Where To Go For Your Last Meal In LA

"After a particularly moving viewing of Master of None′s second season, allora, you decided to move to Italy. And while you now have a lifetime of handmade pasta and big bud/little bud hijinks to look forward to, the thought of not knowing when you’ll eat another fantastic taco is a bit depressing. Luckily, there’s no need to think about that right now - you can still head to Tacos Quetzalcoatl and get one of the best vegetarian tacos in the entire known universe." - kat hong

Overpriced and underwhelming. In LA , 4300 E. Olympic Blvd. LA Ca. Zip 90023 this King Taco charges almost $4.30 per taco and their susdero was horrible like you’re eating seasoned rubber and trust me, the flavor doesn’t match the price tag. The burritos? About as exciting as plain rice… the salsas were the only thing worth finishing. The receipt was a joke .. faint ink like the printer’s on its last breath, stuffed with random machine codes, way too much of my card number showing, and not even the location or address listed. I had to call their HR person & she couldn’t even provided for me. I called her to explain how terrible the food is and their prices. For these prices, you’d expect great food and basic professionalism. Won’t be back. The outside of the building is like if you’re ordering from a jail cell. They also make you wait too long for the order and the environment outside is not appealing to sit to eat your tasteless lunch or dinner there. Lacks business professional practices. Cashiers are not too friendly and they limit the salsas even if you spent over $60.00. Don’t recommend it guys. Too bad I didn’t take pictures of the food, I was traveling too long and just didn’t bring my phone out to take pics. But I am definitely not coming back again. I regret not going to Jack in the box which is far better than this location business !!! I spent more in another receipt I had but threw it away. This is just to show you how expensive they charge for their poor no quality tacos 😖😏😩😣😒😒😒😒😩 take into account that I didn’t order no beverages.

Google
Not the best king taco I've been at the one in the one in Baldwin Park is better I think my wife to the tamales she said were not good at all and the buche was over cooked not tinder at all

Google
King Taco #15 falls short in several key areas. The food lacks flavor and the portions are disappointingly small, leaving much to be desired. Service is very slow, with long wait times that detract from the experience. While the patio offers a decent spot to sit and eat, it doesn’t make up for the subpar food. Free parking is a plus, but it’s one of the few redeeming features. The menu variety is decent, but execution doesn’t match expectations. The location feels more functional than inviting, and customer care seems to be an afterthought. If you’re looking for quality Mexican food, there are better options nearby. Overall, King Taco #15 is not worth the hype. Wouldn’t recommend. Horchata is too bad. Not sure how can someone make mexican food taste so bad

Google
Food was good. They now have an online ordering system. Say goodbye to long lines and even longer wait times. Walk up to the window, pick your food up and enjoy!

Google
I grew up coming to King Taco and finally had it after years of not eating it. Man, was it disappointing! King Taco is wack!!The horchata doesn't taste the same, the tacos were greasy as hell and the burrito was trash. It took me 35mins to get my food. Im better off never eating it again. Im very disappointed in King Taco.

David Park

Google
Always good here! They have melon agua fresca (cantaloupe) during the hot summer days!

Google
Ive been going to King Taco for over 35 years , food quality has fallen . Recently went and ordered burritos and the burrito was 70% rice . When I spoke to management they said they wouldn’t refund and didn’t care to fix the issue . Tacos are a better option but overall horrible company and you can tell how upper management treats their employees badly

Google
This is a very different King Taco than I'm used to compare to Glendale and Downtown LA. The ones I been to has all been indoor which this one is not. There not a lot of parking and only like 6 tables open out of like 20 due to social distancing. The line wasn't too long when we got there and we were able to find parking in the back. We ordered like 5 Carne asada tacos and my fiancée got her sopes. It took about 10 minutes for our order to be ready. When we got to the window, the lady had to ask us if our order was Carne asada or el pastor which we told her Carne asada. But when we got home and open the foil, it was all el pastor so we were really bummed. I had their quesadillas here before when my fiancée got it for me and my stomach didn't agree with it. So I'm not planning on ordering from this King Taco location next time.

Yelp
Service is friendly & quick; not too many people ordering & you can also mobile order for pick up. You order at the counter that's located outside of the restaurant. They call your order through a loud speaker and then you choose where to sit (indoor & outdoor seating) not located in the best neighborhood but it's a clean establishment with security out front. I always get their asada sopes, they cook their tortillas perfectly. I also got their asada burrito & although it doesn't have any cheese or sour cream, it was perfect. The sauce is super flavorful but spicy so tread at your own risk PS try their champurrado! (Cinnamon hot chocolate) Super delicious and comes in a styrofoam cup so it's stays nice & hot

Yelp
The king of tacos. It is definitely a staple in Los Angeles long before all the food carts and street vendors made their mark. The sign is visible off the 5 freeway. The menu is limited. They offer tacos, burritos, sopes and quesdillas. Weekends, they offer rotisserie chicken meals. We opted for a few tacos, a quesdilla and a sope. Zero issues finishing the food. Everything was made to order. Everything was very tastey. Lines are long, but they move quickly. There is plenty of outdoor eating.

Yelp
Order by one of the windows and wait for your number to be called and pick up your food by one of the pick-up windows. I'll get flamed for this but 5 Stars for my personal favorite Carne Asada Sopes with their house red sauces! Soft meats and well marinated. Not chicken, not al pastor and not anywhere else except this location - since 2011 whenever I pass by LA. Be careful of not overeating their red sauce or you'll awaken a fire dragon all the way in and out. lol. Staff are cordinal and they keep dining areas clean. Becareful of pigeons walking around during the day looking for your foods. : ) It's 5 minutes from the Citadel Outlet if you're shopping there. KING TACO - PLEASE COME TO OC! Over the decade, I tried tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, tamales but always ended up with 3-4 Carne Asada Sopes with extra cheeses (sometimes) and extra cabbages (always) -they just taste so good! Large drink is only $3.75 and $2 for refill. It's $6 in OC! Horchata is pretty good - milky and cinnamon. There are spoons, forks and napkins, but you have to ask for them. Pre-pandemic -everything was outside - self-served. There are seatings inside and outside or eat in the car. There's a restroom on the side of the building. Parking - it gets pretty busy and tight during peak hours (lunch, dinner, especially weekend).

Yelp
I've been to this spot many times, and it's always good. Today I had one each cabesa, carnitas, and asada tacos. All were delicious. The line goes pretty slow, but no one seemed to mind. Always a good idea to pull over at Olympic when you see that very tall sign, beckoning.

Yelp
Great food every single time though it is a tad more expensive than most other Mexican food restaurants. The flavors you taste with tour first bite of any food item from this restaurant is a always going to be a good experience. The choices are many and the employees are very pleasant, hardworking and attentive to every customer's requests. The horchata (my favorite drink) is second to none and definitely has a great taste of cinnamon. The vibe here and all of their locations is very relaxed and causal. One of my favorite places to eat when I am craving a chicken burrito which is every single day

Yelp
Man has this business gone down hill... I know that staffing is short and prices are up everywhere, but there has to be a better system. I used to love coming to this location because it was smaller than the one on 3rd and much more efficient. That's no longer the case. I waited in line for over a half hour for the only cashier to not know what comes in a bean and cheese burrito. And then another 20 minutes to wait for it to be ready? I'll make my own at home next time.

Yelp
Came today to buy burritos and tacos, I ordered all with everything in them, they gave me 4 plain tacos all pastor very dry meat, also 3 tacos asada with everything they gave me 4 plain, also ordered a burrito al pastor with everything they only put chili on it. They repeat what you ordered and they have it on the receipt and it's still wrong. Very bad service.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Always a great quick bite option for tacos. I remember great late night memories with friends at King Taco.

Antony V.

Yelp
Worst king taco ever!! Customer Service was horrible . Ambiance could have been better. Came to this specific location because i thought food was going to be good due to it being East LA. Ordered two burritos and both came back super thin with very little meat, rice and beans. More tortilla than anything. At this point I should have ordered two tacos for half the price! Agua de Jamaica is so watered down. They provide you with 2 small sauces. On top of that I went back to ask for napkins and got an attitude in return. Waste of time and money.
google avatar

Luisa L.

Yelp
The worst service! Waited 40 mins for a small order! So frustrating. Maybe not enough employees but no other King Taco takes this long!

Melissa J.

Yelp
Can't go wrong in downtown LA with King Taco! The environment and aesthetic is perfect for a quick but delicious bite to eat. While being able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine!

Hyeonmi S.

Yelp
what i got - three tacos (al pastor, carne asada, chicharron) - cheese jalapeño tamale (not really my style maybe try a diff flavor as this one tasted plain) what i recommend - ALL al pastor tacos, the other taco meats were not as good, i like the saucy yet cleaner taste of their al pastor! i don't know why but i also recommend getting a diet pepsi, it was so good for some reason LOL i like that they have parking and a seating area!

Yelp
they call out the numbers in Spanish, so you have to listen up. my number was 20 (veinte). I heard the numbers go by. "17, 18, 19, 21?" I know the difference between diece nueve, veinte and veinte uno. I mean, sure, maybe 21's order was so simple it was called before mine, just a solitary burrito, but then I heard 22 and 23 get called. by this time I go up to the window and I ask "20?" the guy behind the window seemed really bothered but took my order. no thank you, no hello, no come again. and the eye roll I got when I asked for sauce on the side. I'm sorry, service is just not good here. come for the food not the experience.

Josue R.

Yelp
First customer once they opened and it took them 30 min to get me my two tacos. They need to hire more efficient workers or something
google avatar

Roman M.

Yelp
I don't know why such hype. Was visiting and stopped by only to be disappointed yet again. First they have absolutely no customer service skills. The lady taking orders was very confused by my order and added an extra drink. Then I overheard the gentleman behind me say she didn't get all his order. Second, I came back to ask for napkins. The cashier wouldn't give me any she told me to go to another window. I asked at the window she sent me too only to be told to go to the next window. Wth SERIOUSLY, its just napkins. Had the nachos, burrito, tacos and horchata. Nachos: Boring, just stale chips, cheese sauce and meat. THATS IT. Burrito: Also very underwhelming, the arroz flavorless, beans meh, se les olvido la sal. Skip it! Tacos: Had 2 al pastor tacos. Best part of my order. It was really good, yea the al pastor was a little fatty but it was good. They cant mess up meat, tortilla, onion & cilantro. Horchata: I usually love horchata but theirs is flavorless. I would say skip it the powdered stuff is better. STICK TO JUST TACOS. ANYTHING ELSE GO ELSEWHERE.

Asa B.

Yelp
I just got home after a long drive and a stop at this King taco. I ordered a burrito, Al pastor with no onions.. I absolutely hate raw onions in warm food. After calling my name to the window... she confirms my order once again.... She repeated, no onions.. I said correct... this lady decides to fill my burrito with onions and no meat. Why? What did I do? I paid for my burrito, and got absolute trash. I will never go to this location again. If you get Togo food. Check the inside of the food right there

Yelp
Unpleasant Experience with Manager Manuel B. Garcia at King Taco at 4300 E Olympic Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90023 Date: 06/17/23 Time 6:50pm (1 out of 5 stars) I recently bought some food at King Taco, that left a lot to be desired, primarily due to the unprofessional conduct of their manager "Manuel B. Garcia" My experience was marred by the way the manager handled My situations, which ultimately soured the overall eating experience. From the moment I approached the cashier and the cashier called her manager over to me, it was clear that the manager lacked basic customer service skills. They seemed disinterested and disengaged, failing the lack of a warm welcome set the tone for the evening and left a negative impression. Throughout my interaction with the manager he displayed a noticeable lack of professionalism. It was evident that they were more preoccupied with other matters than attending to customers' needs. Moreover, the manager's communication skills were severely lacking. When approached with a concern about my order wrongfully made, their response was dismissive and unsympathetic. Instead of addressing the issue promptly and finding a solution, they brushed off the complaint, leaving me feeling unheard and disregarded. What bothered me the most was the manager's apparent lack of respect for the Customer "Me". It was disheartening to witness such unprofessional behavior from a person in a leadership position. In summary, my experience at King Taco was disappointing, mainly due to the poor conduct of the manager. Their lack of customer service skills, and disrespectful behavior towards the customers "Me" were major drawbacks. As a result, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others, as the negative impact of the manager's conduct overshadowed any positives the establishment might have had.

Yelp
Not the best tacos I like the one in Ontario better the workers at this location are kind of rude
google avatar

Albert M.

Yelp
Food is good just like any other King Taco. They also have new convenient hours now. They open earlier at 8:30 and close later at 11. Giving more people a chance to grab King Taco before work or simply just earlier. They close at 2 am on weekends now. Check pictures below to see new hours of operation

Claudia M.

Yelp
the servers take too long to give you the food you can see the workers chitchatting and ignoring the orders. I waited more than 10 minutes for a taco ridiculously service, management should do something about it. the tacos on the street are way faster than here very disappointed on king taco.

Vanessa V.

Yelp
25 mins waiting for my food. I ordered two tacos and one sope . Food is good but service is awful.
google avatar

Susan R.

Yelp
I think this place has declined quite a bit over the years. They used to have decent tasting tacos and food. Today, I had their tacos and was disappointed. The service was average. The staff at the window are multi-tasking and not often listening to your order. I had to repeat myself numerous times. When I was finally called for my order, the woman walked away to get my order and took quite some time. I asked for extra salsa and didn't get it. When I finally had my food at the table, the tortillas were cold and hard. It seemed like they gave me someone else's food that was never picked up and sitting on their counter for a bit. It was upsetting, to say the least. The only positive about my food was the jamaica. It was reasonably tasty and not super sweet. Go to another taco spot. I dont think this one is worth it any longer. There are so many taco shops in the area competing for your business that I am sure there are plenty of others with better quality food and service.
google avatar

Karen G.

Yelp
My family and I come to king taco for one thing and one thing only. Carne asada sopes with the green salsa. That's it. The carne asada is cooked with lemon and the green salsa is so yummy. Not super spicy but flavorful. Is this the best street taco? Probably not. With king TACO in the name you would assume the tacos are the star. 'm sure there's better tacos out there in some amazing corner in LA. But the asada sopes is where it's AT! Are they slow at serving yes. Is staff under a lot of pressure to meet demands, yes. Is there a line, most likely always. But, give the sopes a try.
google avatar

Dino D.

Yelp
While waiting to pick up from the uniform place next door, I ordered a snack, one chicken tamale. Then the waiting began. The speaker used to call out orders sounds like a bad muffler, just static. Fully 18 minutes later I got the tamale. Seemed like a lot of people working behind the pick up windows. To many locations and no management makes for bad business.

Maurice L.

Yelp
Food always tastes great. Love the tamales and tacos. Highly recommend this place Carne Asada BurritoChicken TacosChicken Tamale

Yelp
I've been going to King Taco since I was a little kid and it was my first time at this location. A short drive away from the Citadel outlets, this location has a large outdoor dining area which is a nice alternative to dining indoors. If you don't speak Spanish, you might have a difficult time hearing your number being called when your food is ready. You can't go wrong with anything at King Taco and I always load up on a bunch of tacos, specifically carne asada. You can't come here and not order a carne asada taco! I was in the mood for a quesadilla this time and I was disappointed to only see 3 pieces... I could've sworn there was more the last time I got a quesadilla here. Anyhow, I love King Taco and I'm glad I checked out another location!

Santi G.

Yelp
SERVIVE IS BAD! Employees at this fast food restaurant are rude, and it seems like the employees in this restaurant get a deduction in their salary for every SALSA you ask for. They give bad attitude, I was here on Thursday, and the lady who was at the window giving me my order was a total BIT#!! Made a rude comment when I asked for extra salsa. And to top it off, you must check your receipt because they can charge you extra! They didn't take my order correctly. I still have not seen the refund on my account. I don't expect these employees to have manners, but if you are going to take a job that requires working with people. You want people to return, you better be nice to the customers. Very dissapointed will not visiting this place ever again. And if you want to save yourself a bad moment, do not VISIT this king taco.
google avatar

Andry B.

Yelp
Horrible! Got a hair in my food and told the guy in the front and he said " funny how you ate it and then you got a hair" . I was like I'm not asking for my money, I'm only advising you. So rude! little do they know Is an extremely health violation. Never again !!! Worst place!
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Terrible. The worst , found a Hair in my sope when I called to report it and was advised to take the hair back , this place is a joke , worst customer service spoke to the supervisor Jonathan apparently, I will definitely be taking this to LA public health so they take the proper actions against this establishment, I would not want this to happen to anyone it is truly disgusting.

Yelp
Good tasting tacos in a sketchy location. Outside seating only with dirty tables, smog from cars and lots of pigeons. It gets a 3 star review because of the ambiance and service.
google avatar

Mickey H.

Yelp
I haven't stepped foot to a King Taco joint in years and I will keep it that way for a while after ordering their carne asada, suadero and al pastor tacos. The tortilla was cold and tasted old and stiff. The meat was dry and needed the extra salsa verde to soften up. Thinking this was only prevalent to tacos only, we also ordered a suadero burrito with no beans. This too was absolutely dry, flour tortilla tasted stale as well and they were cheap with their meat ratio. I'm better off getting my late night fixes at taco trucks. See yah, never!

Higinio G.

Yelp

Crystal M.

Yelp
They always take FOREVERRRR to prep the food at this location even if it's not busy. They also skimp on the meat for the tacos. Other King tacos I've been to give a good amount of meat compared to this location. They are also way more stingy with the salsa. I ordered 3 burritos, 2 sopes and 4 tacos....they only wanted to give me 5 salsa containers for all that food.

Lourdes P.

Yelp
Los empleados tienen que appender aser amables, comunicarse con la gente con respecto y Profesionalisismo...si pipes Mas salsa...parese que ellos lo venden. Pueden usar mejores palabras Como cuminarse con la gente. El cliente siempre tiene la razon
google avatar

Jesstine G.

Yelp
King Taco is always clutch, but this location is particularly great. Food is consistently amazing and it's really easy to hop on/off the freeway as a quick pit stop. Plenty of (tented) outdoor seating as well so it's Covid-friend
google avatar

Paloma S.

Yelp
I was craving tacos my coworkers talked about this place. First time coming to this location . I was disappointed with the tacos. if you order chicharon tacos don't be surprised if you get the soggy chicharon in salsa. There's a photo on the wall marketing crispy chicharon. I waited in line forever so I can get what I didn't order. I'll never come here again!

Tunowa S.

Yelp
My daughter and I just came here for the first time. We ordered tacos and pork tamales. The Tamales were EXCELLENT! It's hard to find good tamales we're the masa is not dry or unseasoned
google avatar

Kayla D.

Yelp
This establishment has been crowned King to so many ,but doesn't hold the key to my foodie heart. On the upside it does have ample parking, the staff no matter the location is friendly and so are the customers! The food is a little greasy and compared to the local trucks it just can't compare. Food wise I give King Taco 3 out of 5 and for the rest you get 5 Twinkling Stars! **the tacos were good not great ,but did the job! Chicken was my favorite out of the three. **the chicken tamale was a wee bit spicy for me. If your on a budget or have a larger then life family - come here ! For less then 10 dollars you can get 4 tacos! **Tip , the food does take a bit long to come out once ordered so if your in a hurry this isn't the place!
google avatar

Romelia O.

Yelp
Cashier was screaming as she took my order, too fast and rude. Felt like getting screamed at by a prison warden. Then who ever the 'lady' was in window #3 was just a rude and disrespectful to me in front of the rest of the customers. My food was to 'Eat in', yet cashier made it 'to go'. My food was packed to go and very messy. The lady in window 3 said, "Well, it's to go!". Very unconcerned about doing her 'job' effectively and with a good attitude. SMH please baby sit your employee before next time I choose a 'STREET TACO' stand!!
google avatar

Adriana B.

Yelp
Wish they advertise the location is cash only, defeats the purpose of going to an establishment over a taco stand.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place as I have heard great things about the famous king taco and I must say it didn't leave me with a wow experience . I had the al pastor burrito and normally I love al pastor because it's so flavorful. However, that seems to be what was lacking here. The burrito itself was ok but I just felt like it was missing flavor. I added salsa, that always helps but it still wasn't what I expected. The staff was friendly but I don't know if I'd be back for more. To be fair, If you haven't gone, try it. However, I don't know if I'd make the drive down from San Diego for this.
google avatar

Kat V.

Yelp
King Taco is the BEST! I sadly don't live in LA any more but when I'm in LA I have to have me some King Taco. Everything is good here...the tacos, sopes, tamales and chicken it's all so good. The green chili is a must. There usually is a line but it's worth the wait.

Yelp
I've been such a fan of king taco and actually would prefer it than tacos el gavilan or tacos Mexico etc. but after today I don't think I'll be doing much fast food for awhile. I went in to this location with my family. We ordered burritos and aguas frescas. Our usual basically. We had my dog so we respected the signs saying no pets in the eating area (though the security guard insisted my dog could not be allowed near the area) so we ordered our food to go We went to our local park and started eating and to my surprise i got more than just carne asada rice and beAns. There wAs a penny in my burrito. Gross. We went straight back to the place. Expressed our concerns and they mention that they had an incident with a client earlier. If they knew something happened they should have changed out the entire batch of food where money may have fallen. Thankfully we got a refund and we went our way hence the one star. Check your food people.

Jesus D.

Yelp
Food was terrible there was hair 2 tacos when I called back he told me I would have to come in and bring the tacos and was told I would get a refund for my money and when I went back the next day another manager told me it was to late after I came from far and he would only exchange it no refund it nasty tacos .

Erica V.

Yelp
Came here after a night out and I got a burrito de asada. It was the skinniest burrito I ever had. All tortilla hardly any meat or rice. To top it off we put in a big order for 4 and literally got one salsa each and they have no lime. Not sure about anyone else but I love my burrito with a lot of salsa and one is definitely not enough. Personally I would never come back. I prefer taco Mexico. Only came because one of my friends wanted to come here but never again. Was very disappointed. Enough to come share this opinion of mine.
google avatar

Vy L.

Yelp
Came here and picked up for lunch and like most King Taco there's a decent line. When there's a line the food are not disappointing and King Taco are known for their red sauce.
google avatar

Temo M.

Yelp
This place has very slow service and poor management I would not recommend getting food at this location.
google avatar

Freddie L.

Yelp
The food is great and enjoyable. However, very poor customer service and to attend waiting customers. They really need to have two employees at the register and the other employees take the food prepared and ready to go for the customers.
