Google
first the location as others have mentioned. My GPS stopped me at a turn that was gated which was wrong, have to go down one more turn. Kindi Thai is located inside Frontier Kitchen, which is in the building behind the one that says Marble Systems that you will see from the street. Pretty cool to have several food places at one location, would like to check out the others some day as well. You ring a door bell for the restaurant you want and they will come to the door to take your order. I got the fried chicken and it was delicious! it was to go so the first thing was the aroma. It smelled so good on the drive home I couldn't wait to eat it. Chicken was nice and crispy. Rice was flavorful but wasn't too different from regular white rice in my opinion. Bowl is bigger than it looks in pictures. The sauce it comes with is key, it's delicious!

Google
If you love a simple Hainanese chicken rice with a warm bowl of soup do try this place ! We got 2 combos the combo A with poached chicken and fried chicken with rice & combo C which was grilled chicken and fried chicken with rice and a big bowl of chicken clear soup , both were good but I enjoyed the combo C better . They serve it with 2 sauces both delicious, if you like extra spicy then surely ask for chilli oil 🔥 its spicyy be careful! Overall a great experience the food ambiance !

Recently discovered this Thai place and I am in love. I tried their kindi combo and sriracha wings both were amazing. The poached Chicken and fried chicken with ginger garlic sauce and sweet chili makes the whole dish so yum. Thai iced tea was good tea. Overall a decent place, worth it.

Google
They only serve Khao Man Gai as the main course, and it's amazing. Not many Thai places will service this dish due to the level of effort, but this place does it right. Get the signature if you want traditional (poached chicken), Fried KMG for something new (fried chicken), or the Kindi Combo for both.

Delicious! Located inside of Umai ramen and rice bowl. Fresh ingredients, nice portion size and great flavors. I ordered combo B (poached and grilled), soup and pork buns. I loved the soup, and it's only $2.50! The pork buns were great and the combo bowl was delicious, I tried both sauces and can't decide which one I liked more, both tasty. the restaurant itself (Umai) is cute, too. It's small, but I like the vibe. Both restaurants have great food.

I had the Signature Khao Man Gai and Thai Tea— wow! The rice and chicken with the sauce had so much flavor! Garlicky, gingery goodness.10/10 recommend Kindi Thai Chicken Rice! My mom said the sauce is so good that she wants to eat it on everything!

Imagine walking through the streets of Southeast Asia lined with food stalls, echoes of locals chatting, and surrounded with intoxicating aromas. Some of those aromas would likely come from a humble plate of chicken rice (commonly known as Hainanese Chicken Rice) with accents of ginger, chilis, and other fragrant herbs. If you've ever been to Singapore or Malaysia, you likely know exactly what I'm talking about. A dish that was, at one point, not available anywhere in the Greater DC area has finally made it's way here. Kindi is run by an extremely passionate and friendly duo, Nelly and Jacky, and brought the Thai version of chicken rice "Khao Man Gai" to Chantilly, VA. My family lineage can be traced by to the Hainan province so I couldn't be more excited. I had the opportunity to try the Kindi Combo, Crispy Chicken Wontons, and Sriracha Wings. The Kindi Combo combines their two chicken preparations into a heavenly bowl of their signature Khao Man Gai (poached chicken) and the fried marinated chicken served atop simmered rice with Thai herbs garnished with fresh cucumber and cilantro. Drizzled with the homemade ginger and garlic sauce, it was nostalgic and comforting thoroughly enjoying every single bite. The wontons were a bit light on the chicken filling, but addictively crispy. The wings were flavor bombs with tasty heat. Overall, the food is one of a kind. They might specialize in chicken rice, but definitely don't sleep on the other delectable offerings. So take a culinary trip to Southeast Asia with one of the most beloved street foods. You won't regret it. It's a truly authentic experience... one that I intend on visiting over and over again.

Google
If you haven’t tried this place, you are missing out. Authentic taste of Thai style. Chicken rice and the soup is a BOMB!!! Chilli sauce is slightly different from the ones you find in Malaysia or Singapore. Thai people have this menu for breakfast or lunch. Good for morning meal. Easy, quick and it is real Thai street food. Best Khao Man Gai in DMV. Highly Recommended!!

Yelp
Tried out their Spicy Basil Pop recently, I must say that definitely slaps! Hits perfect spot! It was perfectly cooked to crisp, Spicy, and so flavorful! Totally loved it. Def visiting again to try out other items from their menu! Highly recommended!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Spicy Basil Pop bowl! I personally thought it was better than KMG chicken. I also like the price point for the fried, light, wontons and it's very sharable for your family/friends. I ordered delivery via Doordash. It was easy to add things to the cart and check out. There is a time given for delivery and it was delivered in the estimated time. Kindi Thai has very attractive packaging with everything in one bowl ready to go ontop of your rice. The rice had nice aromas and the I really enjoyed the sauces that they pack with the bowls. The bowls were also good next day in the microwave.

Yelp
As a lover of khao mun gai, I was extremely excited when Kindi Thai Chicken rice conveniently moved their kitchen to Umai. I ordered the Signature for my first time here. I thoroughly enjoyed both sauces, the broths, and the rice. Eating here is definitely much easier than making my own Hainanese Chicken rice. While delicious, the one thing I wish was that the chicken was a little less dry and a little more tender. I know the chicken is typically boiled, but I feel like it was either overcooked or just sliced wrong because the chicken itself was ok. Overall, I do look forward to ordering the different dishes and twists on khao mun gai again, but I hope the chicken itself is cooked a little better next time.

Yelp
My favorite comfort food boil chicken and ginger infused rice Very cute and comfortable inside and great customer service

Alexander K.

Yelp
This it's a takeout only restaurant hosted in a ghost kitchen as said many times before in the previous reviews. We ordered the Thai tea lemonade, the traditional khao man gai, and the fried khao man gai. The khao man gai had a wonderful taste and texture, a taste very reminiscent of Thailand as my fiance had stated. I actually preferred the fried version over the traditional version. The order was very promptly handed to us with no delay or hesitation, so that was greatly appreciated as opposed to their shared kitchen partner Rice Culture. However, I will dock a point due to the value proposition (as each khao man gai is quite expensive for what it is, chicken and rice) and that the drink was primarily ice.

Marc J.

Yelp
It's perfect...that's all. That's the post. It is soooo good. Simple, delicious and comforting.

Judy N.

Yelp
Awesome Hainanese Chicken & Rice! Their signature Khao Man Gai was my favorite with the flavorful and perfect rice with moist chicken. You can't go wrong with half white and half dark meat. The KMG was also good. The chicken was fried lightly. The crispy chicken wontons were surprisingly good. I am unsure what they used for the wonton skins but they were fried so lightly, I could inhale 5 of them and not feel regret. It's not like the wontons from the carry out where 2 is the most I can eat since they are heavy and greasy. The fried dough was too note worthy for me. The dough was more dense. I did enjoy the sweetened condensed milk combination.

Yelp
KHAO MAN GAI SO GOOD OMYGODDDD I was craving a good chicken rice for so long and finally found this spot. For khao man gai, we know the drill: sauce is most important, then rice, then chicken. And Kindi Thai made all 3 so excellently. I got the poached which comes with the ginger sauce that we all know and love, while the Fried KMG comes with the thai chili sauce. I wish they both came with the ginger sauce tho bc it is just that good. The place itself is not easy to find. They are one of the restaurants/food pick-up spots in this Frontier Kitchen place, way in the corner of the parking lot and no big sign for the place. Thank goodness I found it, truly truly such a wonderful experience and I will definitely visit often.

Casey Lyn B.

Yelp
I really wish the best for their business because their Signature Khao Man Gai is pretty good! Boyfriend got the fried chicken and Thai Tea, pretty good! Thai tea was not too sweet and can still taste the Thai tea. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I had a difficulty finding this place, it is basically located at the back, beside a automobile shop.

Emily L.

Yelp
It's good! It's what you'd expect for a Thai version of Hainanese chicken. Poached chicken is better than fried- fried is a little saltier and not what I was expecting. The breading isn't crisp. The garlic sauce is good but very salty. I would use sparingly and not pour it over as shown in photos. Rice is also good, definitely cooked in chicken broth. My favorite was the chicken wontons. It's a tiny dime-sized piece of chicken deep fried in a wonton wrapper- it's basically deep fried wonton-wrapper-chips. And just like chips, they're very addictive. I also got soup, which is basically chicken broth. It's very pho-like. You can smell and taste the anise. I will be back! The restaurant is part of a suite and it's not very well lit. It might be hard to find at night.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out a few months ago. Luckily for Yelp, I was able to find out about this restaurant. There is no way someone would accidentally stumble upon it because it is hidden inside an industrial area with a few other small restaurants. We ordered three different dishes. I believe one was braised, one was grilled, and one was fried. All the dishes dishes were delicious and the meat was tender. I think they cook the chicken over the rice, so the juices drip into the rice and the rice becomes even more flavorful. It isn't just plain white rice. Although the chicken is moist and flavorful, what makes this place delicious are the sauces. The sauces provided are very aromatic and authentic tasting. I am not Thai, but these flavors really taste authentic. The food was delicious! I wish it was a bit cheaper, but I am happy to support a local small business. Especially if the food tastes this good!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing place! I will probably go back to this place because it is close to my house! At first glance, the portions may look small HOWEVER it took me 2 days to finish it. I ordered the Kindi Combo which came with the fried and poached chicken with the rice. I wanted to try a bit of both to see which one I preferred, and I definitely liked the poached chicken more. My boyfriend ordered the Fried Kmg and he actually liked the fried chicken more!!! Overall, the chicken was really flavorful and moist. I love how that there was so much rice!!! The rice here is incredibly flavorful and I could honestly eat it alone without any meat and sauce. We also shared the sriracha chicken wings, and it was a nice taste of spicy and sweet. Will mostly come back and will definitely try the thai tea next time. I love the simplicity of the menu and dishes.

Yelp
I have been following this place on instagram for awhile now and have sent a couple DMs about how excited I was to try it. I placed the order online for me and my two brothers along with thai ice teas. The team was super COVID friendly with good packaging and quick pick up. They followed up and made sure I received my order as well. The chicken was delicious. I got the original and the grilled chicken. They both were amazing and surprisingly the rice was bomb too with garlic flavoring and something hit differently. I wish I could swim in the sauce that the chicken came with. I would definitely come back again. My brothers loved it too! Also, I finished the Thai iced tea before I got home to start taking pictures and eating!!

Yelp
Finding Kindi is a bit of a challenge. I was afraid my GPS had led me astray, but thanks to Dakota's picture of the front I was able to locate it. Kindi is carry-out only (at least at this location right now) and there's a little bell outside to ring so that someone can come take your order. I wanted to love this place because the lady who took my order was so sweet! However, the food fell a little flat. I ordered the poached chicken and rice and the chicken was deliciously moist, but basic. It reminded me of a rotisserie chicken, but juicer. I did not prefer the poached chicken skin so I discarded that before digging in. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. It's lightly flavored and serves as a great base for the dish. The cucumbers add a nice crunch and the cilantro added a fresh element to the dish. The real star of the meal are the sauces (ginger garlic and sweet chili). I requested both and I have to say my favorite was the sweet chili. Honestly it pulled the entire dish together. If I had one recommendation I would drizzle the sauce on top so there's some in every bite. It really rounds the entire dish out and makes it one cohesive meal. Without the sauce this is just a bowl of plain chicken and rice, (which can be a comforting meal) it just didn't wow me. I would give this place another try, but I don't think I would go out of my way to come back.

Yelp
When my husband told me that he was getting his second COVID vaccine in the Chantilly area, I only had one thing on my mind -- Thai Chicken and Rice! Khao Man Gai is one of my favorite comfort food in the world but the only place I've been able to access it is at the Bangkok 54 Supermarket (and they only put it out every once and awhile), out in California and when my dad makes a Vietnamese version at home! I was able to place an order easily through DM on Instagram and once my husband was finished his vaccine he was on his way to pick up and deliver! I barely had the chance to ask him how he was feeling when I started pouring that amazing ginger sauce onto my chicken and started scarfing down. My husband thought there was way too much rice but he is obviously ridiculous. The combo of steamed and fried chicken was amazing and my only regret was not getting a side of chicken broth to go with it. They also offer catering options to feed families as well! Hope they are able expand a little bit East so they are a little bit more accessible to me but you bet that whenever I'm in the Chantilly area, I'll be picking up an order. I think I have a new favorite place!

Jenn K.

Yelp
First time trying the new Kindi Thai Chicken rice though not new to Umai. This bowl was so good and flavorful. Highly recommend trying it! Very limited seating inside and a few patio tables outside. I got mine to go- quick and easy service!

Yelp
April 2021 - COVID Review: This place is located inside Frontier Kitchen, a ghost/commercial kitchen. This also means that you can only order online for pickup or through the food apps for delivery! On weekends, you can also find them at the Loudoun County Farmer's Market! I got to try the combo khao man gai (Thai chicken and rice), which comes with the fried and poached chicken. The sauces were sweet chili and ginger garlic sauce. Both chicken were delicious but the fried won my heart over! The ginger garlic sauce is also moneyyy! I also got a small bottle of their Thai iced tea, but they also sell Thai lemonade and both come in gallon bags! The KMG portion is super generous and I was so stuffed afterwards. Go get yourself some ASAP!

Yelp
Delicious! The Yelp fam points us towards the right direction once again. Tried calling a few times to place an order but we couldn't reach them (no signal possibly?). Placed an order at the restaurant and it took about 15 mins for it to be ready. Employees are friendly and wrapped our order neatly. Once you enter, there is a yellow bell to ring for assistance. I posted a picture of it. Their menu is simple and straightforward. We enjoyed their Thai Iced Tea and Thai Tea Lemonade. This is our first time trying Thai Tea Lemonade and it was incredibly refreshing and well made. Their poached chicken and fried chicken are both flavorful and have a nice consistency. The rice is fluffy and flavored with chicken broth/herbs. Yum! There is a chicken and rice place in Alhambra, CA that we couldn't stop thinking about after visiting years ago. I'm so glad Kindi Thai Chicken Rice is here. Now we can enjoy something similar in VA :D Comfort food all the way.

Amirah A.

Yelp
Tons of flavor, good portions and quick service. Love the sauces. Prefer the boiled versions to fried. Pricey but high quality

Jazlene G.

Yelp
Believe me guys when I say this but their Khao Man Gai (Thai Chicken Rice) is SO GOOD and RICH! My favorite is the Kindi Combo, which is half poached and half fried Khao Man Gai over simmered rice. The rice really gave character to the dish, as it is simmered with Thai herbs in chicken broth. Literally when my boyfriend took a bite, he was like "Jaz, you gotta try this rice!". We also enjoyed the fried KMG with the homemade ginger and garlic sauce and sweet chili sauce. Their other KMG's are also really good choices as well: the original and grilled. Not to the say the least, we are definitely ordering from here again! Also, you got to pair your food with some Thai Tea! Both their Thai Tea and Thai Tea Lemonade are really good, and I definitely recommend :)

Allie Y.

Yelp
yay! I've been wanting to try this spot for a while. and with my parents visiting, I figured I should order a whole tray chicken & half a gallon of that iced tea. the rice was well seasoned and the chicken was super moist & juicy. but y'all. my favorite part was the thai iced tea. it's half a gallon of goodness. honestly I felt like this was a concentrate of thai iced tea so we added half thai iced tea and milk. whooooo that was so good haha made it so creamy! we had thai iced tea for days after that - daughter loved it the most haha wasn't too sweet once we added extra milk too. I highly recommend y'all try them! owner is really sweet & was excited to meet new customers :)

Arianna P.

Yelp
Been on my list since they opened and i finally had a chance to visit. They're located in an industrial building area. I included some pictures that hopefully helps you find them. They're in the unit 110. Chicken is juicy and flavorful although i preferred the poached chicken rather than the fried one. The sauce that comes with it is so good!! I also ordered the spring rolls, they were pretty good too. The Thai tea lemonade is a bit too sweet for me and the Thai tea is really strong so the lemonade flavor doesn't shine through too much.

Lana S.

Yelp
Heard about this place and when we went to One Loudon Farmers market on Saturday I had to pick me up some chicken and rice! I had it for lunch the following day and man it was so delicious :) chicken is tender, rice is fragrant and the dipping sauce that came with it was nice and spicy. I wish I bought two bowls so I could eat more! The dish reminds me of the street food I had in Thailand. Khao mon gai has always been my favorite and I'm glad this dish is finally getting some recognition :) If I'm back in the area again will def. Be coming back for some more food!

Rachel B.

Yelp
There's no real restaurant front. Kindi Thai shares an industrial place with with other vendors. I was able to just drive up, ring the door bell, and place an order. I was able to wait in my car for the food and for it to be delivered at my car. The wait wasn't very long. The food was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the combo, but would have liked some vegetables aside from a few cucumbers. I would recommend and come back again!

Brian W.

Yelp
This restaurant may be considered a pop-up kitchen since it does not have an actual store front. This kitchen shares space inside of a building located in an industrial area. Parking is very bad. Customers are not allowed inside and there is no phone number. This is the problem! Pickup: I've been here twice and thought the first experience was a fluke based upon the reviews. Nope. The exact same experience both times. You order from the website and receive confirmation via email and/or text. You also receive a message when your food is ready. Both times, I had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for someone to bring my food after receiving the message that it was ready. When you arrive at the building and eventually park your car, you walk up to a door bell and ring it until someone actually appears with your food. No kidding! You stand and wait for your food to pick you. You won't wait in your car in fear of missing your opportunity to get your food. Crazy!! The food: Prepare to spend $15 for 2 big scoops of overcooked Uncle Ben's rice and a grilled, very fatty chicken thigh. Would you like a teaspoon of the spicy sauce...One dollar!!!! The food is average at best and very expensive for the quantity. YMMV 06

Princenatt T.

Yelp
I think I have recently become Kindi's big fan!!! I have been doing the food picked up at their kitchen at least 2-3 a week. I love their new Spicy Basil Pop menu. This dish is so tasty without any additional sauce!!! I usually get my meal with their Thai Tea Lemonade (refreshing!!!) Beside their chicken rice, I also found them selling Thai Crispy Crepe at One Loudon farmer market on Saturday morning as well. The owners were so sweet, nice, and kind. They remembered me from the kitchen and they kindly give me my favorite Thai Tea Lemonade drink! I am smiling as I was typing... just Love thier food so much. Brought me back to Thailand!

Jae J.

Yelp
After the elite event, I craved Kindi Thai everyday after, but had to wait until they were open again...torture to my tastebuds. The wait was well worth it though! I got my same (and now regular) order of khao man gai with extra garlic ginger sauce and a Thai tea. The food was just as great as well as the service and timeliness. I will continue going every week when I am in the area and can't wait for the day they're open everyday. I look forward to trying the whole menu, but the khao man gai still is one of the best I've had and is addicting!

Yelp
Kindi Thai is located at a commercial kitchen in Chantilly called Frontier Kitchen. They are a small business offering a chicken and rice dish served either fried or poached. The poached version is basically like Hainan chicken. Both versions are served with a flavorful rice, a couple of cucumber slices and a delicious garlic sauce. The chicken is very moist and tender, but a bit bland. Good comfort food, but price is a bit steep for the value.

Yelp
This is now one of our new favorite local spots. We ordered via Uber Eats last night and liked the food so much that we ordered again tonight and picked it up ourselves. What I like about Kindi is that their dishes are delectable in their simplicity. The poached chicken that we had in both of the dishes we tried (Signature Khao Man Gai and Kindi Combo) was super moist, delicately seasoned and tasty. The fried chicken that we had on first night (in the Kindi Combo) was good too, but we definitely prefer the poached chicken. We enjoyed our Crispy Chicken Wontons, but craved a bit more poached chicken inside. No real complaints though. The spring rolls are what you'd expect. My top contender for crispy spring rolls is another Thai Place in Sterling, but Kindi's are fine. Lastly, I must mention Kindi's "soup". Oh sweet geezus! That soup broth is heavenly. I immediately regretted only buying one bowl that first night. I made up for it tonight though and ordered extra! It's excellent when sipped on its own, but I also love spooning it over the chicken and rice dishes. If you take nothing else away from this review, please listen to this one thing carefully... Order the soup!!! It's the kind of dish you'll crave when nursing a cold, allergy-induced nasal congestion or just whenever you're in general need of light comfort. Kindi's soup is a warm hug for your insides. Finding the location is a little tricky. As other Yelpers have stated, the restaurant doesn't have a dedicated storefront. It's set-up for pick up and deliveries only. We called and gave our order to a friendly lady named, Jackie, who greeted us warmly when we arrived to retrieve our order. No doubt we'll see her again, as we plan to return again (soon).

Yelp
I've had Hainanese chicken rice so I was intrigued to find that there was a Thai version of it and was excited to try it! I'm all about trying new things and couldn't have been more pleased. They essentially operate out of a ghost kitchen so don't be alarmed if you can't find an actual physical location. Once you drive into the plaza go straight back, make a right at the end, and drive all the way down until you see a huge sign that says Fresh Connections. (They are co-located with other businesses so it's almost like a food hall with different eating options sans physical seating). It's very easy to order online and they confirm when the order is completed. You can call from your car when you get there and someone will bring out the food. Easy peasy. +Signature Khao Man Gai: Oh my, where do I even begin. The chicken is so tender, flavorful, and pairs well with the rice. The rice is cooked in the broth that they cooked the chicken so it was super flavorful and subtle at the same time. The chicken and rice was coated with the natural fat of the chicken but it wasn't overly greasy and the fresh cucumber paired well with it. It comes with a ginger garlic sauce but it really epitomized the flavors of Thai cuisine - slightly tangy, sweet, savory, salty, tangy, with a hint of spice. The sauce cuts down on the grease a bit so it pairs really well with the dish. +Kindi combo: The combo is essentially the same as the signature khao man gai but also includes fried chicken. It really is the best of both worlds where you can try both the poached and fried chicken. The fried chicken was still crispy, tender, and flavorful. It was texturally nice to have two types of chicken in one dish. It also includes the garlic ginger sauce and a sweet chili sauce, almost like a better Mae ploy, so it was nice to have two different types of sauces to dip into. +Soup: The soup seemed underwhelming at first but once you drink it, it's definitely comforting. It pairs with the chicken dishes very nicely and has a white peppery kick to it, which I enjoyed. Just make sure to stir it since the pepper settles on the bottom. Overall we enjoyed our dishes and would get it again! Definitely recommend trying it!

Yelp
A hidden gem in Chantilly for some Khao Man Gai and Fried KMG. My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try and the food did not disappoint. I was looking for some Hainanese chicken rice and this place hits it out of the park! The ginger sauce really compliments the dish and poached chicken was very moist as well. The fried chicken in the Fried KMG was very juicy and it was not drenched in oil. I felt that the amount of rice was a bit too much compared to the chicken. Other than that, it's a great place to try some delicious Khao Man Gai. The location of this place can be very tricky. When the map takes you to Frontier Kitchen, do not panic because that is the correct location. If you click on the appropriate bell, the staff will come out to help you.

Jenna L.

Yelp
I was not expecting too much as there aren't any Hainanese chicken restaurants in this area. However, this place exceeded my expectations! I got the original and the fried version of the chicken and both were very delicious! The rice was fluffy and well seasoned and the sauces (esp the garlic ginger?) were good with the chicken. This place is conveniently located in a plaza where my gym is located, so I'll be making frequent trips. Also got free soup/broth as well!

Finally have a chance to try this place out after been stalking them on instagram for awhile. I have to say that I LOVE Khao Man Gai so much I have to always search for them wherever I go. This dish is pretty simple but have a complex level of deliciousness. The ginger garlic sauce they have is very authentic (only wish it could be a bit more spicy). The chicken was on the spot on tenderness, taste was light but it goes well with the rice and the sauce. Overall, highly recommend this place for those who love Khao Man Gai or Haianese Chicken Rice dish. Let help them getting the word out so they can actually have a physical store in the future!! :))

Yelp
Awesome job Kindi. Very tasty rice. Combo is great. Have a dark meat, a whole chicken option, and do a fresh chili sauce like they do in Malaysia and Singapore and you'd kill it.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!!! their location might be a bit confused but they are inside the commissary kitchen called "Frontier Kitchen". Today is my 3rd time this week coming to get their chicken rice. I missed this dish so much since last visit to Thailand 5 years ago. The rice, the chicken, and the sauce are just perfect! Most definately recommend this place for all Thai street food lovers!

Yelp
This is not your typical Thai Restaurant. Kindi means Let's Eat in Thai. I was happy to learn the meaning as the Thai Chicken Rice and Thai Iced Tea makes me want to eat more of it! The owners are Thai and such kind, wholesome people. Their signature dish is the Thai Chicken Rice, which is a popular thai street food. You can choose between juicyyy fried chicken or poached chicken. I tried both and they are both so delicious, but I'd have to say the crispy fried chicken was my fav. The chicken is served over a bed of aromatic ginger/garlic, perfectly seasoned rice. The rice is cooked in the broth of the chicken and is OH SOO TASTY. Fresh cucumber and chili sauce is served on top. Also if you're a Thai Iced Tea lover like me, you MUST try their Thai Tea Lemonade. It's the lemonade we've all been missing in our life. SO REFRESHING for these 'fake summer' days in VA. Trust me and you're welcome (:

Yelp
I got pic and follow from IG. All i can say If you miss Thai, street food style grilled chicken is the must. If u new to Thai. Compare to Nando, Kin di chicken grilled will kill your past dish. Chicken is rich and juicy. The taste is full of variet of Thai soy sauce. Of couse in Thais we do have 100 kinds of soy sauce. Its mild sweet flavor. After taste you will find a smoked herb rolling in your mouth in Thai This taste mostly available only on street side kiosk. Sometimes u ll probably get it at popular beaches ex. Pattaya, Phuket Patong, pares with Somtum (papaya salad) So i m justbl here to say I finally found the dish that reminds me to Thai i meant authentic Thai street food. Its not like the one serve on chain restaurant that taste is so common. Kindi is unique and flavourful.. 5 stars recommend

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Kindi for a long time! When I arrived at Frontier Kitchen, I rang the bell and someone quickly came to the door to take my order. I waited outside for a few minutes and my food was ready. I ordered the poached chicken, served with rice, cucumber slices and sauce. The chicken and rice was soooo good. I'd love to know how they cook the rice; I couldn't help myself and ate all of it. The reddish sauce is also very good. I would love to see another sauce to accompany the dish. Maybe something with fermented soy? I docked a single star for the rather high price which detracted from the value.

Yelp
This restaurant serves generous portions of delicious food. If you live in the Chantilly area, I recommend giving them a try. Right now they are take-out only, and you can either order ahead or order at the door when you arrive - you cannot go into the establishment. The one trouble I had was finding this place. I drove several circles inside the industrial park where the restaurant is located because the sign outside the business doesn't say Kindi Thai Chicken Rice. At first I was puzzled and a little annoyed, but once I finally found it, it only took 10-15 minutes to get my food. They bring it to you in your car, which I appreciated. I ordered a Thai iced tea, spring rolls, and the fried chicken bowl. The spring rolls were delicious, though I would have preferred them not fried. I was hungry and live about 40 minutes away from the restaurant, so I ate them as I drove home. They were not messy! I also thought the portion size was good, but I would have loved to have more cucumber. I loved the seasoning of the rice. Overall, this is a solid option if you live in the Chantilly area and want a quick, tasty lunch or dinner option.

Yelp
Takeout only but don't let that deter you! I tried them out when I was ordering a few things from Frontier Kitchen. I was looking for something simple and comforting and felt this would fit the bill. I got the grilled KMG with a Thai ice tea which didn't take long. By the time I got there for pick up they were ready to pass my meal over. I love this, the chicken was flavorful and the rice was just amazing. I can't remember which sauce I liked more though I think at some point I used one for chicken and one for rice and it was good. The tea was nice too, refreshing.

Yelp
I want to support this business with 5 stars but it is just really expensive. I am used to eating thai chicken rice in SF which is quite an expensive city. But $16 for chicken and rice + $3 for broth is very high. Food- Chicken rice is pretty good Chicken boiled is okay Fried chicken- skip this, it isn't great Sauce isn't bad, but there was not enough Broth pretty good I wish I could support this local business more but I don't plan to go back.

Yelp
The food was good especially the taste of rice is sooo delicious. Bring me back memories from Thai trip ! :) However i think they messed up my drink. I ordered thai tea lemonade but I got the thai tea only.

Yelp
I have seen many Thai places serve up Khao Mun Gai but never actually tried it so when I saw this new place I decided to give it a go. Kindi Thai has limited menu but the food is delicious. The chicken is always cooked to perfection. The ginger- garlic sauce is too strong for my liking but goes well with the chicken and rice. Favs: Kindi Combo and crispy wontons.

Yelp
I got to try this place through the Elite event for a complimentary dish here. I'm pretty impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. First, this restaurant is located inside the frontier kitchen. Just a direction tip: it's behind the marble systems. You would need to ring the bell for them to come out. There is no dine-in area, so you can either eat in your car or take it home. I got Signature Khao Man Gai (poached chicken on rice), which comes with ginger and garlic sauce. The chicken is juicy but a bit bland. The rice was good; I believe they use chicken broth to cook the rice. I absolutely love the sauce as it makes the dish complete. I would definitely recommend this place and love to try other dishes as well.

Yelp
This place shared the same location with a Japanese ramen place. I don't know how they do it, but it took me a while to figure out where it is. It has no sign of its own. Signature Khao Man Gai is good but not great, the chicken can be more tender. It's more of Chinese or Malasian food than Thai. The meat portion is small for the price. I might go there again maybe once a year type of frequencey.

Yelp
Is Khao Mun Gai... trending!? I've noticed more Thai places have it on the menu now, and as a Thai person I was so excited at first. Then I actually got it from a couple places and was horrified. It's as if they don't even know what the dish is supposed to be. So when I got a Yelp suggestion to try Kindi, I was dubious at first. Then I checked out their website/menu and was impressed that the dish is their main focus, which I think tells you all you need to know. I don't care if there are less menu options if they excel at making one dish perfectly. Anyway, both the classic and fried versions of Kindi's Khao Mun Gai were SPOT ON! Best sauce by a long shot, and their simmered rice too. My (white) husband who isn't normally into stuff like this just said "let's get that again soon"! We're still getting food to-go and the classic KMG was perfect when we got home. If you get the fried KMG though, I recommend opening the lid right away while you drive home so it stays crispy. (They did cut a vent in the lid but it wasn't quite enough to stop the condensation.) One last random note. I think I had seen ads for Kindi before but assumed it was an Indian place... Thai language and its sounds are notoriously hard to romanize, and "Kindi" honestly does sound Indian the way it would be read in American English. The actual pronunciation is closer to "gkinn-DEE" in Thai. You can look up "eat well" in Google Translate to hear it. :)

Yelp
So there are a few options in this area for Hainanese chicken rice, but this is probably my favorite now. They offer a fried KMG version which is just spectacular. The chicken, the sauce, the rice. You can't go wrong. The combination is also great for people who want the OG poached style but want to try the fried one. Their new location is in some industrial office park which you can easily miss while driving by. Turn right at the granite, not marble, sign when you're in the park. Go all the way down to the end and it's the catering place. Because it's a ghost kitchen, customers aren't supposed to go inside and it's just curbside delivery. The only complaint I have is I wish the to-go format was a bit better because by the time I get home (30 min drive), the crispy fried chicken is no longer as crispy and is kinda mushy from the moisture.

Yelp
Legit place to get Khao Man Gai! I'm half Thai and this is a dish I make from time to time. I make mine different but I'm always up for trying different versions. I enjoyed the fried chicken - really tasty. The portions are huge! The only reason for 4 stars is the rice was a bit over cooked for my liking but other than that it was great. Thai tea was on point. Will be back! Thanks for a great lunch.
