King Donuts

Found these guys on Good To Go app but went in after reading reviews. Got the egg, cheese, and sausage breakfast sandwich. SO GOOD!! The sausage had great flavor and the sandwich was great! Had to get some doughnuts (all for research...). I LOVE that they fill them with whatever you choose. Like other reviews have noted, they are sweet without being cloying - (think - Krispy Kreme that aren't so sweet that your teeth hurt.) We haven't tried them all yet, but we were a little disappointed with the taste of oil in the glazed sour cream cake doughnuts. All in all, this place is a win. We are visiting but like to go into neighborhoods and try local stuff. Absolutely try King doughnuts! Heine Brothers Coffee is a few storefronts down, so you get two local places for one stop! NOTE - I am revising my review and talking a star off of the overall rating and two stars off of the food rating. The taste of oil in the cake doughnuts was so bad we had to throw them away. I've never had cake doughnuts that tasted like oil - they were AWFUL. The raised doughnuts, however, were great!

The best donuts in the world nothing tops Kings donuts. If you a cream filled jelly filled donut lover they feel him right there in front of you every donut is just a taste of perfection. The donuts are very light compared to any other donut that seems heavy and weight. But if you want to taste this perfection you better get there early because they all and I mean all locations sell out pretty fast so once they sell out they are out so make sure you get there very early to get the pick of your choosing

Here visiting family and happened upon this gem. The service was friendly. The smile from behind the counter was welcoming and the place was clean! And I haven't gotten to the best part, the donuts! You can choose what you want to fill your cream stick with (custard, cream or jelly). Our family of 8 well pleased with the choice to stop at King Donuts for breakfast.

Best donuts and kolaches in town! They have a great variety and the friendliest service. Ms Kim that works the front counter is a delight! I will definitely be returning. ☺️

I have ordered DD from here weekly.. I happen to drive by on purpose☺️.. they were open. Smiles and fresh Cronuts as far as the eye can see..the Bacon egg and cheese Croissant is not only Huge for the price it's flaky and fresh and hot..all the doughnuts are Delicious...5am to 130pm..you have to come in ..☺️❤️ ..I can't stress enough, FRESH AND FLAKY AND DEELISHOUS!! ♥️💕☺️

Donuts are always fresh and not overly greasy. The staff have always been very friendly in my experience, and at 1/3 the price of Jeff's, they can't be beat. Always my go-to on the way to the hospital.

Delicious! I love how they are sweet but not overly sweet. The chocolate glaze and cronut were amazing. Can’t wait to try different options.

A vendor sent these donuts to our office today. I have grown up in Louisville, I am 60 years young. Why have I not had these before? Best EVER. Worth the trip to get more.

Wonderful hospitality and customer service. THE BEST APPLE FRITTER IVE HAD IN LOUISVILLE! Their breakfast sandwiches were also great and very well priced compared to other places in Lou. We will be back :)

Stopped in for some doughnuts at King Doughnuts since the one we wanted to visit was sadly closed on Tuesdays. Boy am I glad for this detour. The doughnuts were oh so yummy, dough was soft but still had a little bite. Flavors were several, but no signage, so the staff was helpful in defining what each was. Also filled a doughnut for me when the particular filling I wanted wasn't available. For sure would recommend king doughnut!

Delicious donuts. Love the crisp of the apple fritter ( dough reminds me of an old favorite from "Winn-Dixie" called the "big ugly". The yeast glazed are freshly made and the variety is different and good at the same time. They also have Blue Bell ice cream by the scoop which is unique and new for the area. We will be back:)

I'm so happy there's another donut shop nearby. It's located right by the Walgreens on Eastern Parkway. The employees here were super nice and helpful. The prices are pretty reasonable too. All the donuts I had were so delicious. Their original glazed donuts were amazing. Definitely super light and fluffy. I tried a breakfast sandwich and that was really good too. I had a strawberry smoothie. It didn't seem like it was made with real fruit. Maybe a strawberry syrup? Either way it was nice and refreshing.

Cute place, they have a bunch of donut options, and breakfast sandwiches at decent prices. I ordered a "cronut" which was hilariously just a small croissant with icing on top, still tasted good though! You can order ahead and pick up but be warned, if they are out of something they make you pick something else, they will not (or can not? I'm not sure) refund you for the out of stock item.

If you're not running or even walking to kings donuts on eastern pkwy, I don't know what you're doing. A great local, Asian owned bakery that has plenty of options, as well as ice cream, smoothies, and breakfast sandwiches. I can't wait to come back. Go go go.

The spot has opened up off the Eastern Parkway. It is very clean and well spaced. They have taken a lot of precautions for COVID19 to keep employees and patrons safe. They have marked the floors for physical distancing. The donuts over regularly available and they have sandwiches as well as smoothies. I got a strawberry sprinkle doughnut which was delicious. Then I also got a chocolate covered custard filled donut. The custard is probably the best that I've ever had. The donuts are light, fluffy and airy. I can't wait to go back and try a smoothie which even comes in Thai tea flavor. This is definitely a place to check out.

We stopped for coffee at the place next door and saw King Donut. The staff is so friendly, greeting with huge smiles and kind words. They served us efficiently, BUT THE DONUTS WERE DELECTABLE! The apple fritter was so crispy and iced thoroughly, and the sprinkle donut was SO SOFT and practically melted in my mouth. One friend said the coconut donut flavor was unique and tasty. Another said they have had many blueberry donuts in their day and this was the best. 10/10 YOU MUST GO!

I had a hankerin' for a donut this morning and King Donut delivered. I had a cake donut and a maple old fashioned. The shop was clean, the staff member was friendly. The donuts were moist and delicious. Price was fabulous. I just moved to the neighborhood, but I know this won't be my last visit.

I am admittedly both a donut snob and a donut purist. I love a simple glazed donut above all else. There's nothing to hide behind; It has to be good on its own merit. I've tried several places around town since moving here, including some that are considered the best donuts in town and I think King Donut beats them all so far. Maybe not a lot of creative offerings but that's not what I'm looking for anyway! I always receive service with a smile as well, which is nice. Glad this place is just down the street!

One of my favorite donut places in Louisville! They also have awesome breakfast sandwiches. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was clean. Highly recommend to stop by in the morning before work!

Stopped in right before closing to check out the doughnuts...I was totally surprised! I halfway expected the doughnuts to not be soft since it was closing time! Ummmm, I was wrong! The gentleman waiting on me was extremely friendly and didn't rush me to make a selection. I jumped in the car, sanitized my hands and reached in my bag... the only thing left to say is, "Ooohhhh doughnuts!" I got the cinnamon roll and it was delicious! I'll go back to try others...so should you!!

Delicious doughnuts and wonderful service. Not overpriced either! Definitely some of the best doughnuts in the area.

Love these fresh donuts both cake and yeast with classic bear claws and apple fritters. AND they have locally churned super premium ice cream by the scoop! Stop by 5am- 6 pm.

The donuts are great, but the staff is what will make you a loyal customer. I had heard several positive reviews from friends and I can understand why! Very kind, genuine people manage this place.

Favorite donut shop and even deli, they have a great bacon egg and cheese sanwhich you can get on a croissant and it is incredible!! My favorite pastries are the apple fritter, the cheese danish and the sour cream donut but you really cant go wrong w any choice :)

Super delicious donuts and great prices. The owners are so nice. The bear claw is one of the best I have had. They have sandwiches, ice cream, coffee, and tea, but I have never tried them. This is a great alternative when Nords is too busy

These are the BEST donuts I've ever had, and I have had plenty in my lifetime. Plus, their smoothies are amazing. I love the strawberry and the mango ones, they're very aesthetically pleasing and tasty. Super creamy and decadent. The donuts are fluffy and soft and the price is great too. Also, the staff are all very friendly!

Love the apple fritter! It's huge! My wife is a big fan of the cronuts! Always a wide variety of doughnuts to choose from!

We were so excited to see a new location on Eastern Parkway!! We have been the past 2 weekends since we have known they were open. You must try a cronut (a glazed croissant). So addicting. The donuts are flaky and melt in your mouth. We tried the ice cream they have in store and it was amazing too! The texture was unique and really good! Only complaint? We wish it could be open later for ice cream :) Give this place a try! We like to alternate between here and Nords because they both have unique things!

Open early for us overnight people which is a blessing ! Very clean, the man in the front was very nice didn't rush me as I stared at donuts for a minute tried a bunch and they are all amazing fresh and yummy 10/10 5 stars!Definitely recommend this place and very affordable

Best croissant I've EVER had. The croissant breakfast sandwich is so yummy. The donuts are delish! We can't wait to go back. So happy to have this place in the neighborhood! MUST TRY!

The doughnuts are delicious! Very fresh, great variety. They charge per "donut" vs per dozen, so maybe a bit more pricey than one would expect.
