King Buffet | Richardson, TX 🍣🥢 Listen, if you think buffets are all about chaos and sad food trays, think again. King Buffet is here to flip that script—clean, sharp, and seriously aesthetic, this place has it all and then some. From the moment you walk in, you know this isn’t your average buffet. The setup? Immaculate. The vibe? Modern but inviting. You actually want to snap a pic (yes, finally a buffet that gets the selfie memo). 🍣 Sushi & Seafood Fresh doesn’t even start to cover it. Rolls made with precision, seafood so good it practically sings “eat me.” The sushi station is a legit highlight and a game-changer for buffet lovers. 🥟 Dumpling Bar Okay, can we talk about the dumpling bar? I’m still jealous. Steaming baskets filled with all kinds of dumplings, each one more delicious than the last. It’s a dumpling lover’s dream come true and totally worth the visit on its own. 🥢 Hot Food & Variety From classic Chinese dishes to unexpected gems, the options are endless and well-executed. Crispy, flavorful, and not a soggy bite in sight. You can tell they care about quality and presentation. ✅ Pros: Clean and stylish space that makes buffet dining feel upscale. Sushi and seafood that rival standalone restaurants. Dumpling bar that’s straight-up drool-worthy. Huge variety with fresh, tasty options. Friendly staff who keep things running smooth. 🤷‍♀️ Cons: It’s so good, you might need a second stomach. (Not really a con.) Peak hours get busy—come hungry and maybe a little patient.

Wide variety of choices! Probably the best buffet I have had around the similar price range. I like the fresh fishes! And they provide lots of small crabs at night! Besides, there are dim sum on the side! Worth to try it!

I love this place…..there are several food options. Sea food here is amazing. Salmon fish and a variety of salad options. The food that are meant to be warm stay warm and fruits remain cold.

I have been to the KING BUFFET numerous times in the past several years. The staff has always been courteous, professional, efficient, focused, and friendly. They welcome every customer when they enter the restaurant. If you need assistance, or have any questions, Darren will help you. There is a large selection of different types of food to choose from. Near the entrance is the sushi bar, and the Mongolian grill. In different areas of the restaurant there are several varieties of chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables, soups, salads, rice, noodles, fruits, desserts, and even pizza. Everything is good. Several TV's are located in the dining areas. They also offer lunch & dinner specials for Seniors. I guarantee you won't be hungry when you leave this all-you-can-eat establishment. You'll be happy, and looking forward to your next visit. MAY 9, 2025 UPDATE: Everything was delicious again. Excellent customer service!

King Buffet in Plano is a great place if you love variety and all-you-can-eat options. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Asian dishes, including sushi, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food. The buffet is well-stocked, and the food is fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, making it perfect for groups or kids. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Overall, King Buffet is a good choice if you want to try different Asian cuisines in one meal.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over a decade in Plano. Imo, the best Chinese buffet around period! The food is great overall! Sushi and Mongolian grill is top notch! And this is important, they bring out plenty of items for all to get there fill. This place is always busy lunch n dinner. Place is clean and large. All the staff is friendly and look out for you. Darren, I believe, is one the the manager at front and he is always welcoming, remembers you, amd greets you promptly. Tried many other buffetts and no one comes close to King buffet!

Yelp
We went for lunch on Sunday and it was packed! We had to wait a little bit to get seated but it didn't feel like it was that long. Once we got seated, it was a breeze! They constantly filled the trays and I didn't see any empty trays while I was there. Food was good, typical buffet quality. I wish they had boiled crab legs instead of the fried ones. The fried crabs were okay, I didn't go back for more. Honestly, the best thing was the fresh baked bread that I got as soon as they brought it out.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Chinese buffet I have eaten at in the Dallas area. They have a large selection of food to choose from Including your typical Chinese buffet Foods, American foods, an awesome assortment of sushi and California rolls and they even have a Mongolian Grill / hibachi. On top of having really awesome food they are extremely clean in my opinion compared to other Chinese buffets even with being extremely busy they maintain standards. With great food comes along lines or at least on the weekends anyways, So be prepared to wait for a little bit to be seated or do what we do and go early to beat the dinner rush. *Poor *Decent *Ok *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Prices. Good Food. Great Service. Great Cleanliness. Great Consistency. Great Variety. Great Value. Great

Yelp
Overall, I think this is a pretty great buffet for the price. There's an expansive selection including all of your typical buffet selections as well as sushi, hibachi, and a dumpling bar! The staff are always attentive and nice as well. This is probably one of my favorite local buffets.

Yelp
This is my second time at King buffet and we had a really good experience . Buffets in my option can be hit or miss. Either the service is poor because of the heavy traffic , or the food isn't good or replenished in time . This was not the case however when we came here . Located off the service road in Plano, King Buffet made sure I ate like a king. Parking was spacious enough for the large crowd. We came during lunch which is the busiest time to come . People left and right and guarantee to be in a rush to get first dibs on some food. The way it works is you check in first at the front desk and they will either get you seated or have you take a number to be called when a table is available. Next the staff will seat you at a table , then it's off to the races. Such a wide variety of food, it's hard to miss out on anything you're craving . They have sushi , pizza , fried rice , wing, fried fish, desserts , and many more options. Everything was cooked fresh and the quality was also there too. Dining experience was satisfactory as they had they had the football game on . The waitresses made sure that our drinks were replenished and finished plates were taken away. They have soft drink and lemonade , plus plenty of condiments. Everything you could ask for in a buffet. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
It's a lot more expensive now and it isn't really as good but they don't have much competition anymore. As of summer 2025, the lunch buffet is $15 and the soda is $3. No crab legs of any kind, no fried shrimp, no ribs, and no crawfish are to be found--I assume some of them are on the dinner buffet only. There are many chicken dishes but the quality varies. I had at least one chunk so dry and old I couldn't swallow it. Most weren't that bad There's a section for dim sum with warnings to be careful because they are hot. But friends, they are not hot. In fact, they are at a level of warm that invites bacterial growth and I suspect may have caused some later discomfort. It could have also been the sushi selection which wasn't much (possibly reduced for lunch) and was mostly packed rice but it didn't really seem off. They do have good eggrolls and other fried food but they didn't have regular dumplings that used to be common to all buffets. Waiters refilled drinks at first then disappeared. They seem a bit territorial so someone refilling the person next to you will leave you to go without. I resent that you can't get your own drink in these places. We get robots everywhere we don't want them but we still have to tip at a buffet. Weird, huh? Desserts were ok. There's a moose in a tiny individual plastic container that's pretty good--grab two of them. There's a soft serve machine. I can't bring myself to trust a chocolate fountain. I don't think they have real banana pudding anymore which also used to be common on these buffets. I found myself missing a lot of things for the price. And if it's gonna be like that there's just not much advantage for me over getting superior quality takeout somewhere else. But if you have to have buffet and don't want Indian food or pizza, this is about all there is.

Yelp
They need to improve on cleaning, service, and quality of food. There was literally mold on my Jello and my plate was dirty. This place is horrible

Yelp
One of the better Chinese buffets in the Dallas area. The selection of crabs is pretty decent. You'll get your moneys worth is crab. The sushi is pretty disappointing. Wishing there was more pure sashimi instead of all the fish being added to rice. The hot food is your basic fare with nothing standing out. Not a terrible experience but definitely good price for the experience. Since it's very busy, the food is always fresh so you'll never have to worry about old food sitting out.

Yelp
King Buffet has expansive selection of offerings on the buffet: appetizers, entrees and desserts. We thought everything was pretty good and buffet is reasonably priced. Service was excellent.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
It wasn't too bad of a wait on a Saturday night for a party of 9 so I like that, lots of options but not a lot of vegan/vegetarian. Seafood was overcooked
google avatar

Doug C.

Yelp
Count on us and many others for Christmas lunch here again. We got seating for two right away while 2pm groups had to wait. Not that many tables for 6 or more. Great food and service as always. Staff very attentive to clear the used dishes to make room for more. Yummy. Be sure to look around for your favorites and a few new ones (hint: dessert). Plenty of parking in rear or east side of restaurant.

Yelp
We've dined here 3x now so I can leave an honest review. I found out about this buffet from a popular mukbang YouTuber. They have a location in Arlington as well. I've been to Great Wall in Plano a bunch of times and it's just not good lol. King blows Great Wall out of the water. They have a HUGE selection of food! It's your standard Chinese buffet but with so much more. The weekends are packed! We waited about 30-40 minutes on a Sunday evening. My personal favorite is the salt and pepper crab and shrimp. They constantly restock it unlike other buffets that let it disappear and you have to wait long for another tray to come out. They also have cold seafood, shrimp and mussels. There's a Mongolian noodle station, a variety of sushi, salad, fruit and a chocolate fondue fountain. The soups are just ok, they tasted oily and bland. The servers are constantly coming by to refill drinks and take away plates. It's 17 a person for dinner so it's a great deal for the family!

Yelp
When you grew up as a Vietnamese, you have probably been to every single Chinese buffet in town like I have. Out of all the Chinese buffets that I've eaten in Kansas and Dallas, King Buffet is probably the best one for the price, food options, and quality. Every time my parents visit, this is the first place that we would go together. My mom loves the seafood options here, aka the fried blue crabs, crawfish, baked fish, etc. I usually go for the nigiri, fries, crawfish, and corn/potatoes. All the dishes are very solid for buffet quality, and taste good as well. I like their crawfish boil a lot, and if you visit during the weekend, they will serve bigger crawfish compared to weekday dinners. The chocolate fountain and soft serve machine are also a great throwback to my childhood as well. The price is $16 per person for dinner, which is pretty good compared to other buffets in town. Don't come here if you're expecting high-quality food, because it's not going to do that. This is the place to go if there are multiple cravings, and you can't decide on where so the buffet is perfect for everyone. They don't charge for leftovers as well which is nice because I like to sample a little bit of this and that when I visit.

Yelp
We came on a Friday night, and there was a little bit of a wait, maybe 15-20 minutes but it went by quick! The restaurant was PACKED with lots of people at the buffet line. The food itself has always been good. It is definitely not super high quality but it satisfies the cravings for a chinese buffet. They have a great variety of foods including crawfish, crab, orange chicken, lo mein, shrimp, squid, sushi, dumplings, etc. They have gloves and hand sanitizer near the buffet for anyone who wants to use it. They also had lots of good fruit like watermelon out! We tried the stir fry station as well but it was pretty mediocre, lacking flavor. They still offer a senior discount (10% off) and senior hours on the weekdays! Overall, this is the place to go when you are craving a good chinese buffet!
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
The service is great and the dishes were delicious. We were there for the dinner. It consisted of seafood, brisket, dim sum, Mongolian beef, and desert. We were impressed by the selection and taste. Great value. Plenty of parking. Should be 4 and half stars
google avatar

Hoa L.

Yelp
Food is pretty average and so are prices. Come here for variety but you'll get the same basic buffet items and mediocre taste. The fried crabs tasted okay. The fried plantains were good as were the sesame balls. Service was acceptable and we had plates removed when needed. Tried the ice cream but it was lacking milk and tasted like mostly ice. There are not a lot of dessert options and perhaps I'm spoiled by the typical colored cakes I see common in most Chinese buffets.
google avatar

Nancy T.

Yelp
For a Buffett this place was great! The pricing for what is offered is fair. The food is good quality and they restock them very frequently. The waiter and waitresses also comes to the get the plate very frequently too. I have a very picky toddler, so I like how they have American food all on one side too. My family and I have came here multiple times and we enjoy it a lot. We bring family here too when they come into town to visit. Would definitely recommend the place.

Nick G.

Yelp
Amazing food and great service. The ambience was awesome while also a little crowded, they handled it nicely.

Yelp
Oh man I wanna love this place. But the fact is- this place is DIRTY. I saw some child take his bare hands and grab a piece of (maybe it was orange chicken?) ...sniff it, take a bite of it, make a face that he didn't like it, and PUT IT BACK IN THE FOOD TRAY It's constantly packed in there and no one watches their kids so they're just running around. There are ALOTA of choices. And it is cheap. And they keep the food coming out consistently. All the staff was nice and attentive. But I can't help but feel that everything I touched (utensils, plate, counters, tables etc..) was sticky. I felt grossed out that I ate something in there. Like I was gonna get gastrointestinal disease down the line.
google avatar

Rose Q.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was average though. Pretty much your run of the mill buffet. There was some food I didn't really like but my overall experience was pretty average. Not sure if I'll be coming back.

Yelp
King Buffet in Ardmore I was there I had hard. Piece of shells in my noodle and rice. It hard my mouth because they were hard and sharpe. I would like someone to contact be back please. Thank you at. lindaderaad58@gmail.com

Yelp
What in the Gary Busey is going on here? Took my two kids here last night and it was packed at 4:45pm. Like Jason Momoa in a medium Tshirt packed. You couldn't even stand inside. I won't gripe about the wait since it was a Saturday but I will say I don't get it. We waited about 25 min, which wasn't terrible, for buffets that were 17.99. Not worth it. We all spent the night in stomach pain thanks to bad seafood. We only went thinking for this price they'd have crab, but nope and maybe that's a good thing. All the seafood was fishy and even the fried stuff was iffy. Bill was 61 and change and I paid $80 and asked for change, which my waiter did NOT want to bring. Sorry, but I'm not tipping nearly $20 on a buffet, especially since we only did one trip and decided to leave. The table we were sat at was next to the bathroom and the AC was leaking from the ceiling into my oldest's food. We were claustrophobic and just left, chalking it up to a learning lesson. No more buffets like this.

Ai K.

Yelp
The food was subpar. Salmon sushi looked like it had been sitting there sometime. Crab cakes tasted undercooked. Everything tasted off. Hibachi grill cook had a very nasty attitude, informed the manager and he did absolutely nothing. Took half and hour to notify me that food was finished cooking on hibachi and it was cold so the cook was still playing games. Plenty of places to go eat, will not waste money on as this location is going downhill and management does not address the problems.

Aydin M.

Yelp
It's OK, but some people might get sick if they eat it's amazing. Please go eat it. Thank you. Everybody you guys are the best.

Diana L.

Yelp
Lots of choices. So many options. There were quite a few sushi options and dim sum too. Service was good and the kept the food restocked. The food was good for a buffet. The place is large and good for families.

Yelp
I hadn't been to King Buffet in many years, but since we had family in town and they wanted something easy and affordable, we ended up stopping by. Wait time on a Sunday night ended up being around 40 minutes; my aunt and uncle got there around 6 and our whole party of 10 was seated by 6:40. I can't say that I'd been craving the cheap Asian buffet experience, and after trying some of the food here it's easy to see why. Most of the cooked dishes were either overly sauced or overly salted, and the seafood options were actively bad. We didn't realize snow crab legs were only a Friday night (?) offering now, so that was a disappointment, but the fried seafood was heavily breaded and the crawfish had a mushy texture. I basically only had one plate of food and was done from the sodium bombs. It's honestly a talent to be able to overcook steamed fish, but King Buffet managed it. And I can't even think about the sushi section without sighing; I didn't bother trying any of the sad-looking raw fish nigiri or the rice-heavy rolls. The only saving grace of the one eel nigiri I tried was the sauce that came with it. The best part of my meal was the sugary fried dough that they have in the aisle with the rest of the fried foods, and the fruit bar. The chocolate fondue fountain is probably some sort of health code violation; we saw a bunch of kids sticking their hands into it. The soft serve was super icy that day too. I suppose the value is good if you're just looking to fill up, but it's shocking to me how packed and busy this place is all the time. Personally, I will not be returning in the future, even if family is involved :P

Laura H.

Yelp
Went with my family tonight to celebrate my dads 70th birthday I have an allergy so I'm usually very careful I choose to have them make no my food so that I would know there was nothing bad in it. Well I was wrong there was shrimp in my food that I didn't put there. I spoke to the manger who didn't apologize but told me I should not eat it and that they have signs up. He also told me the cook has no way to clean the grill off. I would have been ok with an apology but got nothing!

Yelp
What a charming place! The food is never ending... Delicious! This was worth the extra pound I gained. King Buffet I love everything you have! I'll be back

Yelp
Went to the Plano location for lunch and it was awesome. Everything was hot and fresh. Great place for a diverse array of food to try.

Yelp
Stopped by here for to-go lunch and food was excellent!! While checking out I realized I forgot the soup and Rita at the front offered to go get it for me! Phenomenal service!! Thanks King Buffet!
google avatar

Holly N.

Yelp
This has got to be one of the better Chinese buffets that you'll ever go to. Come on, it's an Asian buffet.. what do you expect? Expect nothing!! Just go in with no expectations. You won't get disappointed if you don't have any expectations. You are paying for convenience, not quality!! However, the taste and quality at this buffet is better than any other in the DFW metroplex. They have sushi, salad, soups, fried foods, baked foods, crabs, crawfish, Mongolian bar, and shrimps! They've got it all!! It's only $16/person for dinner and weekends. That's a steal!
google avatar

Mary C.

Yelp
Typical buffet with many options. They have beef, baked Salmon, many chicken dishes. I love their friend chicken wings and the Buffalo wings was pretty good too. They have clams, mussels, crab, shrimp. They have corn thats cooked louisiana style. There's also a few vegetable dishes. They also have pizza, chinese donuts , garlic bread, dinner rolls. They also have a Mongolian station where you create your own bowl of goodies and have the guy cook it for you. The Japanese section was okay too. For dessert, they have a full section. I only went for the soft ice cream. It was very good. Service was good. For the price, $14.++ you can't beat this.
google avatar

Ritz L.

Yelp
I've been here many times in the past, but I guess I never wrote a review about it, so, I'm going to write one from today's visit. Only thing I really like about this place is they cook your food for you Mongolian bbq style. I love my vegetables and tofu with the seasonings of my choice. It's absolutely delicious. As for other food, I'm not sure. I wished I took pictures of questionable food like Sushi, but I was playing safe and had 2 pieces of California rolls, bc I was scared to try the raw fish. I gave this place 3 stars, bc the pizza was good and Cajun corn and of course, Mongolian stir fried veggies and tofu. Our server was attentive. PB was very upset as he doesn't like this place, but he was being a good sport, bc I like the Mongolian style. He asked me never to bring him here again as he was not pleased with the food they had to offer. Plus, their ice cream is like ice milk from the 80's and though I wanted to try the Flan, I had no more room in my stomach. Now, I got my fix, I'm good for awhile. If I'm going to spend this type of money($41 plus tip, $48), I want to go somewhere with good quality of food, then I will be more than happy to pay for it. This place is huge and busy and the ambiance is good!! I really enjoyed people watching there too.

Jane H.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Price is wayyyy affordable for the amount and variety of food they offer. Definitely worth the trip! One of the best buffets i have ever been to! I keep coming back!

Deb R.

Yelp
Food is usually pretty good with huge variety for range of tastes. Mongolian Grill section is best imo, sushi is also good and pretty freshly made (not to order but I've watched them making the ones they set out on buffet). Hot buffet is pretty good overall, sauces just ok.
google avatar

Austin H.

Yelp
The food selection was great, even though I usually got fried rice and orange chicken. The waiter was very nice and helpful because he would always come to check on us and refill our drinks. The ambiance really fits with the food, the only thing that made it four star was that some children get charged as adults, that's the only thing.
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
Just ate here today, 10/21/22. And I honestly don't know how this can have any 1-stars. My experience was complete 5-star satisfaction. I arrived close to doors open to eat the food while it's freshest. If you arrive late, then I'd recommend foods that hold up better reheated, like non-fried/non-breaded stuff. The crab rangoon and potstickers were my favorite. Also loved that they had sushi too. The fact that they're able to produce so much tasty food at only ~$12 (~$15 after tax + tip for lunch) tells me this is the mark of hard working staff and incredible management. Other comparable buffets I've gone to, usually are $20-30+ easily. So this buffet is perfect for sampling without feeling obligated to overstuff yourself.

Easton F.

Yelp
It was really good the interior was really nice and clean this was my first time going here and I was speechless of how good the food was and we even got fortune cookies so that proves that this is a Chinese restaurant because I thought it was an Asian restaurant
google avatar

Bobby S.

Yelp
It was ok I can't complain. I've had worse seafood in this state. The service was kool as well. The atmosphere could have been better but I understand. Overall the food was straight
google avatar

Marina V.

Yelp
Dinner time crowded people waiting on the line, good thing you don't have to wait too long. Average 5-15 minutes. Inside very spacious, also a lot of people. Now, let's talk about food. Variety of food is huge, they have sushi rolls section, also they have Mongolian cuisine , pick any raw food, (meat, chicken, shrimp, tofu, a lot of vegetables) grab your sauce and bring them to chef. Because of a lot of people you might wait around 15-20min but it worth it. Baaaang very delicious. There are also another section of foods. You will find a lot of type Chinese foods, seafood... You should just check!
google avatar

Yelper A.

Yelp
As with most all of these type of buffets, you really shouldn't expect much. I will say the selection is a-plenty. The quality isn't that great though. I'd avoid their sushi bar altogether. The rice is just bland and sticks together. There is no QQ texture at all. I've seen more occasions of patrons sneezing on the food in the buffet line than I can count and it's horrifying to sit there as I take my next bite. The price (for lunch anyways) is not bad. Rarely can you find about $12.00 buffet with this big of a selection. But again, like I said. Just notice the patrons who dine there and you'll understand the level of quality.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The service is fine. The food...the crab was over cooked, so much so that the meat stuck to the shells. The broccoli beef meat was chewy and flavorless. The house chicken was pretty good. The desserts are all store bought. The cream puffs were put out in the plastic packaging. I recommend making a bowl for them to cook, similar to Genghis Grill. At least you know it's fresh. Well, if you can trust the meat is fresh and not cross contaminated.
google avatar

Rich T.

Yelp
Really good Chinese buffet! They should probably 86 the sushi and Mongolian grill and add more tables! This place was packed at 2pm in the afternoon. The service was spot on and very responsive. The ambience was nice and plenty of room between tables. Over all, one the better buffets that I have enjoyed locally so far. Thank you King Buffet!
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
We went to lunch here yesterday. The place is busy. Lots of actions. Well lit and decorated restaurant. Serving staff are helpful and courteous. Their buffet items are not a lot, volume wise. They have a Hibachi area where anyone can choose their food items that can be cooked in a huge hibachi grill. Clean separate Men and Women's bathroom.
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
TERRIBLE. Food tasted like it had been out for days. Reused shells for stuffed clams, shrimp was old and gross. Terrible experience. Was not worth the $30 I paid for my husband and I.
google avatar

Billy M.

Yelp
Food is always hot and fresh here and absolutely crazy amounts to choose from, my family are all picky eaters and we always find something to eat no problems here, they have fresh fish, a grill station where you can even create your own dish "my kids love that" and a soup area, seafood area but I always stick to the Sal and pepper chicken and fried rice! The service is always fast to fill up your drinks also. On another note this place is always clean when I come in, for a buffet they constantly have a people cleaning up and replenishing the food, definitely recommend

Yelp
Food was so good, with a great variety of selections. Ambiance was pleasant & service was fast and efficient.

Yelp
It is the KING! So much food to choose from. Everything was so awesome and delicious. Nice & very clean. Service is good.
