kimchi that much, at least have it be a good experience in the place. Probably wont be back because of the brown haired non-asian lady.

The worst care I have received in a long time. I am a frequent customer and today in search of my order, I found a red-haired lady with blue eyes who in a very bad way replied that my food would be ready at any moment after I told her that I had 35 minutes waiting. I was shocked by the way she said things about her. just at that moment a boy who makes deliveries also came in and his response was discriminatory. She cannot handle more than two clients at the same time, I WILL NOT COME BACK

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place. Staff was so attentive and kind. They had all sorts of kimchee but they had ran out of pickled radish. The person behind the counter let me sample different kinds of kimchee. I don't know how authentic it was but it was certainly delicious. The place itself it not very big. They had a couple of snacks and noodles to one side. Most, if not all, were Korean. But the food. Oh man the food. They had freshly made japchae that day and I died on the inside because it smelled really good. I settled for an order of kimbap and it was delicious. The rice was brown, which I didn't think I'd like. But I devoured it when I got home. And it had a couple of piece of pickled radish on the side. I think it was only 4 bucks. Definitely recommend this place if you need kimchee or are craving some simple but delicious to go Korean food.

Don't you hate it when just one person and ruin your whole experience. One of the staff members wasn't to welcoming when you first walk in. It was my first time coming here and I heard amazing things. I wish I got to talk to possibly the chef because the food was amazing.

I absolutely adore displays, They give a lot of additional side dishes when you have an order to go - is fabulous. I recommend the Galbitang!

Every item here has been excellent. So glad I have a good Korean place that delivers to me. I wish they had the burritos and tacos from Dokebi as well but I guess a girl can't have everything.

Ordered Tofu stew and Kalbi Jim. Sub standard and overpriced. Kalbi Jim had 3 pieces of beef in soy sauce broth for $21. Tofu stew had seafood that probably came from a frozen bag and very little tofu. Service was ok. Someone offered free tea while waiting but otherwise not a place to go again.

It looks like a small shop but you can order food in there. I had Kimchee fried rice with pork three times in a week, haha! Fresh ingredients and my Korean friends said it's very good Kimchee! Food also comes with some small side dishes and sometimes, hot tea.

Appallingly bad "customer service." And I have a pretty lenient attitude when it comes to customer service, having worked retail hell myself. I would almost never write a bad review on Yelp. I generally give businesses the benefit of the doubt, assume it was an off-day, etc. But this guy was so unbelievably rude to me today, I couldn't not speak up about it. Good luck guys, but I will never return.

Soon they r having kimchi classes! they sell hot food now! (Here comes incorrect spelling) bokkeumbap aka pork fried rice- so good! And some pancake in spicy sauce w thick thick chubby chewy noodles. Ugh. So good. Overall, they make the food right there and then. It.s heavenly. The rolls are great and it comes w a tea that I want forever. The market packaged goodies are handy for when u r making Korean noodle type dishes. Their refrigerated vitrine has pickled assortments like the caramelized soy lotus root (I want a giant jar of this), cabbage in mul, the marinate bean sprouts... Etc etc... Great variety. Great place. Visit!

Limited review here. One night we stopped in to see what this place was all about. Having never had kimchi before we were excited to take part in the plethora of sampling they offer. We tried about 2/3 of all of the items they sell. Ended up taking home traditional Napa cabbage kimchi and garlic stems. We ended up using me these in some homemade kimchi and beef fried rice, YUMMY! I'm very interested in returning to try the lunch special!
