King Souvlaki

very good very popular long time food truck on the corner of Steinway and Ditmars. Fast service and with a smile each time. Super casual of course, grab and go kind of eat although they do have some chairs along the sidewalk. Good value for your buck.

So my husband picked up Pork Souvlaki platter for me today. Double salad as I did not want rice or fries and this is what I got. Disgraceful! Where is the lettuce, cucumbers? Just 2 pounds of tomatoes. Hell No!

I love the food from King Souvlaki! The chicken gyro is the best in town. But the chicken souvlaki platter is my absolute favorite. It’s always so tender and they give a hefty portion. If you go, you NEED to ask for the “King Sauce”, that’s what gives it the perfect touch. Could eat this everyday!

The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this food truck in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: First, you'll feel the good vibes from the employees at this place. I mean, they're welcoming and friendly. Service: Honestly, I have mixed feelings in this part. As I've said before, they're welcoming and friendly. However, the preparation of my order is the reason why I'm giving this place two starts. If it weren't for their friendly service, I would give them one or no stars. Food: I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Hero Sandwich. I saw the guy grab the 'cooked' chicken from a section that apparently keeps the food warm and placed it on my hero. At first, I thought, "That's a huge hero for a good price!". Little did I know, it came with a little surprise. The meat felt weird as I gave it my first bite. Then, I went on to discover that most of the chicken pieces were undercooked! I gave it three bites with a couple of chicken pieces that were 90% cooked and just decided to throw it away after that. Thank God, I did not get food poisoned. Hopefully, it didn't happen to other people, and it was just not my day when I decided to buy from them. Price: What can I say? Food with that kind of quality shouldn't even be sold.

King Souvlaki is a great value food truck. The portion sizes are good for the price, the food is filling, the service is good, and the food is delicious. I was in the area looking for something quick to eat after getting off a long flight. I came upon King Souvlaki's food truck. I was greeted right away and quickly decided on some Greek fries with gyro meat. The guy in the food truck was engaging and helped me understand the different items on the menu by answering my questions. I paid for my meal via Zelle and couldn't wait to try the food. The food was delicious. The fries were well-seasoned and perfectly fried. The gyro meat also has a nice flavor. I didn't care for the tzatziki sauce. I could see myself coming back from seconds the next time I was in the area.

I’ve been visiting King’s Souvlaki Truck regularly and I’ve noticed the prices keep going up every month. When I first ordered the gyro was $8. Over the next few months, it went up to $10, then $11, and now it’s $12. The price keeps rising so quickly, and the quality and portions are the same. Didn't know what i was getting until after i got my food and googled them. This gyro was the absolute best!! I never had a gyro with fries so i was surprised like what is going on lol needless to say i enjoyed every last bit of it and would definitely return

The Pork Gyro was solid. Chicken Gyro was a little dry. Their special salt & lemon seasoning was undetectable. The pita was really nice, good barbecue char to the base and soft on top. The lamb pita wrap was average at best.
