The 15 Best Restaurants in San Gabriel, Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Broken rice served with a plethora of proteins is what it’s all about at this long-standing restaurant. There’s shredded pork dusted in roasted rice powder, pork meatloaf, grilled shrimp paste, grilled pork, and so on. Make sure to get a fried egg to top it all off." - Cathy Chaplin

These guys have been around, and for good reason! Try any of their Broken Rice dishes --it's in the name after all! You can't go wrong! Best of all, I love the service! These guys have a nice sense of humor. I was trying to scrape out the coconut meat 🥥 with a spoon, & my girlfriend was like "Good job! 👏🏻" Then our server was like, " 🤓Good job! 👍🏻" As he sipped some coconut juice. 🤣 Gotta love it when the crew knows how to have fun!

15. Com Tam King Special is good but not so good as expectation when it looks like the best one which this restaurant recommended. 79. House special with beef combo is really nice. Highly recommend. We would come again because of this beef noodle. The soup and beef is delicious. The service is good. People here are very friendly and serve efficiently.

Their food came out fast which was good cause I was hungry. Their broken rice was tasty and I liked their egg rolls and soup. Also a great deal for the price!

First time dining here. The food was ok. Medium quality The establishment was clean. Service was really good. Soft music, excellent for relaxing dinner. I love that the restroom was normally quaint, basic propped but very clean and no chemicals smell. Big plus. The worst part was the dishes not well rinsed. All my dishes were either smelled like bleach or dishwasher detergent. Major turn off. I hope the management will take care of that. Such a small detail that ruined my dinner

Located next to a busy Asian supermarket. I went on a Friday morning, and the service was great! The food came out super quickly after ordering, and they were really spot on for me. The rolls were wrapped nicely, and the broken rice plate had the biggest portions I've gotten from a Vietnamese restaurant. Would recommend if you were craving for some grilled/ fried food. Park at the supermarket lot and walk to the restaurant located on the side.

Google
The dishes were overall tasty and came in generous portions, especially the pho. Decent prices, too. We enjoyed the broken rice dishes; the grilled pork that came with it had a nice charred flavour and reminded us of Chinese pork jerky. We chose beef when we paid another visit, but I think the pork had better flavour. The coffee was good, but strong. If you’re not used to caffeine, don’t expect to sleep! Some dishes were a hit and miss. The rice cake appetiser with dried shrimp was quite bland and the broken rice special combo contained a lot of fish cake (possibly deep fried) and sausage type items, which didn’t suit our taste. It was still good, but I think we will stick to the grilled meat next time. Regardless, good food. Happy to come again.

This restaurant is amazing! I had my crew of 30 people eat here and Tony’s customer service was amazing. And the food was sooo goood. I highly recommend eating.

Felt like we were transported to Vietnam! They renovated the entire restaurant and it’s kept pretty clean everywhere I looked. All the staff were soooo genuinely friendly, kind, and very friendly not only to customers, but also with each other. They seemed to be having a good time despite how busy they were. The foods were… just… 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻!!! The hen with red rice came with the clear broth pork soup and the entire hen! The portion size was so big for the price and every bite, delicious!! Made soup with the leftover chicken and it was so good. Found a piece of a peppercorn and a clove in the chicken😙 The charbroiled pork dish was wholesome and the meatball spring rolls was sooo good! Can’t wait to go back to this jewel of San Gabriel 👑

Yelp
consistently serving good vietnamese food. we dined in so i actually got pictures this time haha there's ample seating inside and customer service was great, attentive staff.

Yelp
Dined in for lunch on 1/14/25. It was only 1/4 full during that time. No wait. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet #79. It came with different meats and it came out pretty quick. It tasted great with no complaints. I know this place is more known for their broken rice dishes, but if you want a decent pho, it is good. Notes: you can use credit card but minimum purchase of $20.00

Yelp
We decided to try this spot one night after our usual place for bun bo hue was closed. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our expectations. Two of us ordered the bun bo hue, and it just wasn't what we were hoping for--the broth lacked flavor and tasted more like water than what we're used to. My boyfriend ordered a bowl of pho, which was better, but still not as good as other places we've tried. The egg rolls, however, were flavorful, and well-prepared. We also got an order of spring rolls, which were okay but nothing memorable. Overall, while the egg rolls were great, the disappointing bun bo hue means we're unlikely to return, at least not for that dish.

Yelp
Cash and card accepted. Rice dishes still come with a small bowl of broth, they must have forgotten to give me one last time I ordered. Service is fast and friendly. 221. Com Do Ga Roti (Red Rice with Fried Cornish Hen)- best Cornish hen I've had. Juicy, tender and flavorful. If you love good boba shop popcorn chicken, this Cornish hen has similar seasoning and you'll love it too! Red rice here is not good, no flavor with just a hint of seasoning and pretty dry. I would order the Cornish hen with regular com tam rice instead. First time having pho here, pretty good nothing to complain about.

Yelp
This place is delicious, the veggies abundant and fresh. Every dish is wonderful, plenty of space. Service is great

Yelp
*3.5 This place seemed to have been here for awhile, but I've only heard about it through a friend. Decided to try this place last night as I was craving com tam. I got #63 which was the grilled pork, steamed egg, shredded pork, and bean curd skin with shrimp. I liked the grilled pork, which was probably my favorite thing on my plate, but everything else was mediocre. I thought the steamed egg didn't have that much flavor to it and I wasn't a big fan of the shrimp or the shredded pork. There are definitely better places for com tam, but I wouldn't say this place is necessarily bad.

Yelp
Called in to order to go because we were craving some Com Tam and this is our go to place. They were very efficient with their service. We ordered the chicken rice plate with an extra shrimp roll. Unfortunately they forgot the egg loaf so we called to see what they could do and they said they'll make it up next time. Everything was delicious regardless, the chicken was tender, rice was perfectly soft, fish sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and salty and the shrimp roll was delicious. It also came with a soup that was pork based to wash it all down. I will definitely come back to try other dishes here!

Yelp
really solid vietnamese food, everything was super delicious! the highlight was the king com tam broken rice special combo, everything on the plate was bomb. shrimp pho was good, it could be slightly more flavorful but still really yummy. came with 7 shrimps in a massive bowl. service was friendly, ambiance is super casual. would definitely come here again and recommend the special combo!

Yelp
The food is always great every time we stop by if we are looking for good Vietnamese rice or noodle plates. The service is great and then owner is very nice and recognizes us each time we come by. It's like every other year or so as we are locals. There are plenty of tables and plenty of room for seating.

Yelp
Since the old Com Tam Kieu in Rosemead closed down, my family has been coming here whenever we crave com tam (broken rice). Their food is very consistent in quality and flavor. The prices are very affordable and reasonable for this economy, and the portion sizes are very generous. I think I may eat smaller serving sizes than some, but I always end up only eating half of my plate and saving the other half for another meal. $12-14 for a large plate of rice and protein is such a good deal in my opinion! I usually like to order cơm tấm sườn bì chả tàu hũ ky (grilled pork chop, shredded pork, pork and egg meatloaf, and shrimp paste tofu curd cakes). I think the grilled pork chop is well-flavored and moist. The tofu curd cakes are crispy on the outside, which is how I like them. I personally think their pork and egg meatloaf (cha trứng) could use more pork and texture, but overall their broken rice plates are pretty good. They may not be the best I've ever had but they are the best in the area (as far as I know; if anyone knows of better, I would love to know)! Additionally, the owner of the restaurant is very fair. One example is that my aunt once bought bánh ít (a type of Vietnamese sticky rice cakes) from this restaurant and found out that they had gone bad when she arrived home. She called the owner to let him know, and he refunded her the money. I say this to give an example of the good customer service here; I hope that no one will read this review and try to take advantage of that.

Yelp
I don't get it, why isn't there more people at this place, the food is good, the staff is fast and friendly and the restaurant is clean. The trifecta of dining is here! I came here with friends and was recommended the large plate with 10 items broken rice plate and was soooooo pleasantly surprised with the amount of food and the quality of the marinades of each protein. I ordered the beef and it was Smokey bbq flavored and not overly salty. Most places serve things more towards the salty side but King Coms chefs were sooo good that seasoning only helped to highly the freshness and skill of textures and doneness of the meat not over cooking em. The Cafe Sua Dah is sooo tasty as well just the perfect amount of everything...

Yelp
King Com Tam specializes in Com Tam, which is a dish with broken rice and assorted grilled meats. They also have dry noodle dishes such as banh hoi and bun. Com Tam Bi, Cha, Thit: Broken rice are the grains that have fractured during the milling process. In this dish, the dome of broken rice has a pleasing, sticky texture with more surface area for absorbing all the flavors. The grilled pork is sliced thin and tender. The shredded strands of pork and pork skin are dusted with toasted rice powder for subtle texture and flavor. The steamed egg is sort of like a meaty soufflé with glass noodles and wood ear mushrooms. The soft and slick scallions also build flavor in this dish. Pour the nuoc mam sauce to make the plate sweet, tangy, and savory. The pickled cabbage slices and sliced cucumber add a refreshing crunch. Banh Hoi Tom, Thit, Tau Hu Ky: The thin rice vermicelli patties form the base of the plate. The lattice shape offers a nice texture and mouthfeel. Its structure helps you wrap everything in a leaf of lettuce. Every lettuce wrap is slightly different. You can make a super wrap with grilled shrimp, grilled pork, bean curd shrimp cake, pickled carrots and daikon, and mint. It's a great mix of flavors and textures. Dining Area: There's almost 10 booths by the windows in front. Parking: There's a large parking lot for Hawaii Supermarket. There's also street parking out front.

Yelp
Service is slow. Pay upfront with your ticket number. There was a fly in the free soup they give.... And they took forever to bring another one. They didn't even apologize. - Grilled Pork Chop Broken Rice 4.4/5 The pork chop has good flavor but it was VERY dry and overcooked. Everything else was good. Street parking or market parking.

Yelp
This spot appears to be the top choice for Com Tam (Vietnamese Broken Rice plates) in San Gabriel. Stopped in on a weekday afternoon for a quick lunch -- no lines, no fuss, immediate seating. I tried their Cơm Tấm KING Special Combo (10 Items) priced at $19.49 per order. I subbed the pork chop for beef rib for an additional $2.00. The plate was huge as it came with a generous scoop of broken rice, beef rib, egg cake, shrimp cake, Chinese sausages, fish cake, bbq grilled shrimp, pickled vegetables, and other items -- see photos attached. I finished half and packed the other half which I thoroughly enjoyed for dinner later that evening. Food was good but considering that I'm from the Bay Area, the standards are set high for Vietnamese food. Was it the best? No. Would I come back again? Sure - to try other menu items.

Yelp
This might be my favorite com tam place in SGV. I went here on a Sunday evening with my family and we got a seat right away. We order 3 of the #64 and 1 #106. My picky eater mom was impressed with the food and really likes the grilled pork chop that came with the rice. The rice dishes also came with a soup which was comforting on a cold night. The fish sauce that came with the com tam was pretty good too, not too salty or sweet. Service was friendly and fast. Parking is either street parking or the Hawaii market parking lot.

Yelp
They have an excellent grilled pork over vermicelli noodles. Under the noodles are raw veggies/ salad. It comes with pork egg rolls on top. I wanted non fried egg rolls, but no exchanges. This was very good! Thank you!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places for Com Tam in the SGV. However, I usually like ordering the Bun Bo Nuong. Portion sizes are amazing for the price and the auntie working there is super nice!
google avatar

Yelp
Good broken rice. Lots of topping & big serving. Enough for 2. Passion fruit drink is sweet but good. Che ba mao is good. Normally I don't like it because the red bean makes it heavy. But this place makes a balanced dessert. They also sell pennywort drink. Don't like it but good for old people, I guess.

Yelp
Ok, so I've been on this new wave to try new restaurants. Thank you Yelp for Yelping! Without Yelp I wouldn't have come across this regal restaurant! King Com Tam took me back to the time I was in Saigon. The music, the decorations, and the style of food. I couldn't believe how fast the food came out as well. We sat, ordered, and by the time I took a breath my dish was being served. I've tried Bun Thit Nuong at every Vietnamese restaurant I go to. By a landslide victory, this was top 2! I immediately noticed their pork was done so different from others. I smelled the charr in the meat and the taste made me step back and look at it. The entire bowl left me in shock and awe. The banh beo was very delicious as well. The serving size was pretty generous too. My partner ordered the Bun Bo Hue and that too was extremely good. So good that She beckoned for me to try it! Everything was so good that we became curious as to what other patrons ordered. I'm so glad we stopped by this restaurant. It indeed exceeded our expectations and we will be coming back. Thank you King Com Tam!

Yelp
The specialty here are the: Broken Rice Plates (Com Tam). It includes your choice of proteins, some fried goodies, veggies, a sauce; soup on the side. Variety of combos to choose from. Equally as delicious are the dry vermicelli rice noodles plates (bun), served with noodles instead of rice. The egg rolls are stellar and comes with a generous amount of veggies! PHO is not their specialty, so I personally would not order it here. Service is polite and restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Parking is NOT the best: either street park on busy Valley Blvd or park at the Hawaii Market lot.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Red Rice with Korean BBQ Beef - This came with soup & fish sauce. The soup was very bland. I did not use the fish sauce either. The beef had good flavors, but there were a few pieces of beef that I just could not chew through; they were so tough... The red rice was of mild flavor also. The side salad was good and refreshing. Pho with Rare Beef & Beef Flank, Tendon & Tripe - Good, my daughter finished the entire order. It looked large. She asked to hold the veggies, but the first order came with the veggies. They quickly corrected their mistake. So many Yelp reviews rave about their portion sizes... Both my daughter and I finished all our food and we are light eaters... Atmosphere - Do you have a parking lot? I did see a sign to park at the supermarket, a block away. But we got lucky and got street parking right in front of your restaurant. Cool red car hobby, red helicopter, red everything. Guessing red is your favorite color...? Clean organized bathroom with a picture of Las Vegas, which is cool as that is our next stop, just in case you are following. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm. Service - Owner seemed cool. A little small talk. The rest of the service was just okay; I had to ask for stuff. But they accommodated. Price - $32 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success and being in this location for 16+ years!

Yelp
Definitely my go-to place for broken rice. I usually get #16, the Com Tam Special with 10 items to-go. Every time I come, I just park on the street in-front of the store, but it opens out to a big street. So it can be hard to get in and out sometimes. Com Tam Special: More expensive than the other rice plates, but my takeout is always super heavy. They give a lot of food. I can easily share this with another person or feed myself for two more meals. My favorite is the egg roll and how crispy the skin is. The meat and shrimp are always well flavored too. I love that this dish is always consistently good, every time I order it. We tried to do call in orders in the past, but they would make it after we got there, so we stopped doing that. Even so, they are usually pretty fast with making the food.

Yelp
@kingcomtam is dad's FAV com tam spot in the SGV! And I can totally see why. These egg rolls have that super light rice paper cronch that's absolutely heavenly! They're packed with ground meat, black fungus, bean thread noodles, veggies and TONS of flavor! Served with a side of fresh veggies to wrap and that sweet sweet Nuoc Cham for dipping! Their egg rolls are definitely top tier! The Banh Beo is light and packed with flavor. Topped with dried shrimp powder, scallion oil, and fried chicharron and served with their house Nuoc Cham. I love that there's just a bunch laid out on the plate for easy sharing, and trust me! You're gonna want to share this. It comes with SO MANY! I mean, you could easily just eat this as a meal but there are so many other great options on the menu that's it's way better to order and eat family style to try a bit of everything! Com Tam Dac Biet with 10 items. We LOVE getting the large 10 item plate. It's large enough that everyone gets a piece of every protein and everything is made so nom-nomtastic! I personally love to order this with the bone in pork chop but papa was feeling the beef today so we opted for that! Each com plate comes with a side of pickled vegetables and a bowl of pork spareribs soup to wash the rice down with. Trust me, 10 items is A LOT! Get an extra side of rice to gobble down all that meat with. Parking isn't the greatest (limited street parking and a SUPER crowded supermarket parking lot) but if you can snag yourself a spot, this should be your next lunch spot! Servers are pretty attentive (for a legit asian spot) but they definitely need new water cups! We each got a tiny cup for iced water/tea that we got filled probably 30 times lol. Restaurant is pretty big and fairly clean. If they're too busy, you can grab your own togo containers near their kitchen entrance. Pay at the counter!

Yelp
Come here to try their broken rice, not their pho. I got the combo special broken rice with pork, and loved the assorted meat options. The shrimp paste and crispy egg roll stood out to me the most. The former reminded me a lot of the shrimp sugar cane that's at dim sum, which is one of my favorites. The pork texture was a little on the tougher side, but I still liked the flavor. Portions for each are alright, but combine everything together and it's a lot. I could barely finish it for dinner, but that's because I had a small lunch prior to that. Pho is just alright. Broth was a bit bland and the sliced meat was a bit tough.
google avatar

Theresa D.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times and their broken rice dishes always hit the spot! The portions are also very generous. Service is excellent and plenty of seating usually available. Their pork spring rolls (nem nướng cuon) taste different from what you would typically get in other restaurants so I didn't enjoy them that much.
google avatar

Braxton H.

Yelp
I come to this place often, I love Tony! He is such as great host and was always attentive whenever I've come to visit. Whenever it is busy, the servers are attentive and always make sure that the tables are clean and available. This is one of the best places (in my opinion), to get high quality and authentic Vietnamese food in the SGV. I've come here often and the food always hits the spot. Whenever I have at least $25 in my pocket, I make sure to always come here and order the #16 (king com tam special) that comes with 10 different sides and an extra $2 for ribs. Plus tax, this is around $23, and is immediately a bang for your buck! It is served with a complimentary ox tail soup with a warm and soothing broth that is a great addition with the com tam. This has been a popular spot for my date nights, and I've never walked out of this restaurant disappointed. Such big portions, great ambiance, and a friendly environment! Would highly-recommend for a first date, casual lunch, late dinner, or early breakfast. Wonderful experience all around!

Yelp
Everything tastes fresh and delicious whenever I come here ! I love the clean and relaxing eating environment as well. Their egg rolls are perfectly crispy and flavorful.

Yelp
Very big portions! In the Hawaii supermarket plaza, lots of parking. The king combo is enough for 2-3 meals.

Yelp
King Com Tam is the place to be day or night for Vietnamese cuisine lovers! I recently visited this restaurant to meet a friend and we had a great time! I even think I've been here once before with family when I lived near the area so it was so nostalgic to be back! They updated the interior a bit but it still had that cozy and inviting feel to it. We got Phan Cha Gio Egg Rolls to share. They were crispy, packed with flavor, and served piping hot, plus, you get to wrap it with crisp lettuce and fresh herbs for a great bite. I got the #19 Bun Bo Hue Noodle Soup for myself and it made my night. I loved how it was filled with a variety of toppings like fish cake, lots of sliced beef, and fresh veggies to top it with. It comes with a separate plate of bean sprouts, more herbs, and jalapenos for you to top off your soup. I like to call Bun Bo Hue the spicy cousin of a traditional Pho soup. It was made perfect! Everything we ordered was great for the giant portion sizes and very reasonable in price. I got to take home my noodle soup and some of the egg rolls as leftovers to enjoy the next day - and you bet I did! Since it is close to CNY, the restaurant team was putting up some decorations and even had a small indoor firecracker show, it was unexpected, but seeing all the happy faces of the staff celebrating CNY, how could we not be happy too? :) The restaurant is located at the street and there is plenty of street parking or you can choose to park at the parking lot of Hawaii Supermarket, since its in the same block. Visit King Com Tam when you're craving authentic Vietnamese food at great prices or if you are looking to explore new flavors on a budget! I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I came here seeking com tam but didn't want to travel all the way to Orange County. I ordered the pork chop plate and found the pork chop to be reddish and sweet, reminiscent of char sui. The steamed egg was substantial and firm. The dish also included dry noodles with thinly sliced pork and a sprinkling of some brown powder, offering a unique taste and texture that I had never experienced before. The homemade pickled vegetables (cabbage and cucumber) didn't appeal to me; the cabbage was tough, and the cucumber looked unappetizing. I took a bite and decided to pass on it. I particularly enjoyed the sweet pork chop and broken rice, accompanied by passion fruit soda. I really liked the fried fat bits on the rice. So yummy! It was great to discover a local com tam restaurant with a spacious interior and a diverse menu. For those having trouble finding street parking, I recommend parking at Hawaii supermarket. The atmosphere here is very cozy and welcoming. I noticed many elderly gentlemen, which I found interesting and enjoyable.

Yelp
Com tam (broken rice) has been one of my favorite dishes to eat. My parents like coming here, so we decided to come try it out and we were glad we did! The service was fast and the ambiance was your typical Vietnamese restaurant with TVs playing Vietnamese songs. It is located on Valley and Del Mar right next to the Hawaii supermarket. There is street parking in front of the restaurant. I usually order the broken rice with shredded pork, steamed egg, and grilled pork (#23 in this menu) whenever I am at a com tam restaurant. I'm glad to say that this place did not disappoint. The rice dish was delicious and comes in a very generous portion. The shredded pork tasted great and so did the grilled pork. The steam egg is always my favorite part of the broken rice dish and this restaurant made it very well. The rice dishes also come with the standard bone broth. My wife got the broken rice with shredded pork, steamed egg, bean curd with shrimp, and pork shop (#64 on the menu). She enjoyed it and was able to take half of it home for another meal. Overall, we found our new go-to broken rice restaurant. Highly recommended if you are in the mood for some Vietnamese broken rice!

Vy ..

Yelp
Com tam has always been my favorite food since I was a little kid in Vietnam. My mom would always take us to this side of neighborhood (not a restaurant) but just a lady making com tam every morning. Ever since, I moved to the U.S, I went to different places to try com tam but nothing would compare to the flavor it was in Vietnam, that is until now.. I am just so happy that I could enjoy my favorite food again. Please don't ever stop using Uber eats :(

Yelp
One of the best com tam place in the 626, I have been going to this location since their previous ownership. The parking is difficult because you probably have to park in the Hawaiian supermarket. I got my com tam without rice and with extra lettuce. I could easily eat this in one sitting so if you are hungry then this is for you. There is so much options in front of you and it all affordable. The service was fast and efficient, they made sure we were taken care of. I would totally recommend this if you are craving a hardy meal in the 626.

Yelp
This restaurant is great, I have been eating at this establishment since I was a little girl. However, the original family sold it and it is now King Com Tam. It is really great restaurant, however, I am kind of sad that the nuoc mam is a different recipe. I always get the rice with shredded pork , Korean barbecue meat, pork, meatloaf, and shrimp paste. This time I tried out the passionfruit drink, which was nice and sparkly. However, it was way too much syrup and ice.

Yelp
my friend group's go to spot for com tam it's so delicious! i've eaten here a few times and to go a couple times and the service is always quick!

Yelp
Yes! I think I've found my new favorite place for com tam! After my disappointing experience at a past favorite com tam spot, I've been in search of a new one around the SGV. Lo and behold, King Com Tam arrives! Located on the busy street of Valley Blvd, parking and traffic is chaotic, which is probably the main downside of this place. However, I was pleasantly surprised how modern the restaurant looked inside. They have plenty of tables and booths, great for large families or smaller groups. The menu had lots of different items. I decided to try their Com Tam with grilled pork, shredded pork skin, egg roll, and steamed egg. We also got an order of their nem nuong cuon to try. The com tam portion is hugeee! Everything on the plate was delicious, although I wished they gave more steamed egg. The pickled veggies were also tasty. It was so much food I had to take a portion home. The Nem nuong cuon were a little disappointing though. They give a dipping sauce that seemed to have crab meat in it? It wasn't very good, and I prefer summer rolls' nem nuong and sauce instead. The fried egg roll inside the nem nuong cuon also wasn't as crispy. I'll probably skip this the next time I'm here or just get a small nem nuong portion included in my com tam. Overall, I'm excited to return!

Yelp
Went here with a friend. I had the combination broken rice dish. The meats were good and rice was fragrant and flaky. I love the fact that I am able to make several combinations and get different bites all from the same dish. It was good for a hot day but craving Vietnamese but was too hot for noodles and did not feel like bun or banh mi.

Yelp
Service is top notch and food is consistently good everything! Only tricky thing is parking but still doable. Plenty of tables plus we don't usually need to wait. I usually get the big plate, broken rice special cause it has almost every topping in it. =)

Yelp
Good and service is good. Really authentic. Only negative is the parking. Wish there was more parking but this is California.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Quite pleased with my order this time. I got #64 Broken Rice with Shredded Pork, Steamed Egg, Bean Curd Skin w/ Shrimp & Grilled Pork Chop + #202 Mung Bean Milk with Pandan Leaves (they call it green bean milk but it's mung bean). It was a satisfying meal. Fairly happy with it. #64 came with a bowl of soup, which is a nice added touch. I've gotten the 10-item plate before, but it was only okay. For some reason #64 tasted better. Also, ordered pho and bun (dry vermicelli) before and they were so-so/okay, respectively. For drinks. Avocado Smoothie & #202 are good choices. A bit too sweet for my taste. Still recommend cuz it tasted good. I think I've also ordered a passion fruit drink before. It was fine, not memorable. Service is generally good. One time I've ordered a lot of food & drinks and the gentleman at the register (business owner I think?) opened the door for me. Very nice of him. Plenty of seating inside. Parking can be a bit difficult. It's mostly trying your luck in the front on Valley or park down the street or at the Hawaii Supermarket parking lot and walk.

Yelp
This restaurant is pretty big but felt like it's owned by mom and pop. The service was fast and friendly. They start you off with a small soup first and then the entrees come out. Never seen a viet spot that has a 10 item dish so that's what we ordered to see what it came with. It was a mixture of a few diff meats and egg rolls included. Honestly that dish alone can feed two people. I got the pork chop rice and it was yummy! Tender and flavorful

Yelp
If you are looking for good Com Tam, this is a place. Their Com Tam combo is good in presentation and flavor but the fish sauce is just ok. Bun Bo Hue is also good to try if you like hot noodle soup as with filled with beef slides, pork knuckle , Vietnamese ham and cooked pig's blood cubes. The service was friendly and fast. Restaurant is spacious and have lot of seats and we never have to wait on weekdays' nights. However, it's hard to find street parking in front of restaurant and you may have to park in the nearby market's parking lot.

Yelp
Huge portion sizes! Came here in a whim and was not disappointed. I got the rice plate and my boyfriend got the bun rieu. Both were filling and very tasty. Parking is kinda tricky? We parked behind the marker since there wasn't really any other area to park. Service was good and restaurant was clean! Would recommend

Yelp
When we're craving a good Vietnamese broken rice plate, King Com Tam is where we go. One 10 and/or 7 item plate can serve 3 people. They give you a lot of food. We don't typically dine in so I can't say that much about the dine-in experience but they are quite pleasant when we order to-go. The restaurant itself seems generous in size and clean.

Yelp
I've been going to this restaurant for 10 plus years! The food you get for the value is amazing. I often order the 16 items meal that can be eaten twice or three times! Big portion! They renovated the interior a while ago making this place looks really nice.

Yelp
My favorite place for delicious com tam! Moving from the OC to SGV prompted a search for similar items I love eating growing up there. OC is the prime location for Vietnamese food and luckily there are plenty locations in the SGV offering Vietnamese cuisine. I'm quite picky when it comes to Vietnamese food and after giving several restaurants a try, King Com Tam is my personal favorite for broken rice plates. They don't get as busy as their competitors but their food speak for itself. Prices are affordable and portions are very generous. It even comes with soup on the side which a lot of competitors don't include! A WIN! You also get soup even with takeout which makes the entire meal even better if eaten at home. Parking is limited (street, small lot on side) on a busy street but don't let this deter you. They have other Vietnamese entrees on the menu but they excel in com tam. Will be back!

Yelp
I think this place has renovated since the last time I've been here. The rice plates here are on point. They most popular is the #16 which iven gotten before and it was a giant plate of food. This most recent time, I decided on the #62 and although that was a lot of food too, I was able to finish it. The rice plates come with a bowl of broth which is a nice touch. There is street parking in front of the restaurant. However, you can also park in the Hawaii grocery store lot. That definitely saves the stress factor in trying to find a parking spot.
