Underwhelmed by the food and service here. We had 8 course Omakase. One of the course was a mediocre crab cake. Fish were fresh, but nothing unique. Bill automatically included 15% service charge.

Amazing food. Open kitchen with absolutely no noise, lots of care for the costumer and a friendly staff to greet you and make sure you are satisfied. Great wine recommendations, amazing menus and perfectly fashioned dishes. Not one bad word can be said about this place. 10/10 phenomenal.

Kinoshita is not an all-you-can-eat buffet — it’s a beautifully choreographed flavor meditation. Each tiny dish is a masterpiece: precise, delicious, and elegantly served with ritual-like grace. Yes, the portions are small, but every bite is a culinary poem. Come hungry for art, not volume. Worth every delicate, umami-packed moment.

Amazing omakase experience, with Charles and Alexandre showcasing their skills at the sushi bar. All staff were friendly, attentive and professional. Food was amazing, recommend for anyone who enjoys Japanese cuisine.

We trusted the Omakase, and I recommend you do the same. delicate, simple, balanced, well plated, expertly served within a quiet ambiance. The fish was fresh and delicious. We sat at the sushi bar and watched Victor, the sushi man, prepare some of the dishes for our omakase meal. They had a great selection of sake as well. The service was excellent, thanks to Victor, Fabio (our server), and Chef Orlando.

Food was good but for the prices it was hyperinflated. Better options in São Paulo Michelin star????

We had dinner at Kinoshita last Friday, and while there were some positives, the overall experience left us puzzled—especially given its Michelin-starred status! First, let’s talk about the atmosphere. The music choice, though great in another context (I love Peggy Gou’s “I Can’t Explain” for example), felt wildly out of place for a Michelin-starred dinner. It clashed with the setting and the expected sophistication. The open kitchen concept, while often a highlight in such restaurants, was poorly executed here. It was more chaotic than inspiring! Seeing plastic bags of frozen scallops and vegetables completely shattered the illusion of fine dining. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, this was deeply disappointing. That said, the chef running the operations that night was truly lovely—charming and clearly passionate about his craft. However, even their warmth couldn’t salvage what felt like an underwhelming and inconsistent experience. I’m not mad at Kinoshita, nor at the dedicated chef. My frustration is directed at the Michelin Guide. Their glowing review of this place feels, frankly, like an insult to diners. In French, we’d call this du foutage de gueule! This experience stands out—not as a highlight, but as a reminder that the star system doesn’t always align with reality. Would I recommend? Only if you’re willing to overlook the glaring inconsistencies and focus solely on the pleasant personality of the chef.

The omakase was too expensive and wasn't quite as good as I was expecting for the value we paid. We reserved in advance and the restaurant was very large but parking was valet only. We came for dinner & were seated at a table. The service was great but the sashimi and sushi experience for me wasn't fell short for a Michelin star restaurant.

We got the tasting menu and it was good but honestly fell short of expectations. My main qualm was that the fish tasted frozen and not fully thawed. My favorite dish was the tempura and crab cake in wasabi bechamel. Both were executed beautifully with the perfect crunch and bite. The cheesecake tofu dessert was a good end to our meal. Probably wouldn't return again as I've had other much better 1* Michelin Japanese meals.

Had the best omakase experience here. This may be the best meal I've had. There were around 12 courses, and the company was so good the meal lasted 5 hours.

It was raining a ton in São Paulo and I needed some lunch; going far is out of the question because traffic is a nightmare when it rains. Kinoshita was walking distance from my hotel so I decided to give it a try. Great service and fish was very fresh. I was between three and four stars but I'm feeling generous. The reason why I wouldn't give Kinoshita five stars is because of the limited choices if you want to eat sushi. I sat at the sushi counter alone, and usually I just tell the chef to have at it, serving me the freshest sushi, omakase style. Unfortunately, this was not possible at Kinoshita. I had to select from the menu and even though I was at the counter all of the sushi was served at once (see pictures). I also wanted to add some pieces, and again, it was weird that I could not order a single piece of sushi like the rest of the sushi restaurants in São Paulo, but had to order two of each. If there's another rainy day, I'd come back, if not, I'd go to my usual spots.

So fresh, amazing flavors. The set lunch menu is such a great deal. The blue fin nigiri (pair) melts in your mouth. Spicy tuna Temaki (hand roll) was perfect nlend if flavors and the tuna was in the full hand roll straight to the bottom. Unagi was perfection. I can't wait to return and try more. Exemplary service!

High-quality, traditionally prepared sushi with just the right amount of creative flair. Expensive -- the nine-course omakase is R$360 -- but worth it if you have some cash to spare. They don't have the same variety of fish that you'd find at a good sushi place in California or Japan but they make up for it with great attention to detail. The staff is incredibly friendly as well. Minus one star for using fake wasabi.

Hands down, the best sushi I've ever had to date. My boyfriend and I had the scallops with garlic as a starter and our minds were blown. The scallops were so fresh and melted in our mouths. We then ordered a selection of 9 sushi pieces which was freaking amazing!! The fish was so fresh and was prepared simply. They don't have to do much to fresh fish!! My favorite was the salmon and my boyfriends was the scallops. After that teaser of a meal, we decided to go all out and order more. So we ordered an udon soup with shrimp tempura and egg and a 9 piece selection of sashimi. The udon soup had a very flavorful broth and the noodles were cooked perfectly. If the place wasn't so fancy, I probably would have picked up the bowl with my hands and slurped the remaining pieces at the end. So good! As far as the service, it was superb!! We didn't realize this place was on the fancier side and showed up in jeans/t-shirts but the wait staff were still very friendly - not snotty here! We sat at the bar which was the only open space and had a great view of the action!! We literally saw the sushi chefs making everything and they would answer our questions / wave over the waiter if they thought we needed something. The front of the house chef even came to talk to us during our meal to see if we liked it and find out where we are from. Very impressed by the efficiency of this restaurant and the very engaging staff. At the end of the night, they asked us a couple of times if they wanted to hunt down a cab for us - awesome service!! If you are in the area, you have to check this place out for some amazing sushi! However, be prepared to spend some extra dollar bills because your bill can rack up pretty quickly but totally worth it!!

My first impression was not good. I arrived 10 minuets early and a waitress who saw me continued doing selfie instead of inviting me in. I tried the tasting menu. The plates are of good taste and setting is perfect. Most of the ingredients are great. What makes me reduce a star is because of the sencha, Kobe beef and soba. Sencha is really kenmaicha. The beef is not bad, but by no means Kobe beef, and could be improved by adding less salt. And the soba noodle is no better than what I can get from the supermarket, and the soup is again too salty. All the seafoods are flawless. And if Kinoshita can improve on the other sides, I believe it can go further than Michelin one star.

Great eats. The Omakase was outstanding. Owner / chef Murakami-san is an outstanding host that knows good taste.

This is the best and most interesting Japanese food I have ever had. I worked in Japan several years and often eat at the best Japanese restaurants in the United States. This is tops do not miss it. The pork is incredible. There is a braised Salmon dish with a sauce to die for. We had sushi that was excellent but the blending of flavors in an innovative and tastie way is what this place is about. Just got it's first Michelin star. This place is not to be missed! Plus it was nice people and a fun spot

This was one of the best meals I have ever had in all my travels! The food was fresh, very flavorful and had a interesting twist to it. The chef is very passionate in his food! This place is a must go to in São Paulo!

I've eaten dinner and shared sake & beer with the staff a number of times - you know, just like you do at the sushi bars in Japan. The service and attention to detail is impeccable. The food has always been extremely fresh, artfully prepared and thoughtfully presented. I will say, if you're hungry be prepared to spend a little more than usual. However, something you can't put a price on is, the dining experience. The Sensei and his team ensure you have an informative, exciting and deliciously creative dinner. If you are looking for a great time with exceptionally prepared food and outstanding service. Kinoshita should be on your dining agenda. Kinoshita is great and for the quality you get the price is reasonable. I was with a friend from Tokyo and he said that Kinoshita was the best sushi he has has outside of Japan. Furthermore the customer service was great. I forgot a hoodie and they shipped locally within São Paulo for me. One of two restaurants I feel obligated to go back to the next time I am in São Paulo.

A colleague and I dined here this evening. He is a fish eater but doesn't like sushi. I ordered the Toro and Salmon Nigiri for him to try. I ate first to make sure it was good fish. I'm not exaggerating - I've never had a better piece of sushi. The Toro was like butter smooth and the salmon as well. Excellent fish and perfect preparation. He ate both and was very impressed and loved the food. A few rolls and a bowl of Udon noodles and we were quite impressed. All food is immaculately made. You can't go wrong. Keep in mind that this is a more traditional Japanese restaurant. You won't find a menu full of rolls with pictures.

Great meal. Very friendly and service was out of sight. Had the 7 course chef's special. Everything was great. Fried pork bellies in special sauce and tuna course were highlights. Even kept my Sapporo's cold table side. English friendly. Highly reccomend.
