Today at 12:30pm, my Brother, Nephew and I attempted to go the Northville, MI location today to celebrate my Nephew's 18th birthday because KIMCHI Box this is is favorite place to go. He usually goes to they Novi location, but Northville was a closer spot for us all to meet upsince I was coming from Woodhaven, MI. On entering the establishment we were greeted by the host. He asked us how many we said 3 please. Followed by do you know what you want? I said no, they have been here before, this is my first time. Are you going to order BBQ? I told him I'm not sure, again it's my first time here, but they have been here before I won't know until I look at a menu. He looked aggravated, as he bent over to pull out some menus out of a draw and handed them to us. Asking us to look at the menu before we were seated. I looked at the menu and said I'm still not sure, but the BBQ looks good, so we may order it. He said to us he needs to know 100% before he can seat us. I said fine we will order BBQ then. He said to us again, well I need to know for sure. I was confused, and asked what is the problem. I said we will order BBQ can we be seated. He said they only heat half of the dining area and it that section is only for people ordering BBQ, so come on guys, decide what you want. I'm frustrated at this point because it was obvious that he did not want to seat us regardless of what we said. So, I told my brother and nephew to forget it and we would go somewhere else and left. We ended up at Granite City. Again this was is what my nephew wanted out of all the choices in the metro Detroit area and this is how we were treated. If this is how you're going to treat customers, especially loyal and new customers, then you need to close the doors on cold days or have a sign or something explaining "Know your order before you will be seated!". I'm not sure what to think at this point. My Nephew was obviously disappointed. I even asked did he want to go to the Novi location instead. He said, NO!! If that is how they want to treat us, I'll never go back there or to any of their locations again. So I'm just posting this to warn anyone who attempts to go there on a cold day. You better know what you want ahead of time and don't plan on getting BBQ even if you ask for it!! Such a shame, that customer service has gotten to this point nowadays! I wanted to do something special for my nephew's 18th birthday, but this is where he wanted to go and this is was the result! Wish I could have had the food because it look and smell good! Guess I'll never find out!! Thank You to the hostess that worked today, you ruined my nephew's birthday with your rudeness and lack of professional customer service!!
