King of Noodles

The textures of everything we ordered is what stood out about King of Noodles. Plus their house hot sauce too! We ordered the cucumbers, the lamb and cabbage dumplings, the XO noodles with chicken, and the Dan Dan noodles - figuring to try a variety. For the Dan Dan noodles: remember to mix it! The minced meat was deliciously flavorful. For the XO noodles, their flat wider noodles were nicely chewy while being oily but not egregious like at some other places. The cucumbers are familiar to fans of cold sauces cucumbers like from Din Tai Feng or Sichuan restaurants: a garlicky, cool, sweet-savory flavor with a nice smooth crunch. And the dumplings impressed me with the texture of their skin. Chewy without being overly thick. The house hot sauce is nice. It reminds me of habanero-type sauces but thankfully not like the vinegar-heavy types. I tasted an initial light heat and strong flavor, but the intensity of the heat actually builds as you eat more of it until your tongue is suddenly burning and your face starting to break a sweat! All in all, we really liked it and would come again. Thanks!

Came here on Tuesday at 5pm. No waiting for a table plenty of seats available. Went straight for the spicy beef noodle soup, got a non-spicy version as well, pork & corn dumplings and cucumber appetizer. The spicy beef was 💋 numbing. Lol. My kind of style. Dumplings have a thin wrapper which is great and very flavorful. Cucumber appetizer was delicious and cooling. Nice hole in the wall place that SF has hidden away in the Sunset District.

Absolutely do NOT come to this restaurant. It is overpriced and completely unauthentic. They call themselves the “King of Noodle,” but the experience was nothing like real Chinese food. Shockingly, the chef is not even Chinese — he’s Mexican — and the noodles I ordered were actually sweet. I am from China, and in all my life I have never had noodles with sugar in them. I even asked the server if they made a mistake, and she replied that “it’s supposed to have sugar.” That is absurd. The dish was neither authentic nor enjoyable — just a confusing, poorly executed imitation. If you really want to run a successful Chinese restaurant, hire professional Chinese chefs who understand the cuisine, not someone who creates a strange, inauthentic version that insults customers. For the price they charge and the lack of authenticity, this place is unacceptable. Please be aware before wasting your money here.

Ordered farmer’s cucumbers to share, so tasty! I ordered the beef noodle soup with fresh pulled noodles. The flavor was great but the meat was heavy on the fat/skin which I don’t typically consume. Other order was seafood fried rice which was delicious and we ended it with mango sago, which was a miss for me. I’ve had it many other times and it was lacking mango pieces and tapioca amounts.

The name is so fitting! King of noods indeed! I was in SF for some work stuff and had to go there twice because it was that good ! The beef chow fun was the right balance of onions, noods, and meat! The meat was also super tender 😍 The cold beef tendons were really yummy too! Next time, I need to try some of the greens and heard the dumplings were also very good! The service was impeccable - the two young gentlemen did an excellent job managing a relatively busy / small place! Overall highly recommend!

Good dumplings. We got the spicy pork and chive dumplings. The chive was a little more than the meat in the dumplings but overall quite good. Also got the dan dan noodles, which I prefer with a little more sichuan peppers and spicier but this was quite good. The onion pancakes were crispy and less oily than other places so overall quite good. The service was quick and efficient.

Awesome hole in the wall asian restaurant. Dumplings are good, we got the fish and chives. Soft and chewy, very standard dumplings. Comes with vinegar dipping sauce Servings for noodles are MASSIVE. Portions are great and the pricing is awesome. Around $12 bowls for soup and $12 for dumplings (12 pieces) Here's the thing about the noodles. I prefer my noodles a bit chewy, the wide flat noodles are too soft for me but good. If you like a little chew in your noodles go for fresh noodles. Personally felt like the soup could have used a bit of salt. Service is great! Attentive and quick. Good overall experience, great hole in the wall feel.

a cute spot with good service & cheap eats! came in with a large group but were seated immediately at 6pm on a sunday night. we got the xiaolongbao and green beans to share-- the soup dumplings had good flavor in the skin, but the skin was a bit thick for my preference. the green beans were very flavorful with a soy / black bean sauce, which the whole table enjoyed. i got the spicy beef noodle soup and i'm glad i did -- for less than $13, you get a GIANT bowl of noodle soup with chewy, fresh noodles & super flavorful broth. it was chock-full of meat as well. while it looks intimidating, the spice level was great. highly recommend!

I had been hyped up for this place for years and I have ate a lot of ramen from all over the U.S. I unfortunately was disappointed with the taste which did not blow me away and they gave me a smaller bowl than the ones I seen from the YouTube videos. So price was not acceptable for what I got. Got two pieces of thin pork, ramen did not come hot but came warm. I came at around 8pm and it was busy. I'm glad I got this out of the way and won't ever be wondering if I had missed out on it.

Wanted to try a new spot, the name caught my attention because I love noodles! But I was quite underwhelmed. The dishes really lacked salt and flavoring. The soup dumplings had a similar look and taste of the frozen store bought ones. It had no umami taste and even the vinegar didn't help much. The wonton noodle soup with fresh noodles was way off. The broth was not the traditional wonton soup. It was more like a watered down bone broth. The whole dish just had no taste, I tried to use my vinegar and hot sauce to spice it up. The best dish was the XO chow mein with beef, but even that wasn't great. The beef had really over seared hard edges which made it hard to eat. I am bummed as I was hoping to find a new spot to frequent. The service was fast and friendly though.

One of my fav spots for Chinese food in the city! King of Noodles have some of the best beef noodles in the bay in my opinion. The broth is so flavorful and loaded with Szechuan spices. Their dumplings are also phenomenal and everything tastes so fresh! Always recommended to friends and family!

This was our lunch stop during our SF cross town hike and we made the best decision. The wait for us 7 folks wasn't too bad. The restaurant is small so I can imaging wait being long during peak business hours. The service was excellent! I ordered the chow fun and my friends got the bean sprouts and some other vegetable to share. Typically I don't like vegetables if they're not seasoned well but that was not a problem here! Such a delicious meal!

We've been on the hunt for great pork dumplings in the city, and The King of Noodles came recommended by a few--definitely worth the visit. The spicy green onion pancake was flaky and not overly greasy, a solid start to the meal. The pork and chive dumplings had a nice thin skin and good flavor, though I found the chives a bit overpowering compared to the meat. The Dan Dan noodles had great texture and came in a generous portion, but I missed the classic Sichuan pepper kick--they leaned more savory than spicy. Still, a cozy, no-frills spot with a menu I'd love to explore more.

We came to King of Noodle in a group of 3 on a Monday night around 7pm and were seated promptly. It's larger inside than it looks from outside, and we were immediately given a teapot for the table. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($12.95): this actually comes with a bit of a spicy kick - nothing unbearable, but I'm used to "Spicy" Beef Noodle soup not being spicy at all, so this was a pleasant surprise. There was a generous amount of QQ noodles, and tender beef. The soup was flavorful, and I'd say this is one of the better beef noodle soups I've had in SF. Pork w/Napa Cabbage Dumplings (12 for $11.95): we got this to share, and it's a pretty standard dumpling. Pretty affordable, but nothing spectacular. Bean Paste w/Dry Noodles (Pork, $13.45): this was my friends and I tried a bit; the pork was very tender, and the sauce was flavorful. I do wish there was either more cucumber, or that the cucumber was cut thicker so that there would be more crunch. Overall, this is a solid noodle place, and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a comforting bowl. The prices are super reasonable and everything is quite flavorful.

My friend ordered us some food through DoorDash before we headed out to the festival. Portion size for everything was fairly priced. I got the spicy chili oil dumplings, which was so tasty! I was actually impressed. The perfect amount of chili oil and the meat was seasoned well. I would come back to try some other dishes as well.

King of Noodles has a cozy atmosphere, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. We were seated instantly and served hot tea, which was a nice touch. One cool aspect is that their dumplings are made fresh daily by Yummy Dumpling nearby. They also have some cool merch for sale, and you can purchase their dumplings from a freezer in the dining room to try at home. My friend and I ordered what the restaurant crowned as popular to get a sense of their best dishes. Unfortunately, the chow fun was sold out, so we went with the XO chow mein with beef instead. While I could tell they use fresh ingredients and locally sourced noodles, the dish itself was very bland. There was no wok hei in the stir-fry, making the noodles taste flat and uninspired. The beef stew also had good ingredients, but the broth was only lukewarm and lacked depth of flavor. Even the hot sauce on the table didn't do much to elevate the dishes, which aligns with other reviews mentioning that something is missing. The biggest disappointment was the dumplings. The filling lacked flavor and tasted watery, likely due to improper sealing, which allowed water to seep in, or they were simply overcooked. On the bright side, the beef pancake rolls were the highlight of the meal. The hoisin sauce complemented the beef and fresh veggies well, and the scallion pancake had multiple layers, making it a delightful bite. Overall, the service was excellent--friendly, fast, and welcoming--but the execution of the dishes didn't match the quality of the ingredients. Maybe it was just an off day, but unfortunately, most of the meal fell short.

Solid spot. Got the salted pepper fried chicken, and I maybe kinda liked them better than San Tung's dry wing. Yes it's a different flavor/style but it's still a chicken wing. Would absolutely get the salted pepper fried chicken again. Also got a pork shrimp wonton soup which was nicely flavored. I enjoyed the broth especially in the cold dampness of the Sunset. Also got a beef roll pancake. I think I waited too long to eat it because it had cooled down and the scallion pancake was a bit too soft. Might've liked it better if I'd eaten it while hot. Also got a mango sago which was tasty. A large portion size too. I think you can buy frozen dumplings across the street too. Good stuff.

My dad was craving beef stew noodle soup, so I found this spot for us to try. Parking can be tricky, especially around dinner time, so you might have to walk a few blocks if you're unlucky. We ordered the beef stew noodle soup, spicy beef noodle soup, green onion pancakes, and chicken & corn dumplings. Both noodle soups were tasty, not overly salty or heavy on MSG. The spicy beef noodle soup packed a solid heat level - I'd rate it 5/6 out of 10. The green onion pancakes were crisp and flavorful, but the chicken & corn dumplings were disappointing; the unsweetened corn left them tasting bland. On the bright side, the spicy orange dipping sauce on each table was super fiery! Service was fast, thanks to the restaurant's small size. While the interior is a bit dated, it adds to the authentic vibe they're going for.

The food was very good. The homemade noodles were fresh, and the beef was delicious and tender. It was served with their homemade hot sauce, which was out of this world. The soup was light and very flavorful. We ordered the pig ears, which were very friendly, cold, and refreshing. They had some really nice kicks to them. The service was fast and efficient. They gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. The vibe was very pleasant and welcoming.

came on a Wednesday night around 7:45pm (they close at 8:30pm) and it was almost full. there was only one server throughout but things weren't slow. food wise, we tried: 1. beef roll pancake ($10.95): the flavor was good and if you like thick dough you'd like it. unfortunately it was served pretty cold and getting soggy 2. bean paste & pork dry noodles ($13.45): noodles had a nice bouncy texture but I wish there was more sauce/meat to match the amount of noodles 3. pork & shrimp wanton rice noodle soup ($12.95): reminds me of sick comfort food, pretty plain soup and noodles but definitely healthy. the dumplings were good though

Great little place with fast, friendly service and hot tasty food. We tried the soup dumplings and an order of XO chow mein which were both delish. BF was still hungry so we ordered some pork and shrimp dumplings as well and they were good but I preferred the soup dumplings, as I felt there was more flavor. Lots of good looking dishes though so I'm sure we will be back and metered parking was not too difficult at a later weekend lunch time.

The salted pepper tofu appetizer comes scalding hot and comprises extra-soft tofu. It, nevertheless, maintains its structure competently. What are also competent is the pork dill dumplings. Not much to say there. The beef in the various noodle soups is really soft; good. The noodles themselves are also relatively thick and bouncy, being good representatives of northern cuisine. Nothing to complain about there; however, the Sichuan noodles are not so. There is no peppercorn, no mala. The spice comes from chilis pickled in a vinegar solution; that does not Sichuan make.

We came here for lunch today since it was recommended by a friend who lives in the nearby neighborhood. The place is small and cozy and casual hole in the wall. The waitress was nice and friendly and sat us right away. She was nice and attentive throughout the meal and came to refill our waters many times. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all really good. We added farmers cucumber and green onion pancakes for appetizers. Cucumbers had great flavor and crunch and a lot garlic throughout which I loved. The green onion pancake was fresh and great crisp in texture. We also got beef noodle soup, XO chow mein, Pork and chive dumplings and Xiao long baos. The noodles were very great chew and delicious broth. Beef was tender and flavorful. The XO chow mein was good too but a tad oily. Pork and chive dumplings were good flavor but needed more chives. I barely got any chive flavor. And xiao long baos were decent but not the best I've had. Overall the meal was delicious and hit the spot of what i was looking for. Great meal for a casual weekend lunch or dinner. Would recommend and will come back when im in the area again

My family and I used to come here, but haven't been here in a while. We decided to stop by for lunch after checking out the dahlia show at Golden Gate Park. There were new decorations inside and the menu looked brand new. We shared these items: 羊肉汤面 Lamb Noodle Soup ($13.95): This was one of our go-to items, and once I tasted it I knew it was the same recipe. +Tender chunks of lamb +Long, chewy noodles that tasted homemade: They are hard to pick up but using the ladle helps. +Vegetables were crispy and not overcooked. +Broth was nicely spiced and not too salty. 牛腩面 Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($13.45): Since my dad doesn't eat lamb, we also ordered this. +Tender chunks of beef along with tendon and shiitake mushroom slices +Long, chewy noodles that tasted homemade: They are hard to pick up but using the ladle helps. +Vegetables were crispy and not overcooked. +Broth was nicely spiced and not too salty. 拍黄瓜 Farmer's Cucumber ($7.95): After seeing the table next to us order this, we decided to add this. +Fresh, crunchy cucumber chunks -Not marinated long enough as the chunks were still kinda bland 牛肉馅饼 Beef Pancake ($10.95): This used to be one of our go-to items, but we were disappointed upon seeing and tasting it. -The pancake appeared to be fried for too long, and it was hard to bite. -There was barely any beef filling. In the past, the Beef Pancake had a flaky, crispy exterior and a juicy beef filling. *Verdict: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.0 I appreciate how free hot tea was provided. However, when we asked to clean the table and chairs since they were kinda dirty one of the servers had an attitude. It's definitely more of a hole in the wall place. I'll return if I'm in the area and craving Chinese noodles!

Delicious Mala Chicken: perfect in the Sichuan peppers. Nice and clean small restaurant with pleasant waitress! A very pleasant and satisfying food place. Highly recommended

After reading the sfgate dumpling report on this place I was lucky enough to eat with the writer of that article. She's a good friend of mine and I mentioned I wanted to eat here after reading her delicious report. We got a group together and ordered almost everything on the menu. My faves were the spicy beef noodle, the string beans, the dill dumplings, the corn dumplings, the thick soup dumplings, and the tendon soup. I know that's most of what we ordered but it was so good. It quenched cravings I didn't know I had. My son has dairy, egg, and nut allergies and they said he could have the veggie dumplings since the meat dumplings had eggs mixed into the filling. He had plenty to eat and in fact, his fave dish was the string beans! I loved the food and the company. If you read the article you would know to pay extra attention to their well-guarded secret recipe hot sauce. It was so spicy but a little bit goes a long way!

My boyfriend and his brother found this little spot a while ago and right across the street is a little Japanese sushi café, Yoma Cafe. My boyfriend wanted their spicy beef noodles and I got some takeout sushi since I have stupid food, allergies and sadly, I'm allergic to MSG/mono sodium gluconate. The gentleman wasn't too sure if that was in their dumplings since the dumplings are outsourced from another local restaurant down the street, but my boyfriend assured me that even if they had MSG, they taste delicious!! Lol we got some frozen dumplings to take home and he loved his spicy beef noodle soup! As we sat in the restaurant, there were a number of families that came in after us, and they were all seated and served rather quickly. The two people working behind the counter, were incredibly friendly and thoughtful with their orders, and on top of all the food as well as the takeout/DoorDash orders. I would not mind coming back again and ordering.

Truly the king of noodles! Delicious food! Service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is small and comfortable. I really love the onion pancakes and the chicken chow mein. I've been coming here since 2022 and will continue to do so!

King of Noodles This Resturant certainly lives up to its name. It's a great mom and pop shop with delicious food and great staff. I've had Ansen as my waiter the last couple times I've been here and he's been super good. Very attentive and friendly. I have come here a couple times for their Lamb Noodles. Their noodles are made fresh and they always are generous with their lamb portions. I got the Lamb Noodle Soup (13.95) like I always do, and again, was super satisfied. It's such a simple noodle dish but so delicious. This place's soup isn't too salty, which I personally like. It could use a little bit more veggies, but overall it was great! This time, I decided to also try their mango sago. It was made on the spot by my waiter, Ansen, and honestly such a good way to wrap up my dinner. The mango sago had lychee jelly and had a good consistency. Will be back soon!

Ordered a bowl of spicy beef noodle soup for lunch in the 'New Chinatown' of West SF. My preferred beef noodle soup is the Taiwanese version (with sauerkraut add-on but without the mouth-numbing sichuan peppercorn.) King of Noodles serves the mainland Chinese version; it's excellent with a bold beefy non-oily broth, large super-tender beef chunks, and only a slight tingling sensation from the peppercorn. Next time I will try their other noodle soups.

I came to King of Noodles with a friend on a gloomy day in the Sunset, and it was the perfect meal to warm ourselves on a chilly and quiet afternoon. The shop itself is super cute and feels very mom-and-pop, which I love. A decent number of the other patrons were older Asian folks, which is always a great sign for a Chinese establishment :) Shanghai Soup Dumplings ($8): This is one of their best sellers and for good reason! They are delicious with the right dough:soup:filling ratio and clearly handmade. Shrimp w/ Green Chives Dumplings ($12): These were good but not our favorite compared to the other dishes, which just stood out more. Still, they're a solid option if you're wanting to split many dishes among a group. Now onto the noodle soups: they are a must order. I mean it's literally called King of Noodles. I was kind of giddy when our server brought out our huge, piping hot bowls, and they did not disappoint one bit! Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($13): My friend ordered this and she loved it. I tried the broth and the flavor was fantastic with a good kick. A generous amount of beef and noodles too. Beef Tendon Noodle Soup ($13): I always like to order slightly unconventional meats if it's an option, and the tendon piqued my interest. So good!! Gelatinous: yes. Overly chewy: no. Which is exactly what you're looking for in tendon. And such a generous amount as well! The service was quick, the value was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I definitely would recommend trying it out!

Hole in the wall restaurant. Not a ton of seating. Good for groups between 2-4. $10-15 for every dish. Their spicy beef noodle soup came out fast and had a good kick to it. I also really liked their tomato egg flour soup. Would come back here!

The spicy beef noodle soup was delicious! As was the five spice marinated meat. As for the beef stew noodle soup, it was way below average for my partner and I. Firstly, they gave us the wrong noodle (I ordered flat noodle soup they gave me a bowl with their regular noodles). Then, when they gave me a new bowl with the correct noodles, the broth was way watered down and cold (not even warm!). I'm thinking they gave me an old bowl, or when they were changing the noodles the noodle water made it cold...but even then that would mean they gave me old noodles. Quite disappointing. The other two dishes were great though so two stars for that.

I've been here a few times, and it's usually one of my go-to spots in Sunset. It's located in a more residential part of Sunset, so parking is a bit easier to find We got the: - Scallion pancakes--one of the stars of the night. Piping hot when it came out, and the outside was nice and crispy, while the inside was a bit chewy but well cooked. I would like to have tasted a bit more of the scallion flavor though - Bean paste with dry noodles (Zha zhang mian)--super yummy! The black bean sauce is not too salty, but make sure to thoroughly mix it to incorporate the sauce on every noodle. We ended up having a bunch of noodles drowning in all the sauce due to not mixing properly. Good amount of sliced cucumbers and minced meat - Pork dumplings with chives--great value! Loved the amount of dumplings you get for the price. They're a bit bland without the dipping sauce (so dip away), but there's a good amount of filling. The wrapper felt a bit too thick though - XO chow fun--quite a lot of oil in this dish (you can see it all reflecting in the picture), but chow fun ought to have a bit more than usual to get all that wok taste. Lots of tender beef, bean sprouts, and crisp scallions. Interesting to see sliced carrots, which I normally don't see in this dish - String beans--not too much to say about this, but well cooked and crisp. Good flavor from the black paste but the black liquid that settled a bit at the bottom didn't look too appetizing All in all, great selection of food, and I really want to try some more of their signature dishes. Staff were so nice (it's a family owned business, so the sons were helping out). There's not too much seating, but luckily we got a table. Usually, I've seen a line outside on weekends when I'm walking around the area

I once worked for a guy who walked around the office. Management by walking around is what he called it. He merely did it to show his face to people and not have them think that he's isolated in an ivory tower. Really good guy. King of Noodles is that kind of place. I was just minding my own business, intent on going to another noodle place, when my friend and I drove past the restaurant. Open parking spot in front, hungry stomachs, and not much money to spent. King of Noodles fit the bill. Order the beef chow fun, enjoy the crisp of the beef, and thank me later.

This place was exactly what I needed after the longest day of moving. I was craving something cozy, cost effective and walking distance. My friend and I split the master green noodle soup & chicken chow fun. The rice noodles were beautiful & incredible because they are homemade. Service was so fast and easy. King of noodles is my new staple

I haven't been back to this restaurant in over 20years, it probably went through many owners since then, but it has remained a place for xlb and dumplings. They've added newer items on the menu since I last visited like the pancakes and various desserts. The prices are still fairly reasonable and the dishes come out quite fast. Big plus, the servers can converse in english, Cantonese and Mandarin, makes for easier ordering without looking at the menu for me, since I don't know the translation in a english menu. The xlb were a disappointment to me but I've tried them in lots of restaurants and thought theirs were a little lacking in some crucial ingredients like ginger. The lamb dumplings were as I would expect, very outstanding in lamb flavours. The beef pancake was a bit underwhelming to me. I didn't order or will ever order the chicken dumplings with corn, I've never been a fan of such a bland dumpling. I can't comment on the sesame bun since it's not my taste for sesame seed anything. This would qualify as a hole in the wall, but certainly worth it for the lamb dumplings. I will need to come back to try other items on their menu.

I tried this place before and was happy. I went there because I wanted to eat the spicy beef soup.. I specifically said that I wanted it mild and the server said yes. Unfortunately when I got it it was still too spicy . It cleared my sinuses and made me cry. The Noodles were long and chewy. The Beef was fantastic. .I opted to take it home and leave the soup. I reboiled it at home minus the spicy soup and it turned out great. The restaurant is very simple and it gave me a nice vibe. I recommend it. But no more spicy stuff .

This was my first time at this restaurant and was trying to explore some different options than my usual spots so decided to give this spot a try. It was pretty packed but we were able too get seated relatively quickly, which was a plus. My friend and I ordered a variety of dishes. I got the wonton soup and my friend got some dumplings. For appetizers, we got the chicken wings and string beans. The wonton soup was on the blander side which was disappointing and the dumplings were not as juicy as we had hoped. The string beans were very good but the most disappointing part was the chicken wings since we had received a batch of undercooked wings. We let the staff know and they offered to refry it for us, but unfortunately it made our dining experience here not the most pleasant. The restaurant may have been having an off day given some of the other pleasant reviews but I don't think I would be returning to this spot for my noodle fix.

I'm surprised this spot only has 3.8 stars. I got the pork dumplings with shrimp and chives today, and they were delicious. The wrapper was thick and doughy, just like the dumplings I would have at home. I also love the inside of the restaurant. It feels homey and clean (somewhat rare combination for a Chinese restaurant). There's some cute art on the walls as well. My server was super nice and refilled my water every time I wanted more (before I had to ask). Appreciate his attentiveness!

The restaurant is small, so expect a wait if you have more than 2 people on a weekend. We got a bunch of dishes to do family style: -Onion pancake - Solid. -Salt pepper tofu - This was a very tasty appetizer to share. The tofu is tender, with good flavor. -Xiao long bao - The thickness of the skin was perfect and it had good amount of juice. This was my third favorite dish. -Chicken and corn dumpling- My favorite dish! I loved the sweetness of the corn incorporated into the saltiness of the meat. -Pork and chive dumpling - Solid. -Pork and celery dumpling - Solid. -String beans - This is my second favorite dish. The flavors was amazing and the string beans had the perfect texture. -Black bean sauce noodles - I was quite full when this came out so I only ate a little, but this was good. Everything was solid, and I'd definitely be back when I need a dumpling fix.

Got the spicy beef noodle soup and the beef tendon. The price is pretty cheap, and the taste is not bad. There's a vinegar taste to the beef noodle soup.

One of my favorite noodle shops in San Francisco due to their XO Wok Dishes. Nice location that has a better chance of parking due to the lack of other merchants on the block. I opt for the Chow Fun & Chow Mein that has always been yummy, though I did add some extra XO Soy Sauce that I bought at 99 Ranch in Daly City, The prices are very reasonable, the orders quickly prepared, and the staff polite. My order of Beef Chow Fun was Great. I will continue coming back. (no entree image hunger made me forget)

My friend goes here all the time when she's craving Chinese food, so she suggested it for takeout. We got onion pancakes, pork and shrimp wonton soup, spicy beef noodle soup, and black fungus with cucumber. Everything was filling! Great flavors too! A nice kick from the beef noodle soup. I dipped the pancakes in the broth. Yum! We still had leftovers for the next day. Not bad to share the portions with people, especially the soups.

Long live the King! We were very lucky to come before the lunch rush, because this place filled up and a line formed (see picture). Very much a while in the wall type of establishment. Excellent service, prices, portions, and flavors! They were able to accommodate our kid-related request; bring the whole family! XO Chow Fun and Beef Stew Soup Noodle were both excellent. Our kid is a picky eater, and he couldn't get enough! We saw a lot of people ordering the green onion pancakes as well. Will try those next time and report back!

Always a go-to especially for out-of-town guests! About 30 minute wait at 5:40pm on a Saturday for a group of 6. In addition to our usual Beef Noodle Soup, Bean Paste Noodles, I also ordered some new stuff this time: * Beef Chow Fun - 4 stars Very soft meat, soft rice noodles, crunchy bean sprouts. This was great. * Salt & Pepper Fried Chicken - 4 stars Lovely crisp, packed with flavor. * Spicy Beef Noodle Soup I only tried one spoonful of this, just to say this was LEGIT spicy. Not for the feint of heart!

I'd been craving noodles and decided to get delivery. It's been a long time since I've been to the restaurant in person but have enjoyed it. It was more convenient for delivery this time and didn't take too long. Delivery time was typical and food still hot upon arrival. I got the beef chow fun, green beans, and soup dumplings. Portions were large for everything. Beans and noodles were extra greasy with pools of oil in the bottom that felt less than appetizing. Texture and flavor were just ok for the noodles and dumplings and wouldn't order again (or at least not delivery). Dumplings barely had any soup and hadn't leaked out. They didn't seem very full of filling either. I'd try another place or come in person next time I'm craving noodles/Chinese food.

This place is probably overall a 4.5 but I'm rounding up for the great service! I got the beef tendon noodle soup and didn't realize it didn't come spicy. When the server realized, she kindly brought it back to make it spicy and let me know in the future I could order it spicy ahead of time. Also got the green onion pancakes which were not super flavorful and strangely a bit thin but were still crispy and oily. The noodle soup itself was flavorful and savory, with plenty of tendon and bok choy. The noodles were quite good too, though maybe a tad bit soft for my preferences. The place was a small little almost underground eatery, but clean and with plenty of tables and chairs. Overall: 4.5/5

We came here on an especially busy Friday night in the sunset and waited 1+ hour to get seated (there was a paper waitlist). Despite that, the servers were friendly, understanding, and on top of everything. They even patiently answered several (hungry) people's questions about the waitlist time. I ordered a spicy beef noodle soup with hand pulled noodles and a chives pancake. The hand-pulled noodles were so delicious, and the numbing spicy was a perfect touch. The beef was plentiful. The chives pancakes were also some of my favorite I've gotten from a restaurant - the wrapper was not too thick, and the filling was just right. All the dishes were well-priced and delicious. There are several tables inside, but the space is overall not huge, which definitely contributes to a longer wait time. My food came out within 5 minutes though! I don't know if I'd wait that long again to eat here (every spot within a couple of blocks was packed this day!), but I will definitely be returning to eat these dishes again!

Ended up coming here on New Year's Day as it was one of the few restaurants open - and nothing sounded better than a warm bowl of soup. We had a bit of a wait before we got in, and it took a while to get our order taken, but it seemed like they were understaffed for the amount of orders coming in. Saw a lot of to go orders while we waited and ate. Once we did order, the onion pancake came up quickly, then my soup, but it was a bit of a wait before the next bowl of soup came. Onion pancake was super crispy, it had good flavor but was even better when dipped in the soup. I ordered the beef stew noodle soup, it was a huge portion and I ended up taking almost half of it home. The noodles were cooked to the perfect texture. The bok choy was also cooked nicely and not at all bitter. Biggest complaint about the soup was the amount of fat on the beef. When I ate the leftovers there was a fat ring around the container and a few of the pieces of meat weren't even edible. Though this isn't my favorite kind of soup, it was good and I'd for sure come back if I lived in the area.

HORRIBLE FOOD AND DIRTY!!!!! Fried rice had absolutely no flavor at all and vegetable chow mein had only noodles, bok chow and tofu that's it. Horrible

A good combo for dinner, especially on a cold day. Both dumplings and deer noodle soup was delicious with lots of flavor. Service was great and provided assistance when needed.

Have you ever wanted to find that little hole in the wall place that gets it right? Well this is mine. It's busy without being chaotic and to me busy means the food is moving through the kitchen fast and that keeps it fresh. The lighting could use some work and rest of the decor is pretty much what you would expect. The food however does not suffer from a lack of imagination. My top picks are the chow mein, the pea shoots, sausage pancake and green onion pancake too. Hot and sour soup is one of my favorites and here it scored 7/10. The waiter was just friendly enough and could have been a better ambassador for the restaurant but like I said, friendly enough. Price wise it's cheap and cheerful.
