KINTON RAMEN WEST LOOP

No wait on a Saturday night for a table of 6. No beer in tap and no cold cans. Room temp Ashani isn’t great. Ramen took a little bit longer than expected to come out but pretty good for the price. Good broth on the pork original and the spicy broth lives up to its name (it’s spicy). Probably won't be back.

This has become one of my favorite places to go for Ramen. Why? Great flavor. The noodles, broth, seasonings are delicious. I also found the staff to be friendly and will share information on how things are prepared as I asked a question about this. Loved it so much, I was curious to know if I could try it at home. But as they say, "Don't try this at home." I'll leave it up to the experts.

This is a good neighborhood restaurant we tried the spicy I think I will go with miso next time. For the veggie I think lack greens like bokchoy or some green veggie. They have outdoor seating very small spots but it was perfect for us.

Located in trendy West Loop, there is a great deal of competition nearby. If solid ramen without much frill of the goal of the day, this is an ideal place. Different types of broth were all distinct and flavorful. The texture of ramen was chewy in a good way. Perfect place for a quick bite of ramen with warm sake on a cold night.

Wonderful little ramen spot! Many options to pick and choose/create your own ramen. Great for those who like to have a variety of choices. More “western” influenced ramen flavors but they do have a selection of more authentic flavors as well. Their eggs are delicious and I highly recommend!

The ramen itself was very yummy, I just wished there was more protein in there, I got only two pieces of pork and my boyfriend two pieces of tofu. Also I feel like there could be a little more noodles, but ramen was good so I recommend this place. On the pictures there are spicy veggie ramen and spicy pork

Got the $12 ramen lunch special. Food came out very quickly, would have preferred the two dishes to be spaced out slightly more. The pork donburi was very tasty. Pork was slightly above room temp but still good. Mayo on top mixed with the rice and made a very addicting starter. The plain ramen was nothing special as expected. The thick noodles were good and so were the bamboo shoots, but there was no flavor in the broth. I’m sure their other broths are flavorful, but this was not. Glad to try the donburi as it’s something I would come back for. Definitely a worth while lunch special though.

Great customer service, pricey but that's what you expect in this neighborhood. The donburi is the best bang for your buck. The broth is great no matter what you get. The gyoza are extra crispy.

Kinton Ramen was a pretty quiet and easy going spot in the West Loop. It was super empty when we went so service was really fast. The vegetarian gyoza tasted amazing but was a little too crispy. And I wish it was steamed. But the vegetarian spicy ramen - although more spicy than I usually like, had a fantastic broth! Enjoyed it a lot. Would totally go back and have some more.

My daughter and I love going out for ramen! So to celebrity another one of her academic achievements we headed on over to Kinton on a Tuesday evening. We walked in with no res and were immediately seated. Kinton is a well-lit, casual eatery with a nice crowd of young, artsy types. We checked out the menu and immediately made our decisions: we both had the spicy beef ramen with a side of veggie gyoza, karaage and the Tokyo tots, which are free every Tuesday. Our food was brought out rather quickly and we enjoyed everything. The only thing was the runner took our leftover gyozas and tots without asking if we'd like a box, as a I was signing the check ( my daughter was in the bathroom at the time). I informed the server and she apologized profusely and said she'd make fresh orders. I told her she didn't have to do that but she insisted. So sweet! Kinton Ramen was a win with me. Affordable and perfect for a casual outing with friends, family or a date. I'll be be back!

Came here on a weekday evening and the place was pretty empty. I think maybe 1/3rd of the tables were full. We ordered two flavored lemonades and those were super tasty. I got the pork miso and I overall thought my broth was creamy and flavorful. One thing I noticed was that the tables didn't come with spicy garlic sauce or other seasonings which normal ramen restaurants don't have. Honestly not a big deal and we probably could've asked for it and I'm sure they would've provided cause service was excellent. The vibes are casual, I wore a shirt and jeans. Overall, not a bad experience and their lunch specials are definitely a must try for the reduced price

A solid ramen spot in the west loop! I would recommend the spicy garlic if you're looking for more flavor! They have a ton of options on the menu and the karage chicken was so flavorful! Went on a Friday night and didn't have a wait! The service was quick and staff was friendly!

One of mine and my husband's favorite spots! Love the noodles and the service. Staff is friendly . Just wished parking was easier to fine, but still worth the drive every time.

I was so pleasantly surprised as well as taken back when I had my first sip of the broth. The broth was very well seasoned, making it a perfect bowl of ramen. The seasoned egg is cooked well and not overly well done so that the yolk is not runny. The bean curd tastes so good that my friend who told me she didn't want her bean curd ended up ordering a side of it to munch on. I've been back a few times now and have always enjoyed my bowl of ramen from here. I'm so glad this is just a few blocks from my office so that I can quickly hop over for dinner before heading home. :)

Sometimes you just have a hankering for ramen and Kinton hit the spot. Originally we had planned to go somewhere else but that place had a 2.5 hour wait. Just a few blocks over, Kinton awaited with no wait. The pork shoyu was delicious and it was all a very reasonable price. I also had a beer thanks to the ramen and beer combo. They seem to have a lot of solid promos and rewards programs, so I will most definitely be back.

What a great west loop find. We were craving ramen and found this spot on a whim. It was relatively empty when we walked in at prime dinner rush so we got seated very quickly. There are 4 vegetarian options. We both got the spicy vegetarian garlic ramen. It was such a good broth because it was rich enough but not too thick. If you want it extra spicy you can get the jalapeño paste (it was really tasty I would recommend). I also got an egg which was a nice add as well. Service was on point, very fast. Restaurant itself is big and all seating is bench! Good casual spot for ramen. Great spot, would definitely go again.

It's cold out, it gets dark by 4pm, and fall is officially here. Nothing hits better than a hot bowl of ramen after a long day. Was really looking forward to enjoying this but, the experience was a bit of a downer. The ramen selection is decent. Opted for the pork spicy garlic ramen. The ramen itself was good, however the broth was extremely salty. I finished my beer and water, but needed a replenishment to wash away the flavor. Upon receiving the ramen, we had asked for chili oil and to our surprise, it costs $2 (even the waitress seemed to agree it was too much). This is usually a free condiment at other ramen shops. All in all, a bit underwhelming. It wasn't busy during dinner, so getting a slot here shouldn't be an issue. Food was just ok. Fortunately there are many ramen options across Chicago.

Came here for happy hour! Loved it :) the happy hour options are pretty good. The $5 Sapporo beer was def worth for the big glass they give it in. Very smooooth. I had it with the chicken donguri that was also only $5 for the happy hour. The seating was decent , no complaints there. Service was quick and to the point which I appreciate. The waiter didn't hover too much and was nearby when needed. My date loved the ramen - spicy pork option. I tasted it and loved the base soup as well. I'd recommend trying that. I'd come back again if the karage was a part of the $5 appy specials. I was a little disappointed it wasn't - kind of false advertising but everything else hit the mark so was satisfied all in all. Good parking nearby.

Our server was more than brilliant. His name is gabby and we were served with the best food and drinks. Whats the cherry on top is the sincere genuine service. We tried the new beef ramen and it's yummy to my tummy haha . Lychee martini and Moscow muleeeee!! To die for

If you're looking for a very fast and casual place for Ramen, Kinton fits the bill. There, selection of different types of Ramen, and rice and noodle was expansive. I had the chicken broth with traditional noodles and it was delicious and filling. My wife was very happy with her miso soup with the vegetable noodles. The only underwhelming dish was the gyoza. Not only did the dish, warm it wasn't that flavorful.

This review is dedicated to all the hilarious mo fos who shared this meal with me! I'm so lucky to call these crazy mo fos mia familia! I think things have been a little up and down for me ever since one of my family members started having violent episodes, and now I'm not quite sure the role he's going to play in my life moving forward. I came with a friend during the weekend. It was virtually empty when we went which meant we received really fast service, but it apparently gets super busy later in the evening. They have a veg option which we both went with. The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was super nice. At the end, you get to play a game in order to get a discount on your bill or other prizes.

Great ramen that was ready quickly. I appreciated the good vegetarian options and add-ons. I had the veg spicy garlic with bean sprouts and devoured the whole thing. Service was a little sparse but for how casual the setting is, I didn't mind. Would eat here again!

Came here for lunch on Friday around noon and there wasn't a line. We ordered pork spicy garlic ramen, one with egg and one with seaweed and bamboo. We also ordered hot karaage. Pork spicy garlic ramen 3.5/5: when they said garlic, they meant it. There was a dollop of garlic and it's pretty potent. If you don't like garlic like that, take out at least half. I like garlic but wow, that's a lot of garlic. It made the soup tangy and spicy. It grew on me towards the middle. The spice on here is the slow heat, so you'll feel it a few bites in. The souk broth was very creamy and pretty good. We both got th in noodles and the noodles were too al dente for my liking. I can hear myself bite down on the noodles and that's tok hard for me. The soup was hot, as in temperature, just the way I like it. The cha siu was okay, it was thin but charred on top. The egg was cooked perfectly but I feel like it can be marinated a little longer to give it more flavor. Overall a pretty solid bowl of ramen. Hot karrage 3/5: it smells like buffalo wing sauce and it looks like boneless Korean chicken, but it tastes a little smoky and a little sweet. I would have preferred the regular karaage to eat with the ramen. It had too much flavor to eat with the ramen and the 2 didn't complement each other. If just eating this on it's own, it's good. The karaage has a nice crunch to it as well. Pretty solid place for ramen. Would come back again if I want some ramen.

This place may be criminally rated low, maybe because sometimes the order can take long to get to the table. But truth be told, you can see the kitchen and the delay is generally because it's usually slammed with orders. On the Menu: the pork broth ramen is pretty good. The Chicken ones are fine and offer exactly what they promise. Now, The next words I am about to type might infuriate some Ramen aficionados and have them reply "TRAITOR" on my review. "Their VEGETARIAN SPICY RAMEN is the one of the best bowls of Ramen I've had in chicago. Not the best vegetarian ramen, the best Ramen, overall." Beware, It's spicy and flavorful enough to make sure your ears tap away to the tunes of Disney's 1941 classic Dumbo and a huge Knob of Garlic that will vaporize the entire box set of the Vampire diaries. PS: Get a couple of extra slices of The Tofu.. Its mildly sweet, cutting right through the spicy broth. So all you vegan/non-vegan couples, or anyone trying to exorcise a bad flu, give this place a try. You will not regret it!!!

Honestly the food here was really great. We had the spicy pork ramen and the pork gyoza. Gyoza comes with a slightly spicy sauce over top, and they were fried perfectly. Ramen was on the spicy side (which is what we wanted), the meat was tender, and the noodles soft. The reason why I give it 3 stars is that upon entering, the place wasn't super busy but it easily took 5-8 minutes for someone to come to us to get us seated. Then when we wanted the pay for the bill, it took another 10 minutes just to get someone's attention.

I walked in on a Thursday evening and sat at the bar. I already knew what I wanted, so I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with thin noodles plus an egg and bean sprouts right after the waiter brought me a cup of cold water. Since I was sitting at the bar, I had a perfect view of the kitchen prepping dishes and setting them on the counter to be delivered to tables. About 10 minutes later, a gentleman walked out with my ramen and presented it to me. The first thing I noticed was the little wooden ladle in my bowl instead of a spoon to get the broth. It was a nice touch, and it definitely presented very well. The broth had a pretty tan color and smelled amazing. I tried the broth first and was pleasantly surprised by the super flavorful broth. It was not oily at all, and definitely was comforting on a cold evening. There was a good amount of noodles, and they had a nice bite. The seasoned egg was cooked perfectly. There was a decent portion of pork, and it was sliced to the perfect thickness and was very good. The ramen was a bit on the pricey side once you started to add toppings. Most of the ramen places I've visited at least include the egg as a standard item, so I was a bit surprised when I discovered it was extra. Overall, I felt it was a good value, though, and a solid bowl of ramen. I will definitely visit again. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because the kitchen counters were a bit messy. Not necessarily concerning, but definitely something that I noticed since I was sitting right in front of them prepping.

I came to Kinton Ramen for lunch and had an overall great experience. The service was great and the food came out really quickly. I got the the ramen and beer special. I got the spicy garlic vegetarian ramen and it was packed with vegetables and flavor. While you are waiting for you food the waiter lets you play this this game where you roll the dice and get a different cupon. I got 25% off my next order. The beer abs ramen was pretty good I will be going back.

Service is pretty good most times. Waiters are usually attentive and very kind. Ordering is easy. Not a ton of options but happy hour always bring discounts. The big beer is a great option for the cost. The martinis aren't bad. I wanted to try the immune booster ramen... not too different from most of my ramen choices normally. However I added the jalapeno paste which gave everything a great kick. The garlic flavored the broth because their broth is more on the blander side. Overall, okay spot to go but I don't go as often as when they first opened. Good music and nice ambiance setting to enjoy but don't expect to be comfortable in their seats. Patio option is better when its warm out.

Ramen option in West Loop. Wanted to try KINTON Ramen since I've tried most of the other ramen shops in West Loop. I'd personally pass on KINTON next time! $15.99 for the Pork Original Ramen. In my opinion, it was not worth it. I prefer ramen with some more toppings. This only had an egg, pork, and green onions. Although I do want to mention that the egg was boiled to perfection and was probably my favorite part of the bowl. Noodles and broth were good, but I've had better. Regardless, service was fast and our waiter was nice. They have a coat rack by the entrance since some seats are too low to hang your coats/jackets. They also have mouth wash in the bathroom which was nice! Overall, the ramen was good, but I'll probably spend my money elsewhere next time!

Very welcoming and loved the casual but classy atmosphere. Ordered spicy vegetarian noodle with extra seasoned egg. Soup was rich with full garlicky flavor. Veggies included bamboo shoots and wood ear mushrooms which never had before but surprisingly tasty. You choose thin and thick noodles and I opted for thick. Texture was just chewy for slurping. Added takoyaki and definitely added more flavor to my ramen meal.

The spicy beef garlic ramen is on fire It's a special, definitely warms you up during these chilly days Portions are plenty, be sure to try the karaage. Went with the original flavor instead of hot because our ramen was spicy! Nice ambiance, seated promptly on a weekday

For me personally, ramen is never a go-to meal option. It may have to do with the limited vegetarian options I've had that are often bland and disappointing. Kinton Ramen was definitely an exception! My SIL and brother were visiting for the day, and they were a bit overwhelmed by the hecticness of Time Out Market and the general Fulton Market area. We found this place just walking by it, and they both love ramen so this was the first place we'd come across that they were actually excited to go to. It wasn't busy, and they felt much more comfortable. We were immediately greeted as we walked in and walked through the menu. Ordering is a little bit complicated, at least if you're still pretty new to ramen like I am. My brother treated us to dinner and ordered the Meal for 2 for the 4 of us to share; this comes with 2 Signature Ramen + 1 Age Gyoza (Pork or Veg) + 2 Pop. There are 4 vegetarian ramen options to choose from, and we went with the Veg Miso. It was so flavorful! We also tried the Tofu Furai and Veg Gyoza - so good! For some reason, I wasn't expecting them to have cocktails, but they actually had a really appealing cocktail list. Our group ended up trying every single drink on there! My husband ended the meal with a slice of Kurogoma Cheesecake, which he enjoyed.

Solid- haven't tried too many of the items but they are fast and delicious! I'll be ordering from here again.

Ordered the takeout. Many has mentioned to me that you get a bang for your buck. Granted it is decent deal but is it good? Stay tune *dun,dun,dunnnnnn* (Commericals) The Classic Tonkotstu Ramen. You really can't go wrong! Broth was good but, not sure if it's due to cold weather it was luke warm and it couldn't break my brick cold noods apart. I had to vigorously break it apart to loosen the al dente noods. Which was fine. The pork... I'm sorry. I guess you paid for what you get. It was extremely thin... like somewhat close to hot pot slices of pork!? that's a no no to me. I was hoping to get karage cause in other reviews mention that in this combo you can choose 2 piece of their karage...andddd of course it didn't! The dumplings weren't anything to write home about. Just your typical veggies deep fried in noods. Due to it being somewhat cold it kind of became rubber with a bit of crunch. Do I dare say the edamame was the star of the show? Dipping it like fries on the honey mustard just made me wished I had a bowl of that instead! The black sesame Cheesecake... I mean I see the color! But... the sesame was no where to be found. I'm guessing it's instant cause usually it's pretty bland. Tasted like a cheesecake though so that's a star! Overall, if you want a combo pack for cheap.. sure. Are you gonna get quality? Eh.... Not really.

Kinton ramen is a great idea for anyone craving ramen in West Loop. Tucked in on a side street off Randolph, this delicious Ramen shop offers a variety of Ramen styles all to the highest quality. For an affordable price you get a massive bowl of delicious hot and salty Ramen with perfectly springy noodles. While Ramen is perfect for some of the cooler months of the year, Kinton still offers fantastic options for the summer time. Their tsukemen was fantastic! Those same delicious noodles are now served alongside a savory cold sauce that clings to your noodles as you dunk them before slurping them down. Infused with scallion and sesame, their flavors are out of this world and will cool you off on a hot summer day. Kinton is certainly an all weather destination

Tried the beef ramen as that's relatively rare and was pleasantly surprised! The broth wasn't super salty like traditional pork-based ramen, it almost had a sweetness to it, and was equally rich and satisfying. The brisket was tender although slightly bland. I have to declare kinton makes hands-down the best soft-boiled egg in the city! Silky yolk yet full of flavor. Dunno how they do it but keep it forever! This egg I'd gladly pay the $2 up charge!

I made the mistake of getting the Kinton Red. For some reason, it's only $10 when every other dish on the menu is $2-3 more expensive. It is freaking SPICY. I can handle spice fairly well, so I did finish it. It was a little too spicy for my enjoyment, though. I couldn't finish all the soup. And the spice definitely got in the way of my enjoyment of the other flavors. I regret my decision very much. Still, I was able to make out some vague flavors other than the spice, and those did taste pretty good. Good meat and broth. Noodles were okay. Service was very good - they filled our water frequently. $10 is some pretty good value for West Loop... but never again. Next time I'll stick with their original.

In searching for a good ramen spot I came across Kinton Ramen and let me tell u it was just what I was looking for. The broth, the noodles, the flavor, everything was just perfect. The spicy ramen is delicious and a must try. We also tried their cocktails which I really enjoyed. I think I found my go to ramen spot.

I've been to my fair share of ramen places and this one is definitely better for beginners. The ramen doesn't come with much in it and I prefer more dynamic flavors. The miso chicken was okay, I added a few toppings to make it my own and I wasn't a fan of their hot chicken karage appetizer. Chicken was way too big and lacking spice. Not a bad spot though, overall if you're new to ramen or nervous to try it, start here with the basics!

The ramen is ok, I'd like to give 3.5 but they don't have it. You can order different kind of noodle style from thin to thick. I personally like the thick's chewy style with jalapeño soup. Taste fresh and little bit spicy.

Meh i got the Original Pork Ramen with wavy noodles and my husband got the Burnt Shoyo Ramen. I didnt really like the broth at all. It tasted very plain and all they added was a bunch of white and black pepper. Pretty disappointed with the food. The gyozas were okay...it wasnt really traditional. They were fried with spicy mayo on it.

My favorite no reservation ramen place!!! Kinton is so great. It's really affordable, provides a great service and it's absolutely no frills. It is not the best ramen I've ever had but it is absolutely satisfying. Yes it could be better if there was more meat or if the egg came with ramen. BUT the service is great, the portions are generous, and the broth is REALLY GOOD. (& I love the specials!)

We ordered through Uber eats and everything was nicely packaged and secured so nothing would spill. This is not our usual ramen place we go to but my boyfriend and I decided to try a new ramen place. After scrolling through various ramen places, we thought Kinton had the most vast menu. We got edamame and two spicy vegetarian ramen which had - chili pepper - fried bean curd - bamboo shoots - mushrooms - corn - ginger oil - onion - grated garlic - scallions We added hard boiled eggs and jalapeño paste to ours. The ramen was tasty but definitely had a different texture of the noodles that we normally get. The broth wasn't as complex and average compared to other ramen places in the city. I did enjoy the spice level of the ramen. Overall the delivery and how everything was packaged was great.

Pretty good Ramen spot near my work.I've been stopping in lately on the weekends just before the dinner rush.So far haven't had any issues being seated.Not sure how busy they get during dinner time.But during the off hours getting seated has been a breeze.I always get the ramen and beer special which is about $23.Works for me!!! Staff is always nice and very accomodating.Will continue to stop in before work on weekends to cure my hangover.LOL

Don't let the 3 stars fool you. I loved kinton! But it was just jot my favorite compared to other ramen spots. I came in for dinner it was not packed which was nice. they have a new concept where you order up front and they give you a number and bring it to a table. I did their 3 for 16.99 where I got a ramen. Some fried chicken thigh app and a matcha cheesecake. I went with the jalapeño chicken ramen and it was a bit bland for my taste. I asked for something spicy that I can add into it. My boyfriend got the tonkotsu and he really enjoyed it. I nibbled on it and thought it was very good as well. Like I said it was good ramen just jot my absolute favorite. Before I forget the staff was phenomenal as well. Super friendly!

Solid, good ramen - my favorite in Chicago! We have been here a few times, most recently I ordered the vegetarian miso ramen (with an egg added) and was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor. The appetizers are good as well, we had the takoyaki and chicken karaage (both are 4-piece orders, so for a larger party you might need multiple orders). However the service and happy hour deals bump it up to 5 stars in my mind. I've had better ramen elsewhere (outside of Chicago), but these details make the experience at Kinton great. The servers are very prompt, friendly, and efficient, the food comes out fast, and I've never seen it too busy here. The happy hour is 5-7 with $5 apps and some $6 cocktails! There are also a few outdoor tables - would be perfect for a casual patio happy hour on a nice day.

This was one of the worst ramens I have had and extremely overpriced. There's too many great ramen places in west loop to waste your time and money here. Was very disappointed

This place was okay. On Saturday evening the place was packed inside. They don't take reservations, and you order at the counter and pay right before you are seated. The place was busy but we only waited about 15 minutes to order and be seated outside. The quality of the ramen was average. I had the veggie shoyu ramen. I loved that it had a ton of corn because I often find in ramen restaurants that they only put a spoonful or two of corn. But the corn ratio was spectacular. However the reason I rate this with 3 stars is that the actual temperature of the broth was lukewarm which was disappointing on a cold evening. I also paid $2 extra to add a seasoned soft boiled egg, and when I bit into it, it was ice cold! Why!! My sister ordered the same thing and it was also the same temperature and the egg was also cold. I had high hopes for this place but it did not meet expectations. Maybe it was an off night.

What a great find! This ramen restaurant has some very flavorful options. I opted for the chicken jalapeño ramen on this visit and I was highly satisfied with the quality of the chicken, the freshness of the vegetable ingredients and the burst of flavor in the broth. Must try if your in the area! Went there a second time in less than a week. We got the Chicken Miso and the Chicaken Shoyu for dine in and it was fantastic as well! We'll be back fro more.
