Geneva's coffee and food scene has been somewhat disappointing so far but Kindred Fare certainly made up for it! Ordered the fried chicken under the kids' menu and it was perhaps one of the best fried chicken I've had. The cornmeal crust tasted incredible, and the chicken was fried to perfection. 🍗 Both the service and the ambiance of the place were amazing, too.

Great atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food! Justin was a great server and walked us through the menu with great recommendations. The house-made bread and gluten free crackers were amazing, followed by the steak and pan seared salmon. They make an awesome old fashioned with house made bitters too with a taste of cinnamon. Overall great spot for dinner or a special occasion.

Just splendid! I had my birthday dinner with my partner here on a Monday night. We had a reservation for two and got in easy with no wait. We went with the Chef’s Menu which was strawberry themed this week. Everything was amazing! We also had the poutine as a starter. The salads are an absolute must here. My partner and I both agree it was the best out of all the dishes we had. I also had to get the cherry Sunna Wellness Elixir since I was so impressed with them from the previous Wellness Elixir pairing dinner I attended here. Our server, Emily, was also very kind and attentive. Thanks for making my birthday great!

We stopped before a show at the Smith Opera House, and ended up wishing we had more time for dinner. The atmosphere was lovely: brick, black accents, plants. Our server Ellie was bubbly and knowledgeable. Our entrees were a tasty crab cake with a tangy slaw, and a burger drizzled with garlic aioli and crunchy pickles. We each had a glass of wine as well (LOCAL Anthony Road winery....bravo!) Alas, we only spent 40 minutes there. I look forward to coming back when we have more time to linger over small plates, cocktails, and maybe dessert.

Had a light meal here, came because of the poutine, but got carried away by the field salad. Apparently they have seasonal fruits in the salad and yet still manage to make it delicious. The poutine was delicious as well but the gravy was a tad bit salty. Would definitely come again for both.

We have been visiting the Finger Lakes area for several days now and this is one of the restaurants that I chose for dinner. I chose this based on recommendations from a Facebook group and also the reviews on here. We arrived at 7:15 and we’re immediately seated. I can’t remember our servers name, but she was very nice and very proud of where she worked when she told us that everything that can be made in the restaurant was made there. My partner started with a glass of Billsboro Chardonnay and I had black iced tea. He thought the Chardonnay was just OK. My iced tea was very good. I ordered the flank steak with french fries and instead of the garlic aïoli I asked for the homemade ketchup. My partner had the pasta Primavera with chicken and he also ordered a side of the focaccia bread. The flank steak I ordered was cooked to perfection. The homemade steak sauce and homemade ketchup was excellent. My partner enjoyed his pasta Primavera entrée. The focaccia was a little on the dry side, but the homemade butter was excellent. We shared the three scoop ice cream flight which consisted of a scoop of vanilla, a scoop of chocolate, and a scoop of melon sorbet. For $15 it could’ve been better. They all had good flavor, but in my opinion, I think they were put into the jars ahead of time and put back into the freezer which made the vanilla and chocolate icy. Overall, a good experience, but there were still a few misses.

Breaking up our drive back to Ohio from Canada and decided to stay a night in Geneva, NY. I was looking for dinner options on Google Maps and am glad I stumbled across Kindred Fare. What a fantastic meal and service to match from Lewis. I had the crab cake sandwich and chocolate coconut tart, and they were delicious. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend dining here, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
Aesthetically, this place is cozy, interesting, adorable, and gorgeous. The cocktails and menu items are innovative and tasty. The wine selection was expansive and had some great local options. I really loved this place, and I'm so happy I stumbled upon it!

Yelp
Kindred Fare creates food that is good for your body and soul. Every time you try one of their amazing foods, it takes you back, and makes you feel like you are having a home cook meal. From the design of their dishes, to the flavors, to the aromas, you can tell that they take pride in the food that they serve. Kindred Fare offers a menu with a lot of variety that's offers many gluten free options. They also have a full service bar that creates incredible cocktails. If you are dining in, I recommend making a reservation because it does get pretty crowded, and the bar has limited seating. I highly recommend ordering their crispy calamari and friendship fries to start. Both are incredibly delicious and both dishes will make you want more and more. Next, I recommend their Fried Chicken and Mac and Cheese. Kindred Fare took comfort food and raise the bar. Each bite was absolutely incredible and I could not put my fork down. If you are in the area and are looking for incredible food, then Kindred Fare is the place for you. Come hungry and you will leave with your belly full.

Yelp
After walking out of another restaurant for no service after a reservation and 1/2 hr at table , I called here, knowing it was good. They got us in on a Saturday night at 7. Great service, food and quality. Love the vibe. By far the best restaurant in Geneva.

Yelp
I had my first visit to Kindred Fare in October 2023. I was grateful for the opportunity to visit again. I won an instagram event giveaway last minute and was able to participate in a special community event. How lucky! The event was a ladies night out wellness event. It was a great evening hosted by two local women who have health and wellness related businesses in the area. It was great to engage in discussion on the topic and learn from each other. The menu was unbelievable. Everything we ate was so fresh (the items were sustainably made with local ingredients) We also learned about the why behind the ingredients used in how they related to digestive health. The stand out item for me was the soup and main entree. I've never had trout before and was amazed by the flavor. It reminded me of salmon. It paired very well with the ginger carrot purée and broccoli. The way it was prepared made it so tender. It just melted in your mouth. I also enjoyed the flavor combination of the seafood bisque with locally made sourdough bread. We had our own private room which made the event feel intimate and private. Kindred Fare offers a unique dining experience unlike any other in the area.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Upstate NY/finger lakes region! They have amazing high quality food, great cocktail and wine menu, as well as a friendly staff :) I can't recommend the cauliflower wings and kindred kale salad enough! Both are amazing appetizers. Warning: portion size is generous so I'd get a few things to share

Yelp
Wow! I'm a foodie and rarely post reviews. This place is a knockout. Cozy ambiance, exceptional service . Food was outstanding, fresh and delicious. Best calamari we've ever had. Location was right next to our hotel (which I would usually not associate with high quality dining), a real treat.

Yelp
I recently dined at Kindred Fare in Geneva, NY, with neighbors, and it was a fantastic experience. The drink options were impressive, and I loved the gin special with glitter--a fun and unique touch. I enjoyed the BLC pasta special, which was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the variety of gluten-free and vegan options on the menu.

Yelp
Went here tonight for a planned vacay dinner. The Prix Faire would be a surprise until we got there to see what it would be tonight. Much to my astonishment it was pan seared duck, the big missing link to my food story...how could I not... Well, all I know about how duck should be cooked is that the skin should be crisp and the fat rendered out. Neither was the case for mine, but my companion's was closer. My first try at duck? Meh... But the carrot and ginger puree, well, I just showered in it... The veggies were undercooked for my taste. The starter Local Veggie Gespacho is probably good, but neither of us liked it, except for the jumbo grilled shrimp. The Black Forest Truffle dessert was very good. Would I recommend this place? Probably. The burgers and poutine looked great as did the pasta with a crabcake... now I'm hungry again...

Yelp
Well, thanks to the recommendation from Tim A from the Ron DeSantis state of fine cuisine, Kindred Fare must have stepped up their game because we were simply delighted with every aspect of our mid April visit. From the warm welcome, to the "Briney Bunch Snacktini" of fried buttermilk pickles & a superbly made dirty gin martini with 3 plump olives by Raleigh, to 6 fabulous entrees served by the jovial, Hospitality Manager Jude, we all agreed that this was a fabulous choice for any occasion. 2 enjoyed the Pear & Lively Run Sheldrake Moon grilled flatbread while 2 others devoured their grass-fed Grilled Flank Steak with black garlic butter & house steak sauce, with rosemary fries & a garlic aioli. Lee said that his Field Green Salad with an added Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was excellent. I think that I had the wining dish..from the specials menu, filets of Rainbow Trout on sweet potato gnocchi with a (maybe garlic) cauliflower puree...absolutely fabulous, perfectly seasoned with crisp skin that was commendable. Drinks were perfect, we had many. If we were staying in the hotel behind, I would have had yet a 3rd. The space is casual but neat, uncluttered with an open kitchen and a well stocked bar (rum & bourbon selections caught our eye) Raleigh is the Bar Manager & knowledgeable about Kindred Fare's robust wine program as well as the local wine scene & craft beer. We wish we lived closer...this would be my go to for celebrations, after work & just dining out. We loved everything about Kindred Fare & despite living in an area over populated with good dining, there are not many places that I would return time & again like I would here.

Yelp
Visiting from Florida in July 2024 and our meal at Kindred was definitely the best meal of our whole visit! If you happen to be gluten-free, as my wife is, I'm pretty certain you will love this spot since there are a number of options. My wife had fried chicken , which she can never normally have at a restaurant, and she loved it. A few of us had one of their specials a fennel sausage pasta, great dish. Another had scallops, great dish. Appetizers were especially incredible. Sounds simple enough but their French fries were unlike any you will ever have ever, incredibly original and tasty. We also had calamari which my wife usually can never have at a restaurant, solid. Modern looking restaurant, a little loud acoustics there, but the food was so good, who cares. Strongly suggest eating here

Yelp
This was an absolutely lovely experience while on our trip in the finger lakes. This cute restaurant is well decorated, serving all local ingredients and a nice wine menu. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. We started with a local wine and the seasonal flatbread. The flatbread was absolutely delicious, very light and fresh. For dinner I got the kindred kale salad with chicken and it was really delicious, light on the dressing, and lots of toppings, my perfect kind of salad. My husband got the fried chicken and said it was good too! I think this is an excellent option for when you're visiting

Yelp
Went last night with my wife to celebrate our 18th anniversary. I must've mentioned that when I made the reservation because both the hostess and our waiter greeted us with a "Happy Anniversary!" I knew then, we were in good hands. The vibe of the place is really great. The volume of the room is as expected and certainly not loud to the point of affecting conversation. The look into the kitchen from the dining room floor is fun. The food: 1) We got the poutine for an app. Even the smaller size is substantial. The flavor of the gravy has depth and the fries are really well seasoned. I asked for some ketchup simply because I knew it was house made and I wanted to try it. It's a touch sweeter than bottled ketchup but has enough vinegar in it to make that work. This was a satisfying app! 2) The fennel sausage pasta. This dish was amazing. The cook on the house made pasta was perfect and the noodle itself was just the right amount of rustic. The sauce was tasty and complimented the sausage perfectly. The chickpeas in there was a pleasant surprise. And can't go wrong with the burrata on top either. Let me add: You MUST get the focaccia with this dish. Best I've had. And the house made butter is spot on. 3) The fried chicken. Nice crisp fry. Generous portion of chicken- four pieces. The sauce on it was tasty but not evenly distributed. Some pieces had a lot and some had none. Not sure if that's intentional. The coleslaw and pickles were so good and necessary for this dish. I wanted more. I actually would have been happy with three pieces of chicken and more coleslaw. 4) Brussel sprouts side. I loved this but my wife doesn't like mushrooms. So be advised. Nice level of sweetness and vinegar in there. 5) Chocolate coconut tart - very intense dark chocolate flavor. Mostly tasted the coconut in the crust. The raspberry sauce was bright. This was good, not exceptional. 6) Special dessert: Ricotta panna cotta. THIS was special. I would say make it a regular dessert. Texture and flavor so good. Crunchy pistachios (I think) on top was great. There was like a brown butter or caramel/chocolate sauce under it that was very good. The service (Lewis) was excellent. The parking lot makes it an easy place to access. I've already recommended this spot to my Syracuse and Rochester friends. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Geneva. Restaurant is modern, bright and pleasing to dine in. Seating is spaced out. In spring and autumn, the patio would be a lovely dining space. Service is fast, prompt and friendly. We went twice during our trip. First night was Friendship fries, pork belly with jasmine rice and curried tofu and vegetable pasta. Fries were earthy but also refreshing and I loved the pickled onions, little bits of fried garlic, feta and the spicy Chipotle Mayo. The pork belly is a very heavy option and also has the spicy Mayo. I wouldn't recommend eating them back to back. The curried vegetables pasta was comforting and tasted like a refined dhal. My favorite was the pasta. We came back on Monday again and this time, we opted for the prix fixe. Appetizers were seared scallops, spaghetti squash gratin (with lion's mane mushroom). Entrees were eggplant naploneta (with a whole ball of burrata and bolognese gnocchi. Desserts were peach pie and raspberry creme brulee. Favorites were the scallops, gnocchi and crème brulee. Their portion sizes are very generous and we always have to pack the food up. A very good rendition of a farm to table restaurant with lovely service and a great ambiance. If you can swing it definitely Mondays and save room for dessert.

Yelp
Excellent service, Justin! Food was excellent, we really enjoyed the homemade pasta special, salad with ginger carrot dressing, crab cake was good but not lump.. instead it was shredded but otherwise tasty and had lots of crab meat compared to filling. We enjoyed the outside patio better than inside, which was very loud. Excellent quality ingredients. We would enjoy coming here again!

Yelp
Drinks: 6/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Tucked away next to two hotels and a Sherwin Williams oaint is this amazing restaurant, specializing in local ingredients (both food and spirits) from the Finger Lakes. I have now been here twice, and each time it was excellent. The cocktail and spirits list is comprehensive and focused on smaller distilleries. The service is uniformly excellent. The food? Good-to-great. Highlights include the cauliflower hot honey "wing" appetizer and the rotating specialities. Both times I visited it was crowded (and with good reason!) and we had reservations.

Yelp
I have been wanting to come here since it opened and I'll be back for the Prix Fixe Monday Menu. In all of my days I have never seen a bunch of people on Saturday rushing in for a 5 pm dinner reservation and this seriously happened. So going into this spot it's all warm woods, dimly lit yes they have big windows but if it's overcast/raining be aware you might need your cell phone to look at the menu. The menu is seasonal and they have certain things always on the menu. They make a lot in house like the pastas, crackers and etc for your cheese board and the like. My friend brought me here for a belated birthday dinner and I was grateful for this treat. Our server was lovely but at the beginning just a little too on top of us. I get it you want to turn tables but we just got here and for two people why did they put us basically at a six top? When we arrived we had gotten here early, after we got in, seated the server showed up I unfortunately during her spiel needed the ladies room. When I came back I made a decision on the cocktail to start with: SPRINGTIME FOR LAFAYETTE vodka, cucumber, bianco vermouth, genepy, lime, hibiscus This was lovely and refreshing for this kind of springtime weather if possible try a cocktail. When we ordered my cocktail we ordered the NYS Cheese Board and we got all three cheeses. This is what was on it: New York State Cheese Board served with house made focaccia bread, gluten free buckwheat raisin crackers, house pickles & whole grain mustard × lively run, finger lakes gold, goat, ny × old chatham camembert, sheep & cow, ny × lively run, cayuga blue, cow, ny This was so, so good and a must get, the focaccia was warm, all three cheeses were perfect for the bread and crackers and the house pickles. Now after just putting this down on the table I kid you not two minutes later she was (the server) asking us how it was and if we knew what we wanted to order.. can you give two girls a minute to enjoy. It annoyed me, I get it if they wanted everything to be ordered at once and staggered out fine tell us but Lordy we came an hour away from Rochester cant we sit for a few minutes. I was waffling between two different mains and than I asked what was something that was seasonal and I went with the: Pork Shank & Pierogi bostrom farms pork, shiitake mushrooms, house potato, cheddar & onion pierogis, kale, pork jus, sour cream And my friend got the: Pork Belly Rice Bowl "PORK BELLY" OR "TOFU VEGETABLE" RICE BOWL* turmeric rice, miso glaze, local fried egg, pickled onions, spicy mayo, scallions, peanuts, sesame seeds We tried each of our main dishes and were surprised how large they were I took mine home after I tried a good deal of it. My pork shank was tender and savory and I loved the addition of the shiitake mushrooms and those fabulous house made pierogi's better than my grandmother's. My friends Pork Belly was succulent and had a nice umami hit and the rice was well made and tasty. My friend brought in a split of some Pol Roger Champagne to drink and FYI they have a corkage fee. I appreciate her bringing it but felt bad she had to pay the feel but hey I get it. We shared the CHOCOLATE COCONUT TART* coconut milk & dark chocolate, almond flour crust + add a scoop of ice cream or sorbet This is in all honesty something you really can't finish on your own it's so rich but the dark chocolate and coconut was so decadent but a nice way to finish off the meal. In all honesty I'll be back for sure, the place is really great, food was delicious and service was nice but... always a but I was a little annoyed of our server being a little too on top of us. Our reservation was at 5 we got out right before 6:30 pm so about an hour and a half. I'm guessing if you had more people it would be longer. I get it nowadays some places state they only want you at a table for so long.. but at the beginning of the experience being on top of us and I'd never been here was a ho hum. I think the idea of reservation only is a good idea at this place it's not huge and had a private room that was lovely. Some people did try to do a walk in but... I give the place 4.5/5 stars. They have plenty of parking and yes kids it's worth the trip from Rochester. I'll be back, give them a whirl.

Yelp
Kindred Fare is great! Wonderful spot for gluten-free dining where you can enjoy majority of the menu even with allergy. My fiancée and I shared a mushroom arancini app (gluten-free) and he got the gluten-free fish and chips, whereas I got a pasta dish (could not be made gluten-free). We also shared a creme brûlée dessert, which was gluten-free. Our waiter was also great and accommodating. Good cocktails too! Everything was delicious!

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at Kindred Fare. I had the salmon special with corn salsa, zucchini and brown butter and my husband had the special homemade pasta with roasted rabbit. We split the poutine for an app. Everything was delicious. The specialty cocktails were well-crafted but fairly small. My Espresso martini was half foam. Our server Nicole was wonderful and gave us some great suggestions of local wineries to visit. We're looking forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes. Highly recommend Kindred Fare!

Yelp
Visited Geneva, NY for the week and had the absolute pleasure of having dinner at Kindred Fare! The restaurant is much bigger than pictured with great parking. The drinks were interesting - I had Leo Season from the mocktail list. It was delightful because I expected something similar to a Bloody Mary but it was light, bubbly with a hint of tomato with a splash of sweetness. Worth a try! We had the Mac and cheese and it was of course DELICIOUS! It was what we expected. Gooey cheese and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I had the fried chicken as the main course and I have a lot to say... first, please share this with the table - it's 4 huge pieces. I would recommend ordering a few things and sharing it family style. Second, the sauce that is drizzled on top of the chicken was my favorite part. It wasn't a typical buffalo sauce - had the right flavors and acid. I was finding more on the plate to dip. Third, the chicken itself was brined perfectly. Every meat had flavor and the crust was crispy perfection. Lastly, the dessert..! We had the butternut squash cheesecake. Very different. Not too sweet but it was just right with the coconut caramel graham cracker crust. All in all, they're worthy to be on the every list they're on because they're that delicious. Our waitress was attentive and the hosts were great. The ambiance was nice for a night out or for great vibes! Thank you for a great time!

Yelp
First time here, and it was fabulous! Delicious choices and we felt fortunate to have a seat at the bar on a busy night. Kindred Fare has a great vibe and our bartender/server Raleigh was outstanding. It was a perfect meal after attending an opening at The Dove Block Project Gallery and I'm looking forward to my return. "Kindred Fare" is a great name, and as we were about to leave The Dove, our last conversation was "it's our favorite place."

Yelp
We discovered this rustic but modern restaurant in Geneva. The service was excellent. Our waitress recommended drinks to our taste and we love them. Their food was delish. Reservation is recommended.

Yelp
Everything about my experience here was bad. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes for the server to come, we were ready to order but she wanted us to look at the specials first, came back 10 more minutes later, we still ordered what we would have. I ordered a poblano burger, medium with fries. No where on earth is a Burger worth $25 but they really didn't have anything else that appealed to me. The burger was served medium rare at best, I love my steak this way but a burger shouldn't bleed. I don't send food back and we didn't see the server to discuss it anyway. There was not enough poblano on it to even taste that it was there. I was starving after a long flight arriving after dinner so I ate it all but wouldn't have given other options. There is a 2% hospitality surcharge on all the food, it says it is to help stay competitive. I explained that I am under expense restrictions and I could either pay the surcharge or tip the server, they quickly removed it but the action offends me. Hidden charges are unethical. When asked about my meal I did not intend to complain so I said it was OK. The hostess became defensive, asked leading questions followed by canned responses. I was not impressed, She told me I should have sent it back or ordered something else, remember the server did not return until she brought our bill. This looks like a really nice place. I hope they step up their game but I will not be back to find out.

Yelp
Good but doesn't live up to the hype. Came here with group of friends. The inside is very classy and extremely clean. We split the cauliflower wings which were super crispy and a perfect texture. I was recommended the ramen by the waitress but wasn't impressed. The noodles didn't work with the soup and I thought the flavor was pretty bland. However a friend got the rice bowl which she said was fantastic. For the high price point, I'd try somewhere else.

Yelp

Yelp
Geneva is a nice restaurant Town, I've been to several and they're all above average. I was a guest in Seneca Lake, and afterwords the host and hostess took me to this restaurant. Great vibe, at least for us, but then again, our host is a regulars there, so many seemed to happily & warmly remembered them. I started with two appetizers to share, one was the fried calamari, and the other was buffalo fried cauliflower. Again, both were well above average. I am personally ordered a salad, at first I thought $12 seems a lot for a salad, but it was a generous in amount, but more so it was again wonderful and well above a salad at a good restaurant. In essence, I am not unhappy with what I got, and what I was charged. My entrée was a 1 pound flank steak. I haven't made one or eaten one in decades. Loved it and made it all along the way. Great rosemary & garlic fries. My suggestion ask for the french fries crispy. As everything else, wonderful Great service from the waitress as well as the hostess. My only slight disappointment was, it took forever to have a bottle of wine brought to me, whereas everybody else who ordered liquor had their drinks almost immediately. The only other oddity to me was that when I later looked at the receipt, I noticed they charged me a 2% hospitality charge. No, I didn't notice it, and I could've easily have canceled it if I wanted to, but it did seem odd to me. Nonetheless, loved it, and would be very happy to come back

Yelp
Tasty food, wonderful cocktails, and friendly service. Especially enjoyed the steak and kale salad. Will be back.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. So much so, that I can't wait for a return visit. My husband and I arrived about 20 minutes ahead of our reservation and was immediately told we would be seated at the "reservation time" and we could take a seat in the vestibule area. The hostess offered to bring us drinks while we waited for our table. To our surprise, we were seated 10 minutes early. We were informed of the nightly specials, which we chose and it was outstanding. We opted for the spaghetti with pork belly, fennel sausage and sautéed peppers. The ingredients were fresh and the pasta was homemade. Absolutely amazing....it doesn't get any better than this. If you're in the Geneva area, stop by. Reservations are a must, even in the bar area!

Yelp
If I could leave 6 stars I would! The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of every aspect of Kindred Fare is amazing and very much appreciated. From the atmosphere, music and the greeting at the door, you know you're in for an outstanding meal and experience. My wife and I ordered local wine and beer to start. The bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. We split the apple sausage flatbread and house fries and finished off with the coconut caramel ice cream. Every part of this meal was better than we imagined it could be. Can't wait for our next stop at Kindred Fare!

Eric G.

Yelp
Our server was courteous and attentive. But the food was pretty terrible. In particular, the crab cake, which two out of our party of four ordered, was the WORST crab cake I've ever been served, and I've eaten many. The extra-large crab-cake--all portions were generous--contained VERY little crab meat. As a result a) it didn't taste much like crab and b) it was kind of soupy and barely held together. Do not order this: you'll regret it. The fried chicken was well cooked, but came covered in a too-sweet sauce. The tofu in a tofu and vegetable rice bowl also came covered in a sweet sauce. We took that home, uneaten, to wash off the sauce. There also weren't many vegetables. In short, this was not good food. I'm not sure what all the five-star reviews that drew us here were enthused about. We won't be back.

Yelp
We had NE fish chowder, kale salad, pork belly rice bowl, and fried chicken. The fish chowder was too salty to my taste. The kale salad was fine but the dressing was slightly too salty. The chicken was delicious and the pork belly was fine. The restaurant was noisy but clean and nice. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
This place was mentioned to my wife and I a couple times, so we thought we would give it a shot. It has great reviews and was fairly close to where we are staying. We were greeted right away upon entry and then were seated almost immediately. After looking over the regular menu and the prix fixe menu, we decided to go with the prix fixe plus the wine pairing since we are in the finger lakes. We both chose the seafood stew for the first course, which came with these nicely salted waffle chips. The stew was slightly lacking in the flavor department and the swordfish was a bit fishy. For my next course, I chose the flank steak and that came with horseradish mashed potatoes and I believe daikon radish sprinkled on top. The steak was rolled with green onion inside and had a Korean style barbecue sauce on it. The flank steak was super chewy with tendons in it, which made it kind of hard to eat. The flavor was good and the mashed potatoes were as well. For the last course I chose the apple cider sorbet with caramel and apples and that turned out to be the best part of meal. As for the wine pairings, we were brought our wine with each course, but were not told what they were, where they came from or anything. The restaurant had a cool, low lite ambience with like a rustic modern look. If we lived in the area, we may have gave it another try.

Yelp
The mood at this restaurant is fantastic for a nice night out, and we were greeted very warmly by the hostesses. Our waitress started out friendly enough, but then seemed visibly annoyed that we didn't order drinks (we'd been out wine tasting most of the day and just wanted water). She never quite warmed up to us after that. Great French fries, focaccia bread, and my husband enjoyed his salmon dinner. I got the pasta special, and it was not good at all. The noodles were under cooked (way less than "al dente", they were borderline crunchy), and the flavor was very bland. For $28 pasta, one expects something pretty outstanding. I was very disappointed after reading all the rave reviews.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a place to have a nice dinner at the last minute on a Saturday night. We kept seeing Kindred Fare mentioned as one of the best places around and, after our visit, I can see why. Everyone was so welcoming and found a way to get us a table during such a busy night. Our server, Jude, was so kind and knowledgeable, offering excellent suggestions. We ordered the cauliflower appetizer and were impressed how deliciously crispy it was. My rice bowl which I subbed in chicken instead of pork was just so very yummy. My husband loved his fried chicken as well. He added fries and raved about the house-made garlic aioli. We would have loved dessert but we were so full of all of the great food. We would love to return in the future for another fantastic meal with equally fabulous service.

Yelp
Atmosphere is rugged barn feel. Up beat and clean. You can see the cooks at work. We had a great couple of visits with Arial with red hair. Mor like strawberry blond it the light we were in. She makes you feel relaxed and conforable. Attative. Great table side manner. Always has a smile and bubbly personality. Ask for her on your reservation. Wen. To sat. She will make it special.

Yelp
Stayed in Geneva for work was looking for some "healthier" farm to table options for takeout. Being a Monday in a small town I was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by Kindred Fare. I ordered the pork belly rice bowl and a small flank steak. Everything was cooked perfectly, both the steak and pork melted in your mouth and were not short on flavor. The home made butter and steak sauce added a nice zing, while the pork belly glaze was just subtly sweet. The hostess was delightful and welcoming and made sure my order was complete before I walked out. I would like to give them 4.5 stars as that is well deserved!

Yelp
We love coming here with friends and family or for a date night!! The specials are so good and match with the season, but the regular menu is just as good. Cocktails and wine list are great. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun, but a little loud so not the best place for tons of in depth conversation. Cock

Yelp
What a hidden gem here in Geneva! We were here visiting family from Rochester and was staying for the week on Seneca Lake, reminding me of my days in High School when one friend had a lake house here during our high school years. This time, we had a large group of family, with children from 4-18 with us. Knowing this restaurant is only open a few hours a night, we made it early enough where there wouldn't be any issues with our reservation as well as overwhelming the kitchen. Justin was our server, professional and courteous. Handled our large group with no issues. I started out ordering the Spaghetti squash and kale gratin as an appetizer. It was shocking how good something can be when you smother it in cream and cheese, right? LOL. But it was salty, gooey, and hit the spot. Knowing my nephew ordered something he wasn't sure he would like- I went and ordered the mac and cheese in case we needed to share. It was also delicious, I got the bacon and scallions on the side so that the non-red meat eaters could enjoy the cheesy goodness with also the panko breadcrumb topping. Cannot go wrong when eating here! Turns out, lots of people know about this place. I was shocked it's open from 5-9. That's it. So it counts, when you are supporting a small business. I would recommend coming here for an intimate dinner with that special someone, or with friends to share a bunch of food together- or even that larger family gathering. It all works here. Thank you to Justin and the team here. We enjoyed it, although I forgot my leftovers, (we all did) it still was worth the visit when back in town. Support small owned businesses!

Yelp
They're perfect for wine and dine as long as you want and have money to cover the excellent drinks and food. Very friendly service

Yelp
Kindred Fare is my all time favorite restaurant. As a vegan/plant-based eater, I am thrilled to see a fully vegan menu option. Normally when I go out, I can only eat one thing on the menu and there is litter variation. It is so nice to have a place to go that has an entire vegan menu in addition to a 'normal' menu. I love that I can eat something more than just a salad! The cauliflower wings are my favorite and the tofu rice bowl is to die for. I had my 40th birthday dinner here and the vegan chocolate torte was outstanding. If I get to choose, this is ALWAYS the place I am picking to eat! You will NOT be disappointed!

Yelp
The food was excellent starting with a calamari like we never have had. The scallops and crab cake sandwich were both outstanding. The server was there for our every need and being in the side room away from the bar provided the ambiance to have a good conversation.

Yelp
We hosted the rehearsal party for our son's wedding at Kindred Fare this past Friday night. The room only holds up to 32 people. The table arrangements were tough. I ended up facing the 3 people across from me and the parking lot the entire evening. My back was to everyone else and I missed everything. There are no drapes or sound-deadening pads on the walls or ceiling and the acoustics were bad. You couldn't talk without yelling over the echo. The family style food portions were small. The biggest joke was the salad for the whole table. It was so small I could have easily eaten 2 of them myself. It was dry just like the pasta. Nobody asked would you like more salad (or anything else). There was no salt or pepper on the tables. The potatoes were ok, that is the best I can say. I was embarrassed to have our guests at this kickoff to our son's wedding weekend. It was terrible and a night I would like to forget. Book at your own risk.

Yelp
A celiac friendly restaurant. I had fried chicken for the first time in I can't even remember. And it was great! Can't recommend enough for gluten intolerant people and the population at large. It's a very lovely feel and great vibes inside.

Yelp
The food, the service and the atmosphere were all great, our waiter was attentive without being over bearing, guided us through the specials and even shared the bartender's recipe for his bitters mix in my old fashioned made with Local bourbon whiskey. This was our second finger lakes trip, but you can bet we'll be back at this restaurant the next time we are in the area

Yelp
We stopped by early and didn't have a reservation, luckily they were able to seat us. Nice atmosphere. We had a pork chop that was cooked perfectly and was very favorable. We also had a rice bowl with chicken which was also very favorable. Would recommend this restaurant

Yelp
A must stop if you're in the Geneva area. Menu is limited which means the food is fresh. Service is stellar. Hands down, my favorite place to eat in the Finger Lakes.

Yelp
Yummy food and great atmosphere! I tried the poutine and it was so good! The fries weren't soggy and the gravy was the perfect thickness. The cheese was also perfectly melted and delicious! The broccolini was also really good! Big portions for both! Service was also good. Not where you expect a fine dining restaurant to be located, but finding it wasn't difficult. Ample parking and good sized restaurant.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and excellent service. Expected a fine dining experience but the food leaves much to be desired with overpriced mediocre pub fare ($29 for fried chicken & sandwich meals).

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick dinner and I'm glad I stopped by. The service was great, our server was attentive and friendly. My friend ended up getting the burger, which was well flavored and juicy; the bread itself was delicious. I ended up getting the gluten free penne Mac and cheese with a half order of the kale salad. The Mac and cheese was delicious, it was rich and smooth . The kale salad was fantastic, the dressing/cheese they used made it addictive! We also ordered a drink to share, it was the wallflower, mezcal based drink which was really good. It went perfectly with out meal. This is a place I would go to again if I came back !
