Google
I'm surprised to see this hotel is rated as a 4.3 (as of May 2025) because I thought it was much better than that. This was my first Kimpton and I think I'm converted for life. It's like a pre-pandemic hotel; daily room service, multiple night staff, incredibly friendly staff, and amazing amenities. My husband forgot contact solution, no problem they had some behind the front desk. We asked for late check-out an hour before regular check-out, no problem you can stay late. Want a nice cocktail, no problem there is an awesome bar/restaurant, that also provides room service while open.||We booked through a 3rd party, so we didn't get one of the larger rooms. There was a small fridge, but no microwave (we didn't need one, but flagging since I know some folks like that). Full size shampoo/conditioner/soap. Our room was on the smaller size, but our friends stayed at the Hyatt down the street and said the same thing, so I think it's more about the hotel being downtown and again we booked 3rd party so we opted for the lowest end room.||Hotel is in the middle of downtown and right off the green line for easy access to things around the city, but there are also a number of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops around the hotel. When we did need to uber somewhere, it didn't cost more than $10.

This is it. I’ve stayed here so many times I’ve lost count. Why? Service. The front desk is always friendly, available and accommodating. I receive text messages to ensure my stay is going well, and if I need anything like a coffee maker, extra coffee or housekeeping request it is answered in minutes. I have noticed other fine details signaling that something is happening here. I thought the hotel was great, but somehow it’s getting better. The staff is recognizable, showing they must be on point. Even the ads and in room information flyers are more crisp. The am complimentary coffee bar leveled up since my last stay in March. During my current stay, Ky made the perfect suggestion how to extend my stay and Sebastian made the turnover seamless. Carl is quick to take care of requests. The housekeeping staff is extremely friendly. Texts to the front desk are answered immediately. I’ve started to recommend the Hotel Monaco to friends visiting the U and they have turned into repeat guests as well. My only request is for a larger fitness center, but the run up to City Creek and around the capital is a great alternative.

Google
I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. I loved the bar, the bartenders Bajon & Nick were personable, attentive and make the perfect Espresso Martini! The common areas are beautifully decorated and relaxing! The only sorta negative is the room size and bathrooms are kind of small but nice.

Google
Beautiful hotel, lovely lobby and sitting area, excellent breakfast included with my stay. The hotel has a nice, classically modern ambience, and uses potpourri or scents to make it elegantly aromatic. The rooms were clean and attractive in an unobtrusive way. |However, my initial room was directly adjacent to a guest who was playing music and the TV at extraordinarily loud volumes, well past 10pm. A text to the front desk resulted in them visiting the noisy room, but to no avail. I finally requested a new room, and Kylen (desk clerk) kindly reassigned me to another room 4 floors up. If it weren't for the obnoxious partying guest (and this was on a Tuesday evening) I would have rated the hotel much more highly.

Google
I will definitely be booking this hotel next time I visit. This was my first time to Salt Lake and the Kompton was clean, all the staff extremely nice and helpful, and the restaurants had amazing food. The accommodations were also very nice. This hotel is in an older building with a lot of charm but a very modern interior. The location downtown was nice where we could walk around any time we wanted anything.

Google
We highly enjoyed our time at the Kimpton Monaco. We ended our two week trip here and it was so comfortable and a great sleeping room. They even went out of their way to bring us a tower fan and extra pillows. Love love this hotel and will definitely stay here again while in SLC.

Google
Great location downtown with easy access to the trains, most stops downtown are located within the free fare area. The hotel is well decorated with many areas to sit and have conversation. The bar has a great atmosphere and the restaurant has great food selections from morning until evening. The fitness studio is a little smaller, however, they have a partnership with a local facility that you can show your room key/reservation to access for free.

Google
Fantastic hotel in downtown SLC. Stayed at the Hyatt previous night and these are miles apart in quality. Rooms are clean and modern and location is central to a lot of great bars and restaurants. Cons : Parking - don't valet and instead just park your car yourself for $27 vs $42. Also, if its Sunday, free street parking. Food - no free breakfast :(

Nina W.

Yelp
Clean hotel that is pet friendly (with no pet fees) Valet parking is $35 per night. The king size essential room is a bit small and lacks table space but it is newly renovated and super clean. It's a good size for 2 people. The staff are super friendly. While they do allow pets, be advised that they do not have a pet relief area on property. There is a dry dirt area next to the parking garage or you can use the planter dirt area across from the valet but if your dog is picky about where they go to the bathroom, it may not work. The nearest patch of grass is about a 4 minute walk 1.5 blocks away. While it works for normal situations, your dog probably will not make it there for bathroom emergencies. Bonus how the hotel was quiet at night :) I would recommend. The location is awesome, very close to City Creek and downtown eateries.

Yelp
Highly recommend. Great location close to theaters restaurans and the near capital. Eva's bakery was our daily breakfast. Can't believe this is owned by holiday inn. It was really nice. So many decor and architectural details that were lovely. Bed and pillows comfortable and we slept well. Room. Was quiet and staff were helpful. Dog friendly. Felt clean and new. Appreciate magnifying mirror in bathroom and makeup removal tissues. Water pressure was nice. Only things I didn't like is parking. They offered valet and we used it but of course prefer free on property parking. But i understand they dont have land space to offer it. Our bathroom was super small. Toilet paper holder was behind which was awkward but room too small for any other option. Not enough counter space in bathroom for all our stuff. The door slid in the wall otherwise would have hit the bed or toilet. Lastly a fan in bbathroom would have been helpful.

Yelp
Good location, came to town for work and the hotel happened to be next door to the client's office and around the corner from the restaurant I had dinner reservations at The White Horse. Clean, big modern rooms. The usual amenities. I'd recommend if you're ever in SLC for work.

Yelp
A nice, clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Everyone from valet, front desk, restaurant staff was super attentive and helpful. After checking in I got regular texts to see if we needed anything. The lobby smelled really nice. I wanted to ask them what type of air freshener they used :-) it was also nicely decorated very light and airy. The restaurant had good food and great service. The room itself was clean comfortable and the right size I was also nice to decorated. I recommend this hotel to anyone that comes to Salt Lake City or business or pleasure.

Yelp
It's a lovely hotel, comfortable beds. My only gripe is with the parking situation, the valet parking area is too small and costly. I opted for the parking garage directly near the hotel, the price is less but still added up due to no in and out parking pricing. I didn't find this to be an issue but my better half wanted me to include that the smell even though are pleasant are very strong as you enter the hotel, it was overwhelming for his senses.

Yelp
This Kimpton location stays on par with many of the other locations we've stayed at over the years. Boutique Style Hotel that delivered that "higher level of quality and service" we've come to expect. Definitely enjoyed the room as it was located on the 7th floor in the corner with multiple window views of the mountains & downtown area. The restaurant located downstairs serves brunch until 2 PM and the food items on there were really good. Ideal location to have work meetings or personal meetups at a mid-high-level restaurant (Bambara). The hotel is centrally located near the convention center (within walking distance) and not too far from a light rail stop. If you walk a few blocks north you'll catch Temple Square which is the key line that takes you directly to the airport. You can walk around the corner to a closer rail stop, but you will have to transfer 2 stops later. I like the rail system as you don't need to spend $$$ money on shared ride... Cost was $1.50, it was easy (with just 1 bag) and you see a little bit of the city For the few nights we stayed, we did struggle a bit with air circulation, so I think they need a ceiling fan (also very dry)... but also learned that pets are allowed and I think that's where we had an issue as traces from lingering pets impacted us...

Yelp
The Mr. and I recently enjoyed a split two night stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco . The first night we were in room 1409. Two nights later when we returned, we were upgraded to a Jr Suite and was in room 1503. Both rooms were recently renovated, comfortable and very clean. We appreciated the friendly, helpful staff, and the location. We were able to walk to some amazing restaurants. As an added convenience, the TRAX Green Line which goes to the airport stops across the street. If we return to Salt Lake City, we will be staying at the Hotel Monaco.

Yelp
I am becoming a fan of the Kimpton hotels as this was the third one I've stayed in. I love that they are pet friendly and have coffee, tea and water available in the lobby. They also recently began offering yoga on Tue and Thurs from 6-7pm and we took both sessions with the amazing Nicole! She was wonderful and I recommend taking a class if your in town those days. The hotel restaurant, Bambara, also a decent place for dinner with a nice wine selection. We had the top floor during our stay in Salt Lake and the room was spacious. My only complaint was the bed and pillows were not nearly as comfortable as they were at the Kimpton in Seattle. Our beds had divets in the middle and the pillows were terribly mushy. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
Great customer service. Clean room. Comfortable stay. Would stay here again. Great views of the mountain if you get a higher level room.

Yelp
Edit: I'm keeping some of the content of the review as it was before so there's some context, but management made a great effort to make things right for us upon checkout. I'm thinking we simply caught them at a busy time where there was a miscommunication with booking. Booked the closest thing offered to a "honeymoon suite" for our wedding. When we arrived, the room was a normal room with all of the desired suites sold out. If you are coming here for a special event, ensure you know the full details of the booking and double check with staff members as incorrect info made its way around a few times during our stay. This is a nice hotel to stay at when you're passing through the city.

Yelp
As a dog-lover, I've always been a fan of the Kimpton Hotels; I try to stay with them even when my fur baby isn't traveling with me just because I like their style and their great customer service. This location is downtown in a very nice-looking building, which appears to have started life as a bank.  On the ground floor you'll find a restaurant, a bar, and a well-appointed lobby.  Check-in was a breeze, with the staffers being both helpful and friendly. When I got to my room, I found that while it was in good condition, it wasn't particularly large.   That was fine for a solo trip, but if I'd come with my SO and my fur baby things would have been a little tight. Being downtown, the hotel is close to a number of restaurants, and not at all far from the Interstate.  I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again :-)

Maria P.

Yelp
Great hotel, friendly and helpful staff from check in, bell hops, housekeeping, restaurant staff and the guests! We enjoyed all the amenities. One recommendation is to increase the size of the fitness room. Would highly recommend and stay there again!

Chanele R.

Yelp
I had some great things about my stay, but also some less than great things, but overall, I liked this hotel and would stay again. The great first: the staff. Other than the woman who checked me in (who gave me a bit of an attitude about mocktails when I inquired about the wine hour, which fyi is not allowed under Utah law, something wild to me for a Kimpton), the staff was fantastic. I was sadly forced to move rooms during the middle of the night because someone nearby was smoking. The woman who helped me move was a gem, and the staff seemed legitimately concerned that I was being "downgraded" from a king corner room to a 2-queen corner room, but honestly my new room was so comfortable (huge bathroom and amazing mountain view) that I did not mind it at all. I appreciated that they understood that it was a problem I had move rooms. They even offered me a $50 credit on my account. (I had another Kimpton have to move me recently, and they did not offer even an apology!) Also great: The location! This was a wonderful place for walking around downtown SLC. It was close to anything I needed, including the light rail, which was quick and fast to the airport and other points in the city. And the views - this hotel has some really gorgeous mountain views, taking advantage of the beauty of SLC. The less great: I had to move in the middle of the night. That wasn't the hotel's fault, but it was terribly disruptive. Also, the Inner Circle amenity was pretty terrible. I usually get a decent bottle of wine, but this time I got a bottle of ... Andre. (You know, the $4 sparkling stuff.) I used it to make mimosas, which is about all Andre is good for, so it wasn't a total loss. Finally, the lack of wine hour was disappointing, but they did have a lovely Christmas-themed Miracle pop-up bar that was fun to visit. (And for a place with weird alcohol laws/customs, it got crowded immediately as they unlocked the doors and stayed busy all night.)

Yelp
I stayed here last weekend. Amazing location right off the trax rail, I didn't use an Uber all weekend. Including to the airport. The bar is really cute and reasonably priced. The rooms have nice features but they're really really small. The claimed the bed was a queen but my feet were hanging off it unless I pushed my head into the headboard. The also charged for advil downstairs which was kinda lame. Overall a very nice historical hotel and very reasonable given the location.

Jason S.

Yelp
Stayed here this week and I would give the customer service in every part of the hotel a 5 star but a deal breaker for me were 2 things. One being the AC in the room. Despite Turing it down to 69 degrees the room constantly stayed hot. While the room was nice it was a little to outdated for my taste which would be my second gripe along with the valet only option for parking which is $28 per day. You can park in a parking garage but who really wants to do that. We ate every morning at the restaurant for breakfast and each time was a 5 star experience. I also really liked the security of the building with only being able to operate the elevator with a keycard. This keeps the riffraff out of the hotel and keep things just a little safer. Overall good stay but not being able to keep the AC at the right temp is a deal breaker for me.

Tara J.

Yelp
Such a great hotel that's right in the center of the city. Close to lots of shops, restaurants and areas of interests. Boutique feel of the Kimpton brand with a local Utah feel. Great customer service from beginning to end. You can tell that the property is an older building but they've done an excellent job of updating the premises and guest rooms to give a modern feel. Super clean and well maintained. Walkable neighborhood.

Yelp
Husband, son, nanny, and I all stayed here on a trip to Salt Lake City in March of '22. Being that it is now July '22, this review is rather late! This was our first time in Utah; we wanted a flight less than two hours long since I was still not used to traveling with an antsy toddler. We chose Kimpton because of its proximity to downtown. Overall, the stay was fine. I did notice that the employees never really greeted us or seem to acknowledge us. The valet guys were cordial, but housekeeping and other staff seemed to look right through us. We requested for our room to be cleaned one day, and they failed to do that, so that was a little annoying. We also asked for late check out on the last day. We went back to the room only to discover that they had already cleaned the room (we'd packed our stuff in the car). That would have been okay, but I left my breast milk in the freezer and I went back to retrieve it. It was gone. That stuff was like liquid gold, so you know I was on the hunt for it. I found it in a plastic bag on the cart a few doors down, so I snatched it up. The room and stay were nice overall.

Yelp
The Hotel Monaco is like the "cool kids" table in high school. The elite can be found here, and it's a place you want to be seen. I was lucky enough to fake my way into the club recently for a night away with my sweetheart to celebrate our anniversary. Luckily, even we can pull off the "cool kid" façade for a night. This hotel is located right downtown, near plenty of night life and activity. But if you don't want to leave your hotel, there's still stuff to do. We spent a good hour playing the magnetic Scrabble game near the lobby. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and made us feel right at home. When she heard that we were celebrating our anniversary, she even upgraded our room for us. Everything about the Monaco is upscale-the service is white-glove, the beds are comfortable and the ambience is welcoming. I was delighted to see a few dogs in this pet-friendly place. People are happy and seem like they want to be here-it's not just a place to lay their head at night. Like with other high-end hotels, prepare to pay for everything (parking, WiFi, breakfast, etc.) This isn't a cheap stay. But it's well worth it!

Yelp
Can't believe I didn't review this place 3.5 years ago when I stayed here. On my move from Austin to Seattle I decided to treat myself and stay in a 4-star hotel. And, despite that, they're getting a fifth star from me. I'm a type 1 diabetic, and sometimes terribly low blood sugar happens. It's extremely unsafe to drive while hypoglycemic, and I'll always pull over and take care of it when it happens. Sometimes in these hypoglycemic states I'll mentally "black out". It doesn't affect me physically, but once I "come to" I sometimes won't know where I'm driving because glucose is brain food. At one point on my drive to Salt Lake I "came to" on a freeway in the middle of rush hour traffic. I was in the left lane, with no shoulder to pull over on, AND I was experiencing double vision. NOT good for driving. The street signs made no sense to me, but Google Maps was leading me to the hotel, and I knew I needed to get off the highway yesterday. Somehow I amazingly made it off the highway without hitting anyone or anything. Attempted to follow Google Maps' instructions, but I overshot the hotel. Fine, because I really needed a gas station so I could grab a Coke. Found one, chugged my Coke and sat in the parking lot until I felt better. Made it to the hotel. Valet parking guy took my keys and had a bellboy bring up the bags I needed. I told the front desk clerk what happened, and she said they had some surprises waiting for me in my room. Turned out to be a bag full of candy, chocolate milk, a couple of sodas and a bath bomb, with a handwritten note from the manager wishing me a pleasant stay. Gotta say, that was pretty epic. Pleasantly unexpected. The room was nice with a quite comfy bed. My cat liked it, too, as evidenced by the fur she got all over it. The hotel is quite elegant looking, and I had never stayed anywhere before that had a minibar, not that I bought anything from it, but I was tempted. Got brunch via room service the next morning before checking out. The food wasn't life changing, but it was above average. I can't think of a good ending for this review, so whatever.

Siri P.

Yelp
Highly recommend this hotel. All around a wonderful experience from check in to departure. The staff is very friendly and responsive, super customer service oriented. Upon check in they provided me with complimentary bath salts to enjoy since I said I needed to catch up on much needed rest. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and had a super comfy bed. Can't say enough about the delicious food at Bambara! Their signature Old Fashioned with chai syrup was so clever and delicious. I had the carrot & ginger soup and organic roasted chicken... both were phenomenal. The next day's brunch was just as impressive and Hayden was a wonderful and thoughtful server. Chef stopped by my table to check on things and had a great sense of humor... ask him about his salmon roe muffin . I'll definitely stay here again.

Aaron H.

Yelp
This place is fantastic, from the bellhop to the house cleaners. Easy check in, and valet service with friendly individuals willing to help when asked. The bellhop that was also the concierge helped with luggage and even gave great recommendations on places to eat. If you stay here hopefully Tim is working definitely a great employee. Traveling cross country for a work relocation the Kimpton brand hotel is definitely open about pets! Even providing amenities for your furry friends. Talking about amenities there is a coffee/tea station in the lobby and at the time later in the evening the coffee changes to apple cider, I did take mine to the room and added a splash of rum to it but on its own was fantastic as is. For added items that can be purchased there is a little setup behind the concierge desk. Checking out was easy and the staff was just as friendly

Dar R.

Yelp
Love this hotel (and the Bambara restaurant)! Hotel lobby was beautiful and the customer service was great. The rooms are basic layout, but beautifully furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Reasonable rates and perfect location. Just ~15 min from airport (or a $16 Lyft or Uber). Go! You will love your stay here in lovely downtown Salt Lake City!

Margaret I.

Yelp
Lovely stay at the Monaco. My husband, our two dogs, and I stayed at the Monaco for four nights and it was very comfortable, and welcoming. We specifically picked the Monaco because they're super dog friendly. They provided bowls, and blankets for the dogs, so cute. Check-in was easy, and from the start everyone was friendly and helpful. I took a star off because we were in an ADA room, which I usually love but the way the shower is set up, and with the low water pressure, we had to stand about an inch away from the wall to take a shower. I'm honestly not sure how someone who requires that set up could actually shower. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay. The beds are comfy, pillows were great, and the Monaco is in such a perfect location. There's a fenced in dog park about 3 blocks away at Pioneer Park, and plenty of dog friendly patios to enjoy.

David J.

Yelp
Yikes! This place is a sad relic. I cannot believe it is considered a luxury hotel. The room was very small and outdated -- stuffy, cramped and smelled like stale cigarette smoke and bleach. All of the fixtures were so old and something in there really triggered my allergies. I think ive stayed in nicer holiday inns than this. Oh, and there were dried blood splatters on the wall!

Patrick C.

Yelp
Wow! What a great find. Sebastian at the front desk was incredibly accommodating to my requests and had an answer for everything. I appreciate that they have a concierge that texts you. The restaurant is good too. Extra points for the wall art and pillows -- so well designed!

Francesco M.

Yelp
Took out the wife out for Mother's Day just us no kids, we went out for drinks and dinner with no kids. Surprised the wife after dinner as we stayed at the Monaco in downtown SLC, we booked Saturday night. Room was elegant, clean, spacious. Comfy bed, beautiful view of the city and excellent location. Bonnie went above and beyond with things, big thank you! Super accommodating, helped me with my check in and check out times, she set a cute note with chocolates for my wife and I and honestly just appreciate that level of service and professionalism. Can't wait to go back! Thanks hotel Monaco.

Steph E.

Yelp
I stayed one night here and everything was wonderful. The front desk staff, both at check in and check out, were extremely helpful and pleasant. My room was recently renovated and was very clean and comfortable. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Stacy P.

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years or so when I come to Salt Lake. This last time, I brought the pooch. They except dogs (not talking about my full tummy lol). Outside the hotel they have a small fake grass area for dogs to potty and a stand of waste bags. It's great for my chihuahua, but I imagine if you have a Golden all it could do would be to turn around 20 times in a circle to go. Across the street there is an area that has dirt surrounded by a couple trees and a curb, but it's look unkept and I would not allow my dog to infest herself. Check-in was pretty convenient this time, I was earlier than my reservation, but the cleaning person was almost done. The attendant told me someone would be up shortly to fetch (get it? ha) a doggy bed and a bowl. This time I stayed in the deluxe room with a king bed and online it showed a nice soaking tub. Enter room. Good sized bathroom. Bath/shower combo (a bit dated for sure, and the bubblers probably haven't worked in a decade or so). Due to COVID, I'm sure you have to ask for the little extra bathroom amenities and such. They provide some sanitizing wipes and a bar of soap, shampoo, body wash. Theres a good sized living space with couch and chair and tv, coffee table, desk. No mini bar (again, a COVID pre-caution), but you can pre-purchase small snacks and non-alcoholic choices from the front desk. Behind the next wall with long drapery if you wish to let it down is a king sized bed. The pillows were super comfortable. The bed....ehhh...not so much. A bit stiff and old for my liking. My view of the side parking lot was gorgeous. Sarcasm. Not sure this particular room was worth to shell out extra dough, and was disappointed by the restaurant downstairs this time. Usually Bambara is great, but for to go? For $55 (with tip) I got the filet with potatoes and vegetables. If my phone hadn't been out of battery I would've taken a picture. In the box when I got to my room, the meat had slid to one side, the 4 pieces of potato, and the strings of some other food mushed against it. Like it had a bad car accident. It was okay, but not great. Meh. Btw, never got the doggy bed or the bowl.

Dennis And Jess L.

Yelp
Meh. This hotel reminds me of an old hotel trying to be hip. It was ok for a night but not worth the cost. The room (1 King) was very small, had just a typical bathroom, which was not to the finish level of a nice 4+ star hotel (at the cost that I paid at Kimpton). I would not stay here again and would probably choose one of the other options downtown SLC.

Lawrence B.

Yelp
I'm in a newly renovated room. I can still smell the paint and or whatever toxic fumes are off-gassing into the air. I guess using fans or opening windows which are glued shut is not a possibility. So beyond the odor that feels as though it's giving us a headache, there is the air system that does not disperse air evenly though our suite and makes sounds like the room is at the airport, ala jet planes taking off with an ever slight vibration, just enough to ensure you don't sleep a wink all night long. So when you get up in the middle of the night sweating and nauseous, head to the bathroom, which is smaller than the closet. Pocket doors on a restroom/bathroom combo in a suite? Really? Boy this place sucks. To whomever designed this renovation and or signed off on/implemented these new plans, get a new job and stay out of the hospitality field forever. Don't fret too much over this review though, I'll probably get cancer and die from the noxious fumes I breathed in during my stay.

Brent M.

Yelp
Hotel Monaco it a beautiful boutique hotel that is well adorned from the lobby to each and every room. We have stayed here when coming in from out of town and now that we live in the area, it has become a staycation spot that we enjoy. Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, there is walkable access to historic Temple Square, the beautiful City Creek shopping plaza (complete with a fish-filled running creek, live plants and trees, and a roof that can close and retract depending on the weather), Gallivan Center, a myriad of excellent eateries, and the light rail that goes all over the valley (including directing to and from the airport). The staff has always been friendly and very accommodating. They go the extra mile to make sure your needs are met. The decor is eclectic while being both traditional and modern, which a great juxtaposition to the historic architecture that you find both outside and inside the hotel. The rooms are spacious and appointed with comfortable chairs, sofas, and beds that make you want to sleep in longer than you probably should. The decor is rich in color and design, taking care with the details. The soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and body washes are high quality (and frankly smell very good). You will love Bambara restaurant. It is great dining with wonderful service. We will continue to stay at the Hotel Monaco and recommend it to you, my friends.

Yelp
Great hotel! I was in SLC for 24 hours and location has ya right down town. The rooms are small, but other than that, no complaints! Free coffee bar in the morning, free wine reception with complimentary hors d'ouevres in the comfy lobby, great options of free newspapers (NYT, WSJ & local). The bed is comfy, the tv is nice. I had no views, not sure if that's an option for any of the rooms. Also, no free water in the room or the likes. Staff was super nice and friendly, the place is clean and upscale.

Yelp
We have stayed at the Monaco a few times and we keep coming back because of its central location, comfortable rooms, and overall positive experience; however, one thing to take into account is your room floor. This time we stayed on a suite, which we really liked, but the suite was in the second floor and the hotel has meeting rooms on this floor, and all the people attending the meetings and socializing in the halls, just a few steps from your room, can be very loud. If you are looking for a nice quiet room, request for your room to not be on the second floor.

Yelp
This was easily one of my favorite hotel stays to date! The staff was so attentive and helpful, the minibar in the lobby had great options that were reasonably priced for a hotel (the hotel-branded gummy bears OMG), and I had everything I needed throughout my stay. They even texted to make sure I was okay when they hadn't heard for me lol I stayed here for 6 days/5 nights in the Corner King suite. It was spacious, clean, with beautiful views of the mountains from every window. I had a keurig in my room for morning coffee, ample outlets and lamps to keep the room cozy and entertaining, the hotel staff even left me a bottle of apple cider and some chocolates to celebrate my approaching birthday. This was a very seamless trip and Kimpton's thoughtful gestures throughout my time in Salt Lake City has solidified them as my first choice for hotels whenever I visited again.

Yelp
Valet only. Horrible service by front desk. Otherwise cute hotel. If service was better, I would choose this hotel the several times a month I come here. I thought I would give it a try. Back to my other option now!

Yelp
Great hotel! Horrible managers. They are rude when you check in. Also when I asked for ice they screamed at me. The manager is mean. Don't stay here.

Yelp
Enjoyed a night here on a staycation- clean, comfortable and friendly. We were thrilled with the cozy bed and quiet room. It is in a great part of the city and we had a nice view. There is no room service. They do not provide parking so that was annoying after paying so much for the room to have to also pay to park but that was the only disappointment.

Yelp
Beautiful old hotel!!! I love that they have a very nice place to eat and also a great little bar! You don't have to leave the hotel to have a complete night. The room was very clean and had a great view of Downtown Salt Lake City!!!

Yelp
I leave SLC with a five star review. We spent our last night in the city at the Monaco, like we did four years ago on our first night in SLC. The only difference is a new dog and dashed hopes. The Monaco is the same excellent, dog friendly hotel; expensive, but probably worth it. Salt Lake City has some new window dressing, but it basically remains the same theocratical, provincial town, with rigidity an integral part of its social fabric. The Salt Lake City Monaco originally gave us false hopes, but this time the Monaco provided a comforting departure. Thanks.

Yelp
Well, heck. I have long wished to stay at The Monaco and at last had cause for a night to myself. The website boasts Frette linens, room service, and beautifully appointed rooms. You know when you have a rare night to yourself and you begin to dream about what it will be like? And you browse hotel websites. And you imagine cozying up in luxurious Frette with room service from glorious Bambara. I will say that the staff were attentive, warm, and as accommodating as they could be, given the circumstances. But the blatantly false advertising entirely ruined the experience. I mean, had the room been $99 instead of $200, my expectations would not have been as lofty. Except for, you know, the false advertising. No Frette linens (rather stiff and scratchy industrial motel-type linens), cheap and damaged veneers and wall "paper", and no room service. Other comparable hotels continue to offer room service during COVID, and can do so safely. At the very least, update your website. I would've ruled one star, if not for the gracious service by staff. I want my money back.

Yelp
Kimpton SLC has a lot to like.... good restaurant, comfortable lobby, nice grown up bar, SLC hospitality, and nice rooms. Great value on most recent stay from Priceline, $132 + tax. Price can vary greatly depending on vacancies. Delicious (included) coffee station in the lobby. For me, this is huge. Most hotels don't have good coffee, much less free. They also have a nice fireplace. I didn't have a car but associate did and valet is good service and reasonable price. The only possible negative (or big plus depending on your situation) is that when traveling for business they allow pets and dogs. Last night they were scratching and barking in room next door. I was so tired I fell asleep anyway.

Yelp
The staff is very rude. I recommend finding a place that prides itself for excellent customer service.

Yelp
This is a cool remodel of an old bank building in the heart of downtown SLC. The rooms were nicely appointed even if my view was of the building just a few feet next door. The beds were comfy, the water pressure was perfect and the on site restaurant was great for breakfast. Easy walking distance to shopping, dining and nightlife....or the Mormon temple if you're not a heathen like me.

Yelp
I wanted to do a little weekend getaway for my boyfriend for his birthday. This hotel exceeded my expectation. From the very open stylish rooms, to the high end toiletries provided. The staff was so helpful. They eve had a free wine and beer hour in the lobby from 5pm-6pm. A cute little hot chocolate bar as well. I know this sounds silly, but when you're a woman let's face it, we have to pack 15x's more things in our bags. We are bound to forget something. The simple little touches at this hotel is what made it so amazing. There's a list of "I got you" items that they have available. Also full sized shampoo and conditioner in the shower, made my little heart happy. No trying to squeeze out enough but not take all dilemma here. They had a little goodie tray that had items for sale as well. Those prices of course were way over priced, but I understand and expect that. They even have a lovers kit. That was a first time I had ever seen one of those. I would stay here again for sure. I look forward to coming back in the future. We were on the 15th floor and the view was amazing as well.

Yelp
We stayed here for a night out of town. We are local but would be drinking and didn't want to drive. We reserved a suite but spoon arrival were told that the suites were sold out. They put us on the 7th floor. We got off the elevator and we're hit with a stench and 2 big dogs barking in a room. We checked out our room and it was so musty and wet smelling we immediately went back to the front desk and said we'd find another place to stay. The front desk gentleman was less than helpful and said we could leave but would still be charged. He put us in another room on the 12th floor that wasn't much better. The hotel is very outdated, loud and doesn't smell good. The one good thing this hotel has is the restaurant Bombara.

Yelp
I had trouble with my room being so close to the elevator and noise level at night . I went to the front desk and Aliza gave a warm smile and addressed my problem immediately. My room was switched and I slept perfectly the next nights on. There's coffee downstairs and delicious hot chocolate to sip next to the fireplace. We've had great service at the Vault bar . And the location is in walking distance to all things downtown. Would recommend

Yelp
Stayed here while in town for work, brought the wife and the furry friends. The staff was super friendly upon arrival. They don't offer a business center however the front desk still printed out documents for me. Thanks guys! It was my first time staying here and it was mainly for the relax pet policy which was great! Close waking to all the fun areas downtown. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Spent valentines here with my stripper side piece. Mission accomplished. The front desk was top notch at not disclosing that I was staying there when she called looking for me.

Yelp
Traveled on business and this was a great stay for several reasons: --Super cute hotel with a boutique vibe --Chic lobby space for working or lounging --Room was clean, cozy and stocked with quality toiletry items --Comfy bed --Yoga mat offered in each room --Employees were kind and offered great service --Was offered wine while I waiting at the front desk while they tracked down a package I sent to the hotel --Forgot my contact solution, and they offer me contact solution, complimentary --Infused water and ice tea bar in the afternoon in the lobby --Beer and wine reception every evening in the lobby --Close to restaurants All the little details added up to a wonderful impression and a great stay. My only complaint is that I sent a package to the hotel, and they had a hard time tracking it down because whoever received it put it in the "outgoing mail" section. It took a third or fourth employee who went above and beyond to triple check and found it.
