"Kimpton properties are known for their pizzazz, and Charlotte's Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel is no exception. It's fashion-forward but never in-your-face; jazzy, but not over-the-top. The rooms and suites sport a fresh, modern look with boldly patterned carpets, chrome-accented furnishings, and upholstered headboards. The sleek marble bathrooms complete the polished, yet nontraditional look. In addition to in-room spa services and a yoga deck, the hotel's fitness center has all the equipment you'd need." - Nancy DePalma

Just checked into Kimpton Tryon Park and I had to write this review right away … I’m literally on the balcony soaking it all in! I’m getting out of my Uber across the street from the hotel, and out of nowhere, Dre (one of the valet guys) runs across to help me with my bags. He didn’t even know I was a guest yet—he just saw someone with luggage and jumped into action. I told him I was heading to the hotel and when I looked at his shirt, I was like, “ I’m actually staying with you guys!” 🥹 He was so sweet! Then he introduced me to Austin at the front desk and whew, talk about friendly, professional, and genuinely warm. I immediately felt welcome and cared for. Huge thank you, Austin, you made check-in feel like coming home seriously. Now let’s talk about the elevators top-tier security. You can’t even go up without a room key, which I love, but I was moving a little slow figuring it out 😅 and Tanya stepped in to help me with such patience and grace. Thank you, Tanya! This hotel is stunning and employees are attentive, and the level of customer service here? Next level. I truly feel like I’m being treated like royalty. If you’re coming to Charlotte, this is the place to stay. Kimpton Tryon Park, whoever did your hiring kudos. You hired with intention and it shows. ❤️

This hotel upheld my standards and expectations for the Kimpton brand. We love and frequent Kimptons due to the exceptional service, luxury, and accommodation for my large breed dog. Front desk and valet team went above and beyond to ensure convenience and hospitality during my stay. Location is great for those traveling with a dog since there is a nice park directly across the street and close to many bars/restaurants. Rooms are spacious and clean. Enjoyed my stay and will definitely return in the future.

Location is convenient though you should be warned you are directly in the middle of a major metropolitan city and there are sketchy individuals who frequent the area around the hotel (no fault of the hotel). We had no major incidents but there was a guy who stood outside the hotel on the corner yelling pretty much every time we walked outside. Staff was excellent. They always opened the door for us, answered any questions we had and were very polite. Parking under the hotel was super convenient (at $30 per night). The elevators are weird in the fact that you have to select your floor and scan your room key on a touch screen before getting on the elevator. I mean it works and I’m sure it’s good security but idk it just took some getting used to. Also there is no direct service via elevator to the basement garage or the rooftop bar meaning if you want to go to either of these you must take the elevator to the lobby then get off then select where you’re going then get back on the elevator. For instance to get to the basement where my car was I had to take the elevator from the floor my room was on to the lobby. Get off. Select basement. Then get back on the same elevator I was just on to get to the basement garage. Weird. Views were nice even though we didn’t get a park view. Not a bad experience for the money.

As wedding photographers, we’ve had the pleasure of capturing several couples getting ready at Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, and it’s always a fantastic experience! The rooms are spacious, modern, and beautifully designed, with large windows that provide stunning natural light—perfect for photography. The hotel’s chic and contemporary style creates a sophisticated backdrop for those special moments before the ceremony. Beyond the aesthetics, its prime Uptown Charlotte location makes it a convenient and stylish choice for couples and their wedding parties. The staff is always professional and accommodating, ensuring a seamless experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxurious and photogenic setting in Charlotte!

Personally, I totally regret staying at this hotel and paying this amount for a hotel that did not give me”class” or “luxury”’experience. I was highly disappointed. This was my first time in Charlotte and I expected more. The photos and images really is not what you see. Once I arrived, I was not impressed. The hallways did not smell the best. In addition, there were two stains on the floor one by the chair and one by the bed. I am like how is this even possible. In addition, it is loud as well especially during the nighttime.

Google
A brilliant stay and our first Kimpton hotel stay. The hotel is brilliantly located in walking distance to most sights and things to do in Uptown including the stadium. Staff are very friendly, cleaning staff do a good and the rooms are very well equipped with comfortable beds and a very nice bathroom. We would happily return and recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Charlotte. We stayed on the 17th floor and had no noise issues whatsoever

Google
The hotel was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. However, the amenities were disappointing. The rooftop terrace doesn’t open until 4:30 p.m., and aside from that, there’s really nothing else: no pool, no rooftop access during the day, and only a small gym. For the price, it didn’t feel worth it.

We stayed here on a reward night for my wife’s birthday. The staff absolutely crushed it. They hooked us up with free macaroons, free dessert for our room service, a free upgrade to an 18th floor room with a view of the ballpark, and threw in a free bottle of prosecco! Far beyond what I could have expected. I am platinum elite and this drives home why I opt for Kimptons on special events time and again. They really do a great job. P.s. we also really enjoyed dinner and breakfast at Angelines, the restaurant downstairs. The NY Strip was excellent in particular, and at breakfast the chef’s omelette really stood out with red peppers and bacon in it.

Yelp
Here for a wedding reception. Beautiful hotel and the location is in the hub of all the attractions. As we waited for the wedding party, I observed the artwork of various artist in the area. The staff working the reception were professional and nice. The hors d'oeuvres - deviled eggs, steamed shrimp, steak kobobs were delicious. The main course - grilled chicken breast, steak, salmon, mashed and sweet potatoes were delicious. Seasoned to perfection. Nice hotel for receptions, meetings, showers, etc.

Yelp
Stayed at the Kimpton Tryon for one night in Charlotte with my mom and sister. While our stay was short, we left more than satisfied with our experience! To start, the hotel is beautiful and captures the essence of Charlotte. We appreciated the decor, as well as the flora throughout the lobby. It is very clean and the hotel itself is run very smoothly. The location is also noteworthy, as it is located across from a lovely park and is within walking distance of many uptown attractions and eateries. The valet, check in, and check out was efficient and effortless. The staff is very welcoming, attentive, and accommodating. They offered us complementary waters and we truly felt that they wanted to do what they could to help us! The lobby staff also held our bags and car while we ate brunch after we checked out. We were able to return to the hotel after brunch and grab our belongings. They offer a happy hour with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. This was very nice, as the hors d'oeuvres included brick oven pizzas from their restaurant Angeline's. We really enjoyed the happy hour and socializing with some of the staff about local recommendations for food and shopping. The hotel gym, located on the 4th floor, was also nice. It had everything you needed to get a good workout in! My mom visited the rooftop bar (21+) and thought it was cool, with a nice view of the city. Our room was a double queen park view. We were on the sixth floor and had a perfect view of the baseball stadium nearby! My mother is a platinum member, and they left a note in our room along with complimentary kettle corn for her loyalty. The room itself was roomy, with a chic flair to it. The attention to details is what really makes Kimpton's stand out. The beds were comfortable and we all had a good nights sleep. The bathroom was really nice, with a super hot shower. Overall the room was more than satisfactory! All in all, I would recommend staying at the Kimpton Tryon in Charlotte! Everything about our stay was more than adequate. The service is very kind and we felt that the staff truly wanted to make us comfortable. The hotel is kept clean and we appreciated the various complimentary things they offered. This is a very nice hotel, and once again, we left very pleased with our stay at a Kimpton!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience I had thanks to the guest services team. A shout out to Kayla for making our anniversary so memorable! She remembered our special event and provided a special touch with a welcoming message and chocolate dipped strawberries sent to the room, which was all unexpected. This place has a nice rooftop bar, Merchant and Trade, opening from 5 p.m. with a separate elevator entrance. It has a nice view of the city and great food selection to pair with your drink. Our server was attentive and didn't forget about us in the corner. It's a popular spot so get here early if you want to be seated near the heating lamp outdoors during a cold windy day. This place was busy with a wedding event, a game, and tourists in the area. But, they handled everything fairly well with a packed lobby of wedding guests and stressed out employees. All the streets were closed off for an event so valet was hectic. In the midst of the chaos, Will came through for me and noticed me lost waiting in the cold. Will consider coming back to this place due to the special attention each person gave.

Yelp
Had a wonderful weekend at this hotel! Was treated like royalty, and everyone was helpful and very friendly! A special shout out to Otis, the restaurant manager, and all of the men and women at the front desk, including DeMarco and Kim! Overall, drinks and food were wonderful, and the rooftop bar had amazing views! I especially appreciate your accommodation of a microwave when requested for the room. Will definitely return and hope to see all of you again soon!!

Yelp
My recent stay at the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel was an absolute delight. As a loyal IHG rewards member and frequent business traveler, I was able to utilize my points for an extraordinary experience. Our corner room on the 12th floor offered stunning views of the Charlotte Knights baseball stadium, the park, and the city's skyline. The scene was not only breathtaking but also added a touch of romance, as my spouse and I were celebrating our 13-year anniversary. The hotel's location was ideal for exploring downtown Charlotte. We enjoyed wandering around, immersing ourselves in the lively nightlife. To add some extra fun to the mix, we rented scooters, zipping around the city to reach our downtown dinner spot. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the exclusive rooftop bar. With guaranteed entry for guests, it provided a vibrant nightlife atmosphere along with an exceptional view of the downtown Charlotte skyline. Sipping cocktails under the stars was an unforgettable experience. The Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel surpassed my expectations in every way. The staff's hospitality and attention to detail were outstanding, making us feel truly pampered. They even left a hand-written note thanking me for my loyalty to IHG, with a complementary wine & cheese plate for us to enjoy. From the charming room to the captivating rooftop bar and the hotel's central location, it was the perfect backdrop for our anniversary celebration. I'm eager to return and relive these wonderful memories.

Yelp
Nice hotel in convenient Uptown Charlotte. Close to restaurants, Bank of America Stadium. Centrally located walking distance in the middle of everything Uptown. Clean room. A few more accessible power outlets would be nice. Beautiful, popular and crowded Rooftop Bar that opens at 5PM. Call and reserve table or lounge area or you will be standing. We waited 2 hours for a table for 4. They were allowing a 2 hour maximum time per table use on Saturday night. Also, a line quickly forms for the elevator to the rooftop. (Have your ID with you to show the security guy at the lobby elevator to the roof.) My complaint is the noise. Inside and outside still going at 3:30AM. Outside are cars racing, loud engines reviving up, and a lot of people until early morning hours. Crazy Loud! I realize it's in the heart of the city but WOW be prepared to not sleep. The bed was cozy. Requested foam pillows but Down Feathers were in the room. Valet Parking and friendly, helpful check in. I know it's not the hotels fault for the outside noise and this was a Saturday Night, but just be aware. It's like being at a NASCAR race as far as noise.

Yelp
Other than going to the restaurant. There is nowhere you can get a simple beverage like a Coke. When I asked the front desk they did not even mention refilling my mini bar. Horrible customer service the entire stay. I would give it a zero if I could.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY THERE I WILL NOT GO BACK EITHER -NOPE - you cannot pay me enough to stay here 4 star hotel with motel level cleanliness 1 star for the service - front desk people are nice (hence the one yelp star here) but front desk and the rest of the hotel has major communication barrier Let me list all the unfortunate events during my 2 night of stay in October 2022. I was here for business. So I just needed a place to sleep. My days were packed and my meals were taken care of at my business meetings. Day 1: 1pm tried to check in. Room wasn't ready bc it's being cleaned. Front desk sent me walking up to 3rd floor so I can work there. Walked myself and my stuff up saw a tiny cafe style high chair business area that seats 4... ugh They didn't give me the Wi-Fi code. So I walked myself back down the stairs. Asked when will room be ready? We will text you. It will be ready at 3pm 3pm my friends/colleagues all checked in - I was still sitting at the lobby. Waiting. Asked again. We are cleaning your room. Okay. Should be ready in a few. 5pm still sitting there waiting (my friend let me sit in her room while I wait for the text) 5pm went to front desk. My event starts at 5pm I need to change. I didn't fly down to Charlotte early in the morning so I can miss the event. Ohhh so sorry we didn't text you? Noooo 5:30pm into my room. Changed and rushed out to my event. 11:30pm back to my room - pulled out a chair to respond to an email. SAT ON A BUNCH OF COOKIE CRUMBS!! You got to be kidding me?!? Called the front desk. They said they will come up to clean. No come back in the morning please I have to sleep. Day 2 7am tried to brush my teeth looked down the sink - hair in the sink that didn't belong to me!!! Wow! Wow! All this time I was waiting I was placed in a room that's NOT CLEAN! Left the chair out so the cleaning staff can see Left the room at 8am 7pm came back to room. Bed was made. Sink still got hair that didn't belong to me. Chair pushed back but the crumbs were still there. $500 a night I slept in a slum. Went down to talk with the front desk. They said they will refund or take $150 off my total bill. But I have to eat at the restaurant to benefit from that! No sir no, I get free drinks and food at my business meetings. I don't need to spend more at this place. Just take it off my room charges. Okay. We will. Day 3 checking out at 11am (I can actually stay for one more night but I decided that I would rather go home) Asked about the $150 taking off my bill. New front desk girl said no such thing. I have to spend $150 here to get comp. I was furious. She went and talked to her manager then said check my cc statement they will take care of it. It is the end of second week in Nov. nothing was taken off the hotel charge bill. Besides that, the restaurant hours don't match their online info and front desk info. Good luck getting food from there. Positively - the view from room was decent. Roof top was covered. Free coffee and tea in the am at the lobby. Will NEVER stay at a Kimpton! Ever!

Yelp
It feels redundant to say that it's particularly memorable when reward stays actually feel rewarding, but I've been slotted into enough "leftover" rooms on award stays in the past (not with Kimpton, in particular, nor with IHG in general) to recognize when a property decides to go beyond the minimum assignment. In the case of Tryon Park Hotel, that updated standard was quite enjoyable and I won't soon forget it. The property itself is in a great part of town and worth choosing at least in part due to that. Uptown, especially around Bearden Park, is walkable and lively, without feeling cluttered. The city's light rail system isn't too far off, should your business or interests lie off of a Lynx line, though there truly is plenty to do within just a few blocks too. Fellow Yelpers mention the staff's proactive bent and that really is the house's not-so-secret special something. Nice, though it is, the space doesn't present itself as the star. The building itself still feels new and modern, with a hard-to-place-but-familiar vibe that's not out of place with its glassy, high-rise neighbors. Understated finishes in the guest rooms and lobby have a classic casual-meets-sophisticated appeal. This type of upper scale property could yield a perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable, stay without the type of team that's running the show currently. Enter all of the personal touches. From having a little fun with the music during the manager's evening wine hour to avoiding an inhospitable end to the same by topping off lingering guests' glasses with pours from the opened bottles; from leaving handwritten welcomes to remembering guest's names; from including worthwhile prizes in the secret password promotion to, seemingly, participating in most, if not all, of the Kimpton promotions/collabs, the property has leaned into the idea of empowering the staff. Where they could skim on time, they don't. This is a Kimpton exemplar. The space's design is elevated, but not gilded and the the hospitality is warm, without feeling pretentious, scripted or forced. A few (good) surprises here shouldn't comes as a surprise, but will probably delight all the same. Notes: *Many of the less favorable reviews mention a lack of amenities. Be sure to check the hotel's site to see what they have on offer! During my visit, nothing that should have been was unavailable, but complimentary breakfast (unless it's built into your rate, there's a promotion or you're being surprised), a pool and bathtub + shower options (at least in some of the room types) aren't standard.

Corey K.

Yelp
We stayed here on Saturday 4/27 and we got back from the Kenny Chesney concert and tried to go into the restaurant that wasn't closing for 15 minutes and we were told no that it was too late to eat. Horrible customer service for the expensive price you pay to stay here.

Ty J.

Yelp
If I could no stars I would... This hotel is GHETTO. The rates are damn near $600 a night and they don't even clean the hotel rooms. The video attached is from a lady that stayed at the hotel and checked into a DIRTY room. The employees are having relations in the rooms before the guest even check in including the management , don't waste your time or money. They steal peoples luggage and don't respect paying guests. I have witnessed customers stating that their children are finding USED condoms in the bedrooms as well. Red Roof Inn & a Motel 6 has a better reputation and are wayyyyy cleaner.

Eric D.

Yelp
I have found that I do like the Kimpton but they have fatal flaws for a business traveler. One is that they often mess up the Folio and I had one experience where I was unable to expense the hotel because it just said XXXX in the itemizations and the issue was they double charged me. This site, I asked for the Folio at check in and said they can only provide it after check out at the desk, The former Kimpton hotels I stayed at did not have this problem so i don;t know if this was true or not. The building is very challenging to find as it lacks signage and it took me a loop around the building to the a parking garage nearby which ironically was the garage for the building but this was by luck as I did not see adequate signage. The garage was nice though and it went right into the hotel lobby. The check in was uneventful other than no upgrade for me without paying. I had a room at the end of the hall that had decent view of the park outside. There was no bathtub in the room unfortunately (why I asked for the upgrade) but the shower did the trick and it was just 1 night. I went to their reception at 1730 which was a bread with some spready and a fruit that I did not care for and a small selection of wine. Appreciated but certainly not the Embassy Suites by Hilton. Overall, it was a fine hotel. Parking was sort of expensive for the self-park option which I recall was $30/night.

Amanda U.

Yelp
Pretty hotel but expensive for what you experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, probably the best thing about this place. The hotel itself is well kept and pretty. However, the beds are super firm and the pillows are very thin. Felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Our room was clean and had a lot of space. The parking situation was very frustrating with poor signage on where to park to take the correct elevator to the hotel. At $30 for self parking, they can at least get the signage right.

Alix J.

Yelp
Amazing location, spectacular view from the top, beautifully decorated, and friendly staff! Negatives- an expensive hotel with very little amenities. Confusing and frustrating tv options with poor internet, you have to download a bunch of apps to your phone, there's no cable or direct tv. The linens are cheap, there's no mini bar, no pool or hot tub or gym! There isn't even a coffee maker nor hot water in the room or the lobby, so making tea at night is impossible, you have to get room service or ask the restaurant for hot water. For the price point I feel there should be more amenities

Yelp
in for a couple days because my lovely bride wanted to visit museums and stuff and this is as close as I could find, literally just around the corner and down the block :-) no surprise that it's spendy to stay in the middle of everything: rewards club or real money it's gonna cost somebody something for convenience. so yeah, i'm a little lighter than last wednesday but we had a pretty good time of it. service was top notch, greeted warm and friendly like and handed two key cards and some cool refreshing waters (two more in the min-fridge because life is better that way.) the young man at the desk said if I wanted anything to just call down and ask - an agreeable aire that was maintained throughout our visit... back in late after a schmancy cajuny dinner and wanted to be up early for tourism but at least one of us is a late riser and got seriously comfy in the pillows and blanket... so after gymming for an hour I was downstairs for coffee and asked to have a coffee maker sent up because life is easier that way (they offered a small microwave but I declined) -- guessing that keeping the in-room appliances to a minimum helps it look and feel tidier while minimizing incidental damage to their stuff which makes perfect sense to me -- back in but not so late this time after Bechtler, the Mint, and dinner in the arcade next door and a trip to the rooftop lounge to enjoy the night air since our balcony wasn't accessible (insert man on a fainting couch emoji) as some super cute chick had left the "sleeping late" tag on the door and the staff will absolutely not intrude there. still, the full length windows meant we had a great view of Bearden Park and the ballfield both day and night. the constant drizzle kept the evening noise to a minimum and the overcast skies for the duration made waking up was easy... bummer of it is that we didn't have the opportunity to walk about and enjoy the greenery :-( probably gonna have a go at this again when the weather and the economy improve so we can explore what the city has to offer and maybe snag the big night badge before they are expired like the Review of the Day.

Yelp
Came here for my husbands birthday weekend. We decided to park and not use valet and the parking is $30 a day which is steep. We never used our vehicle for the rest of trip because we just walked everywhere. The check in was fast and the staff was really friendly and gave us comp bar cards and breakfast for two for both days. The room was clean and comfy. Loved some of the items offered on the mini bar. Went to the rooftop bar which had a great view and drinks. Very busy in the evening but we walked right in because we were guests. On our way out we tried Angelenes for breakfast and it was delicious. Would love to come back and stay. The view, the shower in room and the amazing staff made this place!

Yelp
We decided to stay at Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel for a quick over I stay in Charlotte. With the help of the GPS, it was an easy find. Pulling into the hotel was a bit confusing as it was a lot of cars and a tight space to pull in, get out bags, etc. However, for us it was not that big of a deal because we did not have much. Check in was a breeze. Everyone was really nice. Check in was quick and efficient, the nice young lady answered all of my questions and even provided some extras. Once I got our keys, we parked in the garage which is attached to the hotel. I believe parking is about $22 or so dollars per night and you pay as you depart. The hotel is in the middle of a lot of great places, so once you park you can literally walk to nice places to eat and lounge. Also, one of the rooftop bars, Merchant and Trade is attached. It was a really long line on the way from dinner and coming from dinner. Staying at the hotel does not grant you any special access to the rooftop. There is also an Italian restaurant attached. The hotel was pretty up to date and clean. I believe they had a small wine reception hour or a few minutes. I am not really sure because it was hard to tell and there was no information given about it. I just saw the guy setting up and pouring wine as I was getting on the elevator. The elevators are really up to date. You have to press your floor on the tablet and tap your key in most cases and pay attention to the elevator it tells you to get on. If you are not paying attention, you will get on the wrong elevator if other people are present. The room was really nice. I did a thorough check and it seemed to be cleaned well. The space was open. The bathroom was nice and bright. The decor was cute and modern. We utilized room service for a late snack. The menu was on the tv. It was a bit limited. I decided to pass, but my fiancé ordered the calamari. Room service was nice and timely. Check out was a breeze as well. All of the staff was extremely nice. We just signed the final bill and that was that. Overall, the service was great, the lobby and elevators are nice, the location is good, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Lastly, it was nice and peaceful. No noise at all.

Yelp
Overall this was a solid stay. There's nothing here that's a total wow, but all the aspects are solid. Location: Sort of on the edge of the downtown core, but it's still an easy walk to just about everything. The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is very close, as is the baseball park and a couple of city parks. Parking: Valet and self-parking available. The self-parking is easy and useful if you don't plan to go in and out. Elevators up to the lobby are right next to the self-parking area. Rooms: Sophisticated design, but more muted than Kimptons used to be. They used to be a fun riot of colors and patterns that somehow worked together, but now they've started to go for the upscale condo look. The bathroom is pretty standard-issue. I got one of the balcony rooms; the balcony itself is pretty small but still a nice feature and all of them overlook the park with the baseball stadium beyond. I got an extra bonus with a great view of the fireworks show after a game from the balcony. Lobby: Not much there, moving on Restaurant: Served a decent breakfast. I stopped by the bar for a nightcap one evening and the service was fine. Rooftop bar: Nice view and the drink service was pretty snappy. But I found the specialty cocktail menu a little limited and it was the kind of thing where they love to put burning twigs of herbs in your drink. You have to line up for the elevator off the lobby and wait for them to let up parties due to capacity limits. If the weather's bad, be aware that the line for the elevator will probably have you waiting outside part of the time. One pro tip: Ice machines are on every other floor and there is no re-entry onto the room floors from the stairwell! So you have to take the elevator if there's no machine on your floor. If you take the stairs, you will have to go all the way down to the street and come back in through the lobby. Not that this happened to me. Barefoot.

Yelp
I just want to say that our stay here for the weekend was great, until it came to checking out and found that items had been stolen out of our car while valeted by company that the Kimpton uses. The staff at the Kimpton were very nice and pleasant, but not at all helpful in rectifying an issue that was caused by a contractor that they use to valet vehicles for guests of the hotel. There was little no ownership demonstrated by either parting in resolving this issue. Here is an outline of the horrendous experience that I have endured since having my car valeted at the Kimpton in Charlotte by Parking Management. I have never had such little communication and lack of concern for rectifying a wrong against a customer. I went as far as emailing the president of the company and still have not gotten a response. Here is a detailed timeline of the events and communication. 2/7/22- upon retrieving our vehicle from the valet after checking out from the Kimpton we discovered that a pair of men's Gucci sunglasses (valued at $550) and $400 worth of coins and dollar bills were removed from the inner console of the vehicle. After escalating the concern to hotel management because we were told that a management representative for the valet services was not on site. Our information was collected and we were told we would be contacted and the concern would be resolved expeditiously. By the time we arrived home, I received an email from Billy Cease offering his assistance if the city manager (Matt) had not reached out to. After receiving the email; approximately at 10:00 pm that evening I received a call from Matt the city manager who stated he would have a resolution for us by 2/8/22 and would be reaching out to me with it. 2/10/22- I receive and email Julius Camp (general manager of Parking Management for the Kimpton) requesting information for the claim. 2/11/22- I responded to the email. Detailing the cost of the damages incurred due to the theft. The glasses $550 and money $400 totaling $950. 2/16/22- I reached out to Billy Cease (VP of the South East region of Parking Management) via email concerning the status of the claim and an estimated time of resolution since I had not gotten a response from Julius. That same day I received an email I received an email from the claims department wanting to only pay out $400 for the glasses that I had already submitted proof that they were $550. I asked for insights as to how this was calculated. 2/21/22- I reached out via email to Billy because I had not gotten a response to my 2/16/22 email. I received an email from Billy stating that he would have Julius look into my inquiry. 2/28/22- I reached out to both Julius and Billy via email asking for an explanation as to why the amount for the glasses was $400, as well as, to why it was the only line item included in the claim. At 9:51am I received an email from the claims department with a revised release for the cost of the glasses, reflecting the $550, but there was no mention of the $400 worth of coins and dollar bills that were taken as well. 3/1/22- I was in Charlotte, North Carolina for work. I decided to stop by the Kimpton to see if I could get a response in person as to why the total amount of damage was not being satisfied. The front desk manager told me that Julius was not on site to answer my question, but she called him and he told her that I needed to reach out to the claims department to get my requested insights. She gave me their contact information and I left the property. I reached out to the claims department, but no one was available to answer my question so I left a message. 3/2/22- I sent an email detailing that I had not received a call back, but wanted to know why the only the glasses were included in the claim. I got a prompt response stating that, "The amount of the glasses was the only amount authorized by our management in Charlotte." 3/5/22- I sent an email to president Matt Cahill detailing these same events and have not received a response. 3/9/22- I sent an email to Julius and Billy including the email that I received from their claims department and still have not gotten a response to date.

Yelp
While the front desk is helpful, this hotel lacks the capacity to host business travelers, especially those attending early functions and have to fly red eye. Although there were several guests checked out early Monday, more than those checking in, the hotel cannot accommodate early checkins. Rooms are only available after 3 pm. Is it hotel policy to not allow early checkins or just lack of efficient housekeeping to turn rooms quickly to accommodate business travelers? With Charlotte becoming a business hub, I'll strongly suggest to find other hotels if you're flying to attend a business function or booking one for your company.

Yelp
Went to Charlotte with friends and was pretty excited about this hotel. And to put it simply, was not disappointed in the slightest. Smooth check-in, great comp upgrade to a fantastic view of the stadium, and a cheeky "just chilling" extra bonus :) Bathroom was great as well. The room was impeccably clean, fantastic service, and excellent gym. The rooftop bar was amazing and really helped my friends and I get a glimpse into the Charlotte nightlife. - Spire Ambassador IHG member

Yelp
Someone here is a thief. I accidentally left over $1,000+ worth of wine in my room when I had to leave for a short trip. My bf saw it in the morning. He had to fly out as well and couldn't take it so he left it at the front desk with my name and told me. When I got back into town a couple days later I called the hotel to pick it up. I was told no they couldnt find it and if something isn't claimed within 24 hours it's thrown out, my bf wasn't told that as he would have told me and I would have arranged something. No one throws out that much expensive wine, it was stolen. If you stay here don't take anything of value. Jewelry, bags, gifts, cash, nothing. Staff will steal it.

Yelp
The hotel is centrally located, and an easy walk to many restaurants, bars, and other attractions. It's fairly new and well-maintained, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. They have both valet and self-parking options. The front desk/check in was a-ok, expect for the fact they had no luggage carts. This wasn't an issue for us, but might be problematic if you have a lot of bags to get to your room. The front desk seemed unaware of how many they had or if one would be available, and wasn't at all helpful about this item. This was odd, as we did not check in at a busy time.

Yelp
Firstly, I want to say that the Kimpton Hotel came highly recommended to me from a colleague in a similar position at another office in Charlotte (I am the administrative manager with a large corporation in Uptown Charlotte). So with her recommendation I went online to find out more about hosting a large meeting/event. Their website is impressive and informative, but I needed to speak to somebody to discuss in more detail the process of setting up, with presentations, lighting, room layout, sound etc. The events technology director, Michael's phone number was available, but unfortunately that was as good as it got. When I got talking to Michael, it was a let down to say the least. He was dismissive and at times rude to me over the phone. Any questions I had in relation to the space, pricing, equipment, etc. were met with a lack of interest or knowledge. I felt as if I was disrupting his day, in the end he cut me short and told me he had to go, and would give me a call back. (Which I never received). I did contact the hotel a few weeks back to speak with management to discuss my experience, I left my details but still have not heard anything back. I would like to discuss further, and hopefully make a booking as i do not belief you should loose business due to one individual.

Yelp
Beautiful rooms overlooking the ballpark. Amazing customer service & if you're lucky enough to get a room with a tub, it's almost life-changing!

Yelp
The Kimpton Tryon is a trendy boutique hotel in the heart of Uptown. We were greeted by friendly desk staff in nicely dressed suits adorned with a bee pin. I used to be a Kimpton Karma Rewards member and now they are part of IHG. They were able to pull up my number by my phone number so all was easily connected. Lobby: open with high ceilings and some seating options. I noticed in the evening, there are two security employees by the restaurant that ask if you are going to the restaurant, roof top bar or the restrooms. Elevators: In order to get to the sleeping rooms, you do need to scan your key card on the panel and then select the floor. You will not find buttons inside the elevator. The meetings rooms are on the 3rd floor. Sleeping Rooms: I loved my room with a plush king bed and very nicely appointed furniture. I had a corner view with a great view of the surrounding city buildings. There is a safe in a drawer, a tray with snack assortment for purchase and USB outlets . I did not find a coffee machine and asked at the front desk. They told me they do not outfit the rooms with coffee machines and perhaps you can request one. The bathrooms have showers and full size bottles of the Atelier brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash. If you forget an item like a razor or a toothbrush, just call the front desk and they will deliver it to you. There are two robes hanging in the closet, an umbrella , iron and yoga mat. Events: we had a customer dinner event and the food was nicely arranged. The staff was very professional and helpful. I had a fantastic stay and would love to come back the next time I am in Charlotte. I also did not get a chance to try the rooftop bar or see the view so that is still on my list for the next visit.

Yelp
We are fans of Kimpton. No complaints other than the fact that we requested a crib twice and both times the pack and play they provided us with were broken. The management should do a better job of personally checking baby items and disposing of anything thats broken. Thankfully we werent desperate but they should do a better job with kids gear.

Yelp
Check-in was delayed. When I asked to speak with the hotel manager, the front desk staff would only provide the front desk manager who was not available.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this hotel. We were greeted by Demarco, a manager, who couldn't have been nicer and he bent over backwards to accommodate our special needs with parking, a service dog and literally everything we needed. He was just amazing, in every way. We also had the pleasure of meeting the guest services manager, Eric, who was so helpful and kind. We ran into some issues, unrelated to the hotel and he went out of his way to get involved and help. He was beyond kind and he made sure we were taken care of, beyond what anyone else would ever do. We had the opportunity to order in room dining from the Italian restaurant connected to the hotel, called Angeline's. I am not kidding when I say it was the best Italian food I've had.. ever. Every person that works at this hotel is stellar. They are kind, gracious hosts that make it their focus to make every guest feel important and special. The accommodations are clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. I worked in hospitality at many properties and I am a picky guest when I stay at hotels. In this case, I could not find one negative thing about any portion of my stay. This is literally the first 5 star review I have ever given any hotel

Yelp
Very Nice! We came for a wedding and stayed for two days. The entire hotel is very clean. The lobby, the elevators, the room, the restaurant, everything. Rooms were tastefully decorated, and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms as a very nice size. My only gripe is that the water temperature was either hot or ice cold. I had a hard time finding a comfortable middle ground. They had free (very good) coffee in the lobby and a nice "social hour" with wines, and hot cider with bourbon and cinnamon sticks! The location is fantastic, plenty of plenty of venues, restaurants and not far from the airport. I would would be sure to stay again and highly recommend to anyone staying in Charlotte!

Yelp
From start to finish, my experience with the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel was a delight. I only stayed for a single night (I brought my grandmother, also a huge baseball fan, to Charlotte for an overnight to see the Knights vs Bulls game for the 2019 opening series), but the excellent staff, clean/comfy rooms, fantastic neighborhood area, and overall experience definitely left an impression. I had reserved the room on Hotels.com, which gave me a bit of a deal. I had requested a 2 bed setup with a view of the ballpark, which is what I received upon check-in. Especially great, since it was a bit cold by the end of the game... but my grandmother and I still wanted to see the post-game fireworks. We ended up opting to walk back to the hotel and watch the fireworks from inside the warmth of our room. Delightful. The location near Romare Bearden Park adds a quality touch to a stay at this hotel, as the park is so well maintained - and beautiful to walk through at night because of the water features and all. Above all else though, the staff here was absolutely wonderful and welcoming. We were provided all the information we needed, and wanted, to know... and advised on the happy hour, great places to eat around the neighborhood, and so on. As we were walking to our room post-check-in, my grandmother comments about how lovely the man who had helped us was. Service by desk staff can truly make or break a hotel experience, and the folks assisting at the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel are top notch. TL;DR Loved it. Would recommend without hesitation. Quality hotel experience right here.

Yelp
Thoroughly impressed This is a very modern hotel with modern amenities and staff to match the fee of the property. The room had floor to ceiling windows facing the park with 9' ceilings. Being tall I notice the ceiling height as a huge bonus right away. It's nice when hotels feel new and fresh and not just retrofit into an older designed space. It was wine hour in the lobby when we arrive and has a couple glasses of complimentary wine. Followed by drinks on their stunning rooftop bar. I travel a lot and it's always nice to be surprised by a hotel being better than expected. The wonderfully friendly staff are the cherry on top.

Yelp
Hotel was centrally located and had a rooftop bar and on-site restaurant. This hotel does allow animals so definitely ask for the pet free floor if you want to avoid dog hair or animal odor in the room. The room and beds were clean. You can get to most places in town for under $10 with Uber. You're in walking distance to restaurants and nightlife.

Yelp
Stayed here during Labor Day weekend for a staycation as we live in Charlotte. The hotel was pretty expensive compared to other hotels in Charlotte but they did have amazing service and attention to detail. This includes opening the door for you when you walk in and being able to text them anything you need or questions this way you don't have to call or go down to the desk. We did have a noisy stay due to the bar across the street Ink n Ivy, it's not the hotels fault but if I wanted sleep I would probably not recommend. Only thing I would have like to see was a pool or jacuzzi as this sets the vibe to relax. But besides that it was a nice hotel and the lobby smelled so good.

Yelp
We loved this hotel! We came for a football game. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great location to walk everywhere downtown and the stadium. Would definitely reccommend.

Yelp
Very nice and clean hotel! Located in uptown Charlotte, you're near everything! Parking is easy, the garage is very accessible and not too bad for the price. Staff welcomed me and informed me about the wine reception they have everyday day at 5pm. You get two tickets for complimentary wine, so that's nice they're still offering this. Of course it isn't as social as you would think since we're in the middle of a pandemic, but it's still nice to get a glass or two and chill at the bar. My room was beautiful, the view wasn't THAT great, considering I was starring into an office building but you can still see a little of The Queen City skyline and surrounding buildings. Very chic, very clean, If you want to stay somewhere in uptown, give the Kimpton a try!

Laura K.

Yelp
Stayed here with a few girls friends over Halloween weekend. Super kind and accommodating staff! Beautiful building, perfect location and great restaurants throughout. The restaurant attached to the Lobby is much easier to be seated in compared to the rooftop (you'll need reservation further in advance for that) For the restaurant attached to the lobby, I would recommend the carbonara and Caesar salad. Overall it was a quick, yet memorable stay. I would stay here again!

Yelp
I was at this venue last weekend for a birthday party. Location is great. Venue is gorgeous. But the staff!?! This front desk associate BriAnna was AMAZING. I was carrying a gift bag and the glitter on it rubbed off on my dress. She ran over to me. Rode in the elevator with me and used the roller brush to get all the glitter off. She did all this without hesitation or me asking. Her energy and customer service was a hole vibe.

Yelp
We used to love this place and stayed there several times. It has been 3 years since our last stay. The place looks and feels run down. We got a suite room and the A/C would not cool the room. The cleanliness of the room was severely lacking. Even when we tipped the cleaning staff generously they did the bare minimum and sometimes not even that. The other couple we made the trip with had dried blood on their sheets. We will not stay here again on trips to Charlotte.

Yelp
It's shiny, it's bright and the price is right! I've been visiting Charlotte for a few years now, and although I've stayed at some nice hotels, I always (with disappointment) wondered why there was not a Kimpton option in this fine city. To my most pleasant surprise, I was able to book a reasonably priced room here just a few weeks after opening. While the rooftop lounge here seems to be in high demand (and as you may have read elsewhere, requires a dress code) it seems as though the guest traffic was a little slower during my stay. Like other Kimpton's you can expect certain brand consistencies: $5 raid the mini bar (Kimpton Rewards), free in room wi-fi, comfy robes, and a flair of unique decor is always part of the experience that I look forward to. All this was on point, and the staff (per usual) were friendly and helpful. One feature I was not aware of was the complimentary ride service you can inquire about within a certain proximity. To my surprise, I was escorted outside taken outside to a Maserati SUV which shuttled me to dinner. I did not fight the gesture. Also, I called for room service once for coffee since there are no coffee makers in the rooms. (Or at least, there was none in mine.) The point of contact that took and delivered my order was so incredibly warm and hospitable, I couldn't help but feel that coffee order was just a little extra special. As for the rooftop lounge and bar, I can understand why guests are a little annoyed that you can't wear athletic shoes etc due to the dress code, but I don't think it's a huge deal. There's a restaurant on the main level where you can also order a drink, so it's not without an alternative. I did have an opportunity to check out the rooftop prior to my departure, and while it's a fresh, beautiful open space I didn't really feel a desire to linger. (Oh and there was a line just to go up in the elevator already at 5pm, so keep that in mind.) Overall, if you're staying at the hotel as a guest, you're in good hands. Service is great, the property is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, peaceful and clean.

Yelp
I always love Kimpton hotels and Tryon Park was no exception. At first I was a little concerned seeing the star rating, but then quickly realized it was all about the dress code at the rooftop bar and not the hotel itself. With their grand opening special I was able to snag a room at a decent price and off to the Kimpton Tryon Park I went! The location is great and super walkable to about a million things in the area. Valet parking was easy and the lobby is bright and pretty. Valet parking was $32 for one night which seems pretty steep to me. Check-in was a breeze and my room was super nice. I just love all the attention to decor they put in to each room. No bath but the shower was big and nice. The shampoo and condition they offer was great as well. I forgot my phone charger in my car which was with valet. I saw on the "Forgot Something?" sheet that an iPhone charger was an option along with your standard things like toothpaste. I called the front desk and they had a charging cable available for use, I just had to head down to get it. Score! The next morning I had trouble getting the blowdryer to turn on, after multiple tries I called the front desk to see if I was missing something. After all I know my way around a blowdryer and could just not get the darn thing to turn on. The front desk called engineering and someone was at my room within five minutes to help me. The circuit in the bathroom was tripped and after a few tries we were able to get the blowdryer on in the room and in the bathroom. Of course it pretty much worked right away once engineering was there! Check-out was easy and the front desk staff continued to be super friendly. The infused water in the lobby was also great, they had cranberry and other festive flavors for the season. Would love to stay here again!

Yelp
The view is awesome. Check in was a breeze and she was very courteous. Room looks great. Canned water!!! What more can I say.

Yelp

Yelp
I really, really wanted to give this place 5 stars. The hotel is brand new, just opened on November 1st. It's beautiful, unique, modern, and clean! Great location, it's in the middle of everything. Walking distance from shops, restaurants, and the Bank of American stadium. However, it seems like they are still trying to figure things out. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly valet attendant who tried his best to explain the parking situation and rates, but couldn't give us the correct information. It was something along the lines of $32/day for valet or $22 for the day, but it resets at midnight...? So we might be looking at $44 per day. He explained he was unsure and suggested that we ask the front desk. This made us uncomfortable with making any decision one way or another at all. Another valet attendant, Tom came up to us and suggested we park across the street for free but we have to move our car in the morning before security starts checking parking. We went with Tom's suggestion, and it worked out fine. He also helped unload our bags and take them to our room. On our way to the hotel, we had called to inquire about their restaurant, Angeline's hours. We were told that they have full service until 11pm. Given our ETA, it would have worked out perfectly for us. We checked in after 9pm on a Friday night and asked the front desk staff to confirm their restaurant (Angeline's) hours. We were then told that the kitchen closes at 10pm, which pressed us for time. So, we went upstairs to get settled then headed down for dinner. We later found out that Angeline's serves pizza only between 10pm-11pm. No worries. Our room was on the 7th floor. As soon as you exit the elevator you could smell the "newness." Our room was beautiful! It was modern and elegant. We also had a great view of the city, especially the BoA building. We left early the next morning to run errands. When we returned in the afternoon, we noticed a firetruck as well as a group of people outside the building. We pulled up to the valet and was informed that the fire alarm went off, but they do not believe there's a real fire. We were asked to drive around and call the front desk to check the status. We parked at a nearby garage and waited about 15 minutes before calling the front desk. We were put on hold for more than 5 minutes, so we decided to walk to the hotel to check the status. Fortunately, they were letting customers back in. We asked about the laundry we dropped off that morning at 7am and none of the staff members could give us an update. One of them said it may have already been delivered to our room. When we got back to our room, our room was untouched. It was now after 4pm and house keeping had not been by yet but we saw the cart on our floor. Our laundry was nowhere to be found. My SO had to stay on top of the status of the laundry throughout that afternoon, even after 7pm when it was promised to be delivered to the room. Again, this was a sign that the staff had yet to establish communication amongst each other pertaining to basic services, like laundry for their customers. House keeping finally came by after 6:30pm when I was taking a nap, so the lady was only able to clean the bathroom. Fifteen minutes later, room service came by with our laundry. Another 10 minutes later, another room service staff member knocked on our door asking if she could restock our bar for us, which we did not even have access to. It was locked and we were not given a key. So, we declined. Given the location and the hotel name, we were expecting the extra charges (valet, $12 wifi, etc). However, the most frustrating part of our stay was the lack of communication between staff members. We are willing to give them another chance and are hopeful that with time, the service and communication between staff members will improve. To recap, here are some of the pros: Great location Friendly and helpful staff (they greeted each person that walked by and offered help in any way) Beautiful and clean building/rooms Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for breakfast Robes to use during our stay (or $90 to purchase) Pet friendly - no size or breed restrictions!

Yelp
So...I think I just want to love at the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel forever! A luxurious hotel that entices & soothes all the senses! I was in heaven! First of all -EYE CANDY- everywhere you look. You are surrounded by gorgeousness! after you eyes have taken in all the You'll find yourself wanting to touch everything. From the soft velvety chair to the textured wallpaper, crisp sheets, smooth ... and At the end of the day, dim the lights (yes, all rooms - including the bathroom (!) have dimmers), and relax in the ... soaking tub with a glass of wine. Envelop your body with the...robe Added security (elevator & calling a room) Yoga, umbrelka, charging station ... they've thought of everything. Perfectly appointed. Luxe

Yelp
Edit: I gotta go 3 stars after the rest of our stay. I jinxed it rating too early I guess. This is a straight up, well earned 3 star as I normally would cut some slack during a pandemic. We called down for more towels three times over the course of 24hrs and just never got them. The second two times they apologized and made it sound like there was zero chance of any further issue. When checking in they touted a $10 credit if you forgo the standard maid service full cleaning, but just call down if you need towels. Sure, worth it for a 3 night stay for a clean party of two. Well that didn't work obviously. Both ice machines were out of service. Even if they were in service I wouldn't have gotten ice because there were no refill plastic bags to be found anywhere. Didn't bother calling down to ask for a bag for obvious reasons. This is a relatively expensive chain and you just expect better than this, especially compared to other Kimpton properties. The following are only negatives for certain people, but will definitely be positives for younger crews and others. This is a popular spot and a happening area, but that benefit might be wasted on, or annoy some people. Heavy weed smell on our floor creeping into our room at times. Lots of door slamming from all over our floor at all times of night and we were not next to a stairwell. Loud weekends... even on the 12th floor we were hearing crowds yelling and bass bumping, fireworks from the baseball game. Tips: there is a little market just a couple blocks down that sells craft beer, desserts, and other fun stuff. Good place for a quick drink or to load up your mini fridge. There is a hidden alleyway even closer, right next to the hotel that is hard to notice until the weekend but it has some good fun. Side note: one bar is a NY Islanders hotspot for any fans looking for an away spot to feel at home.

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful and secure. However, I was highly disappointed in the restaurant , Angeline's and the parking. Was told we could park in their lot right next to valet. It would be $5 per hour or $30 for the entire day. Now if we moved the car, it would start over. We arrived around 4:30 PM on 9/30, walked to the concert and walked back. The next morning we left before 10 AM, so realistically we were not there 24 hours, but we were charged $89.85 to park. Even if it was counted two days, it would only have been $60. It was a nice walk to Bank of America.

James R.

Yelp
I had a very good experience with this hotel. Most important to me is that bringing my small dog was a seamless experience and Kimpton's do not "fee" you for pets. The front desk staff and bell people were very cheery and accommodating. I had a nice room on a high floor and it was clean and met my my pet's high standards. If you need to in the downtown area this hotel is very walkable. This was a hotel I would return to while visiting Charlotte

Yelp
Amazing location wonderful comfortable rooms. So nice view the rooftop bar amazing view! Nice pretty but the bartender was a mess service and inappropriate behavior but everything is nice in this hotel

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. The rooms are wonderfully decorated. The bathroom was my favorite part, so glamorous and comfortable. Took a nice bath with great amenity toiletries. Such a treat to stay in! Beds very comfortable, towels super fluffy.
