"Shortwave Cinema, Bermondsey Street. This cosy, lusciously red velvet 52 seat cinema, cafe and bar screens the best of art house cinema, recent releases and previews for emerging filmmakers. Situated in Bermondsey Square it offers an intimate and relaxed environment where, of an evening, you could just as easily happen upon an independent film festival, a directors debut, a late night viewing or dancing alongside local DJs."

Really enjoy visiting the Arzner in its capacity as a cafe, bar and cinema. The space is quiet and relaxed in the day, and buzzing and vibrant by night, with a varied menu of unique cocktails. The cinema screen is intimate, with a well-curated selection of films.

Just went here for the first time and I'm absolutely in love with this place. Immaculate vibes, delicious cocktails, great music, wonderful staff, comfy seats in the bar and cinema, cheap popcorn... They're showing all sorts of queer movies. Its literally the perfect place if you just want to hang out at the bar or watch a film or both!

went to find a study cafe after 9pm, came across this place. So cozy, and coffee was delicious. New work spot.

A great place to work, read, chill in SE1. I love the business model, education, awareness, art, the cinema, subscription, discounts. It’s got a great vibe, nice books too on queer and art, politics, critical theory and very multipurpose without being preachy. They’ve kept the menu light which is great. They do coffees with biscuits and their mocktails are some of the best I’ve had! Would choose the virgin over their happy hour booze though - but very generous. Love these guys anyway - good vibes & a lot of intention behind it all. Also adding with all the listening bars buzz going on in the city: a fantastic playlist, the films are chosen so well - everything has a soul and mind behind it - keep it up!

What a lovely intimate cinema, one screen with about 40 seats, with a lovely bar area outside managed by great staff. Visited for the New Renaissance Film Festival and it was a lovely experience as a whole. Bar prices are also very good for a London venue.

Haven’t tried the cinema yet, but the bar part is excellent! A hidden gem just off bermondsey street. Fantastic cocktails and great vibe. Highly recommend

Beautiful location but no one notices you. I sit at a table on the terrace for 25 minutes, I've smoked 3 cigarettes already and no one comes to ask what I want even though it's not crowded at all. shame about the location.

Had I not been staying in the hotel next door last night I would never have the pleasure of discovering this hidden gem! Nestled next to the Bermondsey Square Hotel this newly opened bar (and soon to be opened cinema) is well worth a visit. The staff are lovely and the food snacks & drinks menu are on point. Our order of Rhubarb Gin & Tonics and Mushroom Rolls were delicious! We will definitely be back
