Café Olimpico to Open New Location in Downtown Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Still rapidly expanding, the Toronto-based ramen ladle chain has added a new location on McGill Street at Notre-Dame in Old Montreal; Kinton first opened in Montreal in 2016 and then, starting in mid-2018, added several more locations including Côte-des-Neiges, Westmount, and Carrefour Laval." - Tim Forster

Google
I ordered the Pork Original Ramen with extra pork and sweet corn, and shared the Chicken Karaage and Pork Gyoza with my brother. The portion sizes were solid—we both left full and satisfied. The Karaage was especially good, and I really liked the rich broth from the ramen. The sweet corn added a nice touch, balancing the savory flavors of the soup and meat. The restaurant itself had a great vibe, with a nice city view and music that wasn’t too loud or distracting. Overall, good food, great atmosphere—I’d definitely come back.

Google
The ramen was great, but nothing particularly memorable. The service was also average, not bad, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, it was an okay experience. Since there are not many ramen restaurants in Old Montreal, if you are craving a ramen in the area, you can try this place.

I never went here before, I wanted to try something new with my wife. The waiter looked tired and really annoyed. I was respectful and told him I was new and didn’t know much and asked which dish was popular, he was very soft spoken and I couldn’t hear him very well, anyways I ordered from a picture to get over the ordering situation asap. The food was awesome and the portion humongous, I’m so full, I just wish the waiter would have been more patient or understanding, there was no lineup, he was smiling and kind to women which made me feel more unwelcome. The food was great but because of that waiter I won’t be returning, I feel kinda bad about leaving a not so great review because the food was really good and I would have had a great first experience. The wooden stools were also a little uncomfortable over time.

Google
Kinton has been always been my go to for Ramen in Toronto. Being able to have Kinton in Montreal is such a treat. Normally even in Toronto, some Kinton dish quality is not there, but everything with my Pork Shoyu bowl was spot on at this location.👌 Noodles were cooked just right, broth was not overpowering, and takoyaki was good too. This location was very spacious and staff was very friendly 🙏

Google
Big ramen fan here! I’ve tried plenty of ramen spots around Montreal, so Kinton Ramen Square Victoria was on my radar for a while. Finally gave it a shot and honestly… it was just meh. I asked for a recommendation and was told to go for the pork, so I ordered the pork original with extra chashu. The bowl itself was decent, but nothing really stood out. That alone came to $22, which already felt a bit steep. I added takoyaki (my favorite side), and the total ended up being $36 with tax and tip. For a weekday lunch, that’s pretty pricey. The food wasn’t bad, but it didn’t leave me satisfied either....more like I left wondering if I overspent. Overall, not the worst, but not a place I’d be rushing back to.

We stopped by Kinton Ramen for a quick bite to eat over lunch before heading out to the airport. It has a modern lounge feel that’s set up like a noodle bar, with a long block of seating overseeing the open kitchen. It has a warm ambiance set to lounge-style music. The original pork ramen was pretty good. The broth was nice and light but the pork was a bit too chewy for my personal taste. We also got the original chicken with shirataki noodles which was pretty solid; it was also very light although less salty than other ramen places. Overall, it was a pretty solid experience. You’re getting a $15.99 bowl of ramen served steaming hot and you get to enjoy it in a chill ambiance for back drop. No real complaints here. Good vibes only!!

Google
Tried the Veggie Spicy Garlic ramen and it was ok! It had a spice level comparable to Shin Ramyun, which I wouldn’t recommend to those with a very low spice tolerance. It also had a very strong raw garlic taste, almost a little fishy. The serving size of noodles was pretty moderate, which I enjoyed as it didn’t leave me feeling overly full, but a single slice of inari as protein was a bit underwhelming. Overall decent, but nothing I would crave. Service was pretty quick despite coming on a weekday at 12PM, I was able to come and leave within 40 minutes! Total was about $21, which felt a little high for the portion size and toppings.

Google
Visiting Montreal for a show with the kids and they requested ramen for dinner. Great location from the hotel and the kids loved it! Had some appetizers and we ordered the pork miso and the original chicken. Would visit again!

Yelp
It's an incipient Ramen chain. There is a side elevator to reach the dining floor for those in a wheelchair. Plenty of tables and a long dining counter. There's a variety of ramen and some Japanese side dishes on the menu - see photo Karagge, tokoyaki, no Okonomiyaki, though. They serve Japanese beers and domestic, ie Canadian. Delicately braised pork belly in a tasty broth and braised vegetables. Our server was very engaging and professional; explaining the different ramen thicknesses and styles and how they affect the flavor and texture. The karaage chicken was delicious; crispy and moist inside.

Yelp
Perfect on a cold winter night. Went after a day of outdoor ice skating and was greeted by a very helpful and welcoming waiter. He helped guide us on broth and spicy and we all loved the ramen we chose. So delicious! When back in Canada we will be back...until then I need to see if they have a spot in NY!

Erin C.

Yelp
Hot ramen and cold ice cream! Staff was very welcoming and had great menu suggestions.

Yelp
Craving for some ramen? Then definitely stop by Kinton Ramen when you're in Montreal! Great food and service!

Cole S.

Yelp
Great Ramen shop. Excellent staff and great ramen. We stopped by with our kids and had a wonderful time.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Yuzu hot tea must try. We had the chicken ramen and flavors was perfect

Yelp
Worth going to try the monthly ramen specials. November was the black shoyu ramen, very flavorful and filling. Employees are super friendly and professional. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for solo or date dining.

Yelp
Short staffed with terrible service. Waited 30 min before seated with tons of open table. No common sense to let ppl sit at the open tables first. Food was terrible. Soggy noodles. Too salty.

Yelp
I walked by and immediately was drawn in by the calm ambiance of the place! Luckily for me the food was absolutely delicious as well. The chef really knows what he's doing back there and the wait staff was friendly.

Yelp
Good noodles. Broth needs to be heartier. Also they need more help upfront. Karage is good.

Yelp
Used to love this place and was a regular for a long time I went back, ordered my usual Tonkotsu with extra eggs and pork... and was thoroughly disappointed. The broth seemed watered down and didn't taste like much. They cut down on meat portions to the point where I ended up with less pork in my bowl, with an extra, than I had without the extra before. The meat slices were so thin I could see through them. Eggs clearly needed more time to marinate as well. They were whiter than usual and didn't taste like much. Needless to say I will not be coming back. I'm very sad, because I really loved this place and ordered those extra's because of how great they used to be.

Yelp
Ramen in a Montréal? How can it be any good? Boy was I wrong! It was so good! The broth was delicious and the noodles were just right. I don't know how to describe it but other broth sometimes are too salty. This was perfect. The price was reasonable. It wasn't excessively expensive either. The dessert was excellent as well. The mango cheesecake was so good. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Popped in on a rainy Sunday for some good old ramen. Look no further, they do ramen right! I got the original ramen with thin noodles, came out nice and piping hot. The broth was amazing-hearty and light, and not overly salty. I asked for a sapporo which came a bit late along with water that was an afterthought but it's not the server's fault, multiple tables and one guy running around. He was apologetic so I'll give him a pass. If you're hungry, craving for some comfort food, look no further and come by!

Yelp
Right off the bat we got the worst attitude from our waitress. I just walked in from the freezing cold. There were only two people inside eating. It's 6pm, not rush hour. Asked her for Karaage chicken ramen. She asks, what flavor? I was confused, instead of telling me the 3 flavors, she tells me to read it on the menu. Yes, my waitress said "read the menu" see photo. Then I asked for hot rice wine, my brain couldn't find the word Sake. She looked at me as if I said something stupid and said No!, we don't have that. They have sake carafes on display.

Yelp
First time in Montreal and craved for Ramen since it's a bit rainy. Friendly staff as i was greeted right away. Busy but managed to get out of there within 15 minutes. Had the regular shoyu ramen. Very good and reasonable price. Will come back for sure .

Yelp
Fantastic welcome yelled by all employees to anyone entering the restaurant. I wasn't sure what was happening when I first walked in but quickly understood it was a greeting. Very cool. I loved the tables with the small stools. We got there right when it opened and it was soon full. Very popular place. Our waiter was great. He explained the menu. We tried a sake Shirley (wow, strong) and a Sapporo (good). For an appetizer we got the edamame. Just salty enough and a big portion. The real star was their special - Tonkotsu Shoyu Black. Woah! Absolutely incredible broth. The portion was huge. Big chunks of pork belly. Two pickled eggs. And the noodles were amazing. Heavenly. The kind of tonkotsu that you have to pick up the bowl at the end and slurp away. No complaints at all about this restaurant. I had wanted to try the original but it was closed and I'm so happy we dumb lucked (parked nearby) into finding this one!

Yelp
In MTL on business - had the pleasure of dinner at Kinton. For the table - Edamame and Vegetable Gyozas. The Edamame was steamed perfect with just the right amount of salt. The Gyozas were good just a little overdone for my liking. The creamy chilli dipping sauce was delicious. The star of the show Miso Pork with Send noodles and an additional egg. The broth was rich and delicious, with the noodles done perfectly. I very much enjoyed the season egg, whose yoke was a perfect medium, ideal for such a delicious soup. The staff were exceptionally friendly and service was perfect. Pricing is very reasonable with 2 people eating with 2 Sapporo for $60. I will be definitely checking out locations closer in Toronto and Mississauga. And definitely will be returning one in Montreal next time

Yelp
One of the best ramen places I've ever been to. The noodle texture is so good and the flavors to choose from are great. You also can't go wrong with their fried chicken as a side dish. Highly recommend going here.

Yelp
Kin.... Ton..... Kin.... Ton..... KIN....TON! Get your tasty ramen here you won't regret it.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Love the decor but the ramen was quite mediocre in my opinion. I got the only vegetarian option which might be the reason for that but I have definitely had better.
google avatar

Kathrina R.

Yelp
By far my favourite ramen place to go too. Food is always perfect, service is great with a good ambiance!

Leonna L.

Yelp
Yak bas taste ramen I can make better on my own ! Pay for bad servie ever ! Not original Japanese ramen !

Yelp
Why am I the first person to write a review !!!!!! I had the chicken miso soup based on the recommendation of the waitress. All I can say is that it was amazing!!!!! Will be back soon! Merci

Kuanhung C.

Yelp
The soup and thick noodle are quite good even compare to Japanesse store in Taipei.

Joe S.

Yelp
Mediocre ramen. The chashu pork was tired and dry. Quite disappointing. I had the shoyu, that was a mistake as the original would have included an egg for an alternative protein source to the chashu which I hardly touched.

Rokiju R.

Yelp
it was very bad I threw up and got food poisoning because of it. I would not suggest to anyone... all good reviews are fake.

Cristina B.

Yelp
Absolutely not vegan friendly. Charges you extra for replacing ingredients for another. Menu is misleading with the "100% vegetarian broth" option, because you would assume they've done their due diligence in providing alternatives.
