Came here before a movie. Service was absolutely fantastic. Pam was attentive and hilarious! She gave great food recommendations. The environment was warm and inviting. Cocktails were delicious and so was the food. Definitely order the skillet cookie! We will be back!

This place is great. We got some drinks and played some Spades (bring your own cards if you want to play). The frozen coke was strong a delicious

Great English style pub/bar with typical menu of English pub foods (Bangers and Smash, London Bus Burger [two patties - the 'Double Decker' haha] cottage pie, etc), American sports bar foods (Philly cheese steak, nachos, burgers, wings, salads, etc.,), and eclectic mix of tacos, Gyros, and all things hummus. Go read the online menu to see the list Atmosphere was a proper and slightly dark pub feel with the requisite old looking wooden furniture, prominent bar, and a good list of on tap and bottled brews. Enjoyable, nice place to visit with friends over a meal.

These chain of British and English pubs around the North Metro Atlanta area have always been a treat. It's nice knowing you can find a dedicated place that'll serve Guinness on tap. Along with that, I always enjoy the English pub look and this place definitely lives up to what you'd expect. That old hardwood look all over and nice big bar counter. The bar tender was really kind and got my drink quickly and always made sure I was good. They were ready to provide suggestions on what was good and just plain made my experience great. Now, the food here was waaaay better than I expected. It's that, or I was just starving that day. I tried their Brunswick stew, and I have to say this was better than most dedicated BBQ place I've been to in recent memory. The bar tender even confirmed lots of others said the same thing, even though it's not her cup of tea. Next, I tried the bangers and mash and I enjoyed this hearty dish. The gravy covering the mash potatoes and the sausage was such an enjoyable treat. I was a bit sad after I finished it all cuz there was no more. I certainly look forward to coming back because grabbing a couple of beers here with a great meal is a perfect night for me. Regards to the chef and bar tender for a great night even despite it being a slower night. I'll definitely be back!

I’ve been coming to King George Tavern since they opened, 2 miles from my house, over 10 years ago. The staff here are hands down the best—kind, funny, and they truly care. They make the place feel like home. But the prices? Out of control. A shot of Jack Daniels Fire that used to be $7.50 is now $11. Jack Daniels is an American product—no tariffs, no reason for this kind of hike. It feels like regulars are being gouged simply because we like something. Instead of selling volume and keeping the community here, it’s turning into a place people can’t afford to enjoy. The staff makes this place great, but the ownership clearly doesn’t care about the community or its patrons. Sad to see a neighborhood spot get priced out of reach.

Was craving fish n chips due to my pregnancy so my sister and I waited for over an hour for them to open being as we live on the other side of town. Additionally, we have had their fish n chips before, and we wanted to indulge in something we hadn’t enjoyed in a while. Being a United Kingdom native, we were extremely excited to get a taste of home. Nevertheless, we received our food and the portion size was absolutely astonishing, the fish had little to no flavor, and there was literally no flakiness to the fish; almost as if they used a breading & not beer batter. I counted literally 10 French fries in my plate and went inside to make my complaint known to my server as I was astonished by the $17 price (including taxes) for food that would leave me hungry after consuming. The server adamantly said, that is our normal serving size that I’m sincerely reluctant to believe because that amount of food couldn’t even cover a basket if that’s what it was served in. I was disappointed behind measure. Not only did we spend a pretty penny to enjoy something we had been craving, after eating, we were starving from the kids sized meal that we had. Truly baffling!

Great local spot with an awesome atmosphere. The bartenders are fantastic, especially Pam—she’s got just the right amount of sass to keep things entertaining. The food is exactly what you’d expect from a good tavern, and the clientele makes for a great crowd. Only downside is the bathrooms—they definitely need some work. Fix that, and it’s a five-star spot!

Food was great! I ate here two nights in a row. The atsmophere is very reminiscent of an english pub, minus the typical uber sticky floor. The fish and chips were pretty decent. The meat loaf was awesome!

The King George Tavern is a great little local pub. Located across the street from the Kroger on Chamblee Dunwoody road just barely north of I-285. The parking lot is small and cramped, but it's plenty large enough for the size of the places. There is also a Subway and a Marcos Pizza so not much pressure from those places for parking spaces. This is a 5 Star review because it is 5 Stars for what it is meant to be...just a small local pub. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, check out some other 5 Stars reviews. The atmosphere is just local English Pub. It's super clean and a little brighter than some other local spots. You'll find a good menu with solid bar and pub food. Great daily lunch specials. TVs and two Golden Tee machines. There is a fairly large amount of regular Golden Tee players that hang out here. Sometimes me. It's not particularly loud. They have trivia one night a week for those who like that. Pam runs the place during the weekdays and she is awesome. Pam is a well known commodity in the local area. She takes good care of you, so take good care of her. Great local watering hole, plenty of TVs for sports, nice local crowd, solid food, and Golden Tee. What could go wrong? Stop on in for lunch or happy hour and you'll be glad you did.

This place is somewhere I'd maybe come back for a drink but not the food. Step inside and it has that old, English pub feel, with lots of dark wood and some British themed decor. We were the only folks sitting at a booth when we came in around 7 on a weeknight, although the bar had a number of customers. The bartender took our food order and it came out decently quick, but the food itself was just ok. My fish sandwich with mango salsa was alright, but that's about it. Tried a little of a chicken burger which was also just OK.

Might Be The Best Bar in Northern Atlanta Good for a late evening dining. The burgers are always good and you can get them made with beef, chicken or turkey and fixed a variety of ways. They also make a very good bean burger. It's definitely dark and pubby and seems old although it's new. We find the wait staff to be very attentive and pleasant. This is part of a small chain and we find the chef one step up from a sister restaurant. The menu reads like a newspaper and is interesting. Nice people, decent food, stiff drinks, and shots. Yikes - my husband ordered at the bar, and it took 45 mins for chicken and waffles takeout. Never ordered it before, but it's disappointing that the waffles are like eggo waffles. And they're fried?? Not in a good way like fried Oreos either. The waffles and tater tots were so incredibly oily that they're inedible. It's like the oil wasn't hot enough before they started frying. We used to come here so often, and the food was really good. Very disappointed:(.

Decent local pub with good food! We came here for trivia night (Thursdays at 8pm). Drinks were good - I tried their Moscow mule and the other vodka drink but I forgot the name. For appetizers, we ordered the jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. Both were delicious! I had the fish and chips but it was just okay. I'd try something else next time. The meatloaf dish was pretty good and huge but a tad bit salty. Shepards pie looked good. Green beans were perfect.

Nice local neighborhood bar. This bar is a part of the Dunwoody Restaurant Group so the menu is consistent with its other sister bars. The food here is affordable and really good. My favorites are the Lamb Wrap, the Chicken Tenders and the Corned Beef Egg Rolls. Pre-pandemic they had trivia nights. I'm not sure if they still do this but it was really fun. It was Adult Trivia so some of the questions were a bit raunchy. Definitely for adults only. Biggest Con is the music. Its always Rock or Country. I would like if they mixed in some top 40. Thats the only thing that keeps me from hanging out here longer. The drinks are made strong but not as affordable as some of the other bars in the area. I would recommend as a pre-game spot or a wind down at the end of the weekend.

I've been here several times through the years. Always have a good time! Staff is on point and friendly bartenders. The food is good pub fare and nice portions. I am not a beer drinker, so its mixed drinks for me. Ive always had a good mixed drink here with no complaints. We went in this last week for a charity event they had collecting donations for humane society. Live music, donations on display and a good turnout!! Will always recommend, will always return.

Stopped in here right before a show (Spamalot!) at the amazing Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center (that's another 5 star review !) . We were a little pressed for time but they got us in and out in a jiffy. Had an epic Philly cheesesteak, kielbasa slices grilled, and some corn beef rolls. All topped off with a Smithwyks and a Guinness. Service was great and ambience is old English pub vibe.

Lobster Grill Cheese BUSSIN!!! Sweet Potato fries 6/10 Irish Spring Rolls garbage!!! I wish the sweet potato fries was much better, flavor wasn't there and the fries was kind of dry.. I would not recommend the Irish spring rolls to nobody, not even a hungry hippo.

We ordered mushroom Swiss burger, French onion soup, homemade pies, and fried fish taco. Fish taco, burger, and onion soup were very good. I deduct one star because the homemade pies were not good. The pies looked like leftovers that didn't get microwave long enough because the middle is still cold. I spit it out so I didn't taste it but it also looked dry. They were able to replace it with fish taco and the waitress was diligent.

Cool pub where you can also enjoy drinks and food in a backyard setting. King George Tavern is located on Chamblee Dunwoody Road, just north of I-285 and across from the Kroger plaza that also houses Farm Burger. The parking lot is small, but it is adequate for a moderately busy weekend afternoon. Interior of the tavern feels like a European pub, while the outside of the tavern has lawn chairs and patio furniture that is comfortable for small to medium sized groups. The menus are printed to look like newspapers, which I thought was cool. Service is prompt and excellent both at the bar and at a table. On the Menu (Front Page News?): The menu has mostly traditional pub fare - sandwiches, burgers, and soups. There are a bunch of different salads, which include Cobb and salmon. More randomly, you can order fish tacos. What I Tried: Aberdeen Smoked Salmon Salad - Don't recall the exact price but the salad was around $10. The salad consisted of spinach, a lot of smoked salmon, a good amount of feta cheese, and diced red onions. I liked the abundance of fish in the salad, which had a good smoky flavor that was not too strong. At the same time, I think the salad could have been improved with more dressing. You could taste the dressing, but there wasn't enough to add a lot of flavor to the whole salad. Verdict: Four stars for decent food and great atmosphere. I'm always a fan of places where you can eat outside and enjoy good weather. The outside furniture is comfortable and the service is excellent - which in my opinion matters even more than the food when you're at a pub.

I purchase a discount coupon from LocalFlavor.com. My family of three took a chance and decide to try this restaurant. I was smaller then the pictures online. We found a booth. A waitress came to take our drink order. As she walked away I tried to show her the LocalFlavor.com coupon but she turned and said I don't need that now. She came back with the drinks and took our food order. I just started to take a sip of my drink and notice what I thought was a coaster. I could hardly read it because it was a dark booth. It said We do not accept Groupon and /or Local Flavor coupons. I asked the waitress about it she said she would talk to the manager. After our food came out the manager refused to accept my paid discount coupon. I think the fair thing to do would be to get out of this program and then grandfather any coupons already sold.

Amazing service and the food is actually very good!!! The best part of my experience was the bartender, she was amazing!

Went here for New Year Eve and had a great time. Great food, British beer on tap and a fun staff. Rang o the new year on London time with a live feed showing Big Ben.

My new local fave!! Great bartenders and great company! The full menu is finally back, and it appears the soups are pretty legit. I personally recommend the mozzarella sticks. If you're feeling fancy, ask them to toss them in hot sauce. :)

There tater tot's and lobster grilled cheese is really good. Their fries are all right. The sweet potato fries have no seasoning. The Philly cheesesteak has fake cheese sauce on it, it's gross. We tried the spring rolls, Irish, they were flavorless from the cabbage to the beef to the actual breading, no flavor! I will go here again for the lobster grilled cheese is what I recommend.

A solid, fun and friendly place with good food. We both tried the fish and chips and then had the cheesecake and the chocolate chip cookie a la mode. Everything was tasty and the bartender and chef were very nice. We plan to return.

I had a group of 24 that were in town for a training class and wanted somewhere close that we could do a "group dinner" at during our 4 day class. This establishment was perfect! Walking distance from the hotel and the perfect fit for our group. Smaller place so I did call the day before to see if they could accommodate our party and they had no issues with doing so. From the time we walked in until the time we left this place was spot on!!! The staff is fantastic. The food was perfect. I need to give a "shout out" to the two folks in the kitchen who never flinched a second and got the appetizers and main dishes out timely, tasty and very, very enjoyable! If you are looking for a cozy, neighborhood feel good place to grab a beer, some awesome pub (English/Irish) themed food in a cool pub like atmosphere.......this is the place to go and try. The staff and the scratch food made the customer experience an A+ and I will recommend them to anyone from my company who stays at the nearby hotel a must!

The King George Tavern is quite awesome. A very unique environment. Smoked Salmon Salad was really amazing, I wanted to order everything off their menu, but glad that I went for Smoked Salmon Salad. The crew was really pleasant and service is terrific. I 'd certainly return.

I love KGT. It's a cozy lil OTP bar with an amazing Asian Bleu Cheese Steak sandwich that I crave! It's just a drool-worthy masterpiece. The service has always been good and with the personality you'd expect from a "local" type of place. The crowd is a bit older and nice. I'm definitely a fan. They have a solid menu and good beer! I'd probably pass on the cocktails - unless you're not picky.

Reuben is delicious! Lobster grilled cheese is killer! Drinks are STIFF! Atmosphere is chill. Really cool place.

I can't say it enough! Love this place. Favorite spot to watch the Hawks game. Alicia, Dusty & Colby are my favorite bartenders! They never forget my drink of choice & Whenever I want to try a new drink, I know they will not disappoint! Bar is stocked with a great selection of liquors - I'm typically drinking vodka - Titos is always stocked!! Maintains is British pub identity throughout- from decor to menu its Brit legit ;) But my favorites are more of their classics; wedge salad, steak kabob tips (omg amazing!) Wednesdays are trivia - Soo much fun! The host is the sweetest most hilarious woman you will ever meet! Nice patio setup outside too! Soft couches and chairs. Perfect for spring & summer! Check them out!!

UberEATS review summed up: SANDWICHES! OH MY! We've ordered from The King George Tavern via UberEATS twice now. The first time we had a hiccough, and half of our order was missing- in a feat of amazing customer service, TKGT sent one of their own employees to deliver the missing parts to us. Things happen in restaurants, but it's how you correct them that makes all the difference. FOOD: Triple Dip- SUPER garlicky hummus (which I love), deliciously creamy goat cheese, and salty olive tapenade... This is a flavor and texture explosion in a dish. My husband and I both remarked on how surprised we were by how much we liked a "dip trio" dish, as usually you only really like one, or MAYBE two if you're lucky. Chicken and Waffle Croquettes- Unfortunately, I don't have another word to describe these other than "gross". The ground chicken is REALLY dry, and the maple dipping sauce is more like some sort of vinegary based sauce with maple flavoring. All together, it just didn't work, at all. We each ate one, and threw the rest away. Reuben- I have never really liked reubens, but now I crave them after having eaten them from here. The quality of their ingredients is on point. This sandwich is salty, slightly sour, savory, and ordered with a side of sweet potato fries, you get some sweetness in there too. Sweet Potato Fries- These don't travel well, but I am willing to bet when they are hot, that they are fantastic. The flavor is delicious. Asian Bleu Cheese Steak- This "Bleu" (ha, see what I did there) my husband's mind. The flavor on this sandwich is absolutely outstanding. He's still talking about it 2 weeks later. I had a bite, and I can attest to the deliciousness of this sandwich.

This has become my go-to bar in Dunwoody. The staff is exceptional, the beer variety is good, the food is solid, and you can always strike up a conversation with other patrons... Always. I've had most food items on the menu, and it's much better than other bar fare. Last time I got nachos with the house special hot sauce (only available upon request) and they were really good. Basically, if you're looking for poseurs, this is not the place for you. If you want an authentic neighborhood bar which is routinely frequented by Brits watching soccer on TV, where the bartender will remember your name AND your drink, where patrons at the bar will strike up a friendly conversation, you should visit King George Tavern.

King George Tavern is a little pub on Chamblee-Dunwoody, across the street from the Kroger and Farm Burger. Even though this review is about the King George Tavern in particular, it could apply more generally to most of the restaurants owned by the Dunwoody Restaurant Group. This is to say the Dunwoody Tavern, O'Brien's, The Royal Oak, The Ship and Anchor, the Bat and Ball and the Iron Horse tavern. While individual differences remain between each, they all share a similar, and in some cases, identical, menus. I'm writing a review about the King George Tavern because it was the most recent one of these restaurants I've visited. The pub has a nice, cozy feel to it and a friendly staff. It's the sort of place that you'd want to have a few beers on a cold, winter night. Also, King George's seems to be a bit more family-friendly than the average establishment known or the service of alcohol, so take that as you will, good or bad. Personally, I like my bars free of children but clearly not all parents would agree with me. The food is quite good, if you don't like bar food, and if you don't, then we can't be friends. The meat loaf with ground beef, Italian sausage, spinach leaves no room for complaints. Neither did the Buffalo Blue Burger, topped with Buffalo sauce and blue cheese and served with a side of sweet potato fries. As a bonus, I asked for my burger cooked medium, and it was actually cooked medium, and not medium rare or medium well. Incredible! In general, if you're not looking for some fancy-schmancy, farm-to-table, chef-inspired, organic food served in tiny portions at exorbitant prices that seem to be in the fashion these days, you should find something that will easily be to your liking at King George Tavern.

What a pleasant surprise to find this place next to our hotel and if your a beer lover and why wouldn't you be if your going to a English pub, you will really like this place. The food selection is extensive for a smaller place and everything my wife and I ate was good. The place is older, a little dark and decorated exactly the way I was hoping. However this is only a 4 star place if it wasn't for the service we got from the manager who waited on us. I was convinced he had to own the place as much as he really seemed to love his job. He was attentive yet not overbearing, made wonderful suggestions and really made our night a fun evening.

Ugh. You ever see the movie "At The World's End?" Basically the main characters are hitting all their old teenage stomping grounds 20 years later as society contributing adults. There is a scene where the guys have this Groundhog Day-type experience at one of their bars. I had the exact same experience at The King George Tavern. I didn't realize it was the same company that owned Dunwoody Tavern--and even though we really didn't enjoy our experience there, we thought we should be fair to their sister restaurant and give it a shot. Maybe at least for a couple beers and a few apps. That wasn't going to happen. We order two beers and one is incredibly flat--no carbonation at all. I wasn't in the mood to even bring it up to the bartender (who was very nice) already having come in with lower expectations. I love the "It's a pub people, not a 5-star chef inspired restaurant" comment from another reviewer. Yeah...well, a pub would at least be able to pour a proper pint. Dunwoody Restaurant Group just won't get anymore of my money.

I found it very disheartening that karaoke was canceled Friday evening. I barely get out, but it was always a good time. Sucks

I went into the King George Tavern yesterday. I made a special order and the bar tender, whose name escapes me, and the chef, Adam, went out of their way to accommodate me. The decor is homey and comfortable, the place is very clean, the service is top notch, and the food is superb. I highly recommend this place. One of the better spots in Dunwoody - worth a trip from ITP for the food, service, and ambiance!

Love the close proximity to my condo! It's a pub people, not a 5 star chef inspired restaurant. It is a part of Dunwoody Group restaurants and I believe they have the same menu as my longtime friend "Dunwoody Tavern" down the street. I appreciate the salt/vinegar crisps. The wings are tasty but not as consistent as I would like. I like the attentive bartenders but sometimes table service is slow if the place gets slammed. The place gets slammed often because it's cozy and new. The St. Patrick's day crowd was quite amusing and the place was festive and lively. They ran food specials that incorporated loads of corned beef. I did not understand why there were no drink specials on such a drink worthy day. I wish I could make the bar longer or knock a wall out to create more space because the popularity can make it feel very crowded. Nonetheless, I will remain loyal!

Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing live music. Makes you feel like a regular even during your first time. Sam and Kit are amazing. Good times all around!

What we got was good- Malt chips appetizer, Lobster, Brie, and Cream cheese grilled cheese, and fish and chips. Fish wasn't quite crispy, but it was good. The lobster brie and cream cheese was surprisingly good. And the side salad that I got to go with it was larger than most. Appetizer was also quite nice, some of the best we've had. We anticipate coming back to try the shepherds pie. One of the places I've seen it with lamb, which is authentic, versus ground beef which is not.

Another great pub from the Dunwoody Restaurant Group. Cozy English pub with a nice bar and a few booths. Great ale selection and very good food with the same menu as the other locations. Staff are excellent. A great addition to the neighbourhood.

Had someone steal my backpack when I was in the bar when I was outside smoking a cigarette, I was really pissed and the bartender wanted me to leave then threatened to call the cops when I was looking for my stuff. They didn't do anything about it, also called the restaurant group that manages it and they did nothing and didn't follow up. You don't treat customers like that period especially if a thief steals somebody's stuff, fuck these people

A delicious new neighborhood joint! My first and so far only experience with DWG at Bat and Ball was pretty good, though nothing amazing. But I was excited to try King George Tavern being that it's within walking distance of home. Service was very friendly; our server told us about the specials, what was good, popular, and what she enjoyed on the menu. Beverages were promptly refilled which is always important to me, and she checked on us regularly. Very friendly. We got the Irish spring rolls which were like a reuben egg roll. Good but not as good as those from Olde Blind Dog in Brookhaven or across the street at Goldbergs. We split the lobster grilled cheese with French onion soup and the meatloaf. The grilled cheese had plenty of lobster meat and was very rich and cheesy. The soup was also fantastic. Would definitely get both again. Meatloaf was delicious and very filling. Might look to try more on the menu before going back to it. We didn't have desserts but she described them to us and they sounded tempting. Atmosphere was nice and cozy with a good looking bar and plenty of tvs. Looking forward to returning!

Small spot, next to a massage place, Subway and Marco's. So we didn't expect much the first time we went, but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was really good, the service was fast and friendly, and the pub vibe/build out of the space was nicely done even also considering the tight quarters. We've added this place on our list of neighborhood eats. Each time we've been has been a consistent good experience.

Typical local dive bar with gastro pub menu. It's a smaller, more intimate bar that allows the staff more personal interaction which is great. There is a nice selection of beers on tap including some local selections from breweries in the Atlanta area. I ordered the shepherd pie, which came out quickly, but was just ok. I would recommend this place to come have a few drinks after a long day or to go out closer to home, but if you are looking for top notch food or cocktails I'd keep looking.

First time visit and the Mildew smell was unbearable. Also watching the bar tender dude with long red hair over serve some drunks was disturbing. He was serving a drunk group of people drinks at the bar and we watching them literally stumble out to their car and drive away. Scary.

We like KGT from a bar perspective- servers are great and beer is cold! The food is where my rating comes from, twice now and my opinion is the same. Skip the food (even the fries), and drink the beer. The fried food is especially bad as it's essentially just overly deep fried batter. We will continue to come here for drinks, but will no longer order food from here.

Friend and I saw this place and in a whim have it a try. It is a definite no frills bar type place but don't let that fool you, the food is fantastic. The drinks are excellent, the servers are friendly and everything comes out quick but you are not rushed. Sadly I probably won't get to eat here again, but I highly suggest it if you are close.

They are way over pricy and seriously do not deliver on the food as expected from a place that refers to itself as an English pub.

Great friendly neighborhood tavern. They made me feel like I have been hanging there all my adult life. You must try the Rueben! It's probably one of the best or best I ever had. Stay away from the "Irish steak and cheese" Unless you don't care that's it's corn beef and not steak.

This restaurant, along with the other Dunwoody Group properties, fulfills a hole in this locale. We were staying in a nearby hotel and decided to give it a try. We used to be regulars at Dunwoody Tavern. This restaurant is quite small but the service was quick and very personable. It was a cold wintery day so we had the Shepherd's Pie and the Irish Stew. Both were stick-to-the-bones good and delicious. If we are in this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in again.

We were in town for a convention and stopped by for a quick lunch. Ended down up enjoying it so much we went back that same night. It's definitely an upgrade from standard bar food, I had seared tuna Asian tacos delish! And the lobster Grilled cheese which was just "good" not great. My fiancé had the Dunwoody doozie and a French dip and loved both. The atmosphere here is what got us to come back. At lunch we watched the bar stools fill up and everyone that walked in way greeted by name from the bartender and everyone was super friendly. Several reviews stated the servers were rude, while everyone we encountered was fantastic.

We just moved to the area and were on the mission of looking for a new "neighborhood" bar-you know, the kind you walk in to on a Tuesday night or Sunday morning and it still feels the same. King George did not disappoint. It is a pub, but it's worth mentioning that the food is far from typical pub food. We had baked Brie and the lamb kebabs. Lamb was at the right temp and delightful! They also had live music which is a nice touch. Dusty the bartender is great, and we will definitely be back!
