I chose Kimpton Alina based on what is advertised on their official website, particularly the promise of a “beach club” and a luxury Kimpton-level experience. Unfortunately, what is marketed does not match reality.
First — there is no beach club. This is a major part of the hotel’s positioning online, and it is simply not true. There is no private beach club, no dedicated beach area, and no Kimpton-operated beach service. Guests are led to believe they will have a resort-style beach experience, which does not exist.
Second — several amenities promoted on the website were either missing, extremely limited, or not operating. This makes the advertising feel misleading at best, and deceptive at worst.
Finally — the overall level of service, facilities, and experience does not correspond to what one expects from the Kimpton brand or a hotel in this price and category. I’ve stayed at multiple Kimpton properties and this one is not aligned with the brand standards in terms of experience, attention to detail, or value.
I feel misled by the marketing, and I would not have booked this hotel had the website been accurate. I hope Kimpton reviews how this property is being presented online, because the gap between what is advertised and what is delivered is significant.
I would not recommend this hotel to travelers expecting a true Kimpton experience or a beach club stay.
