Freddy Zeideia’s Palestinian falafel and shawarma earned a Vendy Award and an enduring following. Eater notes the original cart’s Midtown rounds; crispy oval falafel and fresh pita keep it a staple for office‑hour lunches.

Presented with Very warm welcoming staff with a fresh crispy Falafel on the start. I ordered chicken over rice with salad No doubt salad was fresh and white sauce made it awesome in tasty but chicken wasn’t cook well. Could be better but over all joyful experience .

Google
Literally the bes in the US. I cam here years ago and searched all over NY to gind them again. If you like a mix of food, their Shawfel is a must have. Great prople too!

If you’re a tourist hunting for a quick, affordable halal meal, look no further—this place has you covered. The $12 gyro platter is hands down one of the best deals you’ll find. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the rice is perfectly cooked, and the salads and sauces just tie it all together in the best way possible. It’s filling, tasty, and easy on the wallet. Locals, you’re seriously lucky to have this spot in your neighborhood. Everything on the platter is fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell they put care into making sure each part of the meal hits just right. Whether you're a visitor or a regular, this is the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to.

Google
5/5 Stars! I've had the pleasure of trying some of the best cuisine around, but this place truly stands out! The flavors, the quality, and the presentation all exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend trying the Lamb over Rice and the Falafel - both dishes were incredibly delicious! I'm still wondering why this gem doesn't have a chain of restaurants! If you haven't tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and give it a shot. You won't regret it! The food here is a must-try for anyone who loves great cuisine.

Google
The flavor of the falafel, chicken and other ingredients all taste good, but the sauce both red and white doesn’t taste good and doesn’t go well with the meal. I also wish they had hummus.

Google
The rumors were true. You get a falafel while you wait on line. It was really good. Big pieces, as the reviewer says below, the falafel was very crunchy. I also like how it was cylindrical and not round balls. This was Baes recommendation after an afternoon walking in Central Park watching the sun go down. I got the chicken Sharma sandwhich. Just a little spicey and my head is sweaming, eyes tearing, nose running. What a cleansing. No where to sit. The stone benches have fences around them. Pro tip, head across the street for a table in the indoor public space. Wow. That was really good. Stomach full. No more food for me tonight. I feel satisfied. Staff was really friendly. I will come back again.

This place has insane falafels! Their pita is fresh and tahini and red sauce are homemade and delish! Their portions are generous and today they were handing out a free sample falafel. Of course, you get your food and eat it across the street by the fountain in front of an office building but that added to the charm too. A couple of suggestions: keep pouring ice over your drinks to keep them cold and more Kerry’s in your salad and less onions. Thanks .

Google
Passing by a few times and finally today I tried their chicken platter. So glad I did! Chicken is juicy, fresh salad, balance with rice. Since it is my first time I ask for a bit of all sauces. All pretty good. Hot sauce is indeed hot though, thank goodness I can take a hit 😉. Not sure if a falafel is part of the order but he did give me one. It was cold but still pretty good. I can imagine how good it will be if it is warm. $10 and they take credit card. A nice lunch choice. Compare to other food trucks around. I would think this is a better choice.

Yelp
The personal touches make this place feel like a discovery. Every dish I've ordered was flavorful. Staff members are well-trained on menu items and deliver top service. They execute their concept perfectly. This spot delivers outstanding service.

Yelp
Ordered on GrubHub for delivery. Portion size used to be wayyyy bigger. I paid for extra white sauces and also requested both platters come with extra white sauce. Mine came without any and all white sauce on the side??? Note: read google reviews. The owner is antisemitic and also curses people out for bad reviews. Wild.

Yelp
My limited exposure to halal style food led me here. I heard they were voted one of the best in NYC and I can definitely see why. They were generous with the serving and friendly. The falafels & vegetables were fresh and the meat was tender and flavorful. I loved the spice of the sauces and was definitely a highlight of my NYC food tour.

Yelp
Quick efficient and spot on what a wonderful friendly place on 53rd and Park to come to the two gentlemen are real craftsman of their trade. They handed out some of the best falafel I've ever eaten as samples crisp on the outside soft in the inside no bitter taste like mama just made them back in the old country. I had the Shawarma with hot sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles just wonderful about a half pound meat. It was the best it was beef Shawarma that tasted like elegant brisket. The other one was the platter with white sauce and red sauce. It was so good. It was evaporated and less than 30 seconds no heavy feeling afterwards it was a true delight as if it was a gourmet restaurant, but there were no tables good thing we had to delivery truck so we could eat it inside where it's nice and warm. You will see from the photos if I can download them That this is the place to go just amazing. Plenty of napkins yes they have sodas and drinks come and check it out. You will be very good in having something to delightfully eat from a truck that is clean as a whistle.

Yelp
11/10. Just had the vegan falafel sandwich. Amazing. Falafel is my favorite food & im picky about it. The crunch was right on, the pickles, tahini...oh my god. The guy working was so friendly, even handed us a couple falafels just to try before we even ordered.

Yelp
I hate giving it three stars but honestly I feel like it's appropriate. I'll start off with the hood. The guys who make the food are really nice. They'll pop out the truck and give everyone on line a free falafel. Speaking of, their falafel is probably the best I've ever had. It's huge and delicious. I would honestly go back and just buy the falafel. As for everything else, I had the Omar platter. Which is mixed chicken and beef shawarma with sautéed peppers and onions. I had them put basmati rice. The meat itself was rather dry I thought. To me, a good halal spot is dependent on their meat. This was far from the best meat I've had. As I've said, I thought it was dry and not very good. It wasn't disgusting, I could eat here again but I wasn't fan. The seasoning wasn't much either. The rice was just filler. At $12 and line I had higher expectations. Falafel was divine though.

Yelp
Great falafel, amazing tahini, fresh pita. Friendly, fast and over the top service. Highly recommend!

Yelp
There are so many things I like about this food truck, first of all they use chicken thighs for chicken shawarma. For me, it's dark meat over white meat any day, the chicken is so juicy and flavorful! The white sauce is just perfect too. Portion is huge, the amount of meat they give you is amazing. I have been there twice now, both times I had almost half a platter left to take home for later. Lastly I also like that they take apple pay, most food trucks in the area only takes cash, but this food truck takes cash, card, and mobile, so much more convenient (and they don't have the suggested 15% tip on the screen lol)!

Yelp
My coworkers were raving about this food cart. I had to check it out as nowadays, I hardly eat out in the city and check out a food cart too. I went there and expected great service, long lines and great food. I did get it all! The line wasn't too long, the wait was well worth it since they let you sample a falafel. It went fairly quickly too. I didn't know what to order but since I heard that their swarmah was the best I ordered the mixed platter. They give you one piece of falafel with the meal. Also ask if you want it spicy and I never say no to spice. It definitely wasn't spicy enough, but still fairly good!
google avatar

Shalisha A.

Yelp
Service is amazing. The line was long, so one of the owners came out and gave us free samples of falafel. They are incredibly delicious. I ordered the falafel platter. That came with salad, rice and oval shaped falafels. The price is reasonable too - only $10. I love it.

Pericles L.

Yelp
Had a falafel sandwich with everything. Delicious! Today they are located on E. 53rd St. and Park Avenue.. highly recommend when you need something quick and tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered the freddy junior (beef/chicken combo) bowl First off, thought it was cool that they gave out falafel samples. They're surprisingly not dry which is a first in my experience of having other falafels The portions and meat itself were pretty lackluster. For its price and size, the value isnt there. The meat was also missing its signature char which usually makes it particularly worthwhile Sauce was unremarkable Salad was interesting in that it had a variety of veggies (onion, tomato, pickle, etc) that made it more unique than most other food trucks All in all, worth retrying at some point from my pov but not an immediate favorite for sure
google avatar

Yelp
The food is fine but please do not take bill and food with the same hand although wearing a glove.
google avatar

Sherron T.

Yelp
I can see why they are the king of falafel! Came here one day for a quick meal and got the Ashley Bowl since I did not want any rice. The chefs were really kind, made the food quickly, and even offered me a free falafel. They stuffed my bowl with a lot of meat and was a good food truck value for ~$14. There was gyro, chicken, and falafel in one bowl. The red sauce was pretty spicy so do watch out, but check this halal truck out for a quick pick me up.

Yelp
Well-loved the food truck on Ditmars Blvd. This is a local favorite in the area and one of the best food trucks around in Astoria. I visited the truck at the end of June for a snack and found that their dishes were very tasty. I will be back!

David D.

Yelp
The food was just ok. Nothing more nothing else. Had better falafel at the street carts. Service poor. Very urgent and unfriendly. My advice, eat somewhere else. They are not going to see my face again.
google avatar

Toni P.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the service is amazing. I love that they give you a sample while you're waiting and the ambiance is great the guys are very nice and friendly. This is definitely the best food truck to go check out. I have been on a vegan diet for a while so I happy that this truck is located near my job. So yummy and delicious also sometimes I have leftover food for dinner
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
stupid good ... flavorful, really good pita, and the pickled sides in the falafel sandwich and beef shawarma were amazing. A heaping pita for under $10? Worth the detour. Will come by again.
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
Had this place bookmarked forever and it didn't disappoint -- the Omar (extra spicy) was really outstanding, and I got a few extra falafel, which were great as well. Definitely will be back here.
google avatar

Shirley W.

Yelp
Plenty of food trucks in the area, and there is always a line for this one. Finally decided to try it yesterday and wasn't disappointed. The guys are all super nice and friendly. When you wait in line, you get a free falafel. It was crispy and flavorful for sure, but falafels aren't really my thing. I got the beef shawarma sandwich and it was loaded! Had quite a hard time eating it without being a slob, but completely worth it. Only $7 too!

Tal L.

Yelp
Worst falafel. Had bad stomach reaction for 2 days. Called and never got a proper response.

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
best halal cart in nyc! their food is really good quality, and they are very friendly. they usually give a piece of falafel to try while you wait too ~ typically, i get the chicken platter with their white sauce and it hits every time. it's also super quick so if im in a hurry this is my go-to. the price is reasonable, around $10 and they have good portion 10/10! definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
Great food for $10.00. I ordered the chicken w/rice & salad. While waiting on line with a group of other customers, one of the guys in the truck starts to hand out free falafel samples. Talk about not playing fair at all. Not only is the falafel delicious, crispy and warm, but it keeps you waiting in line because you anticipate that your dish will be just as delicious. AND IT WILL BE. These guys know what they are doing. The salad that accompanied my dish was no plain lettuce and tomato salad. No sir. These guys make a very tasty salad with pickled veggies that goes quite well with the richness of this dish. This is definitely a very well-balanced & economical dish. You will not leave here hungry and your palate will thank ME and YOU. Well worth the wait in line.
google avatar

Ash M.

Yelp
One of the best falafel sandwich I had. With soda it was just $10. The owner was generous enough to give two fresh off the fryer falafel while I was waiting.
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
An award-winning food cart in Manhattan and for good reason! Worth the long wait in line, which can get pretty hefty during peak weekday lunchtime. Normally customer service isn't a notable trait from a city food truck. During long (and often cold) days in line, they'll have one of their guys pass along fresh and FREE falafel. Pretty smart marketing by the look (and smell) of it!
google avatar

Ty H.

Yelp
Wow. I've tried a lot of falafel in my life. I also spent a lot of time in the Middle East traveling and even spent three months living in Cairo Egypt. But I have never had a falafel sandwich as good as the one I got from this place. The right level of crunchy the right level of moisture bursting with flavor great spiciness. If I could give them more than five stars I would. Eight dollars. You can't beat it. Emma service was great. In fact when I rolled up on my bike, he gave me a falafel to try!!. Winner winner, chicken dinner!!!
google avatar

Abdus A.

Yelp
One of my favorite halal carts ever. The monstrous platter size and the flavorful meet has me coming here 4 times a week. The lines get large depending on the time of day you go, but fear not you most likely will be given a complimentary falafel for you to munch on while you wait. I usually get the beef and chicken mix. You can easily share with 2 people. It's a little more expensive than your neighboring Rafiqi's carts, but at $9 it's still a steal.
google avatar

John Z.

Yelp
Have come here a few times. Food is always awesome, portions are massive, they never skimp on the meat, and the flavors are delicious. Can't really say anything negative about them other than the prices are a buck or two more than your average cart but so worth it
google avatar

Ciara V.

Yelp
This is truly one of the best Mediterranean spots I've found! After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give it a try, and as stated by others in previous reviews, I was given free falafel while waiting in line, and WOW. The falafel was super crispy and so flavorful, it possibly was the best falafel I've had in New York. After trying the falafel though, I was super torn between the Ashley and the falafel platter, but decided to go with the Ashley, and I was given ANOTHER free falafel. This spot is definitely a 10/10, everything I had was amazing, the people worki the cart were super friendly, and I don't even live in the city, but I would definitely make the hour long trip just to eat more!!
google avatar

Alin C.

Yelp
Food carts to me could either be the best you had or could be the worst. This food cart is on the awesome end. Let me start off by saying the falafel is very delicious. They make them more of an elongated shape rather than your traditional round ball shape (I don't mind what shape it is, as long as they taste good). Shawarmas are very delicious too. As well as their chicken and rice. They make traditional pilaf rather than the typical orange rice that other carts use. I suggest you get there early though, the shawarma sells out very quickly. They're just that good.

T D.

Yelp
Stopped by on 53rd & Park. Best beef shawarma sandwich I've ever had! Everyone was really nice too. Will be back to try the falafel and chicken.
google avatar

Junaid N.

Yelp
First time in the big apple so I have to visit a shawerma cart. The gyros dandwich was really quite good with both hot and white sauce. Others in my party ordered the gyros overbrice, which they complained of being a little dry. Otherwise fantastic food!
google avatar

Molly F.

Yelp
Don't underestimate this street cart -- it's a legend for a reason. The falafel sandwich is delicious, only $6 and completely vegan. I order mine with tahini, a little bit of hot sauce and all the veggies (iceberg lettuce, red onion, pickled turnips and regular middle eastern style pickles). The customer service is exceptional: the guys are so friendly and always give you a free falafel ball, fresh out of the fryer, while you wait in line. If you want to live a happy life, add King of Falafel to your lunch rotation.
google avatar

Destiny H.

Yelp
Awesome staff. Everyone from my job always gets this spot for lunch. While waiting for your food they offer you free falafel. The falafel was cooked to perfection with the food crispy coating. You can smell the food from a block away. Definitely great for lunch if your in the Midtown area.
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
I've finally found a Falafel that I've fallen in love with! These guys are the best! Since moving to NY I've been so afraid to eat street food but It kept calling my name, when you see folks lined up for food that's always a sign that it's legit!!! My go to for last few visits have been the chicken shawarma platter with rice and salad / extra white sauce and spicy sauce with a side of falafel!!! A side of falafel consist of 4 pieces for $2.....somebody take the wheel because I'll do 50mph in a 20 to get to this place a few times a week! The portions are great and prices are sexxyy, no need to go broke for lunch! Great food, awesome service and great prices
google avatar

Vivianne M.

Yelp
Had an amazing shawfel i think it's called. Guys working we're super nice.Definitely recommend food was fresh and tasted amazing i even saved some of my shawfel for breakfast the next morning and still tasted super good.

N G.

Yelp
The Midtown location - more years than I care to say. The best. Always a free nibble while waiting on line.

Gina K.

Yelp
so yummy! The give samples as you pass by of falafels. Got me hooked. delicious. Combo!
google avatar

Sallie D.

Yelp
Hands down the most delicious way to satisfy a no-carb diet in this neighborhood. After trying a few different things, I've settled on the Kefta Platter with salad and no rice, white sauce on top and red sauce on the side, no falafel. The ground beef (I hope it's beef) is deliciously spiced, and their pickled turnip is on point. This is a GREAT DEAL for $10. I found the beef shawarma to be a little fatty and the chicken shawarma to be a little too gamey for me. Falafel is good if you're not carb-averse. Usually a line but line moves fast enough.
google avatar

Raymundo G.

Yelp
Best falafel in the city, no question. If you find a better falafel spot, let me know and if its true I'll venmo you 100$ on the spot. Their falafel is crispy, tasty and the staff is super friendly. Great food always comes from people with good energy and this place definitely proves that. I went out of my way to visit this cart and I was not disappointed in the least. This place puts other halal carts to shame. 5/5 stars EASY

Vishnu S.

Yelp
Amazing guy, let's you try the falafel before you buy it to know it's on point as well!

Alex W.

Yelp
Great falafels and the food is always fresh. It's easy to pick up and they have the best falafel sandwiches.
google avatar

Nelson K.

Yelp
Best Falafel platter in NYC, seasoned falafel with rice, pickled veggies and Fresh veggies. They will give you a sample falafel while you wait on line!
google avatar

Rajeev L.

Yelp
Very good value for the money! They give you a falafel sample while you are waiting and load up your platter with food. Service was quick and friendly, which is what you want at lunch time.

Victor S.

Yelp
Generous portions for the right price. Food is excellent.
google avatar

Zahid A.

Yelp
Super nice people and the food is also great. The falafel I'd bet is probably one of the best if not the best on queens. Can't ask for more!
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
No longer work nearby but was in the neighborhood and saw the truck so I went for it. Good value and generous portions (and they give a taste of falafel as you wait) the red sauce is nice and spicy and the pickled condiments great accompaniments. Other offerings are popular, but I can't get away from the simplicity and taste of the falafel sandwich
google avatar

Christopher L.

Yelp
Have been craving my food cart combination over rice the last few weeks. Given the weird overnight hours of Adel's and my feeling that Halal Guys is kinda riding on its reputation at this point, my fellow Yelpers directed me to King of Falafel. Got the Omar Special Platter (mixed meat over rice). Big portions, fresh vegetables and yummy white sauce. This is my new go to daytime spot. I was also given a piece of falafel to eat while waiting and I gotta say, I'm not a falafel guy but this was hella good. Like good enough for me to order next time. Crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with the right amount of spice.
