Kingfisher Review - Golden Hill - San Diego - The Infatuation

"Kingfisher is one of the buzziest places in town, and you’ll definitely need a reservation to eat here. You’ll find beautifully-plated food incorporating flavors from all over Southeast Asia—go for the wild mushroom congee laced with crispy garlic, crunchy lettuce wraps, smoked dry-aged duck with rice noodles, and nuoc cham chimichurri. The dining room is anchored by an oval-shaped bar and a glowing, golden sculptural light fixture, as if your best design-savvy friend had a blank check to execute their “industrial-chic” Pinterest board. They also have a small, quieter outdoor patio that’s great for dates and dinners when you just want to gossip with your closest friends." - Ligaya Malones

Kingfisher Review - Prospect Lefferts Gardens - New York - The Infatuation

"Prospect Lefferts Gardens gets a new date spot with the arrival of Kingfisher, a restaurant from the owner of & Sons that deals in wine and small, elegant plates of seafood. With its white brick walls and unfinished wood, this place feels like an inviting kitchen that could be the backdrop of a Martha Stewart spread. The menu is short and sweet, with some surprising stuff like a refreshing mix of razor clams and apples, a mixed seafood plate guest starring spicy chorizo, and an heirloom egg with trout roe and hollandaise that goes especially well with a side order of the warm, dense tiger bread. If you live in PLG and don’t want to travel too far to get some crudo in your life, come here to drink good wine and unwind with something semi-fancy after a long day." - Neha Talreja
