3 Meat Combo with 2 sides, cant believe it all fit in one little container
Brisket was really tough against the fork, could barely get the fork through. Moist looking. Mud like rub. Easier to bite into than I thought it would. Tastes a lot better than it looks. Nothing that powerful of a taste. It's on the drier style of Brisket that I don't really like, but the flavor was leaning more on the smoke side and it helped a bit. Other pieces were falling apart a bit more. The fat didn't melt as good as some other places and not a lot of flavor in it at all. The Rub is definitely the type of rub for Brisket, not sweet or spicy just savory smokey.
Fried Chicken they told me I had to wait for 30 minutes. They opened maybe 30 minutes before I places my order and maybe that's just how fast they sell this chicken? They turned on the fryer when they opened the door? They were running behind? Is it cooked to order? I don't know but Wow it was good. Super tender and juicy and the fried mix was perfect crisp and taste. Some of the best I've ever had.
Ribs was looking perfect! Size was that perfect typical 1" by 1/2" not much of an arch in the bone. The rub was on the red side and leaving a nice smoke ring and definitely made for Ribs, I've had spicy rubs and sweet rubs on ribs that I absolutely LOVE but this stuff was a perfect balance of Savory and Smokey and it compliments the meat like crazy! Is it the type of Rib Rub I would eat all the time? I'm not sure, I know it Should be but sometimes that delicious sweet rub is crazy good. But a damn near Perfect Rib
Mac and Cheese is very much the grocery hot bar style mac and cheese. Although I will say if you did some kind of blind taste test between different hot bar mac and cheeses, I'm confident people will choose this one as the best. Some sort a tiny little zing to it that is probably overlooked like crazy.
Beans looked like regular pinto or red beans in a brown sauce. Digging into it I found meat and maybe a sliver or two of some onion. The last like 4 BBQ places I've been to I've tasted the onion or veggies in the Baked Beans much more than I ever had before and this is no exception. The onions are almost equally as powerful and work well with the beans. I don't know what's going on though, Are Onion's more powerful in the winter or something?
Cornbread, thin piece, didn't look like anything special, wasn't.
Candied or Sweet Yams, We don't get many places doing yams up here but my GOD they are good! If you've never had, it's pretty much sweet potato
They had 4 sauce options ... well let me clarify what was communicated. Sauces were not up on the board or in the menu so I asked what kind of sauces they had. They named 4 sauces but I could only distinguish 2 that were right there so I chose the "Mustard" and the "Sweet". One of the other sauces they said was "Garlic" and in my head I was thinking it must be like minced garlic to sprinkle on like grated cheese or like that disgusting Garlic butter sauce from Papa John's. And I couldn't make out what the 4th one was but I was also thinking it wasn't actually a sauce. I had a feeling the sauce wasn't going to rock my world anyway so I just took the 2 and went on my way. And yup, The "Mustard" is a gold sauce thick and slow, and the Sweet is a thicker ketchup like sauce very sweet, typical sauces nothing wrong just ... whatever, none of the stuff needed sauce anyway.
All in all them RIBS were definitely Award Winning! Chicken is Award Winning! Brisket and the sides could use some work. And that sauce tastes like it's from the store. But still it's all good enough for me to give a solid 4 stars.
