King of Wings

First I would say the delivery time was the only good experience I’ve had here. I ordered 10 pc wings plain with garlic Parmesan on the side also a side of sweet chili. I don’t eat buffalo wings and nowhere on their menu does it state everything is buffalo base also it tastes like noting but butter the sweet chilli taste like duck sauce. I was unaware so when I called the store the guy who answered was rude and told me well you don’t like our food don’t order again which I wasn’t going to but I just spent $50 I told him I wanted a refund he can come pick the food up because I wasn’t going to eat it it’s not enjoyable and it’s nothing but butter they said no I’m not giving you a refund I also told him if I would have known about the buffalo base I wouldn’t have ordered it because that’s not what I think of when I say garlic Parmesan and again I don’t eat buffalo sauce. I also ordered lemon pepper wings and they were the same butter buffalo base with pepper. I don’t recommend this place and their customer service is horrible not informative if you like butter wings this is the place for you.

****11/12/2024**** Added 2 more updated pics, wings & fries. Let's get into talking about this food. The reason I gave 3 stars 🌟 is due to the response I received from the person taking my order. My 1st visit here, I walked in had to wait a while before the staff member came to take my order at the counter. I glanced over the menu and saw they had rotisserie chicken, I was definitely excited to see that. So I asked the guy taking my order, where do they rotisserie (🤣) the chicken at, because all I see is deep fryers and grills? His response was I don't know, my friend brings them to me 😳😳. (Wayment) just to make sure I heard that response correctly, I repeated what was said, I said so tou don't know where the rotisserie chicken comes from, because your friend just brings them and you sell it? He said yes. Welp, that was the end of my curiosity for the rotisserie chicken. I'm like bro, for all I know you over charging me for chicken you probably got from BJ's and cut it into halves 🤣🤣. Okay so I ordered the 10 piece buffalo wings with mild sauce, just to keep it simple. He said about 10 minutes, I replied okay 👌🏾. As I waited, I observed the establishment, I will admit that the place is clean 🙌🏾🙌🏾. We all care about that!! The employee wasn't rude or anything, I just expect you to already know where you getting out sourced chicken from 🤣🤦🏾‍♂️. I would've still probably tried it 🤷🏾‍♂️. About 10 minutes passed and my order was ready. I got home, and boy oh boy those wings were good. The wings were not over cooked (hard) nor were they under cooked. The mild sauce had a settle little heat to it, ad a mild sauce should have. My picture shows 8, oh and a lot of sauce leaked out so carry the container upright. I immediately began eating the next wing after I tasted the 1st one. I started to get 15 wings, but I instead only got 10 just to try them out. Next time I'll get the 20 piece 🤣, I love to eat!! All in all, at least try the wings; I think you'll be satisfied. Now I can only speak to one flavor and that's mild. Oh and they won't let you do a half and half 🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️. Just try them out, even if only for the wings. 👌🏾

This was one of my favorite places til the last year. This place has been price gouging lately. Prices creeping up every 6 months . Watchout its not Worth it! Yes the wings are tasty but dont be a FOOL!

I love this spot for wings. I normally order in person, this time I used Uber eats. I ordered 2 orders of buffalo style wings ( honey BBQ) I RATED three stars because of two crucial factors. One, I ordered sauce on the side for my wife and that was ignored so my wife was disappointed. Two, I ordered cheesy curly fries. The fries were swimming in sauce and the fries were limp, soggy like over cooked pasta. The wings I ordered for myself were spot on. I will continue to order but will call in advance for future orders to avoid disappointment.

I ordered the wings fries and soda combo. Everything was cold but that's more so on the delivery service than therestaurant. Wings had no flavor. All sauce had absorbed and were now basically sauce less. Fries were under done. Everything tasted like the oil needed to be changed. Very disappointing.

They said thanks for the review but I never said anything. Listen, my point is, the name of this place is no lie. At least not for Philly. I can't speak for other cities, cos this is where I live. But anyways my fam always get wings from here. We've tried other places in the past but nothing ever lived up. We even came here because when we lived in Lancaster there were no good wings places. That's how good they were. Now that we are back I'm free to choose whatever flavor I want, and I cannot wait to try more than just hot. I mean, hot is great, but I love variety. And they have a variety of wing sauces to choose from. Not too many, because they aren't a gimmick place. Just enough. I really dread moving out of South Philly cos then I won't know WHERE to get my wings from. Wait, yes I will. I used to drive two hours for wings. I know where I'd go for my wings if I moved out of the area.

The chicken had dark spots all over it. The guy brought it from upstairs. It was frozen solid. I still didn't watching prepare the entire chicken. I don't think he had gloves on Oracle in his hands and to me. That is a major major no. No. I was just baffled by this behavior. People run no. Don't go And to this place unless you want poor service.

This is my first time ordering food. My daughter ordered boneless wings with garlic parmesan sauce it was not boneless wings it was chicken tenders and they was chewy. The wings I ordered was not done all the way. Our corn tasted like it sat in a pot of water all day. I am disappointed in my order. Won't order again.

Although I admit to not have visited King of Wings in the past few months, when my son lived at home we were regulars there. We used to order there at least once a week. They had whole meals deals for great prices. My son would get a meal and there was almost enough for all three of us. The salads were and the chicken was so good. It also came with two side orders and a roll. This side orders varied according to the day. Also, it felt like you stepped back in time 40 years, because every time I called or stopped in they remembered me by name, asked about my family, and these are things that just don't exist anymore in most businesses. They are well worth you giving them a shot. I would guess that 80% of those who do will become regulars as well. This is a takeout restaurant only. There are no tables or any place for you to eat in.

Food was good and delivery was relatively quick. The problem was that our order was wrong, they took the missing items off the bill instead of making and sending it out which left us short for the 5 of us since we shared what we had. It was credited back to my card quickly

First of all this place is spotless. Impeccable. The staff always have a smile on their faces. So pleasant. I get the chicken finger platter a lot and it is delicious. Ive gotten other things as well like wings cheese steaks and burgers. No complaints at all. Believe they r fairly new owners and what an improvement!!!! U can't eat in but i think they do a good delivery business - at least I hope so. An easy 5 stars.

had issues with the delivery service. i think it was grub hub, so food wasn't hot when it arrived. some items were still warm enough without reheating though. the honey bbq wings were pretty delicious! i got a garden salad, which was a huge portion so my friend and i split it. the cheese fries were a soggy mess, again i'll blame the delivery service for this. but had good flavor.

King of wings has a big problem with their chicken. The fresh pressure chicken is way overcooked, always dry. Wings are no better. Fresh cut potato's can be good. For a chicken place, they should be delivering at a higher level.

It's Superbowl Sunday and I wanted to get some hot wings for me and a couple of friends so we could watch Big Red finally get a championship. I tried a couple of other spots that were too busy and had a long wait, so I decided to give King of Wings a try. They're located in South Philly, on Passeyunk Ave and they have been there for a long time. The place was busy, but not too crowded. The smell was terrific and I was sure I had found the right place. I looked over the menu and ordered 20 buffalo wings, 10 buffalo fingers, a half rack of ribs and a large potato salad. The prices were very reasonable. I had to wait a bit, but it wasn't that long considering that it was a busy Superbowl Sunday I set it up on the dinning room table and I piled a little bit of everything on my plate and sat down on the couch to enjoy the game. The wings were okay, not nearly spicy enough for me, they were medium sized and coated well. The buffalo fingers were kind of soft but fresh. The ribs were not that tender and I felt like a wild animal in the woods tearing meat off the bone. The sauce was tasty though, nice and tangy. The potato salad was nothing to write home about, but it had a cooling balance to all of the spicy food. I was glad the game was good and nobody complained about the food, Big Red prevailed and all of the food was eaten, and lot of adult beverages were consumed and everyone left with a smile on their face.

Great wings that are delivered hot. The sauces are otherworldly and you get your money's worth.

I can't completely diss this place because In the past I have had nothing but good experiences. BUT TODAY, a male answered the phone who was so hard to understand I knew from that moment my order somehow someway was messed up. Usually a women answers the phone and is very attentive and accurate. We spent 80 dollars today for a party and got the order and of course they forgot stuff. I feel as though they should make a customer whose purchasing 80 dollars worth of food a priority and make sure its perfect! They forgot all of our sauces. I called back and they said "well we are busy I don't know when I can bring you sauce" so now my wings are sitting and everyone is waiting for the driver to come back "when they have time." THEY MADE THE MISTAKE AND DONT EVEN CARE TO FIX IT! BACK TO MR.WINGS WE GO!!!!

I wanted to do something nice for my boyfriend, a nice soulful, homecooked meal! (that is the way to a mans heart right?) so i went in the kitchen to defrost some chicken, and chop some potatoes... and immediately became tired of the idea. So instead I surprised him with something that tastes soulful and homecooked! chicken, spinach, macaroni, and mashed potatoes from king of wings. I don't think i won any hearts this night however, the sides were blase' and the chicken was dry. and there was no soul whatsoever. I couldn't pass this off as my own cooking. And I wouldn't want to haha!

I called to place a order and the guy told me I couldn't because I live in the projects which I don't that's there lost and very disrespectful I will be posting about this

King of Wings? I highly recommend a name change. Went out on a limb and ordered ten hot and ten nuclear wings without reading Yelp. Well, I screwed up because every negative review was spot on. While the wings came quickly they were without a doubt the worst chicken wings I've ever consumed. First, couldn't taste a difference between the two favors. The wings had very little meat and the coating was incredibly soggy. Second, they were smaller than any other chicken wing I've had. In fact one was so small I'd describe it as a bone bit fried and dipped in sauce. For $21 with tip I could have done so many other things. Worst delivery in Philly I've ever had. Cannot implore my fellow yelpers to avoid this place.

King of Wings was a bitter disappointment. I had a house guest recently who, upon rummaging through my menu drawer, decided to order from King of Wings. I'd never ordered from the place and wasn't really hungry, so I gave him the green light to order something for himself. All he ordered was buffalo shrimp, french fries, and a soda and somehow, this added up to more than $20! I tasted one of the 'buffalo' shrimp - IF you could call it that! They were nothing more than some batter-fried (most likely frozen) shrimp with a few squirts of hot sauce on them. King of Wings should be ashamed of themselves! Needless to say, I won't be ordering from there again.

It's an ok place. I've had a few things- some good, some not so good. buffalo chicken cheesesteak - chicken was good, blue cheese was good, hot sauce was good. But the hot sauce was sparsely drizzled on top like they were running out. You need to completely cover that chicken with hot sauce! COME ON! I had to add a lot of franks hot sauce myself and then it was delicious. mashed potatoes and biscuits are good. buffalo chicken sandwich is messy but delicious. With the wings and boneless wings- the sauce doesn't stick to the wings very well. I wouldn't recommend them. Definitely NOT the king of wings, but good for some sandwiches and sides.

Ordered wings from here and I regret doing it. I received poor quality food. The wings weren't even tossed in the sauce. I received fried wings with a weird oil substance on the bottom that I guess was meant to be sauce. I can't even call and complain cause I am certain they wouldn't return my money. If a restaurant can't even handle making wings, I can only imagine what other trash they serve. Don't order from here! please stop serving sloppy mediocre food.

The most disgusting wings ever! No flavor, greasy and not even crispy! The chicken cheese steak hoagie lacked flavor but had a fresh roll. Thats the only good thing I can say. The wait was 30 minutes for just those two items, not worth it!

I don't write reviews but i had for this place. First off my food took 2 hours. Second when i called to see where it was they weren't even sure about if the order was even received they just guessed it was with the delivery man. And lastly the food was cold and on top of that is wasn't good meaning the food was old. My mashed potatoes and mac and cheese tasted sour. Im very upset and should have called for my money back but it probably would have taken another 2 hours.

Great delivery and fries, very greasy chicken. Delivery was early and quick enough that the curly fries were hot but not soggy which is pretty impressive for delivery. They were tasty as well. The boneless wings looked great at first. They were quite large and all white meat. The problem was the sauce. There were large puddles of grease and oil under both orders (hot and nuclear). When reheated more grease dripped off as the sauce further separated.

This is an amazing place. I'm sure it's crazy given that it's super bowl Sunday. They delivered my order in a timely fashion. Food was hot. They even added the additional requests. I would absolutely order from king of wings again. Plus these wings are delicious. Go birds!!

Great wings, and the lunch specials and a great value. I wish the nuclear wings were bit hotter though, and their fries tend to be pretty soggy.

I had heard the wings here were awesome but they were really just so so. Otherwise the experience was good and the food was of above average quality.

Ordered the chicken cheesesteak special. The cheesesteak meat was good, but the roll tasted a little stale. The fries were half cooked.

5 stars for certain. Can any of my wing friends tell me who has better wings than King of Wings? I'm talking about in Philly. I don't think anybody over there has better wings. I drive an hour to get those wings.

I haven't had a Pizza Steak in a while 'cause they're so xpensive but I love them. I ordered one w/fried onions from King of Wings, the cheapest steaks around for the money. I loved it. It was delivered in 20 minutes, piping hot, clean as a whistle, meat was shredded like I like it, not heavy pieces or slices w/hard edges. The bread was warm and fresh, just enough pizza sauce w/out drowning the steak. One half of the sandwich had enough in it to satisfy me for the hour. I was happy. oh, yea, the delivery guy was nice, friendly, and cute.

Its super bowl Sunday, so i understand that anything ordered for delivery will be long. But I ordered at 5:05 pm, and its 8:30pm, and I still dont have my order.. The lady on the phone also got frustrated that I called to check the status of my order but its been 3+ hours.. After being hung up on 7 times, i asked for the money back and she said she couldnt do it. She put me on hold for 20 minutes. Im going to have to be forced to contest the transaction with my bank. TERRIBLE.

we got a flyer from these guys stuck next to our doorknob. one night, wings were looking mighty tempting, so we ordered the boneless buffalo wings. here's a rundown of the timing, just so you can get a sense of the speed of the place: 8:44: ordered 8:57: called to add something to our order, was told it was already out for delivery 9:02: arrived at our door this is particularly amazing when you consider we live at 18th and Fitzwater, AND it was a Friday night. so, speed: A+ the wings were HUGE (almost a chicken breast each). the celery was plentiful and crisp, not soggy and rubbery. the blue cheese sauce was standard. the honey barbecue sauce left something to be desired, so i won't be ordering it again. still, nothing a little sriracha couldn't fix. i'll get the hot wings next time.

Needed a place that could handle a big order; 2000 wings, and KoW came thru. They were very easy to work with, the delivery was right on time, and most importantly we have over 250 people who really enjoyed KoW wings

The buffalo wings are extremely tasty!! The reason I gave three stars is because I ordered 20 wings the other night for me and my friend and they were very crunchy and not very much meat on the bones. I like places that are consistent. I may give them another chance but for now I'm looking for a new go-to wings spot in south Philly.

Terrible. Dry frozen wings. Wings are also on the small side. Sauce is mediocre and that is the best thing I can say about it. Much better places to get wings within walking distance of this place. Also it doesn't look very clean in there. STAY AWAY!

Nice neighborhood wing stop. I won't say it's the KING of wings however but will order there for house parties if needed.

The Positive: Chicken Parm is great and plenty of misc. items from mozz sticks to pierogies. I've always had a fast delivery (30 minutes-ish and im on the other side of south philly) and they take credit cards. The Negative: they charge for delivery which bothers me esp since i still tip which annoys me on cost.

They have the best mozzarella sticks and honey wings ever! Fast delivery service and the price is decent. Would recommend this place to anyone!

I order a cheeseburger and fries for delivery and when I get it the burger is dry and they didn't even give me condiments. The bread is a little tough and the fries are not cooked all the way. Omg, what a waste of money.

We wanted some chicken, and this menu offers a wide array of options. Surprisingly, they also deliver across the city (apparently all the locals know not to eat there). After an hour and half wait, our food arrives. Unfortunately the delay is the least of our complaints. The food is terrible. The pressure cooked chicken in particular is overcooked, dry, and tastes like rancid oil. This is our greatest take-out disappointment.

Their chicken finger platters are good, that's the only thing I get from them; until I order from them one day and get doesn't look like what I usually get. The chicken looks burnt, and after I take a bite of one of the "chicken finger" I see a hair sitting on top on the chicken! Very disappointed with my order. Probably won't order from them again

Way too overpriced for less than mediocre food. Their service is very fast I'll give them that. The staff is cold and don't waste their words, but I'll presume that's because they're foreign and maybe that's what's acceptable there. Maybe they should spend a few extra minutes improving their food and making it taste good.

Ok. So I ordered after work because this place is on my way home , let me just say it sucked like the first time I ordered from which was about 4 years ago, fiqured they'd improved WRONG. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they told me 15 to 20 minutes and it was ready in 10 minutes. The wings were hot but very greasy the sauce is not sauce at all its just red colored grease. Wings are small with not enough meat on them and the medium wings that I ordered had 0 sauce but a crap ton of grease. Lesson learned

The best wings I've had in South Philly so far, and I've tried a lot of places! They were very meaty, the sauce was amazing and the price is just right. Had the mac and cheese also which was good, but nothing stellar. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

King of Wings have the best wings. My friends and I always order from KOW when we watch the ball game they are fast delivery and the best tasting wings. The last time we ordered BBQ, hot and nuclear flavored wings they took care of us and priced them at a total of 60 wings saving us money ... great wings!!
