We ordered baked oysters with cheese and mushrooms and they were excellent! The salmon was also excellent! Ordered the veggie egg rolls and Rangoon and these were also a hit!! Japanese plum wine was sweet and refreshing. Definitely will be going back soon!

Google
Truly impressed after dining here. Just looking at the menu beforehand, it sounded good but seemed maybe a little pricey. Ended up being worth every penny. The signature cocktail was one of the best I’ve had. And then the food was perfect. Definitely recommend the burger and butter chicken entrees.

Went to the Black Cat speakeasy at Kinjo! I would suggest making a reservation for the Black Cat. Thankful they had room for me, but you want to guarantee yourself a spot. Bartender and owner were very nice, visiting from out of town so talked with them for awhile. One of the top espresso martinis I have had!

Lisa Williams

Google
My daughter and I had the best, fresh, home made from scratch entrees! I also had a cocktail that was infused with a hint of spice called a spicy strawberry margarita on ice. It was even alcohol free, which I did not miss. I can't wait to bring my husband back with me. Oh, and the service was wonderful. Everyone was kind and friendly. We had a wonderful experience.

Kinjo's is most definitely a nice, upscale restaurant with reasonable prices. The food is absolutely amazing here and well worth the price/wait. I would say the best way to dine at Kinjo's is either on a date, or even better, with friends. A group of 4 would be ideal as they have plenty of tables that seat 4, in addition to booths that accommodate for larger parties. Dishes my partner and friends tried: Small Plates/Appetizers and Drinks: -Special Rangoon: I couldn't remember what the ingredients were in this one, but eating it warm/hot just allowed the fried wrapping to melt in your mouth, as well as the creamy filling. Very well made! -Korean Fried Chicken: You absolutely cannot go wrong with this small plate. I think it's their best appetizer. The wings are just the right amount of sweetness that the sauce they use on them just makes you devour each wing quickly. They also have a nice crisp where the fried chicken isn't too hard or too soft, just right. -Bao: So this was their pork belly dumpling. Very sweet and savory, the bun was also well made, very soft. -Miso Corn and Bacon Fritters: This definitely had that Southern influence. There were pretty much hush puppies, also had the consistency of a corn dog. Combine both, and this was way better, the filling really did the job, tasted great. -Sake Flight: This was a great drink for people like myself who are light drinkers and like to savor drinks. From back to front: Living Jewel, Junmai Well of Wisdom, and Ginjo Snow Maiden. My favorite was the Well of Wisdom because of how fruity the sake tasted, it stood out to me the most. Entree (Curry Chicken Ramen): -The flavor of the Curry for this Ramen was just perfect. It was so savory. The egg in my Ramen was cooked just right, with the yolk being jellied and soft enough to swallow/pick up with chopsticks. I wanted to drink the broth, but it was definitely too rich. I also liked how the noodles weren't too soft that they were easy to pick up in clumps. Dessert (Sesame Butterscotch Blondie): -This was a wonderful way to end our dinner. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the chef and the servers to let the Blondie/brownie cool down a bit so that when they top it off with ice cream, it won't melt so fast. Eating it with the ice cream and the caramel drizzle tasted amazing. Service: -I thought the food was delivered fast enough. We definitely weren't kept waiting too long. If you order a bit of each type of dish on the menu, it keeps a constant flow of food that you'll never be starving. Our servers were Ashlyn and her trainee Maria. Both of these ladies were excellent! Very polite. Ashlyn wowed me with her 110% upbeat attitude, attention to detail, and her professionalism. When I made my reservation on Resy, she asked immeadiately about my partner's onion allergy (which was actually more of an intolerance, his throat just gets really itchy when he eats foods with onions or onion powder in them). She took it so seriously that I was very impressed by Ashlyn's concern and hospitality to make sure that my partner would be able to enjoy the food. We also appreciated that she noticed my partner and I's Straw Hat pirate shirts from One Piece. She has such a wonderful personality and really knows how to engage guests. A wonderful hostess! This was my 2nd time eating at Kinjo's. The first time, I had only ordered food for delivery. Dining in is definitely the way to go, it's the best way to enjoy all the food fresh! Looking forward to my next visit, definitely one of my favorite dining locations in Macon now!

Google
Been meaning to check this place out for a while and I’m so glad I did. Saying the food was delicious just doesn’t do it justice, everything I had was amazing! When you come in, ask for Savannah, she’ll take great care of you.

Google
I love this place, it reminds me of Jinya in Atlanta. It’s a unique Asian/American inspired place that I love! Julius makes the most amazing drinks and his customer service is amazing! My favorite thing to order is the Chicken Curry Ramen and the potstickers. If you are ever in downtown Macon it’s definitely a go to spot’!

Google
Great experience here with excellent service. Food creativity was on point and the appetizers were good. The ramen was excellent…initially. As it cooled so did the appeal so eat quickly. Since I was on a date I was eating slowly so I didn’t finish. The soaked deviled eggs are fantastic. The desserts were also very memorable. Get one. So it’s great for dates and good food and right in the heart of downtown.

Yelp
We're regulars here and always enjoy the rotating menu as every dish never lacks in flavor and quality. The service is always great and we love rotating between sitting at the bar and eating in the dining room area. Best drink that's not on the menu is the "Assembly Required." NEVER disappoints.

Yelp
I had booked a private wine and canapé pairing here and it was very nice. Will most definitely do again.

Yelp
Beware. $10.00 ramen is NOT $10.00 ramen. My friend and I went here for the ramen special. I got tonkotsu ramen and she got the veggie ramen with pork. Literally the difference is that the broth is different on the veggie but the composition of the bowls is the same. Especially since I added corn, which the veggie bowl has. We eat and are surprised when then checks are $15.00 for her ramen (which again was the literal same bowl as my $10.00 ramen but with a different broth). We bring this to the attention of the server. There is no accountability for the lack of disclosure on the "upcharge". She consults with her manager who tells us that the broth is the upcharge. But I ask: if your ramen special is the special, and that bowl is part of the special, why is it a $5.00 upcharge when the bowls are identical with regard to the items in the bowl? It's irrelevant because the bowls were literally fine. Not all that hot when they hit the table and can't truly hold a candle to ramen that you'd find in a Japanese ramen house. I do think it's bad practice to not disclose the "upcharge" and then to actually upcharge when there wasn't any extra in the actual dish. Oh well. We won't be back. Shoutout to the incredible friendly gentleman who dropped the food to us. He was funny and kind. Probably the only friendly person there since the hostess was basically brusquely barking at people when she sat us.

Yelp
I enjoyed chilling at the bar and chatting up the bartender about the local area. Customer service here was excellent, prompt, and fun. Seating ranges from tables to bar seats. So you can bring a larger group or just be a party of one...like me. The menu was lovely, and for me I was craving the ahi tuna, and a bowl of ramen. As luck would have it, both were on the menu. The tuna was cooked beautifully with a perfect sear and a lovely black and white sesame crust. Plating was beautiful, and fun. And the flavor profile was amazing. Highly recommend this place if you're in Macon.

Yelp
Ehhhhhh. This place is all around okay. The best thing we got was the wings. They came super crispy and flavorful, and the sauce was tangy and spicy. My boyfriend got the Dan Dan and i got the Curry Chicken Ramen. The Dan Dan was pretty good. My ramen showed up lukewarm and with undercooked noodles. Was not pleased with the selection of ramen they had--only 2 to pick from. I also thought it was quite pricey for the food and service quality we got. Our waitress always seemed like she couldn't get away from us fast enough..like she was in a rush, despite there being like 10 tables total in the restaurant. As long as you go there expecting to not be wow-ed in anyway you're good. Not at all an authentic ramen experience.

Michael A.

Yelp
Great service. Best steak I've ever eaten. A tad too close to others but I got over that fairly quickly. Cute atmosphere. Worth the experience. Had a great date

Yelp
Food was nice and the place looked nice, however for a place that seems like a noodle restaurant from the outside the prices definitely don't reflect that. Just seemed really pricey for the food that was available.

Yelp
Man. So we were too excited to take pictures so sorry We chose this place cus they do sake flights and sake flights DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Ty, our server, is badass and knows what he's doing. He was attentive, timely, and thoughtful. While we were sad that they stop serving sushi at 8:30 PM, Ty actually checked with the kitchen for us when we had totally accepted that we weren't getting sushi (we showed up close to 9) and was able to sweet talk the kitchen into offering 2 different rolls for us still. Sad that a dope sushi spot offering sake flights and delicious smoky cocktails (and mock tails) stops serving sushi so early on a Saturday, but it was so cool of Ty to ask for us even though we didn't ask him to, and so cool of the kitchen to make an exception! Menu is awesome and veggie friendly! There's veggie ramen with veggie gyozu- super fusiony and yummy. If I lived locally I'd definitely have to come back and try them again with the full sushi menu. Quick service, attentive and fun staff, amazing drink options, and as long as you don't get the 3 exclusive entrees that are $25-40, prices are pretty standard for Japanese food .. string lights outside and Edison lights inside are so cute. Great date night find.

Yelp
What started out as a fun date night turned into a horrible food poisoning hell. My wife and I decided to check out Kinjo before we attended the MMSO concert that evening. By intermission, I knew something was badly wrong, and we left and headed home. What followed were several hours of getting to more intimately know our bathroom, its floor, and the shiny ceramic fixture that makes a "whoosh" sound. My wife got the ribeye, and I got the pork belly. We started with rangoon and potstickers. Honestly, the food was decent going down, but utterly revolting coming back up. The service was fine, and the environment was alright. I did lose 4 lbs by the next morning if anyone's looking for a quick weight loss scheme. Otherwise, do not eat here.

Romana H.

Yelp
Love this place will definitely come again easy be a regular here. Didn't get to try the food but the drinks were spot on and creative. Great convo with the owner. It was quiet music was the best. We stayed the whole night

Yelp
Amazing food and people. My favorite is the Dan Dan noodles. Have semi private room for medium sized groups.

Yelp
Very good food and a great experience twice in a row - once for a birthday, and once on our own. We plan to return very soon.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, but I don't. Food: the selection is great for this part of Georgia. I was really looking forward to my Ramen, but it was salty. The curry flavor proved too much for my pallet especially Curry and salt broth then teriyaki flavor chicken. The noodles were cooked perfect, but the flavors didn't quiet come together. My drink was the same experience, it looked great... lacking that ummff My husband and I enjoyed the sushi and he really enjoyed the lamb. Second reason- We had great service from two servers that were tending to us. One was a male and one was a female.... The female must have taken a break or something, but she came back smelling like an ashtray. I did not love that and wanted to leave as soon as my experience shifted. It totally killed the vibe for me

Yelp
No joke, the best wings I have ever had in my life anywhere. Crispy and sauced with a unique Asian flavor. The dumplings are also outstanding. Only been here a couple times but both times I have been very impressed. Can't wait to go again.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday evening after doing a search for ramen. I was surprised to see a menu in Macon that featured so may vegetarian friendly dishes. The service was delightful! I sampled the fried cauliflower, it was good but not enough sauce. The veggie baos needed more flavor. But gotta love those bao buns! The sake was surprisingly delicious, tasted more like champagne. Lastly, the veggie ramen. The star dish. Packed full of flavor and veggies and noodles. If parking wasn't paid I would return here a few more times for sure. In response to covid-19, the tables are spaced out. The menus are paper and they have two hand sanitizer dispensers by the entrance/exit.

Girish H.

Yelp
Friendly staff! Good service and ambiance, but the worst Ramen and fried rice I have ever had.
google avatar

Janne T.

Yelp
They must've read all the reviews about their ramen and decided that the best way to solve the issue was to add a cup of salt to their broth. I ordered a Tonkotsu ramen, which is a classic for all ramen places. It looked really good at first but then I saw brussel sprouts and zucchini and I decided right then that it's not your traditional Tonkotsu. No chashu, no seaweed, no bamboo shoots, no fish cake - pretty much all of your essentials. They didn't bother to separate the noodles after boiling as they were very much still tightly packed together when it was served. You end up spending a good amount of time swishing your noodles around in order to break them apart, hence, cooling my broth. My husband ordered the curry ramen and he mentioned the same saltiness of the broth. The aesthetic and ambiance was nice. Very quiet and intimate place for a date night. Service was great but I wish the food was just as good.

Yelp
Came in a couple times for food and drinks. Their menu changes but thus far I've tried their baos, pork belly, Hawaiian poke. Food is just okay to be honest however their bar and drink selection is excellent. They have a selection of Japanese whiskey which is what I prefer but their cocktails were actually really good! Would come back for drinks only.

Yelp
My Family and I have ate here several times before yesterday. Each visit was progressively worse. Yesterday, Saturday afternoon, not busy, it took forever to get our food, there were out of all kind of foods on the menu Finally i get my steak sandwich and there is a piece of meat the size of a BandAid????? It was a joke, to wait so long and then get a sliver of meat on this large piece of bread The Ahi Tuna was just a cheap piece of tuna, not the grade you would expect for the Price???? Not going back. Very disappointing Go to Olivers!!!

Yelp
Great little place! Food was spot on. We lived in Japan so not quite the same but a good fusion! Will definitely go back! Highly recommended!

Yelp
5 star ambiance 5 star service 5 star cocktail list And I'm SO HAPPY to say, the food was 5 stars as well. (You have to get the Bao buns and sparking sake to drink). Anyone from Macon knows that there are plenty of cool restaurants and we just want their food to be better than it is ... but Kinjo has it figured out!!

Yelp
First time here. The appetizers are great. The Bao we had was fantastic and had great flavor. There's a hint of spice that really pops at the end. The veggie tempura was perfectly crisp and crunchy. The special of the day was a fried deviled egg which was unusual and yummy. We got their shoyu ramen with extra egg. The broth was tasty, but I felt like they held back on the flavor so they could complement the 3 different "Flavor bombs" (wasabi, garlic, and siracha) that they offer (these are 50 cents extra each). The flavor bombs are quite strong, and do complement the broth well. The meat in the pork shoyu is sliced pork tenderloin, not the traditional pork belly that is usually in ramen. It was a little dry. The egg was initally cold, so be sure to dunk it in the broth to warm it up. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff is super friendly, and we definitely enjoyed our visit.

Kayla M.

Yelp
TL/DR; Online order for carry-out, food was meh, items ordered were not included, but staff was very nice. This was our first time ordering from Kinjo. We frequent ramen restaurants in ATL often, and were excited to finally get something closer to home. Their ramen choices are limited, but pretty unique, in my opinion. We prefer simpler bowls, so I was happy to see they have a "build-your-own" option during their lunch hours, and decided to give them a try. Here's the bad and the good. Bad- The ramen: The tonkotsu broth and marinated eggs were VERY salty. The pickled carrots didn't really taste pickled. The seasonal greens that I ordered were not included at all. Chicken and waffles: They were out of waffle, so they subbed a biscuit (totally fine with this because they called first). But they gave us only the bottom half of a not-so-great biscuit. We asked for the included gochujang and honey on the side, but did not receive the sauces. And unfortunately the chicken was pretty bland and left wanting. Good- The noodles were great. Perfect texture! The egg rolls were smaller than expected, but very good! All the people I spoke to over the phone were really nice and professional. I think a Chelsea called to let us know that they did not have waffles, and politely asked if a biscuit was okay, before confirming our online order. When my husband got our food home, I noticed that the seasonal greens were missing and called. I spoke to a Taylor, who was very nice and put a manager, also named Taylor, on the phone. The second Taylor was also polite, and offered to prepare the vegetables or refund the cost of them. It's Cherry Blossom Festival, so it already took almost an additional 45 minutes to find parking, so there was no way we could come back to get them, and I told her that they are only $1.50. I was more concerned with the kitchen paying attention because they are very busy, and it is such a pain to have to correct things like this.

Yelp
This is by far the best restaurant in downtown Macon, I really enjoy my meal every time My wife and I have visited, the food is top quality and the atmosphere has a high end feel not like every burger joint downtown. I've had the Japanese garlic ribeye the last couple of times we have eaten there and it's the best steak this side of Atlanta, and my wife's sea bass plate was just as incredible, their small plates are fantastic and the desserts are to die for, we do the cheese cake every time. It's a must try, will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Food and service was amazing. I ordered the noodle bowl also which is not pictured, it was good but I didn't really like it.

Yelp
Visited on a weeknight. We ordered crab rangoons and pot stickers as apps. They arrived lukewarm and could have been a bit hotter temperature wise. They were good, not great. I like that they used real crab meat, but they just didn't have a ton of taste to them. Both apps were pretty expensive for the size/quantity. Ramen and beef and broccoli entrees were delicious. Loved the bulgogi beef although there wasn't a ton of it. Our cocktails were great as well. Overall though, loved the atmosphere and our server was very friendly and attentive. Food arrived promptly. We will be back as it was a really great date night spot, but we'll skip the apps next time.

Yelp
First time , last time. The sign and ambiance was very inviting , yet they either have to bring the authentic Chef to keep the torch up or need mor training. Ramen was bland and no seasoning, Serving raw food must be well tested and need to watched. Poke was ordered and it has a funny taste and smell. Macon is a historic place and it brings a lot of tourist from all over the world. Patrons who are well circled can tell the difference of food you served.

A E.

Yelp
First time visit included the black cat speakeasy followed by dinner at Kinjo. What a great and unusual experience! Speakeasy was comfortable, great cocktails and throw back to a previous era. Upstairs for dinner, Enjoyed pot stickers and crab Rangoon, followed by an outstanding ramen tonkotso bowl followed by a delightful dessert. Dining experience had a light, fresh, sleek, classy feel unlike other places in Macon. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Yelp
We ordered the Pot stickers and two ramens. All the food that came out was very flavorless, lacking even salt. The pot stickers tasted as if they had been in the freezer for a long time, tasting a little old and the dough was hard and crunchy like it was over cooked. The ramen was lacking any flavor as well. The broth tasted incredibly watered down and the meat tasted old. The pot stickers took about 20 minutes to get to us and the ramen took about 40 minutes to get to the table. The prices are very high and they charged extra for common vegetables that you would find in other ramens. The 7 piece pot stickers cost $15 and the ramen soups collectively cost about $32. The bar is nice though but we didn't have any drinks.

Ashley R.

Yelp
only one waiter working so not his fault that it took so long to take our order but with how busy it was more waiting staff was needed. please don't waste time on the bao but the chicken wings were good. prices were fine but still not worth the hassle or money also i asked for napkins and it seems like two sheets were ripped from the bathroom dispenser

David T.

Yelp
Bar has fantastic cocktails. Staff is on top of operations. And food, especially Ramen, is great.

Bre F.

Yelp
Checked this spot out for dinner and drinks. Was excited because the menu was my kind of flavor. Started with cocktails. This place has amazing drinks. I would come back time and time again for the pimms cup. It was rated upon the top drinks I've ever had. Honestly blown away. Great job. The food was mediocre though. Peach Buretta starter... good but nothing special. I ordered the Ramen and it was ok. It had all the right stuff in it, but the flavor didn't speak to me like I wanted it to. It was not bad, it was just OK. My husband had the hamachi, he thought it was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was fine. Place was cute. I would come back for drinks and I would eat there again. Just would lower my sky high expectations on the food.

Yelp
The food and cocktails were great as was the service. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Also not pictured is the Duck Dan Dan which I would highly recommend. Epic flavor

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. I came in for a few appetizers as I was having a fun tasting day of downtown Macon and this was my first stop. Had a little bit of everything and found it very tasty. Not necessarily authentic on some of the items but a lot of people are putting their own twist on classic dishes and I have no issues with that. The service was friendly and attentive as well. Will definitely be back for another visit.

Yelp
I'm impressed at the improvement from opening month of the restaurant. When I went to Kinjo when it first opened after tasting the food and seeing the menu I though it was a huge disappointment and just another restaurant that watered down its flavor for middle Georgia residents. However, I went last month and the Valentine's Day menu was the best I've ever had. I was so impressed I went again a week later and it was just as good I wished they had kept some of the items but who doesn't love an exclusive menu. The food was much better more flavor less creativity for more culinary flavor that works. I believe the biggest issue when it opened was the food was fresh but not good, it was too bold and too over complex that the flavors of the dishes did not taste good together. Would recommend now the one star off is honestly for lack of wait staff.
google avatar

Nikki R.

Yelp
Ambiance is amazing but, the wait on the food is really long. Also, I ordered the lamb ribs and they were tough as nails. I was so disappointed but the sauce on them were amazing. Overall, my date was amazing.

Yelp
The food and service is spectacular and the atmosphere is really unique for Macon. We celebrated my mother's 91st birthday there last night and they helped make it very special. You MUST try their deserts, ramen, bao, wings and salad (some of my personal favorites) . The cocktails are unique and customized by the bartenders and they pour with a heavy hand .
google avatar

Cheryl L.

Yelp
Kinjo definitely has a lot going for it and some things to improve. My friends were in the mood for Kinjo's Asian inspired menu so we headed there for dinner last weekend. The room was upscale and service was friendly and accommodating. The cocktail menu was original and each of our drinks well served and so good! We all agreed that the Munchies starter with Korean chicken wings, veggie tempura, crab Rangoon and egg rolls was tasty but with only 2 small Rangoon and 2 tiny egg rolls, it was hard to share. The entrees were disappointing. As other reviewers have stated, the ramen had no flavor. The salmon salad was very small. The curry (with tofu ) had a great flavor but so little sauce with a lot of rice. All in all, portion sizes were not a match for the prices. We all agreed that Kinjo is great for cocktails. Next time, we will head to the bar and skip the dining room.

Yelp
I enjoyed the customer service. The duck taste pretty good ! I'm not a complete fan of the 6-minute egg though.

Yelp
Kinjo is the only restaurant currently open in Macon that would compete in a larger city. Excellent atmosphere that is modern without pretension combined with inspired cocktails and a novel delicious menu is guaranteed to leave any diner with a positive impression. Pro tip: don't sleep on the Korean Fried Chicken and always finish with cheesecake!

Yelp
Great atmosphere and presentation, but lack of taste in food. I was very excited to have a local place in town that served ramen, especially since we have to travel at least an hour away to normally get it. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen which is served with pork belly. Ramen is a broth based soup so I do expect for the broth to be flavorful, instead it just tastes like spicy water with cardboard flavored noodles. I did order a garlic bomb as well to help add to the flavor of the broth, but honestly it did not help at all. The pork belly served as well should have been sliced thinner, it was very tough to eat. I really wanted to like it here after all the great things I've heard, but I will be continuing to go to Atlanta for Ramen. Service was great as well, and after learning I did not like the ramen the server did take it off my tab.

Yelp
Came here for Saturday brunch with a friend of mine and I was a little underwhelmed. The pink drink I had was delicious and they did a great job with the pour. It was refreshing and fruity I really enjoyed the drink. My food however is where the mark was missed. I ordered the steak and eggs which was a skirt steak over potatoes, topped with an over easy egg and chimmichurri. The steak was a super tiny portion and it was chewy and fatty. The flavor was definitely there but my jaw hurt from how long I had to chew it. I ordered it medium as well so it shouldn't have been chewy, not to the extent it was anyways. My friends got the Kinjo version of chicken and waffles. Their meal was extremely good. The chicken was fresh and flavorful and they topped it with a jalapeño honey I think. It was also very crunchy which I loved! Next time I'm getting what they ordered because mine just wasn't great.

Yelp
The service was amazing! Super helpful staff. The food presentation was very good. The food itself was ok. It's probably a great choice for Ramen in the Middle GA area. Would like more depth in the broth. Definitely would go back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and money well spent. The duck was fantastic, ramen was good as well. Recommend ordering the app sampler to try a little of everything. Enjoyed the cocktails, but would love to see Orion beer available. I know the menu is seasonal, but I'm hoping to see some gyudon or Japanese style curry (ala Cocos pork/chicken cutlet) added to the menu someday. Worth the money and will be back again soon!
