Google
Iconic venue, friendly atmosphere, good for a quick drink or a gig. Great support for upcoming artists go see some bands you have never heard of, buy a ticket, take a chance, unearth a musical gem. Some of the biggest names in music have graced the stage at Tutts at some point in their musical journey, go pay it a visit and see if you find the next big thing

Phil Chesterton

Google
A great and iconic music venue. The main bar area has plenty of seating and a good range of drinks, including craft beers on draught. They also have a decent selection of zero or very low alcohol beers, which is handy if you've driven to see a band. Upstairs is the performance area with its own bar. It's small, capacity is only around 300, giving it an intimate vibe and a great atmosphere. The risers on the stairs have the names of bands that have performed at King Tut's over the years. There are lots and you'll have heard of the vast majority. Loads of parking on the surrounding streets and if you arrive after 6pm it's free. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on that but everything else about the place is spot on.

Google
Clearly one of the best bars in town Some mythical bands have played there The gig room is really nice with good acoustics and good bands playing

Google
Attended my first gig at this lovely location last night. My mobility and capacity has been in decline the past couple of years but I still love live music. The staff and services provided last night not only made that possible but an absolute pleasure. Was sat in a comfortable area near the sound desk ( alongside my partner thanks to the companion ticket 🖤✨️ ) which provided shelter but didn't shield me from a wonderful view of the stage or the energy from the crowd. Early entry and escort was provided so wouldn't get rushed or overwhelmed on the stairs. Just absolute star studded team and venue 🙌🙌 Special thanks to Richard who sorted that & checked on us throughout the night 🤘

Google
Fabulous music venue and bar. We were there for the music and it's a great set up. Small, intimate with great sound and lights. We saw 2 fabulous bands too. Buy tickets online and part of your purchase is donated to Nordoff-Robbins, the music therapy charity. Brilliant

Google
It's supposed to be a great music venue but it was quite when we went on a Friday evening. Very unkind staff. You know when the staff makes you feel like you need to be honored that they serve you a pint? Would try again on a gig night where the staff attitude is less important.

Google
It’s been a long while since I was last in here and it’s a bit different from what I remember. The bar area is lovely, great framed posters on the walls and great music on the playlist. Music venue is smaller than I remember but the sound was great and the atmosphere was spot on.

Google
Here for Isaac Gracie gig, venue is perhaps a little on the small side but it is intimate, and concerts do tend to be very much on the cheaper side. Not tonight but I have been here in the past and the event was ruined by folks talking in the bar. Booze at the bar is a tad on the pricey side. And again tonight to see Lo Moon, as I’ve said it’s intimate, so much so two of main act band members were standing next to me watching part of the support act.

Yelp
What is there to do on a Sunday evening in Scotland? King Tut's Wah Wah Hut! It has that cool, underground indie bar/club feel. There's a bar for all kinds of drinks and in the back is a concert room for up-and-coming local and international bands and artists. The venue is a bit small, but makes you feel closer to the artists. It has a very mellow, sweet vibe. I would want to check it out on a Friday or Saturday. Tickets are 2 for £15 on a Sunday. What were you planning on doing anyway? Sleeping early? Check out this scene.

Yelp
Cute little bar with a live venue. I found this place on the internet before I came to Glasgow and it's a specific theme. The drinks are well priced and it's pretty chill.

Yelp
I stumbled across King Tut's Wah Wah Hut because it was close to my hotel, but I could not have been more happy with what I found. They had live music - 3 acts for just £8! The music was all great (maybe it was the beer talking) and the crowd was great too. I'm from the USA, so I found the beer extremely cheap (i think £3 for a can). There is a £5 minimum charge for credit. I had a great night and would have liked to visit King Tut's more.

Yelp
Got to see Elvis Perkins and his band perform at this intimate, old school venue. The home of the infamous Oasis gig where they lied to get onstage. Coming here was definitely a bucket list moment. It was amazing to go in and have a pint, see a live band and make lifelong friends. I like the way the venue is set up: Walk into a bar with seating and just behind the bar before taking the steps to room with stage is another little seating area. This is a place that is always busy and always packed. Prices are reasonable and staff are accommodating, patient and friendly.

Yelp
This place is dope! We were in Glasgow on vacation and did a quick google search for evening activities such as a show or concert. So glad that King Tut's Wah Wah Hut popped up! We saw that Jon Allen was performing, listened to a few of his songs, liked his style, and *boom* bought tickets. They were really affordable at 15pounds per ticket. They've had many legit artists perform here, with some popular names displayed along their steps (e.g. Jason Mraz, Coldplay, Hozier, etc). Absolutely love small intimate venues; the acoustics were on point and the performance was great! There was also an opening act by a new artist -unfortunately can't recall his name but he was quite endearing and had good music. If you have an opportunity to see a gig here - DO IT!

Yelp
King Tut's is undoubtedly a Glasgow institution. I have no idea why I haven't visited it more often and I think I have to put it down to being spoilt for choice. When hundreds of independent artists play here every month it's hard to choose which gig to actually attend unless you happen to know one of the artists or if a friend is organising the outing. That's a shame, because it's fun. It's busy and boisterous and the main stage area upstairs is quite small and intimate. The crowds get really into the music and seem to always attend each gig with optimism and a huge amount of energy. Because it's so busy it can take a while to get served at the bar but the prices are far from extortionate for a music venue. I've not tried the food so I can't comment on that but for music the atmosphere is hard to beat. Of course, whether you'll enjoy the music very much depends on the bands playing so maybe it is worth pouring over listings and checking out music online before you book tickets, but I think it would be hard to not have fun here so long as you arrive with an open mind. Speaking of tickets, booking online is smart - you can often get them from the bar downstairs on the night but you'll pay extra to do so. Even smarter is buying them directly from the bands if you happen to know them, because they can sometime sell them at a discount.

Yelp
Despite living in the same street and only a short distance walk from my home for nearly seven years this was my first time here. I've always thought this place as music venue than also a cafe bar. I was walking home and saw the rain in the distance intact a heavy down pour coming my way & thought l would never make it home in time, so came in for some well deserved lunch. There was only a few people in the bar with some eating pizza, lunch menu was small but adequate for lunch, I opted for the meal deal that was soup and a sandwich, cream of mushroom and a tuna salad sandwich, In most places that l have been in the past you struggle to find any filling, this one was loaded plus the salad. The bar is quite trendy & modern with plenty if items & art work on the wall to look at. On ordering the service was quick with the food ok around average. I've never been to a gig here so cannot comment as a venue.

Yelp
I hadn't been to King Tut's in many, many years. I was kinda worried what I would find when I returned this week. Would it be neutered by corporate meddling, as a lot of successful places sway towards? Would it be living on past memories? The answer to that, faithful gig goer, is no. Not one little bit. It's still as cool and as welcoming as it ever was, and still one of the finest gig venues in the country. Split into two distinct parts, the downstairs bar is cosy, featuring plenty of seats, a pool table, and a damn fine bar including a specially King Tut's lager brewed by local beer kings WEST brewery. Nearer gig time, it will get a bit busy, but the staff must be used to it, they do a fine job. When it's gig time, you venture upstairs, and there's another, smaller bar, with a helpful TV over it trained on the stage. Get your drink, then head into the main part of the venue. It's small. It's cramped, it's hot and sweaty, and it's brilliant. The sound is excellent, the atmosphere is unparalleled anywhere in Glasgow, in my humble opinion, and with the right band, it's a hell of a night. One tip? Don't wear a white shirt. You will sweat, it will go see through, and you will be embarrassed.

Yelp
I could gush about this cracking little intimate music venue, but the other reviewers do that so well. So I'm just going to go ahead and leave four complimentary stars for the glorious sweat-fest of live music that is Tut's. It's going to get lively; it's going to get real warm; you're going to love every second. There's a reason why Tut's is loved, both by locals and visitors alike. It's just shy of the almighty five for several reasons; staff on the door were a little grouchy and the drinks a tad expensive. Gigs tend to finish after 11. This wasn't a problem for me but, if you're travelling that bit further to and from the gig, it could be a late one. Regardless, it's safe to say that King Tut's is a bit of a Glasgow legend!

Yelp
How often have I wandered past here and wanted to go inside? Just the other day, I had the perfect opportunity. My friends band WhiteCliff (go check them out, they're pretty amazing) opened their UK tour at King Tuts. The venue is tiny, and there is a bar downstairs and then you go upstairs and I can only imagine what it must be like when it's absolutely packed with people. The stage is decently sized and the room feels so intimate. The purple "green room" is a little desolate but it does the job. I want to come here more often.

Yelp
I would say this is the best small music venue in Glasgow.. Well known for 'where oasis was discovered' king tuts is more than that.. It's an amazing venue with lots of character.. Downstairs is the bar area plenty tables to sit at and they have a great food menu.. Upstairs is the stage I'm not sure of the capacity but I think it's a few hundred.. You go up the stairs on your left is the bar and usually the merchandise area and then to the right is the stage.. It is hot and sweaty, which makes you feel closer to the band.. Around the edges there are benches which are good fit standing on for a better view.. There is a raised area at the back.. I love tuts and all is small venue charms, highly recommended.. I love the stairs leading up to the venue which has the names of bands that have played there in the past that have made it big..

Yelp
Hot and sticky with sweat dripping from the roof and you'll be sweltering in 30 seconds. A tiny, hard to navigate venue which is (usually) heaving with people. Sounds like a lot of bad things - but King Tut's makes it work. For a live music venue, I think it's hard to rival King Tut's. There is live music every single night (or very close to that often) and while I've not played band potluck in a while, I have seen a shed-load of gigs here. All of them have been awesome, no matter how dire the act on stage actually is. I think King Tut's is one place that has a consistently good atmosphere for seeing bands, no matter how packed and hot it can get. My preferred standing space is either on the stairs, or right at the very back of the room on the seats. There have been a couple of gigs when I've left at the end of the main set purely because of the heat which can make me feel a bit sick - but that's all part and parcel of seeing a band at King Tut's. I can't comment on the bar prices or food as I haven't eaten or drunk here in a very long time but the door staff for the gigs are always friendly and will try to attach your wristband as delicately as possible. The toilets aren't much to rave about but for a live music venue they are definitely cleaner than most. My one gripe about this place is having to walk through the smokers on the way out, for some reason the design of the frontage seems to trap more smoke than most places so it can be a suffocating haze.

Yelp
Probably one of the coolest venues for music in Glasgow. I went a few days ago to see Gramatik and the place was absolutely buzzing! This is where the music intelligentia of Glasgow meets, and you'll find all sorts of (admittedly young) folks there, from different backgrounds and styles. From the art school student to the IT geek, from the young office worker to the tourist visiting for just a couple of days: everyone has heard about Kin Tut's and wants to go! I managed spending 3,5 years in Glasgow without going: it was about time I made a move. The Gramatik concert was really great. The support artist was a fun hip hop/electro version of Michael Jackson (yes, this exists), and Gramatik just gave an amazing performance. We were dancing and bouncing up and down the whole night! The bar has a decent selection of drinks - I went for cans (yes, CANS, I know this is weird) of Desperados. They did their job! The only minus thing I'd have to mention is that the venue is really small, and so popular that you have to be ready to be a bit cramped and possibly get some drinks spilled on you....but that never kept me from enjoying my night! A definite must go for a good gig!
google avatar

Yelp
Mention King Tuts to my Mr and you'll be subjected to 20 minutes of puns and jokes; mention it to anyone else in Glasgow and you'll be treated to stories of who they saw here before they were famous. I think I'm one of the few who haven't! The bar part had a bit of a revamp a few years back - the menu has been gastro'd up and they do some pretty good, reasonably priced burgers. We most recently gigged here on Friday (Jack Garrettt - seriously, look him up). The place was heaving, with a typically boisterous and good natured Glaswegian crowd. The only reason this is a 4 star review is because their beer was on a par with the Barrowlands in terms of not niceness. Good times!

Yelp
Can't compliment the lovely staff can't do enough, nothing was too much bother for them. We we treated to a wee set, during our food from a support band. As a venue King Tuts is a smashing place to see a band, you're guaranteed that up close and personal experience, tremendous.

Yelp
The word "institution" gets bandied about often but in the case of King Tuts, it is justified. This is partly, of course, due to the story that has now gone down in rock and roll history; a baldy man popped by Tuts one quiet evening and was enchanted by a working class guitar band, fronted by two heavy eyebrowed brothers, playing to an empty room as if their life depended on it. Everyone knows how the story ends; that man was Alan McGhee and the band were Oasis. However, King Tut's was the first place to introduce local, national and foreign bands of a certain calibre playing live every night at a reasonable price. It used to be that if you wanted to see live music in Glasgow, Tut's was the only place to go. Hard to believe in a city now filled with gig venues. Tut's truly was groundbreaking.
google avatar

Darryl R.

Yelp
There's not much to say here really except that NME got it right when they said that King Tuts is possibly the finest small venue in the UK, if not the world. Everyband I have seen in this venue have gone onto bigger and better things - the bookers definately have got it right. I love watching bands here - the atsmosphere rivals that of the Barrowlands (see my previous review). It's a great place to be, and to be seen, if you're a band that is. The first Sunday of every month is YourSound - a night when local bands get their demos showcased, and people from the music industry stop by to share their wisdom, and judge the talent. The winner is then put into the final competition, where the winner is signed to King Tuts record label. Nice prize, right? Anyway, to sum up, the drinks are inexpensive, the bar staff are awesome, and the tunes are good, what more could you want? But while we're talking about Tuts....has anyone ever guessed, correctly, all of the song lyrics on the walls!? Go on, try it.

Yelp
While still a fantastic venue in its own right, King Tut's has suffered ever so slightly in recent years through the emergence of similar sized venues in the city. Indeed, when once it was the only stop for catching up and coming bands, it's probably fair to say it struggles to attract the caliber of acts it once did. However that doesn't mean catching a gig here isn't as good as it always was. Holding just 300 people, the set-up at Tut's is second to none. While the downstairs bar is peppered with gig posters and retains the cutting edge vibe (and fantastic jukebox) that ensures it's a great night spot for a couple of drinks, gig or not, a packed show upstairs is too too warm and too sweaty - everything it should be. Perhaps detracting from the rock n roll vibe is the fact that Tut's also does a roaring trade through office lunches and has gained a strong reputation for it's hearty, well priced menu.

Yelp
This is the dream... for years i had heard about shows at king tuts and i couldnt believe my eyes when i finally got there. Great place, great beer and most importantly, great shows... the bar staff were over the top friendly to a portly australian looking for tickets to shows. wish this was my local... gold

Yelp
King Tut's is a renowned Glasgow music venue for smaller indie gigs (capacity 300), and has a history of hosting up and coming bands on the verge of breakthrough success as well as special gigs for larger acts. It's a fairly intimate venue, the atmosphere is usually pretty good with a fun crowd and the bars upstairs and downstairs are well stocked. The thing I don't like about Tut's is that the crowd spills out of the main room and round into the bar area where views of the stage and sound are diminished, though if you're lucky you can grab a spot on the raised area for a better view. There's a 'cloakroom' upstairs (really just a clothes rail behind the bar), which you'll probably want to use as the venue tends to get a bit hot and sweaty. The bar area downstairs is pretty cool and food is available.

Yelp

Yelp
Blah, Blah, institution, blah, blah, Oasis, blah, blah, Creation Records.....ok before we go on i would just like to state for the record that i hate Oasis, hate em, with a passion, you know that noise when someone scrapes there nails down a blackboard? that blood curdling, ass clenching horror of an audio assault?? Yeah, that's what i listen to when i want o get an Oasis song out of my head.......boo!! Ok, i have vented enough, now on with the show!!! King Tuts is a kick ass joint and one that begs to be visited by any tourist, yelp scout, martian, ghost or even Oasis fan....only kidding Liam lovers, piss of to Firewater and give the rest of us a break....best band since the Beatles?? Setting the bar a little low on that one ain't we?? Ok, so i may still be a little riled up, but i'll do my best for the remainder of the review. If you could draw up a template for the perfect pub, it would pretty much read: Copy King Tut's. Now that's just in terms of the actual layout of the place......Basement bar, plenty of seats, well stocked bar, pool table and decent jukebox. Upstairs, bar, gig venue.....add a bouncey castle to that layout and you've either killed me or are interrupting in my day dreams...either way, come in and shut the door. King Tut's....your welcome beer.

Yelp
I LOVE KING TUTS. I can't hold back, guys - it's awesome. Its claim to fame, as everyone knows, is that Oasis had their breakthrough gig here. Many bands from all over the world have had a similar story - Tuts seems to reel in talented bands on the cusp of fame. It's just as good for seeing local bands since it offers great acoustics and a surprising amount of space when you consider the petite size of it. The size makes for great intimate gigs, and it's a good joint for local bands to bring the house down with their tunes. There's a bar upstairs and downstairs, so even if you're not here to see a band you can stop by for a couple of pints. Its dingy, broody interior makes it popular with all generations of music lovers. It's got a hell of a lot of history, which is displayed on the new timeline they have running up their stairs. It's quite remarkable to think of how many bands have stepped through their doors, but I like the fact it still stays true to its underground roots without ever getting up its own ass.

Yelp
A Glasgow institution, King Tuts is a must-go if you're a music fan. It's one of the best places to see local bands at the start of their career, national and international bands of a certain size, as well as larger bands occasionally playing wee secret gigs for fans only. As far as the important things go, it's good. You're always guaranteed a good view of the band (the stage is wee, but high up enough that you can see the band), and for busier gigs, the mezzanine area is a better place to see the band without getting crushed by the crowd. The sound is also good for a venue that size, and they are always good at not putting the volume up too loud so it gets all distorted. It can get a wee bitty warm though, so much so that I've seen gigs get stopped early because the sweat dripping off the ceiling has shorted the soundboard! Also, bear in mind that a lot of the gigs finish late (11:30), so if you're dependent on public transport you may have to leave early. Prices for gigs are pretty decent (anything over £15 is taking the piss), and the drinks are pretty well priced. Downstairs, the bar area has had a wee spruce-up and is looking lovely. I particularly like the concert posters they have used to decorate the place, especially as I have a few similar ones at home. To be honest, I only ever come here before gigs, mainly because it isn't that close to many other places. I've had the food before, and it's half decent pub grub; nothing to write home about, but pretty good. It deserves the 5 stars mainly because it's the kind of place that you can go to and enjoy a gig without the venue becoming an issue - you won't be huffing that you paid too much for it, that you can't see the band, that the room sounded bad or that you couldn't get a pint. Whether you have a good time at King Tut's is definitely down to the band...

Yelp
King Tut's is a magical den of hope. Hope that all people will listen to good music. King Tut's doesn't judge you. because once you have made the decision to enter King Tut's you are deemed awesome just for having made the decision to enter. King Tut's may or may not be the father of the next immaculate conception. King Tut's accepts all people old and young, old and new (weird that we don't have two words for old, makes it confusing). There were all types of people at King Tut's. Just kidding, there were all types of white people at King Tut's and maybe like one 1/2 black dude, an Asian American girl and two British-Indian guys. Still, for Scotland that's impressive. There were tall AND short people there too. Mixed crowd. While skanky bitches and sporty douche bags in high school were busy getting to third base at make out parties YOU - Future King Tut customer - were busy doing your homework and/or listening to Radiohead and crying secretly and/or memorizing words to musicals and/or playing WoW and/or reading Jane Eyre and daydreaming and/or wearing all black and being in love with Good Charlotte. YOUR TIME HAS COME. You will find yourself at King Tut's and you realize that high school (and/or secondary school) was NEVER the threshhold of coolness, King Tut's Wah Wah Hut is.

Yelp
Now this review might be a bit unfair, but it is what it is. My friend and I came here for a drink on a Friday evening. He works near here and recommended their branded beer "tuts" It was sunny and there was a gig on so it was packed with hip young things. Now I'm no scientist but I think the temperature inside was reminiscent of the sun's core. We stayed outside and sat on the steps. Pretty inconvenient as we were in everyone's way but outside was busy so there wasn't really anything else for it. We got ushered inside at 9 pm because of their licence but by that time we had had enough. Fortunately students are poor so despite being busy we got a beer no problem. I got my pint in a plastic cup. That's right a plastic cup, fair enough it is a venue for gigs, however, if it is serving joe public along s ide the gig goers it should be serving joe public properly. I thought the pint of tuts was terrible and the plastic cup didn't help. I wouldn't count this place out for a gig. However, I will not be coming back here for a drink.

Yelp
I cannot fault the place. It is possibly the best live venue in Scotland. Music is what you make of it. If there is a band you know or love then this is the place to see them. King tut's has a long history of big bands breaking through here and there is a good reason, The hot and sweaty stage area has an incredible atmosphere, small enough to get a good crowd in but to feel all the atmosphere. Great sound and the bands all seem to love playing in there. Food is great, nice burgers and everything looks delicious. The drinks selection are ok but I have had much worse. Staff are all nice and very helpful. It is worth getting a drink in before embarking up stairs for the gig you are going to see. Bar upstairs can get very busy during breaks in the performance but you won't miss a note while being there.

Yelp
Burger Lunch, March 2015 The burger market in Glasgow is somewhat saturated but I am in no way bored of aiming to consume a burger once a week (or more often!). I'd heard mumblings from people saying they'd had a tasty burger from Tut's and, if I'm honest, I did not expect them to be on a par with specialist burger joints littering the City Centre. Don't get me wrong, I've eaten at Tut's half a dozen times or so and enjoyed every meal but my hunch was that the burger would be good, but surpassed by the brioche bun wielding experts. I was wrong. The Tut's Classic Burger (patty with caramelised onions and mature cheddar) was excellent. The meat was very juicy and flavoursome whilst the caramelised onions added a lovely sweet flavour which the mature cheddar cheese complimented beautifully. After taking a couple of bites I had to try and get another photo (see my blog) to try and illustrate just how juicy (without being too drippy and, well, wet) this champion was. Served on the side were tasty fries, slaw and pickled cucumber (which I liked but Mrs G was not too keen on). I love a pickle and inserted the cucumber into the burger to add a sharpness; fantastic! They do a deal on Monday and Tuesday for 2 burgers and 2 drinks for a tenner. Get your ass down there if you've not yet had the joy of a Tut's burger. Up there with the best in Glasgow.

Yelp
Spent most of Friday in here last week, I would've been sooner if I'd known it was a bar open through the day! Will def go back with friends, very cool wee joint. Seemed to be a good mix of people, I was worried it may be like Sleazys now and clichqy but it seemed cool. The gig area upstairs is very small but did seem to hold a lot of folk. If you like Ales try the West King Tuts beer, nice an fruity beer! I had a Mexican burger with chips, was great. Some may think it could be a bit plain but I loved it after a good few beers!

Yelp
Amazing gig venue! Went to see Rae Morris there about a month ago, food upstairs is also great for a bite beforehand. Would recommend getting there early though if you want a good spot, not the biggest of venues but nice and intimate!

Yelp
Kick. Ass. I was visiting Glasgow and my friend told me some buds of his were playing a gig and we should go see it. Hell yeah, take me to a rock show! We came here and it did not disappoint. The wall had a list of upcoming acts, a good mix of local and well known. Its always great to see a venue that appreciates and knows that balance of that kind is what makes the music industry what it is. The sound for the gig wasn't the best I've heard, but for such a small place, it does quite well. If I ever make it back to Glasgow I will go here again no matter what.

Yelp
Went for the gig on Wednesday. Paid £6 for it although I remembered that the website stated £5. The person at the bar where you get the ticket said that it's cheaper to get the tickets from the website although I vaguely recalled that there's a ticket surcharge for booking the tickets online. There were 3 bands who played at the gig. They were generally good - it depends on your music preferences. Vibe was good. Most if not all of the folks seem to be enjoying themselves and the music including us. For £6, I thought it's money well spent. Drinks seem expensive though. We paid £3.95 (bar at the ground floor) or £4.05 (bar at the gig) for a pint of Guiness.

Yelp
An institution. Already planning a trip to Glasgow? Check the listings and get yourself along to a gig. Not planning a trip to Glasgow but one of your favourite bands announce a tour with a King Tut's show? Get tickets to that date and start making plans for a holiday to Glasgow! Downstairs (Main bar, eating space) serves good draught beer and quality pub food selections - our group often have a pre-gig dinner in Tut's before seeing a show upstairs. Smaller bar upstairs, where the gig space is located. In a sell out, it'll be tight and sweaty and completely incredible. Look out for King Tut's New Years Revolution / King Tut's Summer Nights series' where each night for 2 weeks they host a collection of 3 or 4 upcoming local bands. A really great way to see a host of new bands.

Yelp
Small intimate venue with a fantastic history of bands that have played before. Excellent place for a gig!

Yelp
A cracking venue that gets some surprisingly well known acts in at times. Upstairs venue so there are issues with disabled access, in case that's an issue for you. Sound is good, layout is nice and the beer is top notch if a little pricey. Staff are really cool as well. HINT: buy your gig tickets direct from the venue and you won't pay a booking fee. Given that the only alternative is TicketMaster and you could be saving a fiver simply by popping in.

Yelp
King Tuts is a great venue for live music. Last time I was here for a gig was Jeffrey Lewis, easily one of the best performances I've seen. So many amazing bands have stopped by here it's astounding. The draught beers are good and the bar staff are lively enough. They should be, it's a great pub. The reputation for amazing great music is what sustains the pub and the atmosphere amongst music lovers is electric prior to a good gig in there. When a gig is on though, it is packed. It's not a big venue and when big acts like Primal Scream make an appearance, it is guaranteed to sell out. It can get a bit claustrophobic and testing when you go to the bar to get a drink. I wouldn't necessarily go unless there was a gig on, but it's a great place regardless and worth investigating.

Yelp
I do like a gig at King Tuts, with its dingy underground atmosphere and impressive musical offerings. Some of the best gigs have taken place here, from small lesser known local bands to some of the biggest acts around. Tuts has built up quite a reputation as a highly respected musical venue, and quite rightly so. When my boyfriends band played here, they were spotted and received a very complimentary review in The Herald, proving that it really is the place to be and be seen in the music world.

Yelp
Probably Scotland's best known small(er) gig venue - King Tuts is a genuine institution and whilst, in the eyes of many, it has lost its edge with mainstream acceptance, it still is a right of passage to local and touring bands alike. I HUGE recommendation to any one visiting Tut's for a gig for the first time is to get there super early, especially if its sold out (which they often are). There is a near nil stage view opportunity to anyone forced to hang to the right hand side of the stage. Ess

Yelp
One of Glasgow's best venues that matches anything London has to offer. King Tut's is where you see bands before they blow up. At only about 300 capacity, it's a nice intimate club, but when it's sold out, it's packed to the gills. Still, regardless of how many people are there, the sound is amazing whether you're in front of the speakers or outside the main room. The only drawback to this place is that if it is really crowded the only place you'll have a good view from is either right in front of the stage or right next to the soundboard (and yeah, the soundboard takes up loads of space, but for a good reason). There's limited seating in the main room, which is good for the times when you care more about sitting than seeing, or works as a nice means to see over taller people's heads. There's also a decent though small bar downstairs from the live room, perfect for when you're not ready to go home after a gig.

Yelp
Fantastic venue for smaller, up and coming bands. It consists of a bar as you enter which is friendly and fun. At the back of the bar and upstairs is the venue. It is small and intimite, so close to the band and on the same level as the stage is not high and the atmosphere is usualy fantastic, good sound too. King Tut's is a laid back, no heirs and graces place, the staff are pleasant and helpfull and the food is reasonably priced, varried and tasty. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
Reminds me on one in London, when I was there, and then I was walking about in Glasgow with mates, and I just gazed and SAW that King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, I screamed, and said yes, oohh, lala, wah wah hut, and told them all to go in there, and I have tried it, and I lush it. So we all went in for the first time, well second time for me! and they all have enjoyed it and they said it is a brilliant place to eat. bit expensive but our stomaches have filled up and it was well worth the treat and the services are excellent. It offers a great variety of choices on the menu

Yelp
A Glasgow music institution! A great place to check out the next big thing, or just hang out downstairs an enjoy a pint or three. You wouldn't know it from looking at it from the outside, but King Tuts is a real gem in a saturated market of gig venues in Glasgow. When it is full to capacity (about 250 I think) it has an amazing atmosphere. I've been to gigs there where there have been 15 or 20 people and the vibe is not the same - the crowd makes the place what it is. A must see place for all real music fans.

Yelp
One of the best venues I have ever been to. King Tuts quite rightfully claims to be the best small venue in Scotland, and I really can't fault it. Had a great first time experience with a few friends, having arrived early for a great up and coming band's gig, had a good meal and some drinks, all reasonably priced. The bartender even made a drink that wasn't on the menu at my request, and all staff were very friendly and polite. The gig was wonderful, as with any crowded venue if you want a good view, get there early. Unlike many bigger venues, there never seemed to be any problems with the sound and overall it was just a great atmosphere. Even if you can't find a band you already know playing there, pick one at random and they're likely to be pretty good, judging by artists they've hosted in the past. Even if they aren't you'll enjoy the place.

Yelp
Only one thing to add here, something that's vital to everyone going to see a gig. The Air Con has been broke for a year and it can get dangerously hot inside. To the point of condensation droplets fall from the roof like rain. Dress lightly.

Yelp
Visited this place during a soccer match (thats right, im a yank) and little did I know that I would be listening to some good old fashioned Jazz. That day most of the patrons were elderly... I'd say around 60+. It was kind of a nice change of pace. Everyone was very friendly including the bartenders and the old gentleman who let us share a table with him. The history of the place make it really interesting. an altogether nice vibe and establishment

Yelp
This review should have been up a week ago but I'm currently living it up in Barcelona and only now have I stopped darting about to get something down in writing. King Tuts is a much loved music venue, one I spent many a sweaty night in as band showcased their talents either on their way up or on their way down. Something that has been part of Tuts evolution has been its food menu, I've been in a couple of times before but this was pre-Yelp and so when a work lunch trip was on the cards a new review beckoned. First things first at lunch time invariably you have to book, especially on a Friday, that may or may not have something to do with the massive office across the road(it does!). One of the joys of booking is that you can preorder up to 11.30 on the day of your meal, excellent when time is tight. I went for a chicken burger with bacon, bbq sauce and smoked cheddar, of course holding the tomato. Firstly the bun was sesame brioche and came from city centre bakery Seb & Mili it was soft and golden. All the toppings were on the burger and complemented a well grilled chicken breast perfectly. The house relish is a bit of a let down as tasted like something you'd get in a squeeze bottle but it still adequately did the job. Everyone at our table went for sweet potato over normal fries and these were just as you would expect. Overall I was pleased with my lunch and it ticked all the boxes. Solid work. Anyway back to the tapas.

Yelp
By far one of the coolest venues in Glasgow. I've been fortunate to see some amazing acts here from metal to hip-hop to soul and I've never had a bad time. The place is cramped & sweaty at the best of times, but it's part of the charm of this Glaswegian institution. West brew King Tut's own beer which at £3.30 is inoffensive and perfectly acceptable to cool you down & get you dancing. Since my last visit they've tarted up the bar area, getting rid of the pool table & opening up a couple more tables. Although upstairs is just as cramped as the bar, there's enough space to squeeze through when you need to. I think part of the charm of this venue is that you can see bands on the way up & down from stardom as well as a number of bands which aren't on everyone's radar. Tur's occupies that healthy middle ground which goes to show why Glasgow's music scene is one of the best in the UK.
