Greatly enjoyed my recent visit to the Kimpton Aluna Resort Tulum. It's a perfect boutique hotel experience. The property was incredibly clean and well-maintained. I had everything I needed on site (two restaurants, small spa w excellent masseuse, two pools, workout room and yoga) for a relaxing vacation. The staff really made an effort to provide great service - remembering guests and preferences to meet your needs before they were requested. Bottled water jugs throughout the property were a great addition to alleviate the need for single use bottles throughout the stay. I will absolutely be back in the future.

Here's a 5-star Google Review for a boutique hotel in Tulum: "Charming Boutique Stay in Tulum" ★★★★★ This boutique hotel in Tulum was a delightful find! The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The service was impeccable – the staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Our room was spotless and stylishly decorated. While not directly on the beach, the hotel's location is a major plus. We were within walking distance of a vibrant new area with trendy bars, delicious coffee shops, and fantastic restaurants. Highly recommend for travelers seeking a unique and memorable Tulum experience!

This is a lovely hotel in a quiet area. It has a very shady garden area around the pool, and a large rooftop pool also. We stayed in a large suite with our own private rooftop cabana and jacuzzi. Very comfortable bed and excellent housekeeping.|The restaurants are both excellent. Bhuna on the rooftop has a bar and interesting menu. The octopus was so good we had it twice. Parallel 20 ,on the main level, is also excellent, Breakfast buffet and very good a la carte choices . We had dinner there on a Monday evening when many restaurants were closed. We both had suckling pig pork belly and it was one of the best meals we have had for a long time.|The very best thing about this delightful hotel is the staff. Everyone from the concierge ( many ) to the restaurant staff are so friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning.

They helped arrange a last minute taxi for us on New Year’s Eve. 3) the restaurants have good food and are open until 11pm 4) the house keeping does an exceptional job of cleaning 5) the rooms have a super luxurious feel 6) we had pool side access which was really good 7) the rooftop pool is very calm and peaceful 8) the hotel is very peaceful and quiet 9) ample of parking and in close proximity to restaurants

We enjoyed staying at Kimpton Aluna. The staff was super friendly and kind. Rooms were fine but could use a bit of an update. The pool area on the ground floor was cozy and with a good atmosphere. The upper pool area was for adults only. The location is ok, but you are not really near neither the city center nor the beach. The surroundings are quiet. The location is fine for excursions. The food at the hotel was good and there’s also some nearby restaurants.

- Spacious and functional room was relatively comfortable for most of the stay but it's disappointing that a resort like the Kimpton doesn't offer a coffee machine or a kettle in the room. - We appreciated the 3pm late checkout for IHG club members - this was a pleasant surprise. - Air conditioning was noisy and woke us up on several occasions - While it's nice that the property has two pools, there were virtually no staff and no service at any of them meaning we had to do everything - from getting towels, to ordering coffee - ourselves. - It's nice to offer bikes but most of them are broken - the two bikes we used broke during our rides and we had to limp them back to the resort. - The gym is so threadbare that there is barely any point pretending to offer one - two cardio machines, one bench and a very light set of dumbbells. - The location is not very convenient unless you have a car. Tulum is not very walkable and the bikes - as mentioned - are mostly broken and unusable after dark - so you'll be relying on very expensive taxis.

Most hotels in Tulum are independent boutique hotels. Since I had never been to Tulum before, I wasn't comfortable booking an independent hotel especially based on the pictures I was seeing of other hotels. I was confident that the Kimpton would be consistent with other Kimpton Hotels I've seen. It was a great hotel and the design was thoughtfully done to provide a great local experience. The hotel was located in a spot that was ok, but it turned out to be about a 15-20 minute taxi ride to most of the restaurants that we were interested in. So, we spent a lot on taxi's (which are strangely very expensive). Uber is not an option in Tulum so you are forced to take a taxi, rent a car or walk. All of the staff that we interacted with were very nice. It was a very enjoyable stay!

Hotel was beautifully manicured with friendly and helpful staff. Has 2 pools with the roof being adults only and has day beds and a restaurant. Includes happy hour every day from 5-6 with a cocktail or beer option and light snacks. Appreciated the water stations all over the hotel. Bikes available for free also with a lock for going off property to either the beach area or restaurants nearby. Kimpton’s never dissapoint
