Yelp
This has become one of my favorite spots for now. I've been about 5 times including both take out and eat in. Let's start with the food.. Seafood Potato greens- good, but not my favorite. Made with potatoe greens, plump shrimp, blue crab, a piece of salt smoke fish and accompanied by white rice. Regular potatoe greens-good, but again not my favorite. Made with some smoked meats I beleive and accompanied by white rice. Chuck rice and gravy-good, this is a reddish sauce of peppers ,tomatoes and meats accompanied by a green rice. Palm butter stew-good, it is a brown stew/sauce loaded with seafood (shrimps, crab, fish)and accompanied by white rice. Palava sauce-my favorite. It's made with some type of greens, meat, and palm oil accompanied by white rice. All of these are referred to as "soup", but they seem to contain lots of oil which is very different for me when I think of soup, but a good different. Fried Talipia- fried way too hard, I dont think I'll ever order that again. Fried snapper- soo good, fried to perfection and topped with onions and peppers. Grilled Snapper- very reminiscent of the fried snapper minus the peppers and onions. Country dry rice- soo good that everytime I think of ordering a different rice I can't bring myself to cheat. Aticheke and plantains- just ok, needs some sauce but not bad. And for dessert...Banana bread with pecan ice cream- soooooo good, the bread is not really sweet but it's just right for someone who doesnt really want anything too sweet.
Now let's get down to the service.. The place isn't big at all and when it gets busy the wait time its over an hour and a half. The waitresses are super nice, thoughtful, and very accommodating. It just takes a while for the food to be served to you but if you don't mind waiting for at least 30 minutes on a regular day then you should be good to go. Oh and don't forget to BYOB.
