"If dad’s favorite part of any Chinese meal is the meat, take him to King Palace. This place is all about Chinese barbecue, generous portions, and service quick enough to keep father’s impatient toes from tapping underneath the big, round table. Order the hulking four-combination barbecue platter and watch as his eyes flood with a childlike joy not seen since his beloved NFL team won an important game. It comes with heaps of roast duck, pork (crispy and roasted), and soy sauce chicken. His eyes will light up once more when the check arrives. All that glistening meat only costs about $40." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo
"The main event at King Palace is the barbecue platter—the biggest of which comes in under $40 and includes glistening portions of duck, chicken, two kinds of pork, and could probably feed at least four or five. But don’t get so distracted by meats that you don’t order some other things, like the shredded jellyfish salad or the sweet walnut shrimp. The menu is humongous, and the round tables are also great for big groups. So come here for a casual dinner with very hungry friends." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"On any given night at King Palace, you’re bound to find large round tables of people gathered around a lazy susan full of Chinese-style barbecue, which can be hard to find in Miami. This is definitely the place to get great char siu and peking duck, along with crispy pork belly and soy sauce chicken. However, if you’re looking for more than just an endless supply of roast meats, the walnut shrimp is an ideal way to start the meal. The stir-fried scallops with lily bulbs and sliced lotus root with Cantonese sausage, bacon, and ham are also two excellent things to order alongside your barbecue feast." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"On any given night at 163rd Street's King Palace, you’re bound to find large round tables of people gathered around a lazy susan full of Chinese-style barbecue. This is definitely the place to get great char siu and Peking duck, along with crispy pork belly and soy sauce chicken. However, if you’re looking for more than an endless supply of roast meats, the drunken chicken or jellyfish (both served cold) are ideal ways to start the meal. The stir-fried scallops with lily bulbs and sliced lotus root with Cantonese sausage, bacon, and ham are also two excellent things to order alongside your barbecue feast." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"King Palace is a low-key spot in North Miami, and you're coming here for a feast of Chinese-style barbecue like char siu and Peking duck. Order a lot of that—plus the sliced lotus root with preserved meats, walnut shrimp, and jellyfish salad. Then have fun passing it all back and forth via the lazy susan on the center of each round table. This place has a very minimal atmosphere, so come with friends who appreciate the food and/or won’t stop complaining about the lack of great Chinese restaurants in Miami." - ryan pfeffer
