Cute little brewery it's taken me ages to get over to Williamson to check out. We watched the house be renovated and have long been curious about it. It's located on the very tip of a teeny finger of water which will provide a pleasant enough view in the summer. Although there was snow on the ground (it is December, after all), there is clearly ample outdoor seating in the front and some in the back as well. I read online that the outside is dog-friendly, as well, which will serve my friendly dog quite nicely!
I "liked" them on Facebook and noticed that there seems to be food trucks of some sort most nights. I noted there's a lobster truck on Thursday nights which will definitely bring us back one Thursday.
We've been trying out the local trivia games at various bars and breweries and this past Wed seemed like a good time to try the one at KCBC. It was also taco truck night so we stopped in early to grab some food from the taco truck. (Super-friendly service and everyone liked their food. Super Burrito with all 4 meats was $9, tacos were $2.50 each, your choice of Chorizo, Chicken, Steak or grrrr, I've forgotten the fourth. We also got a cheesy chicken quesadilla which I think was $8.)
Trivia is held upstairs in this establishment and there is no elevator. Trivia master is a friendly guy named Andrew who came over and introduced himself and explained the version he offers. There is lag time between each question while he marks our answers so there is time to chat with the folks you came with. There seemed to be enough room upstairs for about 13 teams to play trivia and the whole second floor was full. They offer 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes ($30, $20, $10 gc to KCBC).
The bar itself upstairs opens for trivia and we tried a few different kinds. Service to get your beer (they also offer prosecco on tap) was prompt. Almost everyone brought some taco truck takeout upstairs but we had to ask for napkins under the counter. I saw a trivia team bring some snacks from the grocery store, so like many breweries that don't serve food, bringing in snacks from outside is A-ok.
After eating my tacos I was dying for something salty to snack on the rest of the night. When you can't get something else to eat and you're drinking beer, you feel even hungrier! The taco truck doesn't serve chips and salsa or nachos, just main dish items. I eyeballed the snacks the team in the back brought and decided I'd just make some appetizers for my group and bring them next time.
When it was time to pay we were told to cash out downstairs since we'd opened our tab down there. Lo and behold, if you're downstairs you can purchase pretzels or salty snacks out of big class containers! KCBC, I'd recommend bringing some of those snacks upstairs for the second floor crowd asap. When people are eating they drink more!!!!
Decor is adorable and comfy. I can see why KCBC's parking lot is constantly full. Looking forward to trying when it's warm enough to sit outside and I'm sure we'll be back to play trivia again soon.
