Kingston Jerk

Great local place to get authentic local cuisine and very nice vibes in their patio setting. I visited 2 times during my stay in Kingston and have very good and large variety of food and service. Jerk chicken and pork was delicious. It's nearby office areas, you will see a lot people coming on work breaks here as well as after office hours. Very enjoyable to have conversations, watch games.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I was hoping to order and dine in but the service was trash! The attitude of the cashier was disgusting! The food was definitely hot and fresh but tasteless and bland !!!! I had goat soup and not one piece of meat was in either of my cups .. then chicken wings.. it was so bad and flavorless .. it needed some type of dip of which they only had ketchup and pepper. We sat at the bar hoping to eat and get BAR service and drinks.. not one person asked if we needed anything and even worse, you have to walk yourself all the way to the other end of the restaurant to get your own food and 10 people at the cashier and none of them make one! Terrible experience! I definitely don’t recommend nor will I go back! 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I've been coming here for years! I dined at the bar on 11/26/24; I ordered 1/2lb pork, 1/2lb chicken; festival, bammy, corn, and pressed green plantain. The bartender (nice dude) came back and said they ran out of chicken, so they gave me two orders of 1/2 pork instead of my original order. A few minutes after enjoying the pork order, the bartender/sever came back and stated that he actually had quarter jerk chicken left( leg and thigh). I was delighted as I've always enjoyed the jerk chicken from here. To my dismay, the chicken served was rotten--a pungent odor coming from the chicken with a rotten flesh taste. I immediately brought it to the servers attention, and he took it away. Sometime later, a female server mentioned that she told the male server not to send that out as it "wasn't good." I paid my bill and left. However, I am with the worst belly pain and diarrhea I have ever experienced. You are serving food for consumption. It is criminal to do this to people! I won't be coming back, and I caution you as well eating here.

Nice place to eat jerk. Be careful with the tips as in my case they charge extra when I allow only 10%, they charge almost 20%. Food was great and the service was very fast.

I stopped by here twice during my trip to Jamaica and I loved both my visits to the Kingston location. We went on Tuesday night the first time and the vibes were so good. Good music, good waitress, and amazing food! I recommend having of course the jerk chicken, but also the jerk pork and I love the festival!

The portions are meagre even though it’s weighed and the jerk pork tastes like nothing. The pepper sauce didn’t help either. Had 1/4 jerk pork w/ festival and a burger with fries and festival. The staff were really friendly and the girl helped us navigate as it was our first time. The vibe is nice though and there’s lots of parking.

Early December 2024: Do not recommend... Food was not good, except for the festival. Soup was flavored water with no taste, (an insult to Jamaican cuisine) & jerk chicken no good. We ended up throwing away most of the food. Atmosphere is nice, but that doesn't satisfy tastebuds & belly. Food was better with previous owners when it was Scotchie's.

I bought a 1/4 lb jerk chicken, a chicken quesadilla and two festivals. The chicken tasted spoilt and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, I'm not even exaggerating, I gagged when I took a bite. I'm not a picky eater, so even if the food isn't a 100% tasty, I'll still eat it (with no complaints too, if I'm hungry). But this wasn't a matter of whether it was delicious or not. It was a matter of whether I would get food poisoning or not if I continued eating. With that said, it didn't help that the chicken tasted like there was little to no seasoning on it. The food was quite pricey too, so you could imagine my disappointment when the chicken ended up tasting the way it did. The quesadilla was slightly more tolerable than the chicken but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish I could get a refund. The only thing I actually enjoyed, was the festival, the ocean spray cran berry juice I bought with the meal and the really nice security guard who greeted me when I entered.
