Kimchi Pop Rogers Park - Review - Rogers Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"With three and a half Starbucks locations, it’s easy to find mermaid-branded coffee in Rogers Park. Classic Korean dishes, less so. Unless you know about Kimchi Pop, a tiny spot on a quiet strip of Glenwood that’s making delicious stews, bulgogi, and kimchi pancakes. The soondubu is packed with umami, a little spice, and silky tofu—the perfect remedy for a gloomy day (or hangover). We also like their kimchi fried rice with spam, as well as the ddeokbokki. There isn’t a lot of room in their space filled with Thomas Kincade-esque paintings and colorful paper lanterns, so it’s common to get food to go. But a seat comes with unlimited access to their self-serve table with excellent banchan. Food Rundown Soondubu This tofu soup is one of the best things on the menu. You can get it with beef, pork, chicken, or kimchi, but our favorite is the seafood. The little shrimp and mussels swimming in the bubbling red broth give the whole soup another level of richness. It also comes with a fresh egg to crack into it—you’ll have to wait for it to cook, but hey, good things take time. photo credit: John Ringor Ddeokbokki This is a great starter—chewy rice cakes, strips of tofu skin, onions, and hard-boiled eggs all swimming in an excellent sweet and spicy red sauce. photo credit: John Ringor Scallion Pancake With Kimchi Another good idea for a starter. It’s salty, crispy, and gets a bit of funk from the kimchi. photo credit: John Ringor Kimchi Fried Rice When we’re not in a soup-eating mood (a rarity), we like to get this. The kimchi juices and gochujang ensure that each grain of rice is loaded with flavor, and the little bits of Spam give each bite a salty punch. photo credit: John Ringor" - John Ringor

The Best Restaurants In Rogers Park

"If you’re hungover (or just need some comfort food) the life-giving Korean dishes at Susie’s Noon Hour Grill will revive you. Susie herself is the star of this cash-only spot: a one-woman show where she is the waitstaff and cashier, all while she cooks spicy pork fried rice, hot bowls of yukgaejang, and omelets full of bulgogi, kimchi, and melted cheese. Seating is limited, so it’s ideal for dining solo or grabbing breakfast or lunch with a friend if you can snag a table. " - john ringor, veda kilaru

Susie's Noon Hour Grill - Review - Rogers Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"If you’re hungover, or just in need of some comfort food, revive yourself with the life-giving Korean dishes at Susie’s Noon Hour Grill in Rogers Park. Susie’s is a one-woman show, with Susie herself playing server and cashier, all while cooking up spicy pork fried rice, hot bowls of yukgaejang, and omelets full of bulgogi, kimchi, and melted cheese. There’s very limited seating at this casual, cash-only spot, so it’s ideal for dining solo or grabbing breakfast or lunch with a friend if you can snag a table. Google
Food was really good and tasty! It wasn’t full when I went but it’s a little small so I could see it getting full and being harder to get a table other times.

Tania C.

Google
I loved this place! Excellent food and service. Very friendly atmosphere. Store front is well lit and nicely organized. Our table was clean. The plates were very nice. Only room for improvement may just be deep cleaning aspects. Otherwise, I will be coming back for the authentic food!

Sophia

Google
Wow! The food was so delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They don’t use nuts in the kitchen, so it’s safe to eat here if you have a nut allergy! Will definitely come back.

Hector E.

Google
Amazing Korean food! We had kimchi soup, kimchi stew, bulgogi beef soup, and kpop friend chicken! Everything was excellent. The soup was my favorite and was just the right spicy. Definitely recommended and I would come back!

Stephanie L.

Google
The cutest owner ever. She is so amazing to be running the entire place by herself. Tip her generously! Kimchi fried rice with bulgogi was really delicious. 감사합니다! 맛있었어요.

Michelle

Google
Incredible soondubu jigae and veggie kimbap. Very authentic tasting and filling portions. Friendly service. I’ll definitely be back! Small recommendations: would be nice to have purple rice, metal chopsticks, and hot tea for the full authentic experience. :)

Seryna E.

Google
Absolutely delicious! I missed this kind of Korean food from when I wasn’t studying in Japan. I can’t get enough of their tteokbokki (or duk bok ki on the menu). They’re also super friendly there and the banchan they offer are delicious too.

Nick M.

Google
Our first visit to Kimchi Pop was spectacular, and some of the best Korean food I've ever had! Chef Som was incredibly inviting, the menu was just the right size, and the sides were all fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend the No. 2 - it was warm, savory, and sweet. If you get the dumplings, use them to scoop up your extra sauce and veggies! Chef Som and his team were also incredibly accommodating, and walked over to check on us and offer Choco Pies for clean plates! Highly recommend, and we'll be back.

Yelp
I forgot my phone or otherwise I would have taken a picture of possibly the most delicious omelette I have ever eaten. This is a small diner operated by one person and service and quality was surprising given this is a one-woman operation! The bulgogi and kimchi omelette with hash browns was to die for. The combination of textures and flavors was a revelation and the omelette was absolutely perfectly cooked. I regret not knowing about this place while I was living in Chicago.

Yelp
This place is run by the sweetest woman who cooks and serves you. Had a delicious Korean pancake here that was huge! Prices are incredibly affordable. Great little neighborhood spot that transports you back in time with its classic diner/dining hall-esque furniture and framed oil paintings on the walls.

M W.

Yelp
Cute little 6-10 top breakfast joint. The kinda spot that feels like it's stuck in the mid fifties/sixties. The older woman who was working (presumably Susie) was doing the most! And all by herself, no other assistance in house. You get water, but I'm not sure what other beverages were offered. I didn't know if the fridges in the middle of the space were self serve, so we just sat and listened to the classical music and waited for her to take our order. I ordered the bulgogi and kimchi omelette, asked for no cheeese, and the hash browns well done. She rolled her eyes, and 15 minutes later I got my dish. Hash browns were crispy, but the eggs were positively cheesed, so I couldn't enjoy it. The beef that wasn't covered was well seasoned, though! My partner had her order perfectly made and loved it. We waited maybe too long for her to check back in at the end, my partner stood by the counter for maybe 5 minutes and was completely ignored (we were the only ones in the spot by then) so we left some money and thanked her. I'd go back.

Yelp
Happy I got to experience this little gem before leaving Roger's Park Morse stop area. This breakfast/brunch place is for the locals as its only open from Thursday-Sunday from 10am-3pm. The shop only has capacity of 15-20 people max which makes sense since it is a one woman show. I got her at a lunch rush so I brought my laptop while I waited for my to go order. She was very sweet to her locals (all above 50). She was a bit snippy with me when I ordered but I didn't mind since I understood she was a bit stressed. I got all this food for under $30. I was very happy with the proportions & taste. I was satisfied knowing it was made by a boss bitch old lady.

Yelp
We had lunch at Susie's today. This is a wonderful place to eat honestly good food and meet a truly nice person named Susie. Between the four of us we had bibimbap with bulgogi, a Korean pancake, a vegetable fried rice, and an octagawa. All of our dishes were delicious and generously sized. The homemade kimchee was very good and the gochujang that Susie makes was fabulous. This is a small place and Susie is the only person cooking and serving, so, don't be in a hurry. Sit back and let yourself be served a delicious meal by a truly nice and genteel person. Just be sure to go and enjoy before this treasure is gone. Cash only.

Max R.

Yelp
A unique experience, homey and delicious. The sort of place that makes Rogers Park a wonderful place to live.
google avatar

Melanie P.

Yelp
Honestly, this place just made my heart happy. My friend and I shared the japche dish and the bulgogi and kimchi omelette. both were delicious, especially the omelette. Susie runs a one woman shop, and her grit doesn't go unnoticed.

Robert F.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Susie's for a while but went last weekend. Still terrific. A tiny place playing chill classical music and orchestrated by the phenomenal Susie. One must be patient here, this is not a drop in and dine spot. Susie is the whole show and takes and delivers the orders in the order received. The upside to the wait--everything is prepared on the spot and is so delicious. My wife had the terrific kimchee bulgogi omelet, my kids went with the tofu omelet, and I had the bulgogi bib im bop. All great. Susie is the hardest working person in the restaurant biz and she delivers in a big way with a smile to those who show a little patience. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait and that sums up the great dining experience at Susie's. I won't wait two more years before going back. A true treasure.

Lance N.

Yelp
great homestyle diner, great comfort food, susie is the best! they dont make them like this anymore. go there before its gone
google avatar

Diana K.

Yelp
Susie's is an experience everyone should have. Love it. She's the only employee. I love the food.
google avatar

M H.

Yelp
Dive-y diner run by just one person, namely Susan. Korean and breakfast options. Cash only with limited hours. Pleasant enough if your expectations aren't too high.
google avatar

Samantha K.

Yelp
Literally the best bibimbap I've had! I still crave it sometimes. When I visited, there was only one elderly employee working and doing EVERYTHING (hosting, waitressing, cooking, cleaning) and she definitely needs at least another person to help her out! Otherwise this is such a cute little place with excellent food

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
Susie has been on my mind since I ate there. Y'all, I have been trying so many restaurants since I moved to Chicago. THIS RIGHT HERE......has been my first time doing yelp for any of them. She put her foot in that Bim Bam Bop! Going back ASAP!
google avatar

Bernardo S.

Yelp
Sometimes you come across a place that you wished that you had come to sooner......This is that place ! Craving breakfast ventured across this place and seen some yummy photos on Yelp and needed to visit. The sweet lady inside reminds me of going to my families house to eat so inviting and comfortable. Wish I would have known that someone had created a omelet with : kimchee , bulgogi & cheese ! This is an outstanding combination that is by far one of the best breakfast items I've ever tried. The bulgogi was soft and tender along with a mildly spicy kimchee and then you add the cheese that gives it a over the top taste . This is one of the best breakfast places I've ever had the pleasure of visiting and will become a regular . The lady is a 1 person show so be patient and just enjoy the deliciousness of having a great breakfast.

Riley K.

Yelp
I love to explore restaurants, but when it comes to breakfast, I go to Susie's every time. Just too good. Best place on earth. Viva la Susie.

Carrie Ann R.

Yelp
Best Korean food I've ever had in my entire life. Can't go wrong with the bip Im bop or the bulgogi

Tom C.

Yelp
What a fantastic little place to randomly wander by at lunch time! Delicious! We love little hope-in-the-wall places like this!
google avatar

Ying M.

Yelp
She's so awesome. The food is great. I always get the chep che or the chicken with vegetables. She's a one woman show and it's so inspiring.
google avatar

Philip Y.

Yelp
The owner/chef/waitress is a grey-hair Korean lady. The service is kind of slow but it is with the waiting. We were visiting our son at Evanston and stopped here for lunch. We tried to order two Bi Bin Bop, one Omelet with Bulgogi & Kimchee, and Yook Gue Jang (Hot & Spicy Korean soup with beef). She refused our soup order saying it is going to be wasted among three of us. The food tastes great!
google avatar

Jeff D.

Yelp
It's sad that I've lived in this neighborhood for almost 5 years and yesterday was the 1st time at Susie's (I think her Korean name is Soo). However, I'm sure I glad my first and not last experience was amazing! This was possibly the best lunch I've had in a long time! As others have said, it's a one woman show who will take your order, give you flatware, cook your meal and serve it to you. Yes there are about 5-6 tables there but be patient and enjoy the coziness of Susie's. I chose the Bugogi Bi Bim Bop and man I was I heaven. I think next time, I'll opt for Sriracha instead of the paste I was given as it was not spicy enough for me. Also, I was lucky when I went as I was 1 of 2 tables occupied so I did not have to wait too long. Parking is very limited around that area unless you park around the corner on Morse or if you're taking the L you'll be good. So if I enjoyed myself and had a delicious meal, why 4 stars? My biggest pet peeve will always be napkins. The napkin was flimsy and was only given one. I'm know I'm being picky here but I do like a good napkin especially if your meal may be messy. If I could've given 4.5 stars I would've. Also, remember this place is CASH ONLY!!
google avatar

Allen G.

Yelp
This place is great. It's a one woman show who does everything. Which means don't be in a rush. She'll get to you when she gets to you. And I wouldn't make any modifications/substitutions to the order... She toasts toast perfectly and her white rice is perfectly cooked: light and fluffy. Depending on the day she could be in a great mood. Lots of smiling and talking with the customers. Or stern faced: especially when a riffraff shows up. Haha. riffraff. She's kind of like the soup guy in Seinfeld in real life.
google avatar

Michael Z.

Yelp
What a charming little breakfast/brunch type place. I've never been to a restaurant that was so truly and purely homestyle as here. It's entirely 1-woman operation, which means that you should expect things to come out a bit slow. After all, she has to take your order, then make it to order, and then bring it to you, all the while servicing other patrons and refilling your water, etc. For some people, this might be a problem, but I'd say that you should have the right expectations if you're going to come here. It's a homey place to relax and stay a while, not a quick in-and-out diner. What I love about this place is that it's exactly what you might imagine Korean fused with American breakfast to taste like. Bulgogi and kimchi in an omelette? Sign me up! The quality of the bulgogi is solid, and it's honestly just a great pairing of flavors and foods. Obviously it's Korean-based, but I wished this kind of thing was available in more places. Plus, it's really hard to complain about the prices, especially when the portions are pretty generous.

Devyn H T.

Yelp
FOOD: Great Bulgogi steak Omelette. My first time tasting bulgogi steak. It was a tender and thin cut of meat very well marinated with an ever so slight sweetness. Still dreaming of it. The rice was a great consistency. I can never seem to get my rice that way unless I use a microwaveable rice cooker, which--by the way-- is an invention that has changed my life. SERVICE: I had to come check out this one-woman show myself after reading the reviews. It's legit. Miss Susie is the chef, waitress, busgirl, and cashier. She was very fast, attentive, and had everyone covered. The place is small, so she has the ability to keep an eye on everything at all times and make sure you have what you need. LOCATION: Great location, right of the Morse Red Line stop. ATMOSPHERE: No nonsense. Pink pleather chairs and easily wipeable tables. Pretty small place, you couldn't do a cartwheel without knocking something over. But why are you doing cartwheels anyways, weirdo? Definitely will be back to taste the bi bin bop.
google avatar

Shuang Z.

Yelp
Susie is the best!! She owns and operates the whole diner by herself! The food is absolutely delicious!!! Order whatever on the menu and you will love it! Bi bim bop is my favorite! Love the egg and bulgogi in it!!! Be patient though, since she takes order, cooks, and serves food all by herself!
google avatar

Yelp
We were craving Korean food on a cold Chicago morning but none of the places near us were going to open until noon and we needed food at 10am. Yelp led us to Susie's which is a bit of a hidden gem and like a cleaner hole in the wall. This entire place is run by one Korean grandma and honest to god, I don't understand how she does it. There were three other tables so she managed it well but things were a bit slow. We ordered the spicy ramen soup, kimchi omelette, and bulgogi bibimbap. The food is soooooo good. It's clearly homemade because of the presentation but the taste is absolutely on par if not better with the amazing Korean restaurants I've eaten at. Everything was so flavorful and had a good spice kick and it was just what I was looking for. So bring cash, some patience, and come on down to Susie's.

Damon C.

Yelp
Simply amazing, best omelette I've ever had. Better than yolk, wild berry or any other breakfast places in chicago.
google avatar

Chris N.

Yelp
Delicious homemade Korean food (breakfast and lunch), made by a kindly older woman who does it all - takes your order, cooks it up, serves it to you, and collects your money (speaking of which: bring cash, they don't take cards!). We tried a couple staples from the menu - chop chae w/beef and bibimbop (also w/beef - bulgogi meat). No frills - no drinks except water and coffee as far as we could tell, and you'll be treated to hits from the 80s on the radio. Good value for the quality.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
I've only gotten take out from Susie once, but I dream about it from time to time, and soon I'll be back. I had the bulgogi omelet, which was so delicious, flavorful and unique. She gave me a generous helping of hash browns and toast with it. She's a true pro, juggling cooking, serving, answering the phone, etc. I took my food to go, but I hope to bring a friend to eat sometime, for the people watching.

Yelp
Food: 4 Decor: 2 Service: 4 I came here with my gf for Sunday brunch around noon. It was a bit hard to find since we ended up on the wrong street originally http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/yD1aRxezQ8XjrKogEfuShw?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#N_2Was7ZyEWzNpi14HdXjw. 1. Yelp
Tiny, very basic neighborhood place, with a limited menu.. About five tables. Kind of a one-woman show. An older woman takes your order, cooks it, and brings it to you. Food is solid, and portions are substantial. Coffee is not great. Prices are reasonable. Might be a little tricky to find if you don't know it's there. The signage is not obvious, and it faces the train tracks. Paid street parking. Would go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, great food Surprisingly good combination of korean food and western breakfast. Cash only

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Love this place . Susie is a one person tour de force. Always greets you with a smile . Manages to cook great food as well as serve tables . I have been here many times, but can only comment on the be bim bop, as this is alll i ever have , because its awesome .

Yelp
I don't know what I was doing in Chicago before I discovered this place!! Susies noon hour grill is run by one Korean lady and its so impressive how she does it all by herself. I also couldn't believe how affordable everything on the menu is! I came in here on a Saturday morning and it was pretty quiet. My boyfriend and I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap, kimchee bulgogi omelette, and Korean pancake. Everything was so delicious and reminded me of home! The bulgogi servings were so generous despite the low prices and also marinated very, very well. I'm so excited I discovered this homey Korean restaurant in Rogers park and I would definitely suggest strolling around the neighborhood because Rogers park gives strong small town vibes. If you have extra time to spare, make a trip up to Evanston and the lakefront! I only wish the best for Susie.

Finlay W.

Yelp
This place is such a treasure. The food is wonderful, the portions generous, and Susie deserves to be regarded as a local legend. She seems to run the restaurant by herself, but don't make the mistake of thinking it will take long to get your food or that it's not well-kept. Definitely a fave!
google avatar

Doug F.

Yelp
So cheap and so good! Susie is a literally a one woman show! She is the original Korean Fusion Chef. She definitely was the first in Chicago! The EAT LIST: Kimchi Bulgogi Omelet with Hashbrowns $8.50 Kimchi Bulgogi Fried Rice $8.75 Chap Chae Beef $11 FOOD VERDICT: Picky little kids loved their food and Grandma gave two thumbs up! Food is SOOOOO Goood! SERVICE: Susie does it all. Today, when i was there all her regulars just happened to show up and she greeted everyone with a big smile and plates of delicious food. She literally, does everything, So be patient, it takes a while to get your food but it's worth it! TIPS: CASH ONLY

Yelp
Great omelette. Home style cooking. Try the bulgogi and kimchi omelette. You will not be dissatisfied.
google avatar

Andres M.

Yelp
Authentic, delicious and everything good in between. True Korean, cooked by the sweetest older lady ever. I felt like it was my grandma cooking for me. If I'm ever back In Chicago I will be at Susie's. Korean pancake is the must.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Bulgogi and Kimchee omelet. First Rate. My GF likes over easy eggs. These came out perfectly. The pancakes were super sweet. I imagine they were made with cake batter but that's just a guess. Everything was good. The place wasn't too busy. Its tucked in a cozy spot along a street that fronts the Red line. This was PERFECT WEEKEND, LATE BREAKFAST OFF THE BEATEN PATH. I'm going to call the Staff Susie because it appears that this is appropriate. She was so sweet. We will be back. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Tiratat P.

Yelp
Real home cook meal! The food is delicious, the portion size is big and the price is cheap. Although it can be slow at a time since there's only one cook when I went there. So if there are too many people around, maybe you should consider finding another place if you are hungry.
google avatar

Hana S.

Yelp
Cozy brunch spot with a homey environment and delicious Korean inspired breakfast food!! An old lady runs the restaurant on her owns and makes breakfast food (both American and Korean food) - I usually get the bi bim bop. The food is consistently really good and the portions are sustainable. The lady may come off unfriendly to some, however, you have to keep in mind that she is serving, cooking, running food, and cleaning dishes all on her own. A great place to come and have a relaxing brunch with some sustainable and delicious foods (it is pretty cheap that you can order a few dishes to share because all of the dishes are worth trying)!! :)
google avatar

Ric C.

Yelp
Had a great bulgogi omelette for breakfast served with crispy hash browns and toast. My wife had 2 eggs cooked perfectly as well. This is a 1 woman show, impressed us how she managed the room. Definitely would come here all the time if I was a local to the area.
google avatar

Joanna O.

Yelp
I live a few blocks away from this little hole in the wall, and I have to say, I'm definitely a big fan of the elderly woman that takes care of this place. The few times that I've been here, I've always seen her by herself. The food here, I have to say, is always fantastic. It's authentic and very flavorful. I love how well-seasoned the bulgogi is here, and like that it complements their white rice pretty well. Honestly, I feel super privileged to live in an area where I can get Korean food to-go. Give this place a try sometime!
google avatar

Sonjachardé M.

Yelp
Cash only. I get the bi bim bap with tofu every time. Susie cooks the food fresh right in front of you. Large portions, quick service, affordable and yummy!
google avatar

Reno L.

Yelp
The owner Sue made bi-bim-bop for me over 25 years ago in her first restaurant and I have never had any better anyplace else. I am so happy that she is back on Glenwood (and has been for quite a while) making awesome Korean food with love. This is a very small place. Nothing fancy just great comfort food.
google avatar

Phil D.

Yelp
This place reminds me of being at home with food being cooked by my Grandma(even though she's Vietnamese). Susie runs this place like her own home kitchen, which just so happens to have tables in it for you to stop by and get some korean breakfast comfort food. She runs everything herself, so there might be a bit of time to get your food, but a little bit of waiting will provide you with large filled omelets, hash browns, rice, and toast, all for super cheap prices. We got here and got a tofu, veggie, and cheese omelet, and a bulgogi omelet, for $7 and $8 respectively. There were enough for leftovers too. Two points of surprise when coming here are that one, the menu prices are a little outdated and so the dishes may be a dollar higher than listed(meaning that instead of $5-7 for most things they'll be $6-8, not a large deal). Second is that this place is cash-only, but is also untaxed, which almost balances out the outdated prices. Normally I don't like breakfast foods that much, but I'll take bulgogi and eggs over a waffle any morning.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
A diner-style Korean restaurant that serves up some damn good comfort food. As you may have read from other reviews here, this entire place is run by this tiny old lady, who does all the cooking and waitressing. She may seem a little grumpy at first but if you talk to her she is actually pretty sweet! A friend and I split a bulgogi bibimbap, and a kimchi bulgogi omelette. I loved the omelette - the amount of bulgogi is generous, and the eggs are so soft and silky. Probably one of my favorite omelettes I've had. The hash on the side is meh but that doesn't really matter. The bibimbap was tasty, too - a bowl of soft and moist rice topped with fresh vegetables and bulgogi. You really can't go wrong with such a classic.

Yelp
Allow a bit of time as it's just one amazing woman running the restaurant, but it's more than worth it for some of the best breakfast food in Chicago.

Yelp
Noon Hour Grill's 100th review! (Take that, Helen S! :P) This place serves some pretty tasty KBBQ for a steal. It will be a staple in my go-to places in Chicago for cheap meals. The ambiance: It's a dive with some of the kitsch-iest art pieces on the wall! Come see for yourself. This is an awesome place for take-out ... for a date? Look elsewhere! The food: I ordered the Bulgogi Rice Plate for $7 or so. I got a Styrofoam box-full of food in return. It was so much that my jaw literally hung in amazement. It wasn't all rice, either! Half of the massive box was beef. It's quite an impressive feat. How was it, you may ask? It competes with some of the trendier more-expensive places like Jinju in the city. Chicago is not known for Korean BBQ, so it's actually not a big surprise to me that this hole in the wall can produce some of the city's better dishes. The service: Susie (the darling Korean owner/chef) took my order and plated my Bulgogi up in the matter of a couple of minutes. She's really sweet and looks after you. She also seems to have a sense of humor--she looked at me and figured out I wasn't a true Asian and said, "Chopsticks? Or would that be a waste?!?" Haha. That's the hook that will keep me coming back for years (4.5 or so to be exact) to come! TL;DR. Great, CHEAP food. Owner is an asset to the appeal of the restaurant. Definitely must-try.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with my bf on Sunday. We split the Korean pancakes, and I got the bulgogi/kimchi omelet while he ordered the bibimbap with bulgogi. I thought the Korean pancakes weren't the best, as they were underseasoned and a bit undercooked. Korean pancakes should ideally be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but these were soft all the way through. My omelet was pretty good although the flavor combo was strange and unexpected. It did look impressive - when it arrived, the girls at the table next to me were like, "Wow look at her omelet!" The cheese complemented the sweetness of the bulgogi pretty well, so I have to give her props. My bf's bibimbap was also okay, but not the best I've ever had (and it wasn't served in a stone bowl to keep it warm). Service is good, considering there was only one woman who was both cooking and serving. I think she's the owner and she seemed like a sweetie. This is about as close to homestyle Korean food as you can get, ambiance and all. Overall, 3.5 stars rounding down. It's adequate for toning down my craving for Korean food.
