"Opening alongside Red Salt Room as part of David Burke's overhaul of the Garden City Hotel's food operations, King Bar by David Burke will carry Burke's imprint—his name on the concept and the promise of signature items like clothesline bacon." - Stefanie Tuder

While visiting the area, I was recommended this charming bar inside the beautiful Garden City Hotel and what a treat it was! The super-friendly bartender Kevin made the evening extra fun, and a few staff even stopped by to say hello. I indulged in a delicious custom mezcal cocktail, paired with fresh oysters and refreshing champagne. I even missed my train back to Manhattan, but I didn’t mind one bit, I just wanted to savor everything this place had to offer. The freshly baked bread with premium olive oil was simply divine. A lovely spot in the picturesque town of Garden City. Highly recommended!

King Bar at Garden City Hotel - A Delightful Dining Experience My friend and I recently had a lovely dinner at King Bar, a charming spot located inside the Garden City Hotel. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening. We started with the octopus, which was perfectly cooked—tender and flavorful. However, the highlight of the night was the risotto. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor, it quickly became my favorite dish. Both were absolute standouts and highly recommended. Overall, the service was attentive, and the meal was excellent. We will definitely be back soon!

Food is very tasty. Perfect seasoning and decent portion size. Service was slow and we didn't get checked in on. Food was not hot but we had a large table being served. Restaurant was very empty at the time and waitstaff was busy preparing for dinner.

We had a delightful dining experience, it was beautiful. We had an amazing server, her name is Venus, she was very kind, sweet and pleasant, her personality is wonderful. I would give this place 10 stars but it only allows us to only give 5, Highly recommended

We have eaten a handful of times at the King Bar within the Garden City Hotel, mainly for brunch or lunch. This is more of the laid-back dining option within the hotel. The Red Salt Room, which is attached to this establishment, is the more formal option. Both places are great and highly recommended! The King Bar is also a nice place to grab a sophisticated drink in the area.

King Bar is one of our favorite cocktail bars on Long Island! With lots is dark wood and mood lighting, it's a classy place. The cocktails are inventive and excellent. We stop in whenever we get a chance.

Google
Stayed in the hotel midweek on a business trip. Shaquille and Sharon at the bar made me feel very welcome! Check out the pics of Shaquille's amazing cocktails, highly recommend! Key lime martini, espresso martini, and their honeymoon hibiscus martini are all winners.

Google
Our last experience at the Red Salt Room was great however our experience this past weekend at King Bar was not great at all. The bar couldn't get drinks out to our table in a reasonable time. Our appetizers were served before our first drinks were. Our main entrees and steaks were cold. And the food was just ok. Oh and how about having to wait for forks and knives while our food got even colder sitting on the table. Definitely not worth it this time around. Lots of other great restaurants in the area.

Yelp
The bartender was friendly and the drinks were good. Sam makes a mean whisky sour. The room is spacious yet warm. A nice spot to have a drink or a quick bite.

Yelp
I have been here several times and normally I only come for one dish...The Clothesline Bacon! . This time I decide to treat myself to the mini crab cakes and the shrimp tempura and I wasn't disappointed. My budget was tight so I county get the steak I wanted but this made up for it. The staff is amazing and the decor is wonderful. Well worth it let me save and try the ribeye next time.

Yelp
This bar was amazing. Very welcoming. Diverse. Wonderful tastings. I highly recommend this bar for a drink or for lunch. The place is very well maintained and upscale. The bathrooms are clean. The food and drinks are tasty. I am looking forward to my next dinner here.

Yelp
Comforting ambiance and attentive service helped deliver a satisfying dining experience. The close line bacon and bacon infused old fashion stood out whereas overall main courses were good but not great. I would certainly not hesitate to revisit for a drink and app for a very chill experience.

Yelp
I loved my experience with this restaurant & the bar. I was a guest at the Garden City Hotel for five days. I had the opportunity to frequent the place at different times of the day and each time, I was met with professional, courteous and attentive service. My food was delicious ~ very obvious it was made with fresh ingredients. The bar was pretty full on a Friday evening, so my companion and I squeezed in for a little while until it cleared out a bit. We shared a quick bite and everything left to enjoy a night out. Overall, the lunch, dinner, cocktail and brunch options will certainly appeal to anyone wanting to experience a pleasant place to gather. See you this spring!

Yelp
Dropped by on a whim as I was in the area and looking for a place with good food and great ambiance. Found exactly both of those things here at King Bar. Located inside the Garden City Hotel, the restaurant is subtle, dark, and comfortably furnished. Perfect for a date night, but casual and easygoing. The staff here is great. I was waited on Venus, who did a wonderful job with her friendliness and attention to detail. It felt like whenever anything was needed, she had already noticed and prepared for the situation. Patrick complemented her work wonderfully, providing a great reprieve between courses and drinks. I had ordered both the octopus and lamp chops and both dishes were cooked perfectly to my liking. Drinks were delicious and had healthy pours. Definitely felt like I was getting my money's worth here. Wish I had space for dessert, but all in all, it was a great night and experience here at King Bar.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely amazing. Well worth it, and we would come back again to the hotel just to dine in this restaurant. Great ambiance, service, and food. We are really happy we came here. Our server Teddy made our day special, he was attentive and so kind. Thank you Teddy!

Yelp
We did not eat at the king bar but it is a great place to hang out and have a drink The bartenders are fantastic and fun to talk to in addition the place is beautiful

Yelp
My wife and I went to dinner tonight at the Garden City Hotel. We got there early to watch some of the baseball game and sat at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. I had their specialty cocktail the Burke Old Fashion and my wife had a mocktail. They both were delicious. We ordered the oysters as we watched the game. They were excellent. If we didn't have reservations at the Red Salt Room, we would've hung out there. After dinner we went back and sat in the couch area. We relaxed with a cordial and a cappuccino. Really was a great night!

Yelp
the food was beyond amazing 10 stars we were treated like royalty from the moment we entered until the minute we left our server Venus was a sweetheart and the staff was certainly excellent The manager Micheal was a prince ,making sure our experience was a night to remember I believe i found my new favorite place to dine . the room decor was rustic yet elegant

Yelp
We were a party of eight. Reserved in advance and held with a $400 prepaid deposit. It was really loud in there making it hard to hear even the person next to you and enhanced by the volume of the music. The bar was slow but the drinks were great with nice substantial pours. The food was good. It was very rich. I ordered a side with mine but the waiter apparently missed it and that was OK because I couldn't have eaten it anyway. I couldn't finish my entree. One dessert for the whole table was not wholly consumed. I'm sure it was a privilege to eat off a celebrity chef David Burke menu but too rich for my liking. To be fair, my one companion who can't eat dairy was thrilled with the sesame crusted seared Ahi tuna.

Yelp
Our man Kevin was astonishing! He reminded us of a cool James Bond who made absolutely amazing drinks! He was also so personable and really made our time here enjoyable. Will be coming back.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our drinks and the Burke's Clothesline Bacon with maple black pepper glaze along with pickles and a wedge of lemon. The waiter who provided us with that dish and torched the bacon gave us great advice! He said to eat the bacon with the pickle and then try it with a squeeze of lemon. It gave it a completely different taste and it was delicious! Thanks for the tip. Normally we would have just ignored the pickles and lemon. Our entrees were okay. The Cacio e Pepe was not Cacio e Pepe. You barely tasted the cheese. It was more like fettuccine alfredo. The dish also lacked salt and flavor. The only part that we liked was the scallops and shrimp that came with it. Definitely not worth $48! The filet mignon was okay. The truffle polenta was pretty good. Just not worth $14. It was such a small portion. Dessert: It was pretty good. We had the s'mores pot de crème Unfortunately, we weren't able to have coffee because they stopped serving it! We've never experienced that before at any restaurant. Very disappointing!

Yelp
The food and cocktails are absolutely delicious here. Service was quick and kind as well. The restaurant is very clean and has beautiful decor.

Yelp
Was there recently with friends and had drinks and appetizers at the bar. Food and drinks were fantastic as were the bartenders. The mezcal old fashioned was excellent. It was recommended by Patrick, the bar manager, who looked after us all night. He was terrific.

Yelp
Went in today for shareables and drinks and can say I was very unimpressed. To start our first round of drinks took 20 minutes to come out and when they did one of our patrons didnt even get their order and had to talk to the manager to make sure it came out. They apologized for the wait but then for our second round it took another 15 minutes. I understand we were a party of 7 but it still seems a little unreasonable to wait that long. To top it off both rounds of martinis I ordered had a layer of oil on them from what I assume the olives were being stored in and it was quite unappealing. I have never seen oil in a martini like that at any spot. The food that came out was actually very good. The only issue was that for the bacon we ordered it required a someone to light it with a torch to heat it up. Given we were such a large party the staff had to reach over someone with a torch to light it which seemed pretty unsafe. When we were finally done it took another 10 or so minutes for someone to collect the check. We had to flag someone down to take it. For the price that we were paying and how the hotel showcases all their awards, I was pretty unimpressed with the quality of service that was provided. I will definitely try other spots in Garden City before coming back here again

Yelp
The night after Christmas, my wife and I made reservations for 7 PM to enjoy a truly fantastic meal. We had just dropped our daughter to spend some time with her grandparents so we were really looking forward to an adult conversation filled meal. Arriving a few minutes before our ressie, we were still seated promptly and service came immediately after. My wife had a honey lavender cocktail and enjoyed it immensely enough to order a second just to make sure. Other things we ordered and enjoyed were: Fresh raw oysters - they offer undressed or dressed. Intrigued, we opted for 6 undressed and two of the dressed to satisfy our curiosity. At least for our part, we concluded that for us, those who really enjoy the different tastes of oysters from different areas, we preferred the undressed over the dressed. Whatever they used to "dress" them we felt took away from the taste. If you're not sure, try some of each and you'll decide for yourself. Dumplings from braised rib and also lobster. Very flavorful for each, but definitely liked the lobster the best. If you've been to any of the Burke restaurants, you'll be sure to have seen their famous "clothesline" bacon. Very thick and candied, it's been a favorite for quite some time and we can't seem to escape ordering it. It is actually served with tongs and scissors to nip off small portions to nosh on. The crab cake, though on the smaller side, was also filled with almost all meat and was over the top good. Seems to me that four of them over buttered linguini would be an awesome meal in itself. The bread service comes with some awesome salted butter and another delicious spread that I'm not sure of the ingredients. Wagyu burger- while my wife had petered out and didn't want any more of the delightful food, I added the burger late on in the meal. Cooked perfectly medium rare the way I had asked, our server also took it upon himself to have it cut into two and served with fries on two plates so my lovely date didn't have to be sans meal while i was still eating. An awesome gesture even though I wound up eating most all of it by myself. The service here is really above board and from the timely and friendly visits to check on us and the hostess offering to take our coats and hang them, you can really appreciate the attention to detail you get when you dine with them. Valet parking is available and I'm sure that the guests of the Garden City Hotel appreciate having such a great restaurant without having to leave the premises. Truly a fantastic meal.

Yelp
Nestled in the Beautiful Garden City Hotel is the King Bar by David Burke. It's Long Island Restaurant week and we came early to have a cocktail. It's also Election Day and all of the politicians are waiting for their results so the place is jumping. We were able to shimmy up to the bar and grab seats. This is a very nice looking bar with high end choices. I'm also here because this place came in 2nd place for the Best Cocktail on Yelp. I am so ready to indulge in their well crafted cocktails. We see on the menu the Maple Old Fashioned. Sound perfect, so we place our order. The cocktails come to us with a side of bacon. Then, THEY LIGHT THE BACON ON FIRE! Smokey bacon adds another depth to the drink, it's highly recommend and I can see why their crafted cocktails scored highly. I start talking to the bartender about the various Whistle Pig bottles. I ask how much for a Boss Hog neat? I think he said $125, yeah I'm good. I ordered another drink called: Penicillin. Oh boyee... just what the doctor ordered. This was another fantastic cocktail. Overall, this is a nice place to grab a drink and eat something small. If you're looking to have a full meal, the restaurant is a few steps away. Mr Burke and team, this was a great experience and I wish you well in your endeavors. PS- I remember having a pistachio pate in SOHO, that should really be served at King Bar. It was unforgettable!

Yelp
nice place to meet for drinks, beautiful bar, delicious items on the menu! A bit pricey, but worth meeting for an evening of drinks, small bites, and very elegant surroundings with friends. I would recommend the king bar and the king restaurant, especially if you were staying at the hotel.

Yelp
Almost 10 days I made a second visit to King's Bar. The bar is popping especially after a big event such as the USO and Rose Soiree. The first time I visited King's Bar, the bar was dead because it was raining out and a lot of people who RSVP didn't attend the event. The overall service was good. The lamb ribs were really good and the oatmeal cookie ice cream sandwich were perfect especially with bourbon infused in the ice cream filling. Hopefully this ice cream sandwich will appear in the fall menu. Second time around I visited King's Bar after the Rose Soiree and I ordered a white sangria. The bar was crowded and service was busy but the staff were attentive and ensured that we were accommodated. It took a while for the white sangria to show up but once I drank it it was so good. I highly recommend this drink. I definitively will return to King's Bar dinner and drinks.

Yelp
From poor service to cold food the experience was horrible. Waited for 20 minutes to give a drink order. Another 10 mini s to get the drinks after the waiter told me they were backed up. A different waiter asked me if we ordered our food yet. When I said no he asked me who my waiter was. When I told him that I didn't see him he then took my order. 10 minutes later my waiter came back to take my food order.broke him we gave it to another waiter. Over one hour in we got our appetizers which were ok. 20 minutes after our appetizers were done our dinner came out. A super dry pork chop and a steak with ice cold potatoes. We sent the pork chop back and asked for a burger to go and the check. Spend your time and money elsewhere!

Yelp
I am glad to report that King bar has stepped up its game. Last time I was there left much to be desired. Tonight the Rose room had a long wait so we decided to give this place another try. First of all I saw a change in the menu. The new menu is like a mix of King bar and the old Polo bar. More tasty choices that are fresh and well executed. We had the Cesar salad- it was big enough to share. The burger was delicious and we had another sandwich which I don't remember the name. There are more items I'd like to try next time. We had a variety of drinks including daiquiris, french 75 and old fashions. I was confident that the drinks would come out great since I saw John behind the bar. Needless to say everything was well made. Now I can't wait to be back.

Yelp
I really enjoyed our brunch. I had the eggs benedict and my daughter had croque madam. We started our meal with a delicious Clothesline of bacon which was so unusual. The waitress torched-it and served it for us. The noise level was a bit high but it wasn't really a problem. The place is very clean and everyone is so polite.

Yelp
Pretentious, over priced, poor service, inedible food. Worst experience in recent memory. Started with a featured cocktail that is supposed to be made with "pressed mint and cucumber" - showed up with a thick slice of cucumber garnish, no mint in sight. I am accustomed to muddled garnish where you've got thin cucumber slices and bits of mint throughout the drink. Our waitress said she 'guessed he's out of mint.' I told her to let 'him' know I was unhappy with the drink not being as described. She came back, I said what did the bartender say- she replied 'I don't remember, but I told him. I also told Tony the manager.' I suggested maybe Tony wanted to respond to me? She left and a little while later comes Tony, with somewhat of an attitude. I wouldn't go as far as calling it hostile but I would call it adversarial. And this was the tone of the whole sorry experience. We ordered a 'shareable' - surf and turf dumplings, $25. This was comprised of four tiny bites. Two surf, two turf. They were very attractive but it was ridiculously small. We are not ones to complain on price but this was ridiculous. You can see the pictures so don't say I didn't warn you. Next up was a filet Mignon ordered rare, arrived medium and very dried out. They advertised 'Cauliflower and Yam Gnocchi" which I ordered. I have had Cauliflower gnocchi before so was looking forward to this. The dish is actually just roasted (undercooked) Cauliflower with three little pillows of yam. When the waitress finally reappeared after we had put our forks down in disgust, I told her I was expecting Cauliflower gnocchi. She informed I got what I ordered, 'Yam Gnocchi AND Cauliflower." Well, what a difference word order makes! My husband got the lobster Cobb salad and told me the lobster tail was mushy. Gak! We let it be known we were unhappy. We left 80% of the food on the plates. The manager was informed. He tried to argue with me over the definition of rare. They took nothing off the bill to compensate us, thereby losing customers forever. Something else weird and aggravating- the bar does not have cocktail straws. Say WHAT? Needless to say, this hotel bar is not recommended. Just pass on by as there are plenty of upscale options very close by, with quality food and good customer service to go along with their elegant decor.

Yelp
Bartenders are the best here. Beautifully crafted cocktails. You cannot just have one. The Pow Pow Margarita and Spiced Pear Martini are amazing! Brian and John are super knowledgeable and they can make anything you like or come up with something specifically for you. True mixologists with great personalities! The ambiance is busy but not overly noisy with just the right volume of music where you can enjoy and still have a conversation. A nice looking room in the beautiful hotel. I recommend ordering some of the shareable plates! The short rib buns and ocean plate are delicious. The cheese & charcuterie is one of the best if you love good quality specialty cheeses. Will be back soon!

Yelp
Great bar when they have Matt the piano player there. He brings such a perfect touch to the atmosphere. Worth the extra dollars for some drinks that may be cheaper elsewhere. They also have a nice bar menu of food for the hungry.

Yelp
The appealing ambience and decor is what lured me to this place within the hotel. But what a disappointment. The food was the worst. The cheeseboard was low grade cheese, smelly meats, and stale crackers. Which did not come with any dipping sauce, like mustard or fig jam, nor come with any nuts or fruit. The kebab taste mealy and old - no sauce. The bartender was nice enough to direct us to the sitting areas because the bar is having a problem with fruit flies. Looks can be deceiving. We will not be back.

Yelp
First time coming here tonight. Edward was our waiter, he was attentive and very friendly. Kudos to Edward! He helped us decide what to order. We had drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were very tasty and strong. We had the bacon clothing line appetizer. Not only was it delicious but the presentation was phenomenal! They used a torch to make the bacon crispy while each piece was hung by clothing pins. The ambiance was romantic and a very traditional setting. I highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
Very relaxing, a little on the high end but perfect when you want to relax with a nice cocktail and a little better bar food!

Yelp
Stay away!! I usually refrain from writing negative reviews and this can be seen from my other reviews which have already been seen by well over a million people on Google . But I felt obligated to write something. We had a dinner with 10 friends at this place. When I saw 3.4 stars and 100+ sign it didn't make any sense. But I didn't make the decision to go there as I was just invited by a good friend to celebrate a good cause. I ordered a tomahawk to share with my partner. The quality of the piece was really bad. It was mostly fat very little actual red meat. But after eating some of the pre sliced pieces I wanted to remove some more meat from the long bone. And to my surprise it was literally smelling rotten. I couldn't complain as I didn't want to disappoint my friend but I went home and threw up 3-4 times and followed by diarrhea the next day. My partner experienced the same thing. The worst thing is I drive more than 3 hours to get there from upstate NY. Why would you feed something like that to your customer? Would you eat it yourself or feed it to your family member? Some of the other friends were also disappointed with the food. One returned it back as it was too cold. Service was patchy. You had to beg someone that will bring you water. I ended up walking to the bar from our table to get a glass of water. Overall pretty poor experience for me. I still would not have written a review, but having a food poisoning and as a medical doctor I can not knowingly just ignore it and let it happen to someone else too. So I would not go back.

Yelp
Hardly "elegant." It's a coffee shop with easy chars. But too-low easy chairs are hardly comfortable at a small upright too high for the easy chairs table. Potatoes were " roasted" not what one would expect at breakfast. Omelet was pretty good, toast was underdone. Price was hotel typical, double what a decent neighborhood coffee shop would charge. The real offense was a menu listing of "fresh-squeezed orange juice" which I love. What're was served was not quite Tropicana quality. When I pointed this out to the server,he said it was squeezed "first thing this morning." Is is now about 10:30. OJ is only really fresh fo about an hour after squeezing. Medal thinking is that OJ should still be inside the orange at the moment I order it. Top end hotels manage to accomplish this.

Yelp
I've been coming to the King Bar seasonally to see what fun changes to the menu they have made. We decided to eat at the bar since it was A Friday night and the spirit was in the air! They have a new shareable menu which had so many inviting choices it was hard to decide. We went with the famous David Burke Surf and Turf dumplings, mini ham and cheese sandwiches on French baguettes and a meatball flatbread ultra thin crust pizza with the freshest ricotta ever! All were exceptionally flavorful with a fancy presentation making these simple fan faves extraordinary! The atmosphere is always great as it is never too noisy and it seems there is always a fun/friendly crowd. The bar stools were actually very comfy and the service was 5 star. They never missed a beat or left a glass anywhere near empty which I truly appreciate and look for in fine service! This hot spot is not to be missed and will remain on our top 10 list, thanks to its amazing selections and outstanding service! In fact I am planning on surprising my wife on our next anniversary with a room to stay in at The Garden City Hotel that it resides within; just after we order our desserts to really shock her. That way we can make it a later night and visit the secretive Rose Room underground lounge that was recently opened, enjoy!

Yelp
I mean this is the go to spot for the locals. Everyone is very friendly and very talkative. They have a salt room that is connected to this bar that is known for their food! Its a must visit if you are staying at the place. The only bad thing is the service is awful but they have free wifi in the bar/hotel.

Yelp
I came here for brunch on Mother's Day weekend. It was not crowded at all and all the seats were spaced apart near the bar area (not the back) with huge cushion seats. I got the burger with fries and it was piled high, filling and delicious. I also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and it was basically creamy Mac & cheese with 2 chunks of lobster on top... it was not mixed in, if hat's what you were looking for. I ordered a peach Bellini and it was sweet and deliciously made. My fam purchased the Korean bbq and eggs Benedict. If I were to come again, I would definitely try the Korean bbq ribs which looked absolutely amazing and creative (something you wouldn't expect to find in garden city). The ambiance was classy and quiet and I would definitely come again. I've always wanted to come here (within the garden city hotel) for a Mother's Day brunch and it was lovely and relaxing while also abiding by covid safe rules. Also, I have a thing for bathrooms at fancy places and I must say, the ladies bathroom here was very clean.

Yelp
I visited King Bar for the first time for brunch and was not disappointed. The service was great, relax atmosphere. I tried their lobster cobb salad and it was so delicious and fresh, plus beautiful presentation. Followed by the steak and eggs (yummy!) and sangria. For desert, I had the coconut mango cheesecake, the tropical flavors were a great ending.

Yelp
While I did appreciate the ambiance and decor, I'm sad to say that was pretty much the only positive thing about my experience at King Bar. We did get seated right away (after getting rejected from their affiliated patio bar for reasons I won't go into here), and the hostess was very nice but after that, the service went down tremendously. I'm not sure if it's growing pains as a new business or because our waitress was overwhelmed, but there were multiple instances that made me wonder how a David Burke establishment could be run as such. Our waitress was perfectly lovely when she was serving us, but she was very hard to get hold of and we spent much of our time wanting to order - both food and drinks - all throughout the night. There were also times where both servers and hostesses alike seemed to just be hanging out by the hostess desk while we were trying to get someone's - anyone's! - attention. At one point, M was like "let's just go somewhere else" which she never says as she's infinitely more patient than I. We decided to stay because I wanted to try a good variety of their cocktail list (all for this review, y'all!). Cocktails were subpar though. Too sweet and basic even though the descriptions make them sound like they'd be craft cocktails. There is a much better option for cocktails in the area, just 5 minutes away. Food wise, overall the flavors were good but the serving size was ridiculous for its price. I get that it's David Burke and it's in a hotel, but definitely not worth the price. The dumplings were the best thing we ordered and I would get them again (on someone else's dollar. HA.) The K-town wings and rings was the most bang for your buck in terms of price and portion, but the flavor was truly horrible. So salty, I found it to be inedible. It tastes just of soy sauce and gochujang; because of the marinade, more than half of the wings were burnt. M ended up packing it to go for her dogs. (She washed the sauce off first, don't worry, animal lovers.) The presentation was cool though. Perhaps I'd go back to sit at the bar for wine... but only if the person I was with really wanted to come (because there is an awesome wine bar merely 5 minutes away as well that I'd much rather go to.) I really like Chef David Burke's cuisine and have gone to several of his other establishments in the city, but King Bar definitely did not deliver.

Yelp
Tried booking yesterday at red salt for dinner but said it was full. So my daughter tries again 1.5 hours later asking if there was any cancellation or availability so they suggested the king bar; same menu next room. So we went. Place was classy and service was great Food was decent not jaw dropping but proportional to the price The place is a bit noisy but not annoying. You can hear each other talk. The other people talking was not an issue or distracting. Garden city hotel is the luxe place in Long Island so it still is and it felt 1st class. It was bought by new owners a few years ago and it's maintained well. Btw bathrooms were very clean and constantly maintained.

Yelp
I wanted to LOVE this spot so much, but alas, the entire experience was just kind of weird and underwhelming. Made reservations for Sat eve for a last minute date night with the hubs. Arrived a few minutes before our reservation and we were promptly seated. Sat for about 10 min before our waiter mosied on over. We then placed our drink order (I went with a fancy cocktail and my husband ordered a beer,) and then we waited...and waited...and waited. To the point that the hostess walked over and asked how were where doing. I kid you not, our drinks took 25 minutes. I know this because we were seated next to a lovely couple who was also out on a date, and had waited patiently for their cocktails for 27 min. COME ON-- that's just bonkers. Weirdly the bar wasn't even that busy. Anyway, during our dry cocktail hour, our waiter came over and took our order. We got the ocean plate and a few other items. Finally, my cocktail arrived, but my husband's beer was still MIA. I told the water guy that I'd be happy to go pick it up myself but he just shrugged and said, 'it always takes a while.' GREAT. When his bev was delivered, we said Cheers and took our respective sips. My cocktail was good (and strong!) so that made the wait a little more palatble. After about 15 min our waiter came back over to recap our order...that we originally placed 20 min ago. He obviously totally forgot to put in the order. Fine-- I get it, you're young and overwhelmed-- WRITE IT DOWN BRO. I switched to wine (seems like that shaves a solid 15 min off of delivery,) and my husband ordered another beer. 10 min later everything we ordered (all shareables) were placed on the table at the same time. We ordered: ocean plate, cheese plate and short rib buns, however, they delivered the short rib entree instead of the buns-- we told the food runner that we didn't ordered the entree and he told us not to worry about it. Anyway, the food was fine. The risotto underneath the meat was delish but the short rib itself was dry. The ocean platter was fine-- except for the oysters; they just tasted off, (my hub's said he tasted something that felt furry!) So no, we didn't finish them. Finally when the check came, we noticed that we were overcharged--- an extra martini (we never ordered) $15 for distilled water (we ordered tap) and $60 for the short rib entree (which we didn't order and the waiter told us not to worry about it.) I get an accidental upcharge, but that was close to $80! Once they removed the extra charges, we paid the bill and left. I feel like this place has potential but the lack of in-house attention to detail and execution leaves SO MUCH to be desired.

Yelp
Came into the King Bar to try the new Yelp cocktail classic winner for 2018, their red salt margarita. Sweet and spicy and so perfect during this heat wave. We decided to pick a few things off the menu instead of just one as there were so many yummy options to choose from. We ordered wagyu beef carpaccio that literally came out on a giant Himalayan salt brick. Excellent and so flavorful. The butter poached lobster Cobb salad was jam packed with color and was a good size to split. The Pastrami smoked salmon was light and the creamy dressing paired perfectly with the spices on the salmon. The ktown wings and rings were different and fun but packed with flavor with a unique presentation. The only thing better than the food was the attentive service and lively atmosphere. We are already planning our next trip to try the other menu items that were a hard pass.

Yelp
Came here for New Year's Eve and everything was great! Our bartender Matt went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The bar was crazy busy and he never missed a beat. Great food as well. The bacon on a clothesline and the doughnuts were some of my favorites. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went to meet some friends to try the new Speakeasy (Rose room) but decided to have a few drinks here first. King Bar was nice and comfortable and the leather chairs helped. Atmosphere was good and seemed to get better the later it got. Drinks prices were not too bad. Had my first "Whistle Pig" bourbon on the rocks and it may be my new "go to" drink. Overall nice place to go before going somewhere or a nice place to chill and just relax.

Yelp
Great bar. Already have come back twice. Red salt margarita and sangria were my favorites.

Yelp
Surprised to see the mixed reviews. Had an excellent dinner on Saturday with my wife, we had 7:30pm reservations and was seated immediately. Really nice atmosphere, all staff from the host to the valet couldn't be any nicer. The food was delicious, the bronzino was excellent and probably the best lobster bisque we ever had. After dinner we walked over to the patio bar which was really nice and once again the staff was really nice. We will defiantly return, recommend to all.

Yelp
This was one of the worst experiences in a restaurant that I have ever hard. 1. we ordered a Bellini and were told they ran out of peach nectar so they couldn't make one, this on a Saturday afternoon. We asked for something we usually get at lunch but we're told the chef refused to make it because he was too busy with an event somewhere else at the Garden City hotel ( Then close the restaurant for the day), we ordered our lunch and waited 25 minutes and still were not served. An order that may have been for us was delivered to a table that came in AFTER we had ordered. At that point we told our waiter whose mask was below his nose and on his 3rd day of waiting that we were leaving and we did in fact leave..Found a lovely restaurant on 7th street in Garden City where we were promptly served a fabulous lunch by a lovely waitress. The manager and chef should be fired.

Yelp
So what can I say about this place that hasn't been said already? What do we come to a bar in a luxury hotel for? Well, if your like me, you come first for the food, and second for the service. On both fronts, this place delivers. I went there on a Friday night, and ordered a 'safe bet', which is your standard cheese burger deluxe, a unanimously accepted easy dish to not mess up, but very difficult to make you fall in love over. I am a fickle and picky eater, in my past life I'm convinced I was a food critic in Paris who swore off talking to my relatives so I could focus exclusively on getting fat and romancing French cuisine across the Mother Land. Well this Cheese Burger had me at a loss for words akin to the French word for the 'feeling at the bottom of the stairs' (yes. It's a thing, look it up.) I was salivating at the presentation, wondering how they could possibly fit that mean Angus patty on that English Toast. They defied the laws of physics by folding the curvature of space-time itself while simultaneously increasing the curvature of my waist line--spooky. Now all puns aside, this hit the spot and collided with my taste buds in such a way that a week later and I can still taste it, how's that for quantum entanglement?

Yelp
Arrived at 11:30 PM. Hostess tells us it's a last call. We asked what time do you close. She said midnight. Nobody comes to take our drink order. One woman comes by and removes the lightbulb from our candle holder on the table. Does not take our drink order. Got up and walked out.
