Kirby Ice House’s New Outpost in Houston’s Heights Will Now Hold the Record for the Longest Bar in Texas | Eater Houston
"The forthcoming Heights outpost will claim the longest bar in Texas at 146 feet, surpassing the chain’s The Woodlands location by five feet and its Memorial bar by roughly 20 feet. Situated on four acres, the venue pairs about 12,000 square feet of indoor space—with roughly 20% more seating than the Memorial site—with an additional 12,000 square feet of outdoor area, providing ample room for lively, booze-fueled activities. An indoor-outdoor bar will offer signature cocktails, wine and more than 50 beers on tap, supported by elevated service, outdoor TVs, a high-quality audio system and a rotating lineup of food trucks on the back patio." - Brittany Britto Garley
We came for opening college game day. It was packed! For a first weekend and massive crowds they did an amazing job! It was super hot so the water station was appreciated (maybe a few more are needed with such a large space). Also, the heat was stifling, I bet as they get settled more fans on the edges will be added to help with circulation.
But those are all minor points to the exceptional service.
Our server was a CHAMP! Cinthya was on her A game. We had a large group and she not only kept up but brought waters and even took care of the dogs.
What a great addition to the Heights!

Kirby Ice House never misses, and the new Heights location is no exception. They’ve perfected the recipe for a modern, upscale ice house — the kind of place where you can catch an Astros game with your buddies and host a company happy hour all in the same afternoon. The atmosphere is always on point, the drinks are cold, and the staff is as gorgeous as they are welcoming. But one stands above the rest — Lana. She’s the heartbeat of the place and makes every visit unforgettable.

5 Stars!
Kirby Ice House is the ultimate spot to watch a game! There are TVs everywhere, so you never miss a play, no matter where you sit. The drink selection is massive—tons of beers on tap, cocktails, and plenty of options for everyone. Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, and always a good time. Highly recommend!

Like all Kirby locations, this place is impressive. Huge beer selection, both bottled and on tap. Great daily specials too! The staff is always friendly and on top of their game.

Our experience at the new kirby ice house in the heights was wonderful, the place is huge and the energy was great! We instantly recognized our server Makenzie, who has waited on us at the Kirby gessner location multiple times, and we were so thrilled that she is at the heights now! Our drinks always came quick and were never low, extremely impressed with the service considering how packed it was for the opening weekend!! We will definitely be recommending the new kirby ice house to others!

Not even opening day specials, much less swag. Overall footprint is smaller than the one on Gessner and I-10. For a grand opening, we expected at least to differentiate from the other Kirby Ice Houses. We're done. We're going to the one on Gessner. Same great service (and same price!), without the crowd and noise.
Addendum: They advertise ample parking. Nope. We still had to park at the Lowes parking lot. Street parking all full too. Every single spot taken and they tow if you park at that parking garage. Houston's vultures are going to have a field day here. Service is nice at least, just management could have done better on grand opening day as well as marketing. Felt like marketing dropped the ball big time on this one.

Service was awesome!! But too pricey from our experience. Also the Lupe Tortilla food truck was TOO EXPENSIVE for the sad amount of food with the quality at just standard at best. Had high hope for this place but considering the cost of everything nowadays, one has to think twice to frequent this spot...

Makenzie was amazing. Went for the UT game and it was packed yet she still made sure to keep checking on us, with minimal time between empty drinks. The best service!

Yelp
Wow this place is huge and crowded! Apparently crowned the *longest bar in Texas* at 146 feet long, you will be walking for a while to find a bar seat! One of my friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm for Sunday football and Sunday funday and it was so full that we could barely find a parking spot in the large front/side parking lot but luckily someone was just pulling out at just the right time. Inside there's 146 feet of bar seating as well as many, many tables as well as outdoor tables. Screens are all around for all sports watching interests. The bar has all of the standard well options as well as many, many beer taps. They do also offer several daily specials so be sure to check with the bartender on any promotions for the day. For food, there are rotating food trucks but be prepared to wait for a little bit during busy days. One of my friends ordered a pizza from the food truck which looked amazing but took about 30 minutes to come out.
Kirby Ice House is honestly a great spot to gather with friends and watch a game but something about their franchise just isn't my favorite. It just feels impersonal and profit-driven. Regardless, the space is impressive. Check it out and decide for yourself.

Yelp
Compared to the other Kirby Ice Houses, it seems a little smaller, or at least feels smaller because there isn't a yard per se, just a large covered area which is nice but it feels kind of claustrophobic when there is a large crowd. This becomes a problem when there is only one bathroom and it's all the way on the other end in the indoor section because the narrow corridors for walking get clogged up when large crowds of people are trying to get to one end and then have to resort to walking in between the seats where people are watching the game.
Granted, this may not be an issue 6/7 days of the week but I came here on a night where apparently there was a watch party for the A&M /ND game and it was elbow to elbow and anytime there was a break in the game, there would be a wave of people from the outdoor section trying to go to the bathroom all the way to the other end while the ones who just used the bathroom were trying to get back to the other side and it was just making the whole experience chaotic and really hard to even order a drink without getting caught up in the traffic.
I'm sure they'll work out some of these kinks but I really think they need to build a second set of bathrooms on the other side of the bar to fix it.

Yelp
Stopped in to the brand new Kirby in the Heights this evening. It did not disappoint. Decent amount of parking. Daily specials. Sooo much seating along with a Texas size bar.
Honestly plenty of inside and outside seating. Loved that they had giant fans outside too. Plenty of screens to watch all the sports. So many staff to get drinks along with taking away the empties. The bathrooms were clean and plenty of stalls. Asked my hubby about the men's.
The Kirby Fresca was a nice different touch versus other typical choices.

Yelp
Ok--stopped on Day 1 - Grand Opening. The place is big with lots of space at the bar and tables in and outside. Great beer selection. Rotating food trucks. Staff was a bit indifferent but again it was day 1. Will definitely be back......

Yelp
My friend was ready to go home and was a little intoxicated but holding it together acting normal, the manager came up and said she had to leave that she was disturbing others when she was sitting with us and not doing anything. He made her go outside by herself did not check of anyone was getting her home.
