Bring cash!! Cheap, very casual OG type of Taiwanese dishes. Our friends suggested this place for Taiwanese pork chops $13.95! Hole in the wall/ghetto fab type joint with the owner chiling in the front dining area with a lawn chair and fan haha No restroom. Aycdrink cold water and tea, and hot tea in the front of the cashier area. They don't take credit cards. The place seems like it could be sticky but tables and chairs were clean. There is ac inside was cool enough for a hot 85F day outside. Bamboo shoot $7.95 was warm and good. Popcorn chicken. They ran out of pigs ear. Their popcorn chicken was really good! Not spicy. Pork Chop Rice $13.95. Comes with rice and veggies. The pork chop was a little dry but the crisp was there. Probably because it's a thinner cut type which is normal perfect then. All 3 dishes with tax, and 20% dinner tip to be $39ish.

Google
This is the spot for authentic Taiwanese style pork chops! You’ll love it if you into mom and pop food that is cooked and served with love. Be patient, they are busy and set your expectations given this is only run by 2 people. Amazing food, fair prices and easy to get to.

We started our dinner around 6:00 pm. Not too many customer inside. Very comfortable environment and owner is really nice. Oh and the most important thing is food is decent, very Taiwanese, no doubts. Will come to this restaurant again.

I had a regrettable experience at Kingchops. The service was downright terrible, with the staff displaying a clear attitude problem. It's evident that they dislike their jobs. The food, to put it bluntly, was far from impressive, and I doubt I'll ever return to this establishment."

Google
If I can give it 0 stars i would, when i came in, no greetings whatsoever, i took my own chair and took the menu on my own (note that at this time there is no server in sight) when i wanted to order i needed to go back near the cashier to call the person. I ordered the egg fried rice and damn that rice was soaked in maybe 1/2 inch of oil, when i asked the owner, he said that its normal, no apologies or anything When i payed, he kept saying “this is not including tip okay” over and over insisting tip even when he didnt do anything, even when i left he didn’t say anything let alone said thank you, he was to busy talking to his friend. Horrible service very not recommended. Food was also bland and so oily. Im still astonished at how this restaurant could get 4 stars from 70+ reviewers.

Google
Hands down the worst service in Rowland area. When to order a take out, while I was waiting I asked the lady what’s the popular order she said just decide myself. Then I asked if I can have a cup of water, she said no it’s only for dine in. At check out she added 1 dollar to the bill when I asked she said credit card has to be over $20 to not get charge extra. Wtf how are they still open, never go! I never left a negative review but this….

Yelp
Kingchop nails it with their Pork Chop Sauerkraut Noodles 排骨酸菜面--this is exactly how it's done in Taiwan! The crispy, juicy fried pork chop pairs perfectly with the tangy, flavorful broth and springy noodles. The sauerkraut adds just the right amount of crunch and acidity, balancing everything beautifully. Don't forget to add special vinegar to the chop !

Yelp
Came here for a friend's recommendation. Born and raised in Taiwan, I have to check this place as everyone is giving a positive review. Cozy and welcoming. I was quickly seated as there was not too many people. The dining area is not very large but comfortable enough. I ordered their famous fried pork chops and Taiwanese meat ball. Pork chop is freshly deep fried, crispy on the outside and quite tender and juicy on the inside, close to how I remember it in Taiwan. The meat ball skin is pretty good, not too chewy, and the minced pork is seasoning well. Overall it was a fun and enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
This review is so long overdue. My family and I used to come here consistently and it does not disappoint. This restaurant is small and family owned. Trust me when I tell you that their pork chops and specifically the fried chicken leg is so much more superior than any other Taiwanese restaurant I've ever been to. I don't know how they are able to achieve such flavor, tenderness, and crispiness of the meat. Super good! And it comes with sides that varies every day. This time it came with ma po tofu and veggies. The meal always comes with an egg. I crave their food all the time and I'm sad that I don't live that close to Rowland heights anymore, but whenever I'm in this area, I will always consider this place as one of my meal choices.

Yelp
Definitely some of the best Taiwanese pork chops you can get in LA. Pork chop had nicely crispy outside and achieved that perfect flavor you find with Taiwanese pork chops. Although their pork chop was really good, their fried chicken leg tasted even better in my opinion. Popcorn chicken was fine. Their rice and noodle soup tasted standard. I liked the service. It's gonna be hard to search for another restaurant in LA that does Taiwanese pork chops better than this place. So search no further and just come here!

George L.

Yelp
Got the pork chop and noodles. The soup was not that salty and the pork was crispy. The picked greens were tasty and added great flavor. Don't expect much service or a super clean place and your expectations won't be dashed.

Cecilia C.

Yelp
Came to get my pick up. While I got to the store, I waited by the cashier for my order. I figured I would get a cup and get water, which is right next to the cashier. As I grabbed the paper cup, the (rude) lady yells from INSIDE the kitchen: There's no water for pick up orders. (Geez, super Nazi!) Their pork chop is good, but will definitely make an effort to never come back. Update: Just started eating our take out and my son just told me there's a hair in his pork chop. Time to ask the health department to check their sanitation.

Yelp
This is so good. WOW ! Best noddle and chops I've had anywhere in the valley. Thank you. I'll be back with my best friends.

Yelp
Authentic, delicious Taiwanese food at a very affordable price. Service is great despite only two people running the restaurant. Ambiance is casual like a mom and pop Chinese restaurant. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Worst, worst customer service i have ever seen. The restaurant is dirty, the back kitchen is very dirty and disgusting. The lady with short hair seems very angry working there . After ordering the togo order, I asked if there is a bathroom available? A short-haired woman said in unfriendly eyes and tone: in the back! To be honest, after looking at the kitchen, I don't want to come here again. It's very dirty and messy... This short-haired woman seems to be very reluctant to work Unless she is the boss's wife, no one is willing to hire such an employee. They don't even give a cup water for taking out customers.

Yelp

Yelp
Food: - pork chop meal: 7/10, pork chop was tender and deboned, came with 2 sides (lettuce and mapo tofu) and minced pork rice - unlimited teas! Service: - friendly wait staff - freshly made meal (a bit of wait time but not too long, around 10-15 minutes) Ambiance: - homey - lots of parking

Hong N.

Yelp
Horrible. Too angry about order to put in words. Service is horrible and overpriced for hardly any food. Rip off.!!! Never again

Yelp
If this rating is for the food is is 5-star as this place is famous for the Taiwanese pork chops. Even though is mainly ate with rice I love their pork chops with soup noodle. The reason for 4 star is that it seem like a mom and pop shop so don't expect friendly customer service as I went today by myself and they don't even give me one napkin but gave other table who has 3 people. Also, their appetizer includes pig ears which I like but tried to order last 2 times they don't have it maybe discontinued but still on the menu. It's a small restaurant so not a lot of seats. Definitely not the best place to go if u have a big group more than 4.

Yelp
1. The woman who cooks/takes payment doesn't speak English all that well. 2. She's rude. 3. The fried chicken is too salty. 4. They charge $1.25 for a cup of water (!) I'll never eat at this place again.

Yelp
Best pork chops ever...!! Love those pickled mustard greens. Yummmm this place is a true hidden gem!
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious. I'm not even the biggest pork chop fan and I absolutely love them here. The pickled mustard greens and noodle soup are equally mouthwatering. Prices are reasonable, and the owner is delightful. Very happy we found this place! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Pork chop rice is very traditional!!! Taste like what I ate in Taiwan. All my family love it
google avatar

Catherine W.

Yelp
I've always loved their pork chops, the flavors reminds me of Taiwan. The portion and price point is reasonable. The restaurant currently only does to-go and the food are well packaged.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Came to pick up a quick lunch the pork chop rice is very filling. Comes with veggies too! Ordered chicken wings too and high were delicious and crispy. Also ordered extra veggies boiled vegetables I was worried that since they are boiled they wouldn't have any flavor but it's pretty flavorful and put the minced pork on it too. I thought it there would be a few more wings but there were only 5 and they charged 8.50 but the menu said 7.95... but otherwise I'm happy with the rest of the food portions and everything was delicious tummy is full and happy food is packaged well so it stays warm and fresh my go to place for pork chop rice

Kherbeur K.

Yelp
Owner made a rude and inappropriate comment about how much I was eating like that's any of his business. Did I pay you for it or not? Worry about your bald ass head before you go making commentary about other people, thank you. I used to come here a lot when I was a kid with my mom but he doesn't want me spending my money here so I won't again.

Bill H.

Yelp
Today, We ordered two dishes , Pork chop rice, pork chop noodles soup. Pork chop is ok, but soup too oily, Food 豆腐 is cold not hot enough, and rice is cold, service so bad. Price not worth.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely some of the best pork chops that I have had! Decided to come here recently after getting recommended this place by a buddy of mine. I was glad that I came because this place makes some delicious pork chops! I ordered the Pork Chop Noodle Soup and was extremely impressed with the flavors. The pork chop itself was well seasoned and cooked nicely. The meat was also tender and juicy. The noodles that it came with were cooked to my liking and had a good QQ texture to them. The soup/broth that it came with was a bit on the saltier side, but had a nice flavor to it. The one downside that I haven currently about this place is that they only do to-go others currently. I wish they had a dine-in option since the freshness of the food would be even better. Other than that the place is great and I will definitely come back again in the future if I am craving some Taiwanese Pork Chops!

Mark L.

Yelp
Different owner now , the RH location is franchise one . Taste different compare to the original owner. Would not recommend this place unless the Irvine location , because Irvine location from original owner. The new stores owner's wife always has Unhappy face ,, Treat your customer better , Food is bad now Customer service from the owner's wife is Bad If continue like this , will be no more customer.

Yelp
This pork chop place started 1961 in Taipei, Taiwan. It is famous for its's pork chop with light breaded outer layer seasoned just right with little bite of paper kicks. It had first small store near Buena Park 20 some years ago and move to Rowland Heights share a space only open weekend in Diamond Plaza. If I miss this flavor of pork chop will always visit them. Their food quality is consistent you will never go so wrong with their food. When the store still allow to eat in door, they offers all you can drink ice Jasmine Sweet tea to all customers. both their pork chops rice and chicken leg rice are bothering signature of the restaurants. Owner is super friendly! They have been hit hard due to COVID. I have tried most of dishes and all tasted great with old Taiwanese flavors. Their pork chop flavor is one of my favor pork chop that I grew knowing.

Yelp
This is one of my best-unexpected delights in a long time. I would have never gone here had my friend not recommended it. It's a very simple and sparsely decorated place which only adds to its charm. The seats are metal. My friend had to sit on my coat because the metal made her cold. For me, the metal was just the right temperature!! (; We ordered the porch chop rice. $9.96. It's pictured at the very top of the menu so I'm guessing it's their marquee item...and for good reason, it's absolutely delicious. It comes with assorted veggies, rice, soup, and boneless pork chops. What deal! Service was fast and friendly. We had our delicious food just minutes after we ordered it. They also have free cold water, cold green tea, and hot green tea. Kingchops sure knows how to make people feel welcome! I don't hand out five stars very often, but Kingchops deserves all of them. I'll definitely be back to pay tribute to the king of chops!
google avatar

Clara C.

Yelp
Kingchops is located in the same parking lot as Pho Ha and Happy Lemon. It's next to Congee. I came here to try the pork chop rice (pai gu fan). They're really popular in Taiwan. I didn't like that they were cash price, but I liked their unlimited green tea. The tea and water are self serve at the front of the restaurant. It's a small place, so I would recommend coming here with smaller groups. The pork chop was good. I had the pork chop from Breadfish recently, and theirs was more fried / had more batter. The one here was less crispy but still good. The dish comes with a bowl of soup. I also had the beef stew. The flavor was there but it was so watery. I'm used to a thicker sauce so I could eat it over rice. Service was ok. They mostly speak Chinese.
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
Yum! This has become one of my favorite places in Rowland Heights. The pork chop is so delicious and so is their minced pork rice and the side dishes. I always come by everytime I'm in town to pick up a few of the pork chop rices to go. Try it if you haven't had it before - you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Yelp's overall 3.5 star rating for Kingchops is pretty spot on. I'm rounding up, because their pork chops are definitely delicious. My coworker had been here before and had rave reviews, so expectations were a little high before the meal. We all came together today for lunch, many for of us for the first time (myself included), and it did not disappoint. I ordered the #2 Pork Chop Noodle, priced at $9.05. Most of my coworkers went with the #1 Pork Chop Rice, but I was in the mood for noodle soup instead of rice. Both come with the same side of pork chops, so no need to worry. The food came out fairly quick, though my soup was definitely delayed. The pork chops were the highlight, by far, but the soup was A-OK, as well. I loved how juicy and tender the pork was. I would definitely come back and order it again. If you're considering trying this restaurant, I'd say it's definitely worth a shot. Do note that the restaurant is CASH ONLY, however. That is the reason why I likely won't ever be back, but it was good while it lasted. If you like pork chops, be sure to bookmark this restaurant. It is fairly small, and the ambiance is lackluster, but the food makes up for it. Go ahead and check it out for yourself.

Yelp
Visited during covid... take out only! Kings chops is a stable in Rowland heights. Gosh, I think it has been there since I was in high school? (which is a long time ago!) This is also another restaurant I always make time for when I visit home. Easy to order over the phone Got their pork chop which is as good as I remembered.. my sister did mention that they had a change in management a little back... I didn't notice any change tho Anyhow, will recommend it!
google avatar

Aaron H.

Yelp
A mixed feeling for me. CASH only. Parking: it's in a plaza so there should be cars leaving and coming on the frequent. However, it's also a pretty busy plaza to begin with, so sometimes ya gotta wait a few minutes. The overall atmosphere was alright. When we first entered at 6:30pm on a Friday night, there were no other customers. The only other people that were there were the employees children. We were allowed to sit anywhere and we were able to get service pretty fast. He explained that the green tea and water were self-served. Nothing hipster bout the place, just the typical Asian restaurant. The food was pretty good. The pork chop was $5.95 and pretty dang delicious. However, you could tell it was also extra tasty since oil was pouring out of the pork chop like there was no tomorrow. Wish they had let the pork chop rest a little between frying it and serving it, to let the oil drain out. The price was also a little priced too high. Would come back if I had nothing to eat in the area, or if I'm craving some good pork chop.

GG L.

Yelp
One of the Taiwanese pork chop places in the area! Side dishes can be improved thou. Simple family style restaurant.
google avatar

Joyce J.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant in a strip mall and totally enjoyed the Taiwanese style food. The menu has meat and rice/noodle selections that are super yummy, e.g. pork chop rice, curry chicken rice, chicken leg and noodle. Our rice dishes came with vegetable sides included. Average price is $13. A la carte items like dumplings, steamed vegetables, fried pork chop also available. Iced tea, iced water and hot tea are self-serve, free and refillable. The staff are super friendly too!
google avatar

Noodle S.

Yelp
Their signature dish is the pork chops. They really are amazing and very tasty. Check hours as they take break in middle of day.
google avatar

Yelp
Came in here today spontaneously, and I'm really glad I did! I got the pork chop rice, and my friend had the Pork hock noodles. The water and tea was so refreshing! I was definitely satisfied with our meals and the pricing. Service made it an even better experience. I do recommend this spot, and will be returning!

Yelp
Must get the pork chop over rice 排骨飯!! That's the specialty item and a lot of disappointment seems to come from ordering the wrong dishes or not being a fan of this traditional Taiwanese dish in general. My mom is from Taiwan and she absolutely loves this place. I think most taste the same really but what do I know. When I was younger I got so sick of eating pork chops and baos because we ate them way too often, but now as an adult it's nostalgic for me and I have to eat them every now and again. This is my go to place for that fix! Lots of places serve this but none seem to do it as well with the minced pork and all the side dishes. Always consistent with the food. Absolutely love the sour bamboo 酸筍. Banana boat had it prepared exactly like this but they closed down and class 302 took theirs off the menu :( this is the only place left that does this dish the right way! We always order to go just because the restaurant itself is cramped and not very clean. Service has always been great for me but we never sit in so there's that. The rest are just filler items on the menu in my opinion, but if you're hungry or you don't eat pork then yes there's options still.
google avatar

Lily L.

Yelp
Indoor dining is now OPEN!! For the past two years, they've only offered to-go orders. Unfortunately soup noodles doesn't taste good on take out orders. I'm so glad they are finally opened so I can enjoy a delicious bowl of pork chop noodles!
google avatar

ares m.

Yelp
First time trying this place, their pork chop rice looks the most appealing based on pictures. So I just ordered one pork chop rice to go. It taste really good! I like how the pork chop is not the super fried type, and I like how it has some side dishes and the egg taste really good too! Everything together makes it a very delicious pork chop bento! I would totally come back again!!
google avatar

Carina M.

Yelp
Best pork chops hands down! Food: 5/5 I love to get their pork chop soup noodle! Their noodles have a nice chewy texture and comes in a clear, refreshing broth that pairs nicely with the savory and peppery pork chop. The pork chops are the BEST. Packed with flavor and still very tender. I wish they gave more pork chop, but it's a good portion of food overall. Service: 3.5/5 Very typical for an Asian establishment. Nothing bad, but not special. Only interaction is taking your order, putting down your plate, and giving you the check. The drinks are self-serve near the front of the restaurant - either water or sweet green tea

Yelp
Introduction: I have had their pork chop rice bento on several occasions and today I finally decided to pay this place a visit during lunch and pig out. I got their pork chop rice, steamed bamboo shoots and Fuzhou fish ball soup. Food: The main reason I decide to come here is because I am hooked on their pork chop: the meat quality is really good, it's tender and the meat juice flows into the palate with each bite. It's the best pork chop I have eaten in the SGV area by far. At other "Taiwanese" establishments the pork chops tend to be either overcooked or too greasy/oily. As for the rice, the minced pork along with the sauce bears a homey flavor and taste to it that's rarely found at conventional restaurants. It's the kind of flavor only found in Taiwanese households where the matriarch cooks well. The steamed bamboo shoots are great: it's tender and sweet. Other restaurants' bamboo shoots are often either sour or at times slightly bitter. The steamed bamboo shoots go great with any of the other rice dishes on the menu. I recommend getting the Fuzhou fish ball soup because the broth's flavor is on point: it's lightly peppered, clean, light, balanced and smooth. There's no MSG in the soup whatsoever. The Fuzhou fish balls are delicious in the sense the fish balls' texture is bouncy and its interior filling is handmade. Ambiance: Casual, mom and pop shop Service: Adequate Price: Affordable Overall: It's hard to find a place that serves legitimate Taiwanese cuisine; there are many that claims to be Taiwanese restaurants but often the flavors of the dishes from such establishments are deficient, off or downright terrible. The main issue lies in the fact too many Taiwanese eateries do just enough to get by. At Kingchops they're unique in the sense their flavor(s) is authentic and they are good at what they do.

Yelp
I love this place! This is probably my new go-to pork chop rice spot. It used to be Taipei Golden Garden blah blah blah but now it's Kingchop. I used to love supreme dragon's pork chop rice but this one comes with so much more! My gf found this place and raved about it so we went here after getting our hair did and I always stop by when I'm in the area even just to get one to go. The place is pretty small and there's only two ppl serving and there can be a wait sometimes but it's worth it. I get the pork chop rice and it usually comes with a veggie side, sauteed bean curd, a soup and half a marinated egg. The sides are always good but the best part is the pork chop. It's not too fried or breaded and it's super juicy. I also get the boiled veggies (usually A-choy w/ meat sauce), marinated cucumbers and steamed bamboo just because I love vegetables and they're yummy. This place is always consistent and very budget-friendly. It amazes me how little they charge for all that goodness. It's definitely Taiwanese comfort food...I miss it already.

Yelp
Pretty good Tonys flavor pork chop price of a shop noodles and everything else. My kids love their food, we go there pretty frequently.

Yelp
A hidden-gem... the best pork chop EVER. I wouldn't come here if you're looking for great service, but the food is superb. Everything is super affordable too. They have an extensive menu ranging from authentic Taiwanese appetizers to noodles and rice dishes. We ordered the Boiled Veggies (22), Steamed Bamboo Shoots (23), and Tofu with Preserved Egg (24) - highly recommend all 3! We also shared 2 orders of the Pork Chop with Rice. The side dishes are mediocre, but the minced pork over rice is so flavorful and the pork chop is amazing! Comparable to its counterparts in Taiwan. Can't beat this place - a must try!

Yelp
got take out from here today and it's so good! the pork plate is pretty filling, packed into two boxes. the rice is a good amount and has some ground pork(?) bits and sauce in it. the veggies taste real fresh a little cold. the pork chops themselves weren't super crispy but that's to be expected. however they were super flavorful still and had a good texture! we also got the tofu and century egg and it was also very good if you like century egg! we placed our order at the store, but definitely recommend calling ahead. they took credit card as a form of payment, too!

Yelp
My college roommate took me to this place, recommending this fried pork rice dish (豬排飯). It was a cozy restaurant, simple enough, and the staff were incredibly homely. It was definitely a taste of childhood memories, well-made without too much fried dryness and balanced with a good amount of side dishes for me to choose from. Definitely recommend trying this classic dish. Secret gem: Their iced jasmine green tea is amazing! It's super similar to the one in Taiwan, light and refreshing. I definitely had a few cups myself while there.

Yelp
Been here since it first opened. Although the previous owners sold out their business, the new owner doing as superb job as the previous owners. The pandemic has affected business and staffing cut back caused slight efficiency issue, current owners doing what they need to do to stay in business. Dine in is allowed now. Quality of food remained excellent.
