"This neighborhood Thai and sushi spot shines with signature rolls and a la carte nigiri options like tamago, unagi, and hamachi. It also offers free delivery." - Claudia Rosenbaum

Google
Ordered delivery via Caviar and it came quickly. Both of my sushi rolls were disgusting. The rice was mushy and smeared with fingetprints. The avocado was brown and extremely soft. The fish was warm and stringy. Two of the yellowtail roll pieces had no fish. I still tried it and ate one piece of each before giving up. It was really gross. I used to love this place. I honestly don’t know how someone would think this is acceptable food to serve someone.

Google
My new favorite sushi spot! Amazing service, wonderful food, great prices! The calamari is 🤌🏽, also very kid friendly. Five stars across the boards

Chib Ojiaku

Google
Ordered through Uber eats today and food was Horrible. This place is going downhill. Ordered from.uber and the food was dry with no flavor at all. I don't know if it was a new cook or something. But a waste of money. And I have always ordered from here

Google
Always very kind and courteous service. The fried rice, pad kee mao/ drunken noodles, and sweet potato sushi are my favorite. They have nice lunch specials til 3pm

Google
The food here is delicious. Very well made. No complaints there. But why is a third of my ka prow made up of green beans? I would pay an extra couple bucks to not have to deal with this much filler.

Served our multi-generational family of 6 delicious food at super speed on a Friday night with the most attentive & kind staff. Our party sampled the menu, having both sushi & Thai food. The vegetarian maki rolls were out of this world. The pad Thai delighted our pickiest family member. Everything was totally delicious. Highly recommend, perfect place to bring the kids & grandparents.

Wicked Sycamore

Google
One of our favorite rehearsal meals! They get to know your name if you order as often as we do 🤣 Some of our top picks: sweet potato tempura roll, yellowtail and scallion roll, seaweed salad, green curry, papaya salad, pad woon sen, and more! ❤️ Wicked Sycamore

The best! I moved away from Takoma but come here whenever I am home. The drunken noodles, Pad Thai, curries and cashew chicken are to die for.

Yelp
Local Takoma Park Spot! My favorite Thai restaurant in Takoma Park. Love the food the service the vibe of the restaurant it's quaint, but also right downtown. The servers are very friendly and can work with you if you decide you want a spice level to be something different. I'm a big fan of the Thai iced tea and recommend it. I also noticed this time around they had Thai iced coffee on the menu and I think that will be something I'll return for in near future. Drunken noodles is a classic for me and my boyfriend - we love to order it. Recommend you stop by next time you wanna shop local in the area or if your metro in and explore!

Yelp
Went for lunch on a weekday. Great portions for lunch specials. We had chicken satay, sushi and pad Thai. Look forward to returning. Service was timely, however the server did forget one my sushi orders so I had to wait once I flagged someone down. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday lunch hour.

Yelp
I ordered through Uber eats (couldn't go myself and check it out- was a workday! and was really happy with the dishes. The the Thom Kha soup (I ordered it with chicken) was delicious, though a bit pricy. I was pleased with the amount of chicken, though there were a ton of mushrooms. I really liked my pad see ew with chicken; the flavor was great and not a terrible price- and there was plenty of broccoli, in my opinion the best part of the dish! Not sure I'd Uber eats again (the prices are definitely inflated on there and rightfully so) but I'd pop by for dinner to check out the place.

Yelp
The best! I moved away from Takoma but come here whenever I am home. The drunken noodles, Pad Thai, curries and cashew chicken are to die for.

Michael N.

Yelp
The curry tasted a bit bland, tasting more coconut milk than the curry flavors. There was a lot of broccoli and other vegetables, while skimping on the meat with tiny pieces. I wouldn't order this item again unless I'm craving it out of convenience. The calamari was big and juicy. The Thai tea was decent, almost as good as Thai tea in boba shops. The fried sushi was too soft for something that should have some crisps. Eating outside made the experience nice and the worker cleaned up our table after we finished.

I Want To Be Sad D.

Yelp
Sorry. The staff was great but the food was not. Not bad just not very good or flavorful. The sushi was meh. Spices seemed off. Too bad cos it looks like a nice spot.

Nadjia C.

Yelp
I love me some Thai food! I just moved to the area and stumbled upon here after leaving the nail salon. I noticed that they had a lunch special for $9.95 which you cannot beat and I ordered chicken pad Thai with a pomegranate lemonade it was very good! I got my food very fast and it was filling and just the right amount for lunch! I cant wait to try the other selections on the menu.

Natalie M.

Yelp
I decided to try this place while in Takoma Park the other day. I ordered the cashew chicken with brown rice and sushi rolls. The fried cashew chicken was too crispy for my liking. I would have preferred the chicken to be sautéed. Otherwise, it had a good mix of sweet and tangy flavors. The menu indicated that this entree was spicy; however, I detected no spiciness. I requested additional pepper sauce to add some heat to the dish. I didn't like the sushi. Too much rice and mushy salmon for my liking! The staff were welcoming and accommodating!

James B.

Yelp
Tried Kin Da Thai and Sushi for the first time as I've driven past this place dozens of times and I'm glad I did. My wife tried the lunch special here once and said it was good. I would like to start off by saying the prices here are very reasonable and the food quality and taste reflects that. I opted for the the cashew chicken w/ a side of steamed rice and the chicken was a hit! It was nice and crispy and the sauce added a nice flavor to it. My wife got the chicken pad Thai which was flavorful as well. The crab rangoons were decent, just a little on the chewy side. The customer service here was great which added to the positive experience.

Tenise T.

Yelp
Very rude, maybe it was my natural hair Sad people in the world so I decided to leave and not let Sad miserable, and mean People cook my food because I don't want that energy in my body

Kesanee S.

Yelp
I love this place, highly recomended! The food quantity and quality are great and clean, friendly and fast serve.

Yelp
Great neighborhood sushi and Thai spot carry-out spot with lots of vegetarian options - vegetarian maki rolls and tofu and veggie Pad See Ew hit the spot! Carry-out only, no dining in! The Veggie Maki was bursting with flavor and a garden medley of veggies - avocado, inari, kanpyo, seaweed, cucumber & ohba wrapped in soy bean sheet. The Sweet Potato Tempura roll was tasty and not greasy. It was nice that the rolls weren't overloaded with rice with a higher proportion of veggies. Hubby enjoyed the handmade cone-shaped temaki Double Salmon roll. The peanut sauce was fantastic and paired really well with the sushi, def worth the $0.50 upcharge. I wish I had gotten another side of it! The spicy mayo def had a kick and a bit too much for me to handle! The tofu and veggie Pad See Ew noodles was cooked al dente and a lot less greasier than most places. There was a heap of veggies - broccoli, carrots, squash, onions, asparagus that helped to round out the dish with fried tofu. The smaller portion was nice and could easily be conquered. It was a relief not to have leftovers! Love the diverse menu and variety of dishes, will def come back when we're in the area. Worth the 1/2 hour drive from McLean!

Yelp
Old Takoma Park has shifted over the years. It is still quaint and has an old city charm. It has also caught onto charging for parking spaces that were free for decades. The restaurant has closed indoor dining due to covid. You can order from the window or online. Lunch specials are available until 3pm. There are lots of choices under $9. There are covered tables across from the restaurant. There are also benches and various chairs nearby.

Audra H.

Yelp
Kin Da never disappoints and is our fav neighborhood spot for authentic Thai food! Their pad Thai is phenomenal and the portion size is enough for leftovers the next day! I also really enjoy their sushi as well with their Fire Roll being my fav! If your in the neighborhood, check them out!!

Rick T.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant! Good food and great ambience! Clearly the best Thai restaurant that I have ever experienced.

Alicia D.

Yelp
We order takeout from Kin da when desperate but decided to dine-in with our pre-schooler because it was close and easy enough. I expected to have a superior experience eating in but was bitterly disappointed. I had drunken noodles and asked to have it extra spicy. Instead, it was extra greasy and barely spicy. My daughter's edamame was under-cooked, and the papaya salad and spring rolls were incredibly bland and underwhelming. Hopelessly mediocre on every level.

Nora M.

Yelp
I was craving bubble tea on my way home and decided to stop here, I've had the sushi once before. They are takeaway only right now but there is seating outside if you like. You order right at the door or call ahead. The lady that took my order was super nice. My whole experience was super quick. I knocked a star because she did not tell me they were out of the bubbles (the reason I came :[ )and when I received my drinks, I had to ask about the bubbles. She then told me they were out. Then she showed me on my receipt that she took a dollar off because they were out. I appreciated that but had she told me prior to placing my order, I may have gotten something else. No big deal, plus she was really nice and apologetic about it. Bubbles or not, both of my drinks were really good and it was an in and our experience just like I wanted. I didn't get any this time but I will be returning, their sushi is good too. Nice, chill neighborhood Thai spot.

Yelp
Best Thai food in town! This is coming from a Thai food connoisseur. The curries are amazing and all of their entrees are as well. 10/10.

Colleen H.

Yelp
Good Thai food is often hard to find but Kin Da does a great job! The sushi tastes amazing-especially when paired with their spicy mayo. I've had some trouble trying to find the rest heat level with the chicken pad Thai. The regular seems to be not spicy enough and the less spicy (the next level up) seems to be too spicy for my palate. You must try the spring rolls if you go! The crab Rangoon definitely taste more like fresh crab than most others in the dc area.

Gregory R.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here with some friends. Lots of choices on the menu. We had Thai food, three appetizers and three main dishes. The duck roll appetizer was my favorite. The special was "three sauce", we had it with shrimp and it was outstanding. Will definitely go back, I need to try their sushi and sashimi!!!

Krishna P.

Yelp
Had Duck Roll and Crab Fried Rice. No complains. Though Uber Eats.

Michael B.

Yelp
Excellent Asian Fusion restaurant, closes early though. Service is very good. Plenty available parking.

Eric V.

Yelp
Very unimpressed with the pre cut, dry fish and stale rice - this place used to be okay - lunch sucked today. Really bad.

Nicole S.

Yelp
I will always be a fan of Kin Da. Their sushi is solid and the cashew chicken is a fave. All the curry and noodle dishes are also fab. I know it's a small thing, but it's my thing: the veggies are always crunchy! I've only ordered take-out so I can't comment on the atmosphere inside, or if they even offer dine-in post covid.

Jeanne H.

Yelp
Flavorful dishes from yummy rolls, sushi, to all spicy sir fried dishes! Best place for quick lunch date or family dinner.

Matthew H.

Yelp
First let me say that it's time for them to get rid of the goofy and kind of rude telephone greeting when you call that sounds like a grumpy adolescent recorded it. Also a lot of people hate using an app to order FYI, and you have to create a whole login to use it. No thanks. Pretty good Thai food. Generally nice service. They do a great job considering all of the entitled, self important, and socially awkward people in Takoma Park. The pad thai is very consistent. Drunken noodles not bad either. Very good portions for takeout. Pricing is pretty good all things considered. I'd like to see better hours. They close super early, so on a takeout night sadly I sometimes have to take my business elsewhere.

Sarah B.

Yelp
The food was really delicious and affordable! It tasted fresh and authentic. I think every dish I had was packed with flavor.

Samantha G.

Yelp
I liked this place a lot. The service was great and the food was amazing! Food: The medium spice for the drunken noodles is perfect and it is a huge portion. If you want it to be extra spicy, you can ask for their little spice jars and it will give you a good kick. The mango sticky rice was comparable to most but it still was yummy. If you're in the area, you should go!

Howard M.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Maryland. I ate here four times in the two months that I was visiting the state. The neighborhood is really fun and the restaurant is comfortable. The cashew chicken is exceptionally good.

Desiree D.

Yelp
Kim Da is good. This is mostly the case with mixed or fusion restaurants. They tend to loose what makes the original cuisine great. I also find it to be Americanized in it's pallet. That being said - it is still tasty and a solid option for good Asian inspired food.

Pg E.

Yelp
Sushi isn't great unfortunately but I loved their thai fried rice, despite how small of a portion it is for pick up. The spice levels are legit and the flavor is on point. My friend loved his fried rice but wanted more chicken. I on the other hand had plenty but wasn't a fan ( give him mine and he complained about how spicy it was lol) I order the Shrimp Tempura roll and it tasted and looked more like a tempura roll with a little bit of shrimp, I'm just not a fan of thick tempura with my rolls. Service was great, a little slow but I didn't mind, it was one of those pleasant days we don't see in Maryland too often. Would go again to try different dishes

Deva C.

Yelp
Kin Da is no longer our favorite Thai restaurant in the DMV. Our carry out order was a bit disappointing after a much anticipated reunion, pandemic style, at home, celebratory dinner. Our cashew chicken was rock hard, and almost inedible. Green curry was ok, but different than advertised on the menu due to the non traditional, surprise veggie medley. To top it all off, the restaurant was "all out" of their spice tray condiments, very disappointing. Maybe our experience would have been better if we were dinning in. Three stars for this once go-to Thai spot.

Linda V.

Yelp
Ordered the spicy salmon roll and shrimp tempura roll with two puff pastries. The spicy salmon roll was actually very flavorful to me was much preferred over the shrimp tempura for me but only cause I craved raw sushi for awhile. The shrimp tempura was good to no issues there as for the puff pastries they were very small compared to the pictures I've seen posted but then again the pictures for the puff pastries where from 4 years ago so I'm guessing they downsized. The puff pastry also called for chicken but there was none in it although I'm not complaining cause I'm starting back on eating chicken again after being pescatarian for 3 years it didn't bother me but it called for chicken and had only potato in it. All in all it was ok for something quick and not to bad would recommend.

Liza L.

Yelp
Why 1 Star? Poor service. What's the category of poor service? 1) When dining guest are being rushed when there's still food on the table and still waiting for the dessert to be served. 2) when the server is rushing to take the order. 3) when you receive a wrong order because you were rushed during the order process. 4) when your dessert were served and you asked for silverwares. 5) when it's not busy and the To go box where handed to you because dirty dishes are still on the table. 6) when you asked for extra napkins to wipe the dirty table prior to dessert service and the reaction on the server face is "that's an extra cost"! Larb Gai 4 stars Tofu 4 stars but the peanut sauce isn't great and dry so we asked sweet and sour sauce (that's fine to be charged by .25 cents) Fried Fish 5 stars (wrong sauce because we were rushed) when we asked for the sauce the other server said sorry we will not charge you for the sauce, and our own server said let me get that wrong sauce then oh no you may have it will get the correct Panang sauce. Will I go back? NO!

Kevin S.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in myself for not finding this restaurant sooner. It is in Takoma Park (Maryland Side), and the food and service were excellent. We had different varieties of sushi, edamame, and beer. With the help of our waitress, she was kind enough to provide us with some grrat beer suggestions. I would come here again since it is closer and parking is better in this area. We also had the Ginger Beef as part of the meal, and it was fragrant of ginger, and it was great.

George D.

Yelp
Its amazing the places you find while just taking a stroll through a community main street. Next to one of my favorite coffee shops also happens to be one of my favorite "typical", I'll say, Thai food eateries. All the dishes you expect to see are here and they do not disappoint. What affirms Kin Da further for me is they hold no punches with the spice levels. Thai hot is truly hot. Not for the faint of heart. Bring it on! They have good lunch specials too. Not the best Thai ever, but certainly very good.

Tiahna P.

Yelp
This place was yummy. NOTE: I visited mid-July COVID time. They did a fantastic job working with the situation. They told us how we could go about sitting at the table outside but still ordering "take-out." This was done to protect the waitresses. Awesome. The food was tasty and came out quickly. The neighborhood is very quaint and cute. Good experience, I recommend.

Brittany L.

Yelp
I only ordered take-out, but the food was great. The red Thai curry tasted fresh. Another instant proof of a great restaurant is when they can take an item out of a curry dish. The red curry has chunks of tomato. I requested the dish without it and the waitress gladly said that they could make it without the ingredient. I also ordered the Thai Iced Tea. Perfect for a hot summer day. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. I can't wait to try this spot for their sushi. The building is located in Takoma Park area, so be prepared to find parking. There's a parking lot that charges after first hour adjacent to the building the restaurant is in. Pretty accessible. Fun place and I'd see this being a cute date spot.

DC N.

Yelp
I really try to like this place since I live nearby. The restaurant is cute, but the service is rushed and clearly the volume of customers is the priority. The food is just meh. Get the delivery - not worth a restaurant visit.

Matt S.

Yelp
This is a review of the drunken noodles with chicken, and the curry puffs. I ordered delivery over Uber eats, and it came very quickly. No problems there. The problems occurred when I started actually eating the meal. First of all, the drunken noodle really didn't taste like drunken noodle. Drunken noodle is supposed to be characterized by an overwhelming basil feeling; this had very little of that. Also, the sauce was way too sweet! Drunken noodle should not be sweet. What's more, I ordered it extra spicy, and it was fairly mild. Finally, there were very few noodles. It seems like half the dish was vegetables. Really crappy noodle to vegetable ratio. Not at all worth the price. To go along with my meal, I ordered the curry puffs. This was like five or six dollars. I just expected that there would be four curry puffs in there. There were two. And they weren't even very good. They were too potato-heavy, and they were dry, and they didn't have a lot of curry flavor. In conclusion: I judge a Thai place based on the quality of its drunken noodle. I will never order from here again.

Natasha K.

Yelp
Really consistently good carry out! Fresh and flavorful, a new favorite spot of ours.

Blake M.

Yelp
High quality Thai and sushi at a pretty solid price. Everything I've tried has been great. Get your normal favorite and it'll probably stack up. Also love how quick they are even during peak hours!

Eric R.

Yelp
When they are open, food is pretty good. Don't see crab fried rice on the menu was one of my favorites.

Vicky M.

Yelp
Love the fried rice options and the spicy eggplant. My family can't get enough of the cashew chicken. We've eaten here at least twice a month for years.

Anna S.

Yelp
since my previous review, i've patronized kin da about 10 times, all during covid, so all were take-out orders, with the most recent being this week. the sushi continues be fresh and nicely presented. rolls are full and well-rolled. all special requests have been dealt with correctly: no utensils; side of sushi rice instead of steamed; separate sushi from cooked items; covid pick up was easy, especially if you use the website for ordering; turn around time very good. their pad thai is very good; i prefer with shrimp but have also had with tofu. panang curry is also very good -- thinner and less meaty than most americans would want, so order extra meat if that's your preference. and if you like spicy, generally they hold back so order spicier. tom yum soup (usually with chicken) is slurpable. broccoli with ginger is ok. general take-out ordering tip: don't order anything fried -- it never holds up well; so i won't review any of those items until we next dine in.

Hector P.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place. Very quaint, very cozy, and relaxing. It's in Takoma Park which is a unique little town of its owns. The feel of Takoma Park is a homey one. Kin da Thai makes no exception of that. From the decor and the atmosphere to the service they provide, is all around homey. I came in on my own and was immediately seated. What made me come was simply passing by and seeing someone's pad Thai plate. I love pad Thai but have been disappointed so much that i stick to my regular spots. I ordered the chicken kapow and a ton yum soup. Everything was delicious! The kapow was Spicy but nothing I couldn't handle. Great portions for the price and for the lunch special. All together I spent about $14 and probably some of the best spent $14

Tina K.

Yelp
I have been here several times, mostly because some of my friends really like this place. Honestly, I would recommend Ruan Thai or Nava Thai over this place. I find Kin Da's Pad Thai to lack flavor with over cooked noodles. I have had their Drunken noodles twice- it's simply not as good as other Drunken Noodle dishes I have had elsewhere. Had their green curry as well, from what I can remember it was decent, but not exceptional. You'll see this place is often packed, so they must be doing something right. Perhaps I simply need to order other menu items. Maybe I won't give-up on Kin Da just yet.

Karina E.

Yelp
I went here with a friend a couple of weeks ago on a weekday evening. The service was subpar but the sushi and dumplings were both fresh and tasty. I would give it another try if I were in the mood for sushi again.

Nancy Z.

Yelp
Best Thai food in Dc!! The best drunken noodles and curry dishes! They always accommodate if you don't like something in your dish they'll sub it for whatever you like! Yummy!! I'll be back!

Zoë M.

Yelp
Love the Cashew Chicken! There are defiantly good parts of Kin Da. If you should order the cashew chicken, friend rice, or pad Thai. I also like the drunken noodles. However, I'm not so keen on the sushi. The waiters/waitresses were nice and service was quick. This place is my go-to Thai restaurant. -zoe
