Casual Chinese restaurant with a wide-ranging menu that includes lo mein, congee & roast duck.
"This North Miami Beach institution has been satisfying cravings for Cantonese-style barbecue for decades. The sprawling menu features excellent roasted meats, particularly the crispy-skinned roast duck and char siu pork, which can be ordered on their own or atop a steaming bowl of wonton noodle soup. While the no-frills dining room could use an update, the food more than makes up for it with dishes like the salt and pepper pork chops, ginger-scallion lobster, and pan-fried noodles, keeping regulars coming back." - Dara Smith, Olee Fowler
"The main event at King Palace is the barbecue platter—the biggest of which comes in under $40 and includes glistening portions of duck, chicken, two kinds of pork, and could probably feed at least four or five. But don’t get so distracted by meats that you don’t order some other things, like the shredded jellyfish salad or the sweet walnut shrimp. The menu is humongous, and the round tables are also great for big groups. So come here for a casual dinner with very hungry friends." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"This is definitely the place to get great char siu and Peking duck, along with crispy pork belly and soy sauce chicken. However, if you’re looking for more than just an endless supply of roast meats, the drunken chicken or jellyfish salad (both served cold) is an ideal way to start the meal. The stir-fried scallops with lily bulbs and sliced lotus root with Cantonese sausage, bacon, and ham are also two excellent things to order alongside your barbecue feast." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"The Meal: BBQ Roast Pork & Duck On Rice, $14 King Palace has a big, delicious menu. But they are particularly skilled at Chinese barbecue. Both their roast pork and duck are excellent and—would you look at that—not only costs $14, but also comes with rice. Lucky us. We like this place for takeout, but their small dining room is also perfect for a casual dinner with friends at a big round table." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
