We are staying at the Kimpton Aluna in Tulum for our vacation for 10 days. So far the stay has been wonderful. The staff is very kind and very attentive to the needs of their guests. The pool is lovely and shaded in many parts. The vibe of the hotel is almost like a little jungle hidden in the trees. It is off season now, so the hotel is not very busy which makes it very peaceful. I am very impressed by how clean they keep everything, both the rooms and the public areas. The restaurant food is actually very good and only a little higher in price than the restaurants in the local areas. I would stay here again if we visited the Tulum area and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a very relaxed and peaceful vacation.

We LOVED our stay at Kimpton Aluna. It’s not on the beach but for us that was perfect as we wanted to be close to both the beach and downtown areas, and away from party side of the beach road. The hotel has two nice pools to relax at during downtime anyway. ||Rooms were big, clean and comfortable and most opened out onto the pool area or had pool views. ||Breakfast was nice, especially the omelettes, though coffee could be better. The tacos at lunch were delicious and catch of the day for dinner one evening was also good. There are good restaurants within walking distance. ||Social / happy hour every day was great, with free snacks and drinks in the pool area. A great opportunity to speak to other guests and the staff. Special shout out to Juan and Jose who made each evening great fun and provided excellent friendly service!||The hotel reception staff were also very helpful sorting taxis, giving recommendations for tours, even organising hire of ATVs to be delivered to the hotel (though there also free bicycles). In particular a big shout out to the concierge Eduardo(?) who looked after us all week!||Highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for 2 nights, rooms are lovely and staff are exceptional. We had an issue with another guest and Johnathan couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding about the situation we cannot thank him enough. All the staff were so lovely but especially Charlie in the restaurant. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Tulum in the future and we will be back!

I had an amazing stay at Kimpton Aluna in Tulum! Check-in was fast and smooth, and we were welcomed with a refreshing drink. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and I especially loved the rooftop pool—it was a perfect place to relax. On my first night, I had dinner at the resort and the food was quite spicy, which gave me severe heartburn in the middle of the night. Since nothing was open at that hour, I was so grateful to Cythania, who went out of her way to get me some milk. Thanks to her, I was able to get back to sleep comfortably—her kindness really stood out. The staff throughout my stay were incredibly helpful and kind, always happy to give recommendations and directions. The location felt like the heart of Tulum—close to everything! I also loved that they offered bikes for guests; riding through the area first thing in the morning was one of my favorite parts of the trip. On my last day, I lost my camera and wasn’t sure if I had left it in a shuttle or taxi. Eduardo, who was working that night, went above and beyond by tracking the taxi we had used. Within five minutes, he called me back to let me know the driver had found it and would return it the next day. I was so relieved and impressed by the effort and care. Overall, I highly recommend Kimpton Aluna. The service, location, and amenities made my stay in Tulum truly memorable!

We had an amazing experience at the resort! The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and courteous. Our room was the perfect size, making our stay even more comfortable. A special highlight was the delicious vegan breakfast they prepared just for us.||The resort's location is only 1.2 miles from downtown, making it convenient to explore. While a rental car would be ideal, they also provide free bikes, and Tulum is very bike-friendly.||One thing to note is that they have a beach resort, but there is a per-person fee for usage, which we weren’t aware of beforehand. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we’d definitely recommend it!

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's quiet and relaxing. We rented a scooter to get around for the week, which I highly recommend, as well as taking the collectivo shuttle to get up and down the main strip. Eduardo was excellent at letting us know what to see, where to eat. The rooms are spacious, kept very clean, the pools are great for cooling off in the afternoon. It's fairly close to the beach zone, and you can easily find great places to eat nearby. The restaurants in the hotel are also great depending on what you're looking for. Be sure to do the tortilla class. Takes about half an hour, it's fun. All in all highly recommend. Staff, cleanliness, location all get a solid 10/10. We will be back.

A reasonably nice hotel and recently refurbished I think. Rooms are modern and nicely laid out - many opening right on to the pool. We had an issue with our toilet - which I reported twice and remained unresolved - not ideal.||Restaurant was fine - although menu was a bit of an odd mix - chicken tikka, fish and chips, tacos…. Service was friendly though.||Main drawback of the hotel is the location - too far from the beach and too far from the town. The do offer bikes to be fair and if you’re a runner the surrounding roads are good for an early morning jog - but you do feel a bit isolated - and for some reason taxis seem really expensive here.

Stayed here for two nights in early April. We had a solid stay and would come back. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is located between the Tulum downtown and the beaches. Rooms were typical with decent quality beds, bath, and small patio near the pool. We were on the first floor. We enjoyed the complimentary one hour happy hour by the pool. Breakfast was decent. Not a huge buffet, but we’re willing to make things to order. My wife is gluten free so this option was helpful for us. We didn’t eat lunch or dinner at hotel. We walked to a shopping area that had food truck style options. Not a robust amount of restaurants in walking distance. Plenty of cab options if needed. The adult pool on the upper level is a nice option. We were there during a slow period so bar was closed. Certain spots on the adult pool deck could use a refresh. Sun and sea water definitely take their toll. The complimentary bikes are a nice touch. They are definitely showing wear and tear. However, we rode them down to the beach. Overall easy ride. Certain parts are bike friendly. The Kimpton advertised that we had use of the Panamera beach club. We rode there and took advantage. However, be aware they have a minimum of 1000 mxn per person (approx $50). The pricing was such that we hit that figure, but it was a bit of shock when we arrived. Staff at the beach were excellent as was the food/drink. Bike ride took us 20+ mins. Roughly 7km. We would stay again.
