This property almost got a perfect score. Firstly the staff was always friendly and incredibly welcoming. Michael at the front desk made the absolute best first impression and continued to be astonishing for the duration of my stay. Rooms need just a little updating, mostly cosmetic. The bed was not entirely comfortable. I tossed and turned quite a bit, too hard mostly, and then a sunken hole where the mattress had been worn. City view suite lacked any city views. Overall, it was a great stay. Location was great. I’d definitely recommend.

Beautiful big rooms. Shower was literally 30 or 40 square feet. Easily the biggest shower I’ve ever been in. Lots of marble too! Bathroom was gorgeous, beds soft, rooms very very clean. Nice reasonable mini bar selection. Beautiful lobby. I LOVE the Kimpton hotels. Joint in wood floor /carpet was fraying and carpet had some stains. Otherwise nearly perfect.

Great experience. Staff was welcoming, attentive and responsive to our requests and needs. Perfectly situated near many great restaurants, bars and shops giving you tons to do. Neighborhood felt safe enough for my pregnant wife and I to walk around at night. Only feedback I'd offer would be that room service took a little longer than I would have liked but given it was a busy weekend hotel with a wedding and several local events filling up the hotel, a delay is fair and expected. Would strongly recommend.

Very nice hotel. Location is a bit odd. Lobby is nice, front desk staff are very professional and courteous. Hallways are dark (weird odor the day in was there), elevators are small. Room is very spacious, nice, clean, shower was all glass and huge. Largest tv in any hotel I have stayed in. Will stay again. Only complaint, you need to insert your room key into some switch on the wall to turn on many of the lights. (I know... its energy savings)

We just had a 1 night stay and it was nice. We didn't really utilize all the M&R had to offer. However, the beds and linens were luxurious. The pillows were perfect, and the condition kept the perfect temp. We could hear no road noise, and with the blackout shades, we could have slept all day. The bathroom was spacious with a massive shower. The view from our room was a bit gritty, but we were in DC, that's how it goes.

Beautiful accommodations. Super soft bed, amazing bathroom, perfect water pressure in the shower. We stayed on the 10th floor right below the bar, so we heard a lot of loud partying directly above the bedroom. Something to keep in mind if you decide to want to start on the top floor for the view: you'll likely hear partying above you (this was a Friday night so it wasn't a surprise) The pool is much smaller than the photos taken on Google. Food portions are fairly sized, they were meant to be for a single servicing for one person. We asked.

We had absolutely a wonderful time during our stay. Retro design throughout, room was clean and everyone there was friendly and very nice and accommodating. From the reception desk, to the bellhop, to the bartender to the cooks. We had breakfast there every morning, it was great and the organic coffee was a welcome treat. They made our stay in Washington absolutely the best for our very first mother and daughter vacation. Remodeling will be under way for next year. We hope to return to see the new renovated hotel.

This is a REALLY nice hotel. The room we stayed in was immaculate, and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. They lend out bicycles to guests. There were a few shortcomings, though. When I booked the room, the reservation information said free Internet was included, but literature in the room said it would be part of an extra $21/day "package". As we were just staying for one night, I didn't feel like hashing it out with the front desk. Our king room was spacious, but there was only one chair -- a desk chair, so there was nowhere to sit and put up my feet while waiting for my spouse to get ready, unless I took off my shoes. The gorgeous bathroom had zero towel racks. The huge television (at least 5' wide) had 40-some channels, all of which were clearly identified by network but provided no information about the programs that were playing. (I have a smaller television made by the same company and no cable, but I can still get schedule information from it.) The TV was also kind of amusing in that it had a series of menus concerning amenities and nearby sites for some other city. If I were visiting Washington again, I might stay here again, but I would look around to see if there were better deals.
