"Ruffian is one of our favorite wine bars in NYC, and the only reason we hesitate to recommend it to everyone is the fact that the 19-seat space tends to fill up before most people get out of work. But you don’t need to run the risk of a two-hour wait for excellent Mediterranean food and natural wines in the East Village anymore because Kindred, which is from the same people, opened around the corner. The small bar area up front is great for small plates and Happy Hour drinks, but unlike Ruffian, there’s also a full dining room. Come here with a date, and share some Slovenian orange wine and housemade pasta, like perfectly cooked corzetti with ricotta and spicy ’nduja." - Matt Tervooren

Google
5 stars all around for this restaurant! The ambiance and decor are very modern but welcoming. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, engaging and personable, but not overbearing. The food was out of this world. We will definitely be back.

Some of the best food in town! I'm not a wine drinker but the cocktail menu was great. Atmosphere and staff A+

Kindred is just an exceptional experience in Saratoga. Our first visit tonight coincided with Chef @chefparmesano - the winner of today's Chili cook-off @Saratoga City Center in conjunction with Saratoga Arts Guild event fundraiser. The wine menu is extensive and rotating - specialty international wines - not just your typical NY selections. Menu features snacks and small plates as well as entree specials. This has a downstate feel like Beacon or Brooklyn NY - and tonight's Moroccan Chicken was on par with what we have experienced downstate. Added bonus: Sunday brunch! We will be back! This will become a new favorite for guests and corporate visitors. And we now want the chili that sold out at lunch!

Kindred of Saratoga! What-a-place!!! Food is out of this world, the staff were absolutely amazing and the vibes as soon as you walk in are mid century. The art deco feeling hits you as soon as you walk in. Very new age atmosphere. Most definitely going back.

Definitely one of my favorite newer additions to Saratoga, even though they’ve been here for a little while now. The atmosphere is always great. The staff is always great, and the food is great. I love to just go and sit at the bar have some wine and some of their delicious food with friends. Really can’t go wrong with any of the flatbreads and they always have a really good special as well.Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Saratoga Springs.

Chef Palmesano has crafted very tasty, top notch food items. Sharing plates as well as dinners, and great flat breads. Great wine specializing with natural wines by the bottle and glass. Very nice cocktail list. A handful of beers even though Henry Street Taproom next door the sister restaurant specializes in craft beer. Really nice happy hour specials. We have known the owners Ryan and Sonja for a very long time and their main goal always has been quality, great staff, and to have everyone who stops in have a cozy, fun experience. Highly recommend Kindred and Henry Street Taproom!

Google
Kindred and The Market Bar and Cafe are hands down the best restaurants in Saratoga Springs. Seneca and Hamlet and Ghost are close but Kindred has consistently better food. We’ve been in several times and almost everything we’ve ordered has been excellent (Brussel sprouts, flatbreads, bib salad, specials, etc.) The cocktails are also delicious and they have a great wine selection. We usually pull up to the bar, which has fantastic seats, but the entire restaurant is well designed - modern but very cozy. Something that is often overlooked in many restaurants is the music and I’d wager Kindred has the best playlist around. We find ourselves opening “Shazam” often to find out what’s playing. Our only hope is that they will one day add oysters to the menu but we also really like Kindreds sister restaurant Henry Street Taproom…which does have oysters so we just trade off between the two!

My wife and I met two other couples here for a small birthday dinner and it couldn’t have gone better. The food and drinks were excellent but the best part was the service. With this being our first time at Kindred, our server Leah offered her opinion on drink and food favorites that all meshed well with our group. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Look at these drink prices! Thanks for supporting the saratoga bike club event! App and entree prices very affordable from our Fairfax county CT, point of view We got to eat outside and the selection of tables and big comfy chairs to the side of Kindred are fun and hard to choose. Prices are very nice and we all enjoyed sharing all the apps we ordered. Was plenty of food for most and this turned out to be dinner at least for the women at the table. 2 of the guys would eat a bit more at the next stop but not much more. The event was hosted by the saratoga springs bike club, we rode 35miles on Friday, 55 on Saturday and 35 on Sunday. Beautiful country in the fall and the local restaurants gave us drink discounts

Yelp
Experienced nostalgia of the good old Merry Monk days. We started with a bottle of at the bar. The host informed us that our table was still being used by the previous res so we just relaxed and ordered a bottle at the bar. I really admired the various offerings and settled on a bottle of Milan Nestarec. It was lovely and full of stone fruit notes. Our dinner entrees were equally amazing , Steak and mushroom glace and a pea asparagus Taglietelle. The server provided Great convo and menu without being over bearing. 5 stars.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised with terrific food and great service at peak time on a holiday weekend. We loved sitting near the open kitchen with 2 wood burning ovens. We each had a glass of Txakoli to start which was lovely. For appetizers we had the spiced cream and prosciutto flatbread and the Bibb salad. Both were delicious and a generous portion so easily shareable. We split the strip steak and wood-fired asparagus for our main meal which was more than enough to share and very tasty. I love a place that isn't afraid to properly salt the food. All and all we had a wonderful meal and experience. Often Memorial weekend can be a bit of a mess with staff getting up to speed for the season but Kindred really demonstrated that they are professionals in every way.

Yelp
This place is a serious gem. We got our first taste during Saratoga Spring's annual Chowderfest, and - although they served a vegan chowder - I can say, without hesitation that it was the best one of the day. It is so good, that I am desperate for them to add it to their winter menu. We went back around the 4th of July, and again, we had a great experience. We tried their brisket sandwich and their Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were phenomenal. All the accoutrements made it the perfect snack. The brisket was really good - a little tough, but really good. We went back for dinner last night. I had the spring ravioli with corn ricotta filling, and it was absolutely stellar. It was perfect, well-rounded, flavorful, and I didn't feel full and disgusting after - just perfectly satiated. My husband had the classic flatbread, and honestly, I have to say it wasn't that great. When they say "flatbread", they mean it. It is a thinner-than-a-cracker- crust - which is fine if you'er not very hungry. Just don't think you're going to leave with a full belly if you just eat this. The elements on the flatbread were fine. The sauce is ok, and they used mozzarella, but given how limited this dish is, it could use an extra, more flavorful cheese (maybe parmesan, or provolone). I don't mind the thin crust, but it's not what you would expect. I would prefer something a little better executed. The ambiance is beautiful, cozy and hip. The music is great, and the staff has always been friendly. I love this restaurant, and I hope they stick around.

Yelp
Disappointed based on what we had hoped for. This is a review from a couple months ago. Went on the Thursday of Travers at around 4. There weren't many people in the restaurant, but were made to feel like we couldn't be seated because we had a 3 year old. Knew it wasn't a spot for a kid, but had thought it might be more accepting of a well behaved child on a Thursday. Food was great, but service made us not want to order more.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious! The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to wine & cocktails. My favorite food is the Brussels sprouts, they are so flavorful & cooked perfectly. Perfect spot for date night.

Yelp
There is SO much to like about this new spot. The interior is beautiful with nice, varied seating options. I cannot leave a review without mentioning the bar. It's nice and wide, so really comfortable to eat at, with the most comfortable bar seats I've ever experienced. If I was a local, I would make it my go-to bar just for the seats alone! Next up, drinks. As a wine bar, it naturally has a great selection of wines. I recommend talking to your server for direction as everybody is really knowledgeable about the wine list. And if you are not a wine person, they've got a great cocktail selection as well (and I am picky when it comes to cocktails). Finally, the food. The menu has a lot to choose from and is ever changing, a feature I really like because keeping up with the season changes is important. The flatbread with the spiced creme is killer and the pork schnitzel was somehow way better than anticipated. This place has a lot to offer and can fit different plans, from girl dinner to date night. It's definitely good for both and you should for sure try it. Bonus points for really nice bathrooms with fun wallpaper.

Yelp
There was 6 of us and wewent to this place for drinks. The interior was so beautiful and the hostess was nice and friendly. Can't stop thinking about that affogato I had. Have to go back again just for that.

Yelp
The asparagus was delicious, the steak had a lovely crust and the sauce soubise was superlative. Wine selection was varied and well chosen.

Yelp
Love Kindred! The atmosphere is well designed and cozy, the food is delicious with easy plates to share plus a selection of entrees and the cocktails are beautiful. A great wine list too! I've been twice and the servers have been a nice combo of friendly and laidback and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Huge wine/spirt selection and the food was stellar! Our friends have been trying to get us to try Kindred for a few months and we finally made it happen. The atmosphere is modern and beautiful, out waitstaff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was the real star. We had two veg shareables, the brussel sprouts were the best we have all ever had. My steak was amazing, fingerling potatoes and mushrooms made a great meal. We are already planning another visit. Highly recommend to check out.

Yelp
Went for a drink Sunday evening, around 7:30 pm. Went out of our way to support this new business on Henry Street. There were some diners, some occupied tables inside & out. Definitely not too busy but not too quiet. The hostess seated us, outdoors as requested. We were excited to try this new place! We were given menus and then completely. Forgotten. No staff ever returned to our table. No drink or food order was taken. Huh. So we decided to walk. No one said a peep. We took our wallets up to Broadway, reliable Broadway where we found a cute outdoor table @ Wheatfields with friendly, energetic staff who not only took or order, but followed up so we ordered a 2nd round. This is what it takes to succeed in the restaurant business. Service.

Yelp
Best flatbread I've ever had!! Everything Chef Andy had coming out of the open fire oven looked amazing! Cocktails were top notch! Great atmosphere with an elegant vibe.

Deb H.

Yelp
Food was excellent, however the service was very slow. Love the atmosphere but the background music was very loud. It was difficult to hear dinner companion.

Meaghan K.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was prompt and attentive. Nice ambiance for date night. Tables a little close together, but nothing to keep me away. Brussels sprouts were the best I've ever had!

Maria K.

Yelp
Leaving a review because this restaurant deserves a higher rating! Romantic ambiance, superb wine, delicious cocktails and finally great food! The octo and the crem brûlée really hit the spot.

Roxanne D.

Yelp
No ambiance.. Good food. Good staff. The Buratta salad, the flatbread, and the steak dish are great.
