"Heights German fusion restaurant and beer hall King’s Bierhaus and its sister restaurant Egghaus closed in September after seven years in service. Owners hinted in July at difficulties following weather disasters and power outages in the Houston area, noting that it was “making it impossible” for them to operate sustainably. After experiencing over a week without power, beerhouse owners said in a social media post that they had modified their restaurant to be more of a traditional beer house with counter service. Ultimately, King’s closed, as did its next-door restaurant, Egghaus, which served kolaches and egg sandwiches. A person who identified himself as one of the partners says the closures of the Heights establishments are permanent. However, he says the owners of King’s and Egghaus are working on an agreement with their landlord." - Brittany Britto Garley

We were supposed to go here about a month ago but switch plans last minute, we finally came back to check it out. First of all the German theme is really cool, takes you back to a different time. A bit cheesy sometimes but fun nonetheless. Beer selection was great, ordered me a flight so I could sample a few beers. Food was good, no complaints, wife said hers was ok, she got some sort of schnitzel sandwich. I got drunken chicken which was pretty good, chicken was very moist and that butter dip was really good. Overall a good experience, atmosphere was great. Waitstaff was on point and very friendly.

This place is an adventure! Good variety of sausages and yummy food! The atmosphere is so fun and staff is attentive and nice. The Beer Pretzel is my fave! The Gourmet Deviled Eggs are amazing and the Wild Boar Sausage is currently my favorite one they have. If you're looking for something hearty and adventurous, this is the place!

I'm going to start by saying it's been several years since I've gone to one of their restaurants. My first time at the Heights location. (Mind you, the original is where I started my King's journey years ago.) We went for Father's Day, and, no, it was not crowded, no wait at all. I was heartbroken. I feel they might have changed some of the recipes over the years. I'll start my food review by saying the exotic sausages were the one thing that was fire! Those were just as delicious as I remember. We ordered the pulled pork stuffed jalapeños and the mac and cheese balls. These items were new to us and they were great! Everyone in our party enjoyed them. We had sides of sauerkraut, Austrian potato salad, cucumber salad, and fries. Fries are fries. But we were all disappointed in the other sides. (Again, we don't know if the recipes have been changed but...) The flavors, the temperatures at which they were served. And then there's the music....I didn't come to listen to modern rock and Taylor Swift...I get that they are trying to make some modem fusion thing (because they're in the Heights?) But come on. And service... well that was lacking.. maybe a fluke but ugh... we had to ask multiple times for multiple things, he took quite a while on follow up, just poor service for what we've known at King's. At the end, they brought complimentary containers of whiskey for the dads in our group for father's day. We skipped dessert because... read above. I can only hope that the 646 location hasn't gone the way of the Heights location. This is one place I can say, I definitely won't be going back, and I can say I don't recommend this location.

The restaurant exceeded my expectations. The food is awesome and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is amazing for you to enjoy a great time with friends and family. They have an indoor and outdoor area for your dining experience, and the outdoor area is super nice. I really recommend this restaurant.

From the moment you step inside, Kings Bierhaus envelops you in a warm and inviting ambiance reminiscent of classic German beer halls. The rustic wooden decor, communal tables, and festive decorations create a lively environment perfect for both large gatherings and intimate meals. The outdoor biergarten is particularly charming, offering a great space to enjoy pleasant weather with friends and family. The menu at Kings Bierhaus is a delightful journey through German culinary classics. Start with the pretzel, which is served warm and perfectly salted, accompanied by a rich beer cheese dip. For the main course, the schnitzel is a must-try: crispy, golden-brown, and tender on the inside. The sausages are another highlight, with a variety of options such as bratwurst, currywurst, and knackwurst, each bursting with flavor.Don’t miss the jägerschnitzel, topped with a savory mushroom gravy, or the hearty Königsberger klopse, German meatballs in a creamy caper sauce. The sides are equally impressive, from the tangy sauerkraut to the creamy mashed potatoes and the vibrant red cabbage. True to its name, Kings Bierhaus boasts an extensive beer selection that caters to all tastes. Whether you prefer a light and refreshing pilsner or a robust and malty dunkel, there’s something for everyone. The knowledgeable staff are more than happy to recommend a beer that pairs perfectly with your meal. Additionally, the beer flights are a fantastic way to sample a variety of brews if you’re feeling adventurous.Service: The service at Kings Bierhaus is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and well-versed in the menu, always ready to offer recommendations, and ensure you have a memorable dining experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the service remains efficient and personable. Kings Bierhaus delivers an exceptional German dining experience that combines authentic flavors, a festive atmosphere, and excellent service. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast, a lover of German cuisine, or simply looking for a fun and lively dining spot, Kings Bierhaus is sure to impress. Prost!

Kings BierHaus was delightful but a tad bit expensive. Me and my party went to King's BierHaus on The Office trivia night. We arrived about 1 and a half hours before it started so that we could get a table in time. Needless to say, we definitely made it with some time to spare, but it did soon fill up, making early arrival a good idea. For the food and drinks, everything was good and I would always recommend any of their schnitzels (I had the Cajun one) and their pretzels are a must if you've never had one. All in all, my only complaints lie in the pricing. While it was definitely worth it to have snacks at the table throughout the trivia, trivia isn't always going on. King's BierHaus is a great restaurant with a great outdoor area, and great food. This wasn't my first time going here, and it most certainly won't be the last.

Came here with a group of friends. Really great food! Ordered a 2 sausage plate + Macaroni balls. The sausage is excellent! Included exotic meats like boar and elk if you are feeling adventurous. The portions are very generous with the sides! The Macaroni balls were warm and cheesy, even well into the meal. The scenery has a very relaxed and had a festive vibe. The servers are very attentive and food came out quickly. Great customer service! Come with a group of friends or family and share some food!

We were so excited to finally go to King's BierHaus. We were still excited as we walked in to the restaurant to see the spacious well lit indoor dining area and a lush green outdoor seating area. But I'm disappointed to say that that's about where our experience started to take a dive down. Most of the beer we wanted, they were out of it and it was the case for the food we ordered as well. And the waitress wasn't even apologetic about it. She didn't offer any alternatives either. I ordered some grilled cheese pretzels and the amount of pretzel that I got was laughable. The parmesan fires were good but any other place can do good fries! Their beers were good as well and only when we asked did the waitress mention that their beers come all the way from Germany and the shipments are delayed.

Yelp
I called their other location to clarify and despite what Google says, they are NOT PERMANENTLY CLOSED, it is temporary! Beryl has really taken a toll on them, and they need support after they reopen. I love this place, their fall/winter gluwein is the stuff of dreams, their food is great, and beer delicious.

Yelp
As a fan of German food and drinks, I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately my experience was not very good. Service - The customer service was slow. It took 5 minutes just to get a menu. The digital menus are apparently invalid. Our waiter was snarky and borderline rude with some of his responses. Food - We got a pretzel with cheese. The pretzel was good but the cheese tasted really weird. Definitely not worth the $12. We also got the wings and a beer, which were good. The reason this is 3 stars and not 2 stars is because of the wings and beer. Ambience - On Fridays they have music bingo which is a cool idea but the music was way too loud so I could barely hear/converse with my partner during our meal.

Yelp
After our dinner at King's last night, I checked Yelp to see the reviews. I was surprised that this restaurant does so well in the reviews. The whole place looks a little tired. The decor is German, but it hasn't been updated in years and the whole place looks like it could use a coat of paint and a deep clean. The restaurant is large with a beer hall style seating area, tables, and booths and an outdoor patio. Looked like there were three waiters covering the entire restaurant. Fortunately, there are only a handful of tables occupied. This didn't improve the service or the speed of the waitstaff. After being seated, we waited approximately 10 minutes before someone came by our table. Although the person was apparently not our waiter, he took care of us through the evening and did a good job. Came for some German food and beer, right? That's their thing. The first four beers we ordered, they were out of. Waiter made a decent recommendation for a German Pilsner, which we enjoyed. Ordered the sausage sampler. Three lukewarm sausages thrown on a plate with a tiny cup of mustard and two pieces of bread. Not an impressive presentation, but the sausages were tasty. The mustard had been sitting out a while as the top layer was a darker color than underneath. We got the chicken schnitzel and the pork schnitzel. Nothing exciting about these dishes. Served with one tiny slice of lemon-not a wedge. The accompanying sauerkraut was good. The German potato salad was served cold with lumps of potato just in a vinegar dressing. all in all, not a great experience and one that will not draw us back.

Lauren R.

Yelp
The service was lacking, no menus for a while and the QR code on the table is apparently all outdated, so not sure why they leave those on the tables? The food was pretty expensive for the quantity and the quality. Just all right. Liked the tvs for watching the baseball game, but it was bingo night so the music was so loud I had to put in earplugs. Restrooms clean. Plenty of parking. Probably won't come back however.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of being here over the years when I'm in the mood for different beers or German cuisine with southern twists. Located off TC Jester in the Heights, it's not far from where I live where I can pop in for a pint or a meal. All the food items I've had are quite awesome; you can't go wrong with the beer pretzel to start with the beer cheese and spicy mustard; dip simultaneously to supercraze your taste buds. There's also plenty of beer options here, that's to be expected of a German spot. The Weinstephaner Vitus beer is a favorite and one of mine as well, a German beer with a punch to it. The sausages here are tasty, go for the exotic ones to expand your taste buds. If you don't know what to order, go all out with the Taste of Germany platter which can feed 3-4 people or yourself if you've got the appetite of Erik the Electric. And save room for dessert for either the Apple Strudel or Bread Pudding, savory and sweetness to the max. They also serve brunch here which are underrated due to the Deviled Eggs, a must order. Service here is hit or miss. I've had some servers who are on top of their game and some who are never to be found. I noticed when it's busy, they'll be more attentive. Although good luck finding a seat when that's the case unless you're prepared to wait. Whenever I'm in the mood for a big beer or german eats, this spot is on target for the most part. Gut gemacht!

Yelp
Ambiance: German inspired restaurant & beer garden with tons of fun decor and a large indoor dining and expansive patio area. The perfect spot for Oktoberfest, birthdays, hanging out on the weekend, or enjoying German cuisine. Dog friendly & awesome patio area. Onsite parking. TONS of German beer options as well as wine & cocktails. They also have scotch, whiskey, and tequila flights. There is a bar area to sit at inside as well. Minutes from other shops/bars/restaurants in The Heights. Fairly reasonable prices. This is a favorite spot for my friend group & we highly recommend!

Yelp
Stoped by for their SpongeBob trivia night. RSVP'd because for the Pokémon one they had so many people show up they started not letting people in and it was CROWDED. Turns out to not be necessary since there were maybe 30 people that showed up. It was fun and themed food was good. The potato skins were a bit cold but the rest was delicious. Wanted to head out for a while and our server stopped checking on us so had to go the front and ask them to bring the check since he seemed to be avoiding us for whatever reason. It was all good until the very end

Yelp
Love this place always great food and a great time. I wanted to drink called a snake bite. They were very accommodating and created something for me out of cider. Food was amazing while we were there. They had a beer holding contest that was lots of fun to watch.

Cynthia V.

Yelp
One of my favorite things about King's is how expansive of a space it is, both indoor and outdoor options. Plenty of communal and private table seating for a real community (and German) vibe. Lots of TVs around playing whatever sport/event is popular at the moment. Huge menu of German-influenced offerings and, of course, lots of drinks to go with. We came for lunch on a beautiful Friday and enjoyed the experience. I ordered the Schnitzel Sandwich with chicken (probably would go pork next time for something more special), and it had a really nice mustard on it to kick it up a notch and add that Germanic flair.

Kayla N.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by on a Friday evening during their happy hour to grab a beer and a couple of appetizers. The ambiance was fun and I loved that their outdoor patio is dog friendly. The staff was also very friendly and happy to answer questions we had. I will note service is a bit slow when sitting outside as most people sit inside and they seem to forget about some of the outdoor customers. We each ordered a beer and then decided to share the Bavarian Fried Pickles and the Sausage Sampler. Unfortunately, neither of the items we ordered were worth ordering again unfortunately. The fried pickles were primarily breading with very little pickle ... definitely a miss. The sausage was also just OK and wasn't even worth finishing. Sadly, the best thing on the platter was the mustard. Overall, I'd come back for some beer with friends but wouldn't order the food again.

Yelp
Real German Beer shipped in kegs across the ocean from Europe to Texas. Exceptional service and Tasty Food. The ambiance of Munich right here in Texas. I highly recommend this place for all Beer Lovers. Ask for the Buffalo Chicken Deviled Eggs with Blue Cheese - Addictive !

Yelp
Still a great place to hang out with great drinks and great food! Stopped by last week and got my usual liter weistephaner vitus and the meatloaf and the amazing bread pudding. Left happy and full. Service always friendly Must try the vitus beer Liter Meatloaf And the croissant bread pudding

Yelp
Used to love this place. Have been coming here for almost five years on a regular basis, but don't think we will be coming back again. Apparently they "changed their concept," and have severely limited their food and drink menu, drastically increased the prices, cut back on hours, service, and quality in every dimension. As an example of King's priority, look at their "new and improved" reward program. What used to be free and provide free apps every visit now costs up to $30 a month for "6 coins." There are hardly any food options and they have drastically reduced in quality. The sausages are half the size, cold, and stale and the fried pickles are stale and hard as a rock. The wings barely have any meat on them and are overcooked, with other random fried foods tossed in the basket. The drink menu is limited and expensive. $30 for a liter of beer, and good luck getting a beer you want when most of the beers are "out." Apparently their new "concept" is to be a traditional bierhaus, but they have hardly any beer, it's overpriced, comes half-filled, and their hours are now limited (closing at 10 on weekends!) The place used to be full and energetic, but it was totally empty and for good reason. It feels King's has betrayed its loyal customers that have come to every Oktoberfest, bierfest, and enjoyed this place over the last few years. We can only hope that King's turns things around and starts doing things right again, because it doesn't seem like they will be around much longer otherwise. Sad what's happened.

Yelp
Beers are plentiful in options, and the schnitzel ws great and crispy. Didn't care much for the potato salad. Moose Out

Yelp
I haven't been back to Houston in quite some time and was super excited to round up my fam for a fun and memorable dinner experience on our last night in town. Unfortunately I picked the wrong night :( The main dining room is really cool with great beer garden atmosphere... a large dining hall with long wooden tables, high ceilings, just the vibe that really adds to the experience. However at least two separate large private parties had been booked from some sales meeting or conference or something, and all of the people belonging to those groups all stood around and took up the main dining room and the immediate back patio areas making it impossible to get seating in the dining room where I had hoped and it would have been horribly loud even if we could. We were ushered out to the VERY back open "backyard" area with no a/c. We arrived just before dusk, and as the sun went down there were no lights on where we were seated and it got very dark. It wasn't until I fought back through the crowd of people inside to get to a staff member to ask for lights to be turned on so we could see to read our menus without having to use our phone flashlights. While still in the dark, our waiter served me the wrong beer because he couldn't see in the dark either. Determined to not ruin the mood, we continued on with our family time together. Everyone enjoyed the dishes that were ordered, I eventually did get the correct beer (and waiter was kind enough to take off the wrong one without having to ask him to), and I was glad to have been able to at least check the place out. The next time we go, if I can convince my hubs to go back, I will definitely make a point to call ahead to make sure we go on a normal night to hopefully be able to enjoy the experience in the dining hall rather than the outer back corner of the yard that was no different than any other outdoor seating area of any other place we could go. Food: my SiL ordered the cheese spread board and a schnitzel plate. BiL got the Reuben sandwich. We all split some Octoberfest fries. Niece and her hubs ordered several things to share and my hubs and I shared the taste of Germany platter. All of the food was delish, the schnitzels could really do with a sauce but is still very tasty. We did have a good time all-in-all, and the food was but I was bummed that the overall dining experience wasn't what I was really looking forward to.

Yelp
Brought my family and our German foreign exchange student. We were sat outside under the fans. Outside was nice, the fans made it colder since the outside was cooler. We waited a long time to get helped. We asked to move to another area because it was cold under fans. We moved. It took a while for the waitress to come around to us to get refills or get anything ordered. Service was very poor. Our exchange student was excited to see food he's familiar with here in the US. When our food was brought out, our German exchange student just asked the waiter if anyone spoke German here. The waiter responded very rudely saying "nah only English or Spanish, you're in America, we only speak American". Food wasn't all that great. German student said it was somewhat authentic but also not. Atmosphere 8/10 Service 2/10 Food 6/10 Won't return just due to the service being so poor and rude.

Maria N.

Yelp
my first time coming here. I love how spacious it is. has outside patio and very dog friendly. i've heard good things about the crawfish so why not do happy hour PLUS crawfish! service was great and food was good! definitely will come back soon. prob some of the best flavored crawfish I've had a bar/bierhouse. the pretzel was soft the mac and cheese balls were fried to perfection but it was still missing that crunch crawfish was bomb! $7.99/lb some friends had some of their dogs and they said it was delicious can't believe we haven't tried this place before. glad we did!

Zach H.

Yelp
Went for lunch on a random Friday with a buddy to celebrate Fantasy Football wins (lol). The place was actually decently busy, with most people sitting right at the bar. The beer was solid -- and we shared the Taste of Germany which was a ton of food... doable for two people if you are hungry but maybe even better for three people. Finished with the Apple strudel which was tasty!

Scott H.

Yelp
Let me open with I fully understand the impact of COVID on the hospitality industry and the current struggles with both product costs and employee availability. However, when the sign on the door states the operating hours and you are at the front door - ready to spend $$ and partake of a specialized cuisine - within the stated operating hours and the facility is dark, locked, and shows no signs of life; it is exceptionally disappointing. This particular facility gives the vibe of being DOA with no chance of revival. This is unfortunate because there are not enough establishments with a German menu and theme around anywhere any more. FYI - tried to have dinner at 6p on Tuesday, July 23. Ended up at a sports bar around the corner with a good cheeseburger and killer dive bar atmosphere...but, not the schnitzel and sausages I was seeking.

Bianca H.

Yelp
Food and service was great! The drunken chicken was the best. Food came out fast. Deviled eggs are a must have!

Jacqueline L.

Yelp
I have been a frequent visitor to King's over the past few years and it has definitely turned into one of our favorite establishments to visit! The food has always been fantastic, everything from the deviled eggs, pretzel grilled cheese, the hot dogs, the pizza, the soups and stews, I feel like we've tried it all and have never been disappointed. Not to mention the croissant bread pudding! This is something worth visiting alone. It's definitely out of this world! The restaurant provides a lot of space, both indoors and outdoors. The space inside is always nice and has great decorations. If the weather is nice, I choose to sit outside, which as an absolutely lovely space! They have a small waterfall and sunflowers painted on the back wall. Occasionally they'll have bands come out to play music. Ooo, and the beer. If you like some good beer, this is the place. They serve the best German beer. They have every extent of beer. Everything from a light beer to a very extensive beer that was brewed by Monks (super rich, but super tasty). Kings Bierhaus has a lot to offer. Definitely check it out!

Skye R.

Yelp
I came here with my brother and family a few weeks ago. 1. Atmosphere was 100% 2. Everything I tried was fresh and tasted amazing. (Will update when I remember what I got because I tried basically everything lol) 3. Their house made whiskey is great! 4. I will be back soon.

Jonathan A.

Yelp
Service was not the greatest, first time visiting here and they had only 3 servers for the whole restaurant. They never checked back in on us or offered additional drinks. The ambiance is cool, the decor is fun! Food wasn't that great, some items were cold and the pretzel grilled cheese was a fail! It's literally a pretzel with cheese, eggs, and bacon bits.

Jay T.

Yelp
I have been to King's Bierhaus on three occasions. Each time, the food was fresh and tasty. If you haven't experienced the food during Oktoberfest, you need to take advantage of it next October. As good as the food is, the service is just as good. If you are a fan of German food, give them a try.

Deborah M.

Yelp
Do you like schnitzel??? This place has beer and schnitzel and pretzels and good everything. Large outdoor and inside seating and plenty of room for the children to play outside. We visiting during the daylight hours, but I bet this place is popping in the evening. We also had the Apple strudel and yummy good. Bathrooms clean and smell great. Wait staff and front end ladies have great attitudes. Don't think twice about coming here. We sat outside at the picnic tables. Super clean and very little bugs to bug you.

Melissa L.

Yelp
I've been going to King's for years and will continue going for a long time. Authentic German restaurant and bar with great waitstaff, always delicious food, and relaxed vibes; I feel comfortable staying here for hours and never feel rushed. Love their themes parties too; recently went to Star Wars night and the Summer Rose party. Solid 4 stars.

Walter M.

Yelp
For a touch of Germany, try the sausages and bier here. Good atmosphere and service.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
What a fun place! Biergarten, German restaurant, and special "Rose all day" event. We tried several things on the special menu. The deviled eggs were very good, Jaeger Schnitzel very good as well as the strawberries. Unfortunately the Rose not so much... Definitely will be back though.

Angelica L.

Yelp
DO NOT GO FOR "OKTOBERFEST". $25 entrance for such a miserable experience. Their beer selection was unimpressive and barely cold. The line for mediocre food was long. Technical difficulties across the board. Their schedule had events starting at 6pm; we left at 8:30 and saw nothing. There wasn't even music! Avoid an evening in a parking lot filled with people trying to sell you things.

Ken M.

Yelp
sat at a table INSIDE. Rain dripped on me, so I moved to another table. They got upset and told me to move back. I pointed out the dripping and they didn't care. Bye!!

Brenda T.

Yelp
Limited menu due to Beryl. This restaurant is doing the best they can with what they have been handed them. The service was friendly, helpful and prompt. The food was yummy and the beer was cold.

Fay S.

Yelp
WTH - I literally ran across what MUST be one of Houston's hidden gems . Driving by ; I came across this restaurant and decided to stop by for lunch . It has incredible German food and the portions are ginormous . Better yet is the hostess- her name is Shelby and I want every single person going in as a result if this review to ask for her. Tell her you saw her on Yelp . This person takes high quality service to a whole different level . She knows the menu - the beer and is incredibly helpful; knowledgeable and just freaking amazing . Dunno which is better - the food or the service . Let's say both . Check them out and bombard them with support . These places need to thrive

Cielo M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots for trivia night (post covid)! My friends and I recently visited and they've definitely expanded since 2019. I had the lavender drink and it was DELICIOUS (and strong!). The service was fast and our server was very informative. This is a go to chill spot for friends. Its clean and the German theme is very cute. They also have a lot of drink specials that is good for groups.

Media M.

Yelp
I will definitely be back. The Summer chalice was good and not too sweet. I had the wild boar sausage and the pork Cajun schnitzel. When I say that was the best schnitzel I have had so far. There was crawfish in every bite and the etouffe was amazing. Devin our waiter was super attentive and his recommendations were great. The Sausage was amazing and has a slight sweetness to it.

William B.

Yelp
While in Houston doing some museum visits, etc., I really wanted to try this place. It was at the end of their "sausage a.y.c.e. sept deal" which was new to me. And we went on a week day right close to when they opened. There were two people sitting at the bar and one sizable group in the dinning area, and one couple in a booth, so basically empty. We sat for over 35 minutes and no a soul approached us. Typically I would get up and leave, but dang-it, I was thirsty for some German beer and German food, so we approached the nearly empty bar and asked if we may sit & eat at the bar and perhaps even order a beer? Well needless to say the lovely waitress/bartender caught on to my tactful manner in begging for service in an empty restaurant. We did eat and we did drink and did receive excellent service from the bartender. I couldn't imagine what that place was like with customers in it wanting service? The manager was on duty because she came out and did two separate interviews for new hires. And the kitchen staff seemed adequate, we saw many of them come and go through out our stay. But the entire place was basically being serviced by two ladies, one on the floor and one behind the bar. Maybe more staff is the answer, hence the interviews? If you want German food and lots of good beers on tap, and you don't give a turkey about any service, then this is the spot. Otherwise, sit at the bar. btw, the food was very good, they try so hard to mix "modern" stuff into their menu, but they do serve the basic German stuff.

Domingo V.

Yelp
Good beer selection and always cold and good quality! Food is ok. Seating is uncomfortable. Good service.

I don't think I've ever encountered bad service here. The food is always on point! Not to mention the fact that they have an adorable patio outside, perfect for the kids to run around.

Yelp
I thought I had been here before but apparently I had mistaken it with another bar so it was actually a pleasant surprise because it has a really nice atmosphere that's both family friendly with all the German type foods and they apparently serve beer by the liter (that's like1.06 Freedom Eagles for those not familiar with the metric system) so they do beer right apparently. I wasn't there that long but our server was very pleasant and helpful and because it was my first time here, we got a free shot of their signature whiskey too which was good.

Yelp
I always love coming to King's Bierhaus! I also always end up accidentally ordering more rounds of food/drinks every time I come because it is that good haha. They have such a cute outdoor area that is perfect for summer. I've been lucky to catch live music a few nights. ALSO, one of my favorite cocktails in Houston - The Lavenderita - which is only $5 during happy hour!! Any type of lemon/lavender cocktail is my go-to and this has been the best find yet. Big fan of ordering the Jaeger Schnitzel or Drunken Chicken. Their Gourmet Hot Dogs have been great in the past. I did try their fried pickles once and it wasn't my favorite find on the menu. And of course, great selection of beers on tap.

Yelp
We have frequented King's Bierhaus for years and it's a favorite of ours. For as many times as we've been, I never realized I hadn't written a review until now! For us favorites include the bratwurst, pork schnitzel, the beer pretzel (gotta get the cheese sauce), and the 2.5 lb pork shank. For dessert, the apple strudel is the best!! They have an amazing VIP rewards club where they give away lots of good freebies. Also remember though, that this is a local establishment. Please don't take advantage of their free rewards. They recently said people have abused it so much that they now limit it to 2 coupons per day which Is fair. They obviously have a great beer selection so grab a group and head over to the bierhaus!

Yelp
Really great! That's all I can say. We were a little bummed that they were out of the Pork Shank right after we got seated but my dad, whose birthday were celebrating, decided The Taste of Germany as his backup choice. And we weren't disappointed. Everything you see in the photo was good. I think the potatoes were the only meh thing but that didn't take away from the rest of the wonderful food. The sides, cucumber salad, sauerkraut, and cold potato salad were very good. The mains, schnitzel, chicken, and sausages were also really good. Our server was a wonderful person too. Shoutout to Lindsay!

Yelp
Truly disappointed in this place tonight! They advertise a closing time of 12 midnight but when we arrived at 10:10p they said the kitchen was closed and they were closing early at 10:45p. When asked why, they said "Because there's no business." Upon looking around, there were multiple tables full and more people walking in expecting this place to actually follow their advertised hours. The hostess and bartender both seemed to have already "checked out" of their shift and showed little to no concern for the service provided. Closing early on a Saturday night makes absolutely no sense other than this business is failing and won't be around much longer. With service and business practices like this, it wouldn't surprise me.

Yelp
Came here for to-go orders twice during the pandemic lockdown. The staff was polite. The inside is dark wood like an old bar feel. Food: Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich it was prepared properly, nice and crispy and thin, not a lot of seasoning. The bread was soft. I ordered the same thing both times, so this is all I can review right now. Will update upon my return.

Yelp
The right place for Herman Beers, sausages and schnitzels. Cordial service and cool atmosphere will guarantee you having a great friendly time!

Yelp
Again with the hit or miss with this place. Came Tuesday at 5pm and the waitress meets us at the table. She gets my drink order size wrong. We try to order some food and she's a bit spacey and says ok but then goes back and says we can't order from the meal menu but can order from starters. We are allowed to order from kids menu so I ordered mac and cheese and it's Kraft Mac from the box with grapes for $7. We ordered a few more starters and left. It was just an off night I think. Maybe during shift change but it didn't have a great vibe at this hour on a weekday.

Yelp
I have wanted to eat here for years and finally had the chance on Thursday 12/21 for lunch. The host was friendly and seated us right away. Our server was prompt, attentive and friendly. The food was very good. The problem came at the end of the meal when I exited the booth we were sitting in. As I slid out of the booth, there was an unseen nail sticking up from the frame at the edge of the seat. The nail tore a hole in the back leg of my jeans and broke into the skin on the back of my thigh. I informed another server who was standing nearby, and he went to get the manager, who looked at the booth and told me that the nail was sticking out because the seat was not flush with the end. He lifted up the seat, attempted to fix it and made a comment about how dirty the underside was, which prompted me to look as well. It was filthy! Who knows how long it had been since it was cleaned. The manager attempted to put the seat back on the frame, told me the nail would be fixed, said he hoped my leg didn't hurt too much and walked away. There were a few people finishing their lunch nearby, so I didn't ask for the manager again, but I left the restaurant bleeding and wearing pair of jeans with a rip just below the back pocket. The offer of at least a Band-Aid would have been nice.

Yelp
When I got the gourmet deviled eggs during lunch a few months ago, I thought it was so good. The chicken schnitzel on top was hot and crispy. When I got it for dinner recently, the schnitzel was kind of bland. The batter is also the same for the fried mac and cheese. I found it to be flavorless. Even eating the mac and cheese without the batter, it didn't taste very cheesy to me. The apple strudel was okay. I didn't think the whipped cream was anything special this time around or they forgot the cinnamon in this batch. The beer pretzel is probably the only item on the menu that I really like. The pretzel bites are coated with too many flavors, so I can't enjoy the pretzel flavor I'm looking for. The sausages are pretty good here. I haven't found a favorite, but they've all been flavorful.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place when some other plans fell through in the area. Really enjoyed the food, beer selection and service here. We got the American Sampler and Jager Schnitzel which were both excellent. Serving size were very generous. Probably could have split the schnitzel instead of getting 2 of them. Great Germany beer selection here as well. Everything was reasonably priced. Will be back

Yelp
Literally EVERYTHING was good! I had an exotic hot dog with elk venison (I'd prefer it without the bbq sauce next time), my husband got the Tex mex schnitzel and it was AH MAZ ING! The rabbit and rattlesnake sausage was really good, didn't like the boar sausage too much though. The pizza was sooo cheesy and good! The burgers were good. The drinks were good. I will be there again!
