A truly authentic experience! Finally a place that doesn't feel like it's totally Americanized just because it's in America. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and they really took their time to make sure we were enjoying our meal! The dishes were very legit and it's been a long time since I felt like I was in a restaurant that really captured the spirit of where the food is supposed to be originated from. Great all-around experience and thank you very much for a great meal!

Google
As a Korean, I am always looking for good Korean restaurants to try especially when I travel. Between two of us, we ordered dol sot bibimbop, yukgaejang, and galbi which isn’t something I normally would get. However, boy, am I grateful the lovely owner recommended it! It was one of the most delicious galbi dishes I have ever had and will absolutely write home about. The banchan was also super fresh and yummy. 10/10 would highly recommend. I look forward to visiting again next time I’m in Jacksonville. Thank you for the amazing food and friendly welcome, Ms. Kim!

I recently dined at Kim’s BBQ in Jacksonville, FL, and it was an absolute delight! The food is nothing short of excellent, with every dish bursting with authentic Korean flavors. The banchan was a standout—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced, offering a fantastic variety that elevated the entire meal. The staff truly made the experience special; they were friendly, prompt, and incredibly personable, ensuring we felt welcomed and well-cared for from start to finish. Kim’s BBQ is a must-visit gem for anyone craving top-notch Korean cuisine in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Google
Kim BBQ is an absolute gem! We had the tteokbokki, marinated spicy pork, and kimchi fried rice, and everything tasted so wonderful and comforting. The flavors were rich and homely. The marinated spicy pork was perfectly seasoned, the tteokbokki had just the right amount of spice and chewiness, and the kimchi fried rice was packed with flavor. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone craving authentic and delicious Korean food! Will be coming back for more!

Google
I have to say this is the most authentic Korean food I’ve had in Jacksonville—just like what I’ve tasted in Korea! As an Asian, I pay a lot of attention to the freshness of ingredients, and you can truly taste how fresh everything is here. I love Mama Kim’s personality, and we’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
Kim's Korean BBQ offers some very delicious food, with a couple of highlights and minor quirks that make it stand out. We ordered the squid stir fry and pork ribs, and the flavors were great, but there were some differences in the dishes. Squid stir fry: This dish was incredible--definitely the best in Jacksonville. The squid was tender and perfectly cooked, not chewy at all. The stir fry had an amazing balance of spices, and there were no fillers like rice cakes or too many vegetables drowning out the squid's flavor. The dish was packed with flavor, and each bite was a combination of savory, spicy, and a slight sweetness that complemented the seafood perfectly. It was the standout dish of the meal and one I'll definitely be coming back for. Pork ribs: While the ribs were tender, they were too sweet for my liking, and the flavor felt a bit one-dimensional. The sauce was heavy on the sweetness, which made the ribs feel a little cloying after a while. They could benefit from a bit more balance with some acidity or spice. In terms of portions, Kim's Korean BBQ is generous. The rice comes in a half bowl, so you'll need to order more if you're craving extra, and the Bonchon (fried chicken) is only available with a full meal or as an additional charge, which is something to keep in mind. The prices are on the pricier side, especially when compared to other Korean places in town, but the taste and authenticity make it worth it. The owners are Korean and will speak to you in Korean if you're comfortable with the language. The staffing was a little overwhelmed, as the lady owner seemed to be doing most of the work, and at one point, you could hear her directing her husband at the register to assist with various tasks. This led to a bit of a longer wait for the food, but it was understandable given that they were a bit understaffed. One thing I really appreciated was the cleanliness of the place. Kim's is one of the cleaner Korean restaurants in the area, which is always a plus. Despite the staffing hiccups and the slightly sweet pork ribs, the overall experience was great. I'll definitely be coming back for that squid stir fry and to try more of their authentic dishes!

Yelp
Mrs Kim is a hoot! She is friendly, inviting and very interesting to talk to. Her husband is friendly and welcoming as well. The yakimandeu appetizer is delicious. I had my favorite, Dol Sot Bibimbop, it was piping hot and the bibimbop sauce was spot on. Spouse got the pork bulgogi, he said it was delicious. There were so many banchans and all were fresh and delicious. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in Jacksonville. The restaurant is clean and spacious, the tables are not too close so one doesn't feel crowded. We had so much fun talking to Mrs Kim that I forgot to take a photo of our entrees.

Yelp
Visited here for dinner on a Saturday. Ordered the Spicy squid with veggies and it was made very well. Not too chewy, with perfect about of Korean spice. The spicy pork ribs were a bit too sweet for me but the meat was very tender and came off the bone very easily. They provided a various amount of banchan (side dishes) and provided us with more kimchi when requested. Decent service but they seemed a little short staffed. The restaurant is fairly large and can accommodate a lot of people. I would come again to try other dishes! Good quality food here.

Yelp
This was our first visit and we had a great time. The staff was delightful and pleasant and helpful I can't say that I'm an expert but I do know I'll go back and try more things. 10/10

Yelp
This was my first time at Kim's Korean BBQ. My husband chose it as his birthday dinner spot so we called in to make sure they didn't require any reservations (they did not require it). We were seated quickly but service was a bit chaotic. It appeared that only 2 people were working on a Friday so things were delayed a bit. Appetizers and drinks were put in first but then we got our banchan before we even ordered our entrees. Owner took notice finally and asked if we ordered entrees, we said no and finally got to put our order in. Entrees came out hot and very tasty so the food made up for the wait. However, prices felt steep for the size of the entree. The owners are nice and funny. Mama Kim let us store and serve our own birthday cake, no extra cost which was very nice of her. The restaurant is clean and feels authentic. They play Korean music and it looks like they do karaoke some nights so seems like a cool place!

Yelp
the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Highly recommend we had a big group and everyone loved it..

Yelp
Kim's Korean is exceptional! We've been coming here for years and the food and service are always impeccable and consistent. Our go-to is the pork bulgogi and if this is your thing you must come here and try it. Owners are so hospitable and make the experience even more special. The BEST Korean in Jax!

Yelp
Prices on the menu are subject to change and they don't mention it. Lettuce was $2.99 on the menu and they charged $3.99. They said they would take one of our rice orders off of the bill to balance it which is okay, but they after they charged our card we discovered that they did not do so. They also claim to accept Mastercard but they do not. I wouldn't recommend this place solely because of the bait and switch practices. Also when we mentioned that the price was different the server rudely said "really?" As if it wasn't a big deal. She originally did not want to honor the menu price, and ultimately never did. Not good business practice!

Yelp
We have tried several Korean spots in Jacksonville area, and hands down, the food was absolutely the best overall at Kim's. All the banchan (side dishes) were fresh and delicious, not to mention the clean presentation. We ordered yukgaejang, dol sot bibimbop, and per the owner's recommendation, galbi. All 3 dishes were above and beyond bursting with flavor. The meat quality is the best we've had at a Korean restaurant melting in our mouths. The owner was friendly like family with a great sense of humor and made us laugh throughout our dining experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Kim's!

Yelp
I went with three other ladies from work, for dinner. None of us were familiar with the menu and our waitress was super helpful. We all got different things, and we're delighted with every dish.

Yelp
Went here Sunday for lunch with my friends. It is located in San Jose with the shopping center and they are at the end of it. Plenty of space for parking. Food was good but not great, I have been to many Korean bbq place and what they offer was just not what I was expecting. I got the bulgogi and for me it was a little disappointing especially with the price of it of $24.99, the bulgogi came with the steamed rice and that was about it, for me it just wasn't as bbq'd as I was hoping for , so with that price for lunch it was a bit overpriced for me especially for the lunch menu. I also ordered the japchae which was really good! to be honest I will be happy if I just ordered the japchae. Also when you order it comes with the Korean food sides which was pretty cool! I enjoyed trying different sides. Customer service was good! there 's 2 Korean ladies working and they are both very friendly.

Yelp
This was my first time at Kim's Korean BBQ and it was so Korean deliciousness! There were 24 of us who got together before our final Korean class and Kim's was the recommendation of our teacher. Our order was placed and came out quickly, it started with appetizers, banchan(several Korean veggies),the kimchi cucumber was the bomb! As an appetizer we tried the Mandu (Korean style beef & veggie dumplings) and Kimchi Jeon (kimchi pancake w/kimchi, onions and green onions)...talk about flavor! The kimchi Jeon was popping with flavor and could've been our meal but it was shared among everyone; you definitely need to try it when you go! For our meal, my mom and I, we ordered the bulgogi deobbap (marinated grilled beef) and ojingeo bokkeum (spicy stir fried squid). We both loved our entrees and definitely needed a to go box. Those in our party said their meal was flavorful and those who had the spicy dishes said it wasn't that spicy, it just enhances the flavor. If you're looking for original Korean flavor Kim's needs to be added to your list. It also has the Korean BBQ style where you can cook at your table.

Yelp
When we came in we were seated quickly and we were able to place our order fast as well. I got the marinated pork ribs which had a nice flavor and was a good portion size. The sauce was really good but the meat was a little overcooked. The pork belly was also overcooked and lacking flavor. Our servers were really nice though and I'd definitely comeback just for the ribs.

Yelp
This place has the best fried tofu on earth! If someone says they don't like tofu, make them try this stuff, it will change their minds!

Yelp
Like many of you, I'm sure, I've gone down the Instagram rabbit hole many times watching various and odd video clips. But it's not just cats crashing Christmas trees and guys burping and hitting their heads in garage doors. Not too long ago I started watching videos of people eating various wonderful looking foods in Korea. And I wanted to try that food! To sate my Korean food craving, my wife, her dad and I ventured over to Kim's Korean BBQ restaurant in Mandarin. Although a bit of a hike from the beach, it was well worth it and I would highly recommend this restaurant! The restaurant itself is pretty big and very clean! Posters adorn the walls and what looked like K-pop was playing on the tv. Everyone was super friendly and Kim (well I assume it was Kim) told funny stories to the entire room of diners! We ordered a lot, but everything looked so good and I wanted to try it all!! For appetizers we got a small order of Japchae - small glass noodles with beef and vegetables, and Haemool Pa Jeon - a pancake filled with seafood and green onions. Both were awesome. The Japchae noodles were sweet and the meat was very tender. The seafood pancake was fluffy and the various seafood, including squid, added a nice texture. In addition all tables get some banchan - little bowls of pickled vegetables, kimchi, green bean, broccoli and lots of other dishes. All were excellent and included a variety of flavors like sweet, vinegar and sour. For main courses we ordered the Dol Sot Bibimbap - rice with meat, vegetables and an egg served in a super hot pot, Galbisal - marinated short rib beef with onions, and Dak Gangjeong - basically a mild Korean fried chicken with onions and peppers. All were excellent. I think we enjoyed the Korean fried chicken the most. Super crunchy with a great sauce that worked well with the breading on the chicken. My wife loves bibimbap, especially when the rice gets really crunchy on the bottom. The surprise was the Galbisal. The meat was super tender and I thought the marinade on it was excellent. We took a lot home, but felt that our dishes gave us a great variety of different Korean food to try. Of course they have a selection of soups and stews that also look awesome that I will definitely need to come back and try. But first, while I still digest from my great meal at Kim's, I'm gonna watch a few hours of mindless videos!

Yelp
We haven't had Korean BBQ since we moved here and we have found a gem. The food was delicious. Easily one of my all time favorites since moving here. I had the Bulgogi and my wife and daughter shared the Kalbi. Both were absolutely amazing, full of flavor, and the icing on the cake was the Kalbi was boneless. The service was efficient and hospitable. If you have kids, and they like to color, they will LOVE this place. They have a whole cabinet full of popular characters to choose from. They also had a wall of fame for their aspirating artists. Looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Recently visited while on a business trip. I ordered one of the rice bowl dishes and it was delicious. My buddy ordered the fish which he said he almost ate the bone too because it was so good. Because of this place, I will definitely add Korean food to my list of must go restaurants. This place was very clean and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend you visit here

Yelp
Had a horrible experience today with my twins and then when I called back to tell them about it the guy actually laughed at me I will never be going back and it was my favorite spot to go to. There is not one car in the parking lot when I pulled up except for theirs do you think that they would take care of their regulars but they didn't

Mlee E.

Yelp
The food was good but the portions were small for the price. The bonchons were also very small portions and everything seems to be ala carte. I wish they offered combo dinner where you can have Sundubu jigae and a main dish. I was surprised they didn't offer it here. Very pricey for the portion . For 2 people no drinks and just two galbiI steak and one order soup $100 not including tip! The service was good and the owners are nice but unfortunately not worth the price.

Yelp
I spent 3 years in South Korea while stationed there and Kim's Korean food takes me back there. It is authentic and amazingly delicious. Mrs Kim and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend if you want authentic Korean Food (and they have the best Kimchi)

Yelp
Tastes like back in Houston. Loved the owner too. Next time we want the spice level up. Jax folks must not be good with spice. Surprised we knew all the food and surprised I wanted soju! Of course I do I bring a designated driver. She seemed surprised how Korean we wanted to eat. We don't cook on the table but next time.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Kim's BBQ is my favorite Korean restaurant in Jacksonville. We always enjoy having a variety of appetizers and banchan.

Yelp
Good food, great service - let Mama Kim take care of you! The store owner goes out of her way to get to know regulars, and make you feel welcome.

Yelp
I'm so full I can't even write an extensive review! Food is always great and filling, love the staff. I have to take a nap now! On the table: Haemool Pa Jeon (seafood pancake), Bulgogi (marinated grilled shredded beef and onions), Go deungeo gui (grilled mackerel), assortment of Banchan, Sapporo Beer. Ordered Ojingeo Dol Sot Bibimbap (spicy squid/veggies with rice in a hot stone pot) to go for my daughter.

Yelp
Annyeonghaseyo! () Hello in Korean Gotta know how to say the most known greeting at least after watching a variety of K-Drama, K-Horror and other K shows on Netflix during the Pandemic, but nope I'm good with the K-POP lol Checked in and had lunch at Kim's Korean BBQ last Saturday at 9825 San Jose Blvd. Suite #1 and there are lots of international good eats next to each other on this plaza. Choose carefully friends. We did not have to wait to be seated. The ambience looks pretty good, the staff was very welcoming and yes, there was plenty of parking. Usually I order a Hite or any Korean beer, but I was outta luck and had to settle for a Terra- an Australian Beer, which was ok as I never tried it before anyway. For the appetizer we ordered Dbeobokki ($11.99) Spicy rice cakes and boiled egg with fish cakes in a Spicy red sauce, it was very tasty and filling, the hotness level was I would say at an easy 8. Galbisal was our main entree ($30.99) Marinated BBQ beef boneless short ribs with onions and can be optionally grilled at the table. It was so delicious and we can really taste the quality meat as how it was marinated over time, although we thought that it was a little short on the serving, or maybe I was just too hungry (good thing those fish sticks were a bit heavy on the tummy) We were served Kimchi Rice Mmm..mmm plus the usual small square dishes (Banchan) of Green Bean, Dry Squid,Yellow/Red Radish, all eaten up yup, didn't skip the Brocolli. Check out the awesome stuff they have at the front too, like the Wi-Fi toothpick dispenser, as I have never seen one before and other items of interest in popular culture, Squid Game apparel and more! We will definitely be back and try other authentic Korean dishes from Kim's Korean BBQ, and Gamsa Haeyo (Thank you) - that's way easier and shorter than saying their Hello!

Yelp
This place is pretty bad, thought the reviews were decent, poor service and the food was very poorly prepared, not sure who's actually running this places
google avatar

Carlo B.

Yelp
I usually don't write bad reviews but the owner crossed the line when it comes to customer service. Let me start out by saying that eating out is not cheap and for the money we pay we should get an enjoyable eating experience. I took my family out to experience something new the owner turned it into one of the worst meals I have had. I ordered one entree and 4 appetizers for 4 people. The owner copped a serious attitude because we only ordered one entree. She immediately informed me that we would only get 6 small vegetable plates instead of the 12 they usually serve. Now mind you when I say small I mean small plates. After our food comes to the table I asked for some more Kimchee at which time our waitress (who was very nice) informed me the owner said we could not have any refills on the small vegetable plates. I got very aggravated but I kept my cool and immediately asked for the check so I can leave at which time the female owner came over and I confronted her about her attitude. She walked away without a word. The check comes and the total with tip was $100.00. 100.00 for food that was at best average....... So for the cost of a small plate of Kimchee which is nothing but cabbage she lost a customer and but gained a negative review for her attitude..........

Yelp
This Korean restaurant is very good. We had small Japchae( glass noodles to start, galbisal (tender and juicy), makes me hungry just thinking about it and bulgogi as our main dish. We enjoyed our dinner. Banchan ( side dishes were ample and Mrs. Kim, the proprietor was very attentive. If you are craving for an authentic Korean fare, this is the place. We will definitely come back!
google avatar

Sasha H.

Yelp
Very quiet restaurant, very nice setup. Ordered the pan seared dumplings for an app, they were good. For the entrees I had the bulgogi ramen... it was so good and medium spicy. Hubby had the short ribs which came with white rice. It was very flavorful. Everything was so good. Definitely going back!

Joanne B.

Yelp
Great Korean authentic food! Great service and the k-pop music is the blest! Would recommend to come often!!

Yelp
I truly wish I could give 10 stars for tonight! I don't know what was better the customer service, our waiter (I truly wish I got his name so I could give him the recognition he truly deserves) or the owner who spent time at our table with us today. I'll start with customer service since that's always the most important to me, I cannot command the staff enough for how attentive they are. Our waiter was phenomenal very kind and attentive and made some excellent recommendation! Moreover the owner came over and spent quite a bit of time with us, what a riot this woman is! Based upon my interaction with her I can tell why our waiter was so excellent because she truly cares about her team about the quality of her food and about the restaurant and more over the experience for the customer. Now let's talk about the food, where do I begin? It was fantastic! I could've gone back for more. Rich with flavor and spices but not overly hot spices. It was the kind of flavor that you really could just savor and made you want more. You got large portions a great variety and you could tell only the freshest ingredients are used! This will definitely be a top spot for me.

Jade D.

Yelp
Delicous food!!! amazing service. The woman who served us was very sweet and funny. I love Korean food and this is a great spot in Jacksonville.

Yelp
Been to this establishment multiple times. One of my favorite places to get Korean food. Have taken multiple friend group here. Food is amazing. Not sure how to say the names of the food but definitely great flavors. My recommendations are the rice cakes with the spicy sweet sauce with the friend egg, galbi and the seafood pancake... delicious.... Now the attraction/ the heart of the restaurant. "Mama Kim". She is very direct which some people can find her rude. But once you pass that she is soo much fun. Love seeing her and joking around with her. The place is clean and has a private room for bigger parties. Highly recommended this place

J G.

Yelp
Some of the best Korean food in Jax. Owner is very knowledgeable and quite funny. Banchan flavors and selection matches or beats most. Ambiance is quite casual and relaxing. Perfectly crispy rice with bibimbap in stone bowl leads as favorite, followed by bulgogi, and kimchi stew. All with that delicious banchan.

Christiana M.

Yelp
I was very impressed with this restaurant! The staff really makes you feel welcomed and the food was amazing! My family and I will definitely be coming back.

Kevin C.

Yelp
The food at Kim's barbecue was delicious and very much authentic. When ordering kimchi, you must get the fish cakes.

Yelp
I love everything there is a wide food range. The service is amazing as well. I love Miss Kim. The feeling at the restaurant is very authentic

Yelp
Amazing food. Loved everything!!! Try the sweet and sour pork number 7 The steak is cooked so perfectly.

Yelp
We recently went to Kim's Korean BBQ for a birthday dinner and it was fantastic. Unlike traditional Korean BBQ places I've been Kim's doesn't have a cook at your table option, but that's ok; the do a damn good job cooking for you. We had a pho dish and the Bibimbap which were very delicious. The service was super great! Could not have asked for any better service than what we received from our server and the manager/owner.
google avatar

Tish C.

Yelp
I believe I may have reviewed Kim's Korean BBQ before, after seeing Erica's eyes light up with delight after eating there. I went to dinner with a few friends who apparently are regulars as Mrs. Kim chatted them up for a bit. We walked in and to my whole delight, before we could enter the dining room our temperatures were taken and we were given several squirts of hand sanitizer. This is the ONLY establishment of any kind that has done that. Kim's is taking patron safety very seriously, they have partitions between each table or booth. I did all this rambling about safety, I didn't get to the food! OMG -- I forgot how much I really like Korean food. Everything was absolutely delicious. Mrs. Kim came around and checked to make sure everything was to our liking and even had a shot with us! I can see why Erica's eye glaze over every time she says she going to see Mrs. Kim. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

JiMmy P.

Yelp
Our Sunday lunch here was just A-OK. Bibimbap is my wife's favorite Korean rice dish so we share that and the Gopchang Sundubu. Not enough meat in the Bibimbap and not enough beef intestines in the Gopchang Sundubu either (lots of tofu though). We did enjoy the side dishes. **Bibimbap - warmed white rice mixed with beef & vegetables in a hot stone pot (contains eggs). **Gopchang Sundubu - spicy soft tofu soup with beef intestines & vegetables (contains eggs). Friendly service. Will try them again in the future and hopefully, I'll order something that will satisfy my hunger.

Yelp
Everything was perfect! We stopped on the way home from the vet with our beloved Lab, and worried about leaving him in the car. The fantastically sweet waitress let us put him on the side porch area, where it was safely closed in and shady. She also gave him a bone! My kimchi jigae was so good, such a welcome change from usual fare. Definitely will return.
