We went to this seafood restaurant on New Year's Eve at 8 pm and were excited to try it out. Despite having reservations, we were seated outside in a chilly little back porch area. They had heat lamps on, so our faces were warm, but everything else was chilly. The area was next to a loud, drunk party of four in their 60s. This wasn't the restaurant's fault but added to the not-so-great ambiance.
Our waiter was great and tried his best to deal with the crowds while being attentive to our needs.
I ordered the parmesan sole with caper butter sauce. However, the presentation could have been better, it looked like it was rushed out of the kitchen (see photo), and the fish was swimming in too much butter, which overpowered the dish's other flavors.
We also ordered oysters, but they were all sold out except for one kind, which was good, but the shells' backs were covered in dirt, so our fingers got dirty.
The side dishes were cauliflower with tahini sauce, but the cauliflower was slightly brown, and the small dollop of tahini was hidden under parsley, making it hard to find. I also ordered the mashed potatoes, which were nothing too special.
The meal cost us well over $100, (including my partner's meal, 20% for the waiter, and two beers). Despite being a super busy night, we expected better food quality and presentation for the price.
