Kimpton Carlyle Dupont Circle

This was our fifth visit to The Lyle. It is situated in a perfect location to access most sites by foot, and is only a short walk from a Metro station. Rooms are well decorated, with plenty of space, individual AC units and Nespresso machines alongside an incredibly comfortable bed. There is a gym situated on the lower level which is sufficient for a hotel stay, and a lovely bar and restaurant off the lobby. Staff are always friendly and helpful throughout our stays.

Excellent four day visit. I like the combination of an updated older hotel. Everyone at the hotel was both very service oriented but also really friendly. Nice rooms and beds. Convenient location. Also enjoyed the wine happy hour. Only issue is that our room was somewhat close to the garbage pickup which brought some noise. Will stay here next time in dc

Our stay at the Lyle Hotel was okay, but we were disappointed with the pricing. The rate on the booking was $177, but we ended up having to pay an additional $60 in extra fees at checkout. These unexpected charges give hotels and booking platforms a bad reputation. Washington was a great destination, but this experience left a sour taste. However, the dinner at Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse was fantastic! Definitely a recommendation.

Comfortable rooms, quiet area but a bit far from the subway and the centre. Very nice staff. We were charged twice: the hotel charged the credit card while the room was paid by our travel agency. As we are foreign tourists our bank charges a fee for operations abroad. Fortunately we were fully refunded quickly after our claim. However I recommend to check your bank account after your stay.

What a great stylish hotel this is. It not only has fabulous rooms with stylish bathrooms it has a great restaurant with fantastic good food. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a happy hour between 5-6pm with really good wines to try free of charge. The hotel is in a great neighbourhood with tree lined streets. Really worth a try.

This is a total adequate hotel as a place to sleep but not great if you plan to be working much from your room. Going to start of with the positives - the staff is very friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant is nice and open late which is good since late night food options within walking distance are limited. The bed and pillows are clean and comfortable. Room and bathroom were both acceptably clean. Now for the negative aspects. My room is very small and the one I'm in has almost no natural light; I am however on the first floor so this may not be the case for rooms on the higher floors. The AC vent points directly at the bed and as a result blows on you while sleeping. The desk only has one power jack so if charging more than one device you need to do so on a bedside end table. WiFi is fast enough when you are able to connect but was frequently disconnected.

Historic, good location, knowledgeable friendly staff. They have complimentary coffee time with fruit-infused water always available and offer a welcoming wine hour in the evenings! The rooms are lovely, modern & well kept. Mini-fridge but no microwave. Many free amenities available if you've forgotten yours, but ask early on. They tend to run out. Pricey but great restaurant on premises. Totally recommend this hotel!!

I had a wonderful experience here! First, the location is ideal for great food and night life. The staff is exceptional. I let someone at the front desk know that we were staying to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and we were comped a bottle of wine and fruit assortment. This will definitely be our go to hotel anytime we are in the DC area.
