My kids and I were looking for something sweet and just so happened to be in Beaverton. It was a toss up between Salt & Straw and this place. We'd never been here and the prices looked ok for the area, so we decided to try it.
My son got the maple bacon roll and my daughter got the cherry pie sundae. I tried both.
The verdict was that the ice cream was decent and my son liked the bacon on the roll (who doesn't like bacon?). Otherwise, both were sort of meh on it all. My verdict, having enjoyed several different cinnamon rolls in my 48 years, is that it was a sub par roll and the soft serve was decent, if unremarkable. What really bothered me (well, all of us) was that the frosting just tasted like butter. It was nearly devoid of sweetness, which I found particularly odd. The roll was decent, if a bit dry. Nothing to crow about. The bacon was... ok.
Anyway, maybe it was the kind of roll and sundae we chose, but honestly, I don't get the hype. We definitely wouldn't go out of our way or recommend it and we won't miss it if we never had it again. Winco cinnamon rolls do the trick just fine and they're only a buck a piece for twice the size with much better icing IMHO.
Service was decent. Ambiance was okay, though seating was limited. They should really cover their kitchen windows. On the walk around the building, our first impression was seeing stacked pans and clutter on racks by the windows.
