Anise Tapas and Kimchi Korean BBBQ Both Shut Down by the Health Department | Eater Vegas

"After failing a re-inspection on Jan. 16, I learned that Kimchi Korean BBQ at 3049 Las Vegas Blvd. S. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District for a multi-generational cockroach infestation, with roaches found inside the steamer cabinet, behind equipment on the hot line, on prep kitchen walls and near the dish machine. The restaurant earned a zero-demerit A grade on Jan. 18, and the health department has shut it down four other times since 2011." - Susan Stapleton

I went to KIMCHI, a Korean BBQ all-you-can-eat restaurant, and it was amazing! The meat was super fresh and flavorful — no weird smell at all, just pure deliciousness. The sushi was also really good, but the real star was the naengmyeon (cold noodles). It was seriously the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly chewy noodles and refreshing broth — I can’t recommend it enough. Definitely a must-visit if you love Korean BBQ!

Long story short. I just went in the restaurant to have some sushi, a quick bite to eat before going back to work. Was promptly greeted by a phenomenal server! I can’t stress this enough, Melvin was patient enough and he “convinced” me to try the bbq, he basically said “you are already paying the full price, give it a shot” so I did…he took the time to explain how everything worked, gave me a few pointers and guess what…he was 1000% on point! I don’t really know how other people had bad experiences…mine was amazing and to be honest, it was all because of him and his advice! I did have some sushi, but I spent the rest of my energy just shoving meat and kimchi (which it was also amazing) down the gullet. If you are looking for a fancy place…this is not it…this is made for people who like a great, fun meal.

We came here to eat while on vacation and absolutely loved it here! The food didn’t take long to arrive at all, and the restaurant’s interior and exterior gave off a relaxing and cozy vibe, perfect for eating at any time of the day. My family and I came late after midnight and the employees were extremely friendly; letting us know about after-midnight promotions, patiently explaining some details about the food to us, and indulging in our small conversations and questions (giant thank you to Karl, he was amazing)! And of course, the food was delicious! The portions were perfect for the five of us and it was so filling, without the flavor being too much or too little, and was fulfilling in every bite. Would for sure recommend eating here and would definitely eat here again if possible!

I was craving for Jajangmyeon and it was delicious! I love places that delivers what you expect to be. Nothing more, nothing less. The cucumber kimchi was on point! I don’t have nothing negative to say about this place.

Honestly, this was my first time at a Korean BBQ, and I have to say if all Korean barbecues are like this, I must find a way to get to them more often. the staff was very 6 when I asked for spicier Kimchi, they got it for me. The beef tongue was perfect, and I quite enjoyed the other meats and side dishes as well. I love Takoyaki and the steamed egg with the kimchi was perfect

Kimchi offers an AYCE experience with both Korean barbecue and sushi, along with à la carte options. For the AYCE menu, the General Admission (GA) price is $39, while children between 40 and 50 inches tall eat for $19.59. The premium "NW" option costs $49, with children at $24.50. The menu includes appetizers like Jjajang Rice, a variety of Nigiri such as Yuzu Yellowtail and Seared Salmon, and a selection of Cooked, Baked, and Raw Sushi Rolls. The Coco Shrimp Roll and Spicy Yellowtail Roll are highlights. For dessert, they offer Korean specialties, cake mousse, and mango or raspberry options. Parking is also available, which is a major plus!

I came here late one evening after just landing in Vegas and it was so much better than I expected. The inside of the restaurant is a bit older and fairly empty when we went (to be fair, it was midnight). Service here was pretty quick and the woman who was our waitress was so kind. As we were planning to go out after, we didn't want to do BBQ. Originally we wanted to do their AYCE but unfortunately, by the time we got there, the sushi service had stopped (I believe it stops around 11:30). Instead, we got their galbi bibimbap and the seafood pancake. Both were so delicious and comforting. The banchan itself was okay, but both entrees hit the spot and were so flavorful. Definitely felt like mom's cooking kind of vibe. Great spot for a late night bite!
