Google
Kiro Sushi delivered an excellent dining experience. The quality of the fish was outstanding — incredibly fresh, clean, and beautifully handled. The premium sashimi platter was generous and visually stunning, with each cut showing precision and great texture. The Ōtoro sashimi was the highlight: rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth, finished with thoughtful garnishes that enhanced rather than distracted. The tartar salmon dish was also well-balanced, combining freshness, acidity, and a touch of sweetness in a way that kept every bite interesting. Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can truly enjoy the food. The space is cozy and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a high-quality sushi night. Overall, a great experience for anyone looking for fresh, well-prepared sashimi and a comfortable dining environment. Highly recommended.

Google
Kiro Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots around! The fish is always super fresh, beautifully presented, and you can tell they put a lot of care into every dish. The rolls are creative without being over the top, and the classic nigiri just melts in your mouth. Service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy but modern—perfect for both a casual dinner or a special night out. Prices are fair for the quality you get. Highly recommend the Edamame —you won’t regret it!

Quite “hyped” on some social media, gave it a try today, it’s ok, ordered the tuna tataki, not super high quality and freshness but still enjoyable, then their “hyped” don series, i just ordered a simple sashimi don, and i asked in advance to swap out some fish that i don’t like, the combination of the fish served today is good, among them i really like the small cattle fish roll, the other fishs are also ok, the shrimp was not super fresh but still ok, the scallop however was too stale. Overall still ok, think will still revisit in future

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times, and I actually really like their sushi&sashimi — the food has always been delicious. However, the service and overall experience have been disappointing, especially during my visit today. No one ever came to check on us, refill our water, or offer plates when our sushi and sashimi arrived. We had to ask for everything ourselves, even though staff kept walking past us without saying a word. What really bothered me was the cleanliness. I saw a big insect crawling on the wall, and there were noticeable spider webs on the ceiling. It just made the whole dining experience feel unpleasant. It’s a shame because I genuinely enjoy their food, but the service and cleanliness need serious improvement.

Google
Exceptional experience at Kori Sushi in Toronto! I recently ordered the Las Vegas and Volcano rolls, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced. Highly recommend Kori Sushi for sushi lovers - can't wait to go back! Alina 💕

Google
Absolutely awful experience — twice. I came here with friends on two separate occasions hoping to enjoy their “famous” seafood don, and both times left angry, disappointed, and honestly disgusted. The service is negligent, the food is mediocre for the high prices, the wait times are ridiculous, and worst of all, there are serious food safety concerns (spoiled uni, fish scales). This is not just a bad restaurant — it’s a place I would actively warn people to avoid. Service: Both visits started the same way: sitting at the table for 10–15 minutes with no greeting, no water, no acknowledgment. When water finally came, it was two glasses for four people — and every other basic item (chopsticks, soy sauce dishes, napkins) had to be asked for repeatedly, then still forgotten. It felt like the staff couldn’t care less whether we were served properly. Food quality: On the first visit, we discovered after waiting 15 minutes with no water, that they had run out of both uni and toro — the main ingredients people come for, which take up nearly two full pages of their menu. Instead of telling customers right away, they only admitted it once we finally tried to order. Frustrated, we walked out. On the second visit (our “second chance” to the restaurant), the food we did get was simply not worth the price: mediocre, and in some cases unsafe. Food safety & staff attitude: The uni in my deluxe uni don was spoiled — bitter, smelly, obviously off. I raised this politely, and the response was dismissive and arrogant. One server brushed me off with a smile and never returned; another claimed the chef said it was “fine” because no one else complained. That is not how food safety works. When I insisted, the server rolled her eyes, sighed, and eventually replaced just three newpieces of uni with no apology — as though I was lying to get free food. Meanwhile, my friend found fish scales in her toro don. At that point, we gave up complaining — because clearly, this restaurant doesn’t care. Bottom line: Two chances, both disasters. Terrible service, long waits, mediocre overpriced food, spoiled seafood, dismissive staff. I would never go back here and would not recommend this place to anyone — except maybe people I truly dislike.

Google
The quality of the fish here is honestly amazing, super fresh and really delicious, definitely worth the price. You can really taste how good it is, some of the best I’ve had in Toronto. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that one dish came out wrong. When I mentioned it to the server, she took it back but looked really scary and said she had confirmed with me earlier. I think I misunderstood because toro and chop-up sound kind of similar, and I have moderate hearing loss in one ear. I had actually pointed to the item on the menu when ordering, but I guess there was still some confusion. It made me a little nervous at the table, so I didn’t relax and enjoy the fish as much as I wanted to in that moment. But again, the fish itself was incredibly fresh and tasty. I’ll definitely be coming back

Google
If you look for high end service, this might not be the place that suits your needs. HOWEVER, the quality of the food considering the reasonable price in downtown core area, they won’t disappoint you!!!! Highly recommend the aburi set.

Yelp
I can see why patrons are drawn to the restaurant. It's a cozy place that seems more at home in a suburb than amongst the Yorkville set. Their menu's extensive and prices are very reasonable, especially given its location. Five large prawns arrive with the shrimp tempura ($12), freshly fried so it's wonderfully hot and crispy. While it could have benefited from being drained a bit longer and the dipping sauce less watered down, it's a great way to get the meal started shared amongst a table. I was astounded by the size of the hamachi kama ($9) given the bargain price point. Sadly, you get what you pay for as the generally tender fish jowl was overcooked leaving the dish too dry and a bit chewy. Always go with a restaurant's namesake menu item as the Kiro roll ($15) was my favourite bite that evening. The rice was pressed to a cardboard thinness, the California roll base (imitation crab, avocado, and cucumber) topped with salmon, scallop, and tobiko before having a light torching. Try as I might, I could not get the entire bite into my mouth in one go. There was a great number of toppings and the julienned cucumbers so crispy and fresh that it brightened up the entire maki. If only the spicy mayo had some heat, this would have been perfect. If you're not a fan of oily aburi, you'll love Kiro's ebi pressed sushi ($16). The shrimp topping didn't have an ounce of mayo instead relying on tobiko, scallions, and furikaki (a rice topper) to give it texture and flavour. Of course, that dryness doesn't lend itself to capturing that smokiness and caramelized colour you'd expect from a torched sushi but does create a lighter bite.

Yelp
Was heading to a concert and decided to try Kiro Sushi since it was nearby. I tried the Spicy Salmon Dragon roll, Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll, Kiro roll and Salmon Fusion roll. All were really good and tasty! You can see that the staff took their time with making the rolls and they were presented so nicely! The rolls were decently priced as well! The ambiance was nice and cozy and filled up quickly! The only downside was that we had to wait a long time to get staff for the bill. In the end, since we were running late for our concert, we decided to go up to the counter and pay there. Otherwise, would recommend for people who like sushi and want to try a variety of different rolls!

Yelp
My colleague and I were dying for some good Asian food after a week long of Italian and steak houses. We shared the UDON SOUP TEMPURA and an assortment of SASHIMI. Super fresh fish, servers were quite nice and attentive, and we left almost having to be rolled out. ENJOY!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a few times for takeout and love coming here. There are big pieces of fish in the sushi, and it's always fresh. Even the tempura is always crisp, not soggy. Love Kiro!

Yelp
I came for lunch with some friends, as one highly recommended this spot. We were quite hungry coming in, and left full and happy :) I got the Roll Set #1 with Dynamite and Spicy Tuna rolls, both of which were fresh, tasty, and quite filling! Miso soup and salad were provided on the side as well. Although there was only one waitress, the service was very efficient. Overall, this is a solid spot for sushi in the city. I'm excited to come again!

Yelp
one of our favourite places for sushi in downtown with its affordable sashimi sets. there were a lot of different varieties in sashimi and it was all very fresh!
google avatar

Yelp
Very disappointed in Kiro. First of all have to say I ordered with Uber so maybe things would be a little better at the restaurant but I doubt by much. The presentation was extremely messy sushi pieces in oversized packages and moved around and rolled around. The amount of rice provided in the sushi was the least I have ever experienced with sushi. Rice is the cheapest ingredient so surprised they would be so stingy on it. Lastly the sushi tastes a little weird, not fresh, and I just hope I don't get sick from this dinner

Yelp
Kiro Sushi, located at the back of the Toronto Reference Library, serves amazing quality sushi and sashimi. Our fav is their takeout platter. The sushi chef plate it so nice on their circular tray, and it's ready to serve at our dinner table. Bonus: Take-out cash order is 10% off.

Yelp
A bit of a hidden gem in this area! Located right next to the Toronto Reference Library, this small, unassuming restaurant has a mellow, sedate vibe with comfortable private booths - perfect for a relaxed evening. The menu is quite extensive, but we decided on the sashimi don and zaru soba. Both came in beautiful, delicate bowls - the stunning presentation was better than shown in the menu pictures! The sashimi was extraordinarily fresh, especially the amaebi (sweet shrimp) - I almost moaned as it went down my throat. The other thick slices of fish were delectable as well, and the sushi rice was well cooked to great texture and just lightly seasoned. The soba was also enjoyable, paired with a subtle dipping sauce and crispy, savoury tempura. As expected, service was excellent and our waitress was kind and warm - the lovely Japanese hospitality we recognize. Menus, tea, and food all arrived promptly, but we were never hurried. Although prices are slightly high, it's quite reasonable for the area and is assuredly compensated by the superb quality of the meal. I will have this place earmarked for future visits!

Yelp
Decor: Small restaurant with four booths alone th side wall & some 4 seater tables. Wooden tables, fabric covered seats in the booths. Modern light fixtures. Food: Delicious Japanese food! Some rolls unique to here that I haven't seen elsewhere. For appetizers we had the beef short ribs & chicken karage. I had the pink lady & salmon Aburi dragon. So yummy & presentation was top notch. Clean, minimal & the food is the star. Hubby had the yam & avocado roll which was bigger in size than I'd anticipated. I couldn't finish my rolls so I boxed them up to go. For dessert they only have ice cream (3 flavours) or cheesecake (2 flavours). We had the black sesame ice cream. Again, quality was great & the ice cream was scrumptious. Service: When we came in there were only two waitresses. Probably there isn't room for more waitstaff as it's a small place. The restaurant wasn't full but it seemed busy. There were plenty of people picking up their take away orders. Washrooms: This is important. In my opinion if you run a restaurant the washrooms must be clean. I don't care how nice the decor is if the washrooms are dirty. There were 2 stalls in the ladies washroom & it was clean. Hubby said the men's washroom only had one stall & their washroom was clean too.

Yelp
Beware!!!!! I had severe food poisoning where I was extremely sick for 3 to 4 days. had the chicken teriyaki which put me in severe stomach pain, the shakes and cold jitters spend the whole time in the bathroom throwing up and was Bed written for all this time. Still have stomach issues a week later. Btw should have known when I first walked in and sushi smelled really fishy! That should not be the case if it's fresh! Worst experience ever!

Yelp
The best original Japanese food you will get in downtown Toronto without being ripped off. Amazing Udon soup with massive amounts of shrimp tempura for 16$ Sushi and rolls are so fresh Miso cod was one of the best I've tasted Very undervalued for the amazing food and service. And 10% off just ask the server My new favorite yorkville restaurant Not pretentious

Yelp
2.5/5. I am an avid sushi eater and I always enjoy trying new sushi places. I saw that this place had high ratings so I ordered off ubereats. by the time this order arrived I was starving. It came with miso soup and salad- it was ok nothing special. I was honestly let down. I ordered roll combo C- red dragon roll and spicy salmon. The fillings to rice ratio is good. But that was the only thing that was good. The rolls were greasy and the fish was not fresh. My stomach felt queasy and I just did not enjoy any of the sushi. I was immensely let down as this place isn't cheap either. :(

Yelp
CHEAP ON SOY SAUCE AND RUDE This is for the Kiro Sushi location at 4 Collier Street in Yorkville, Toronto. Food is good, but I never enjoy a meal with a side dish of attitude and cheapness. I live across the street from the Collier location in Yorkville and order often and go in to pick up. They never remember you, but fine, I can live with that. Every time I order, they stiff me with almost no soy sauce. I am not sure how I am supposed to enjoy a sushi meal with no soy sauce. On top of that, when I went in to let them know that they gave so little soy sauce for my large combo (Combo C), they told me to pay and when I refused, they said "ok, just this time!" That's right because if you're so cheap that you can't provide enough soy sauce to enjoy a proper meal, I'm not coming back. They didn't even take into account that a customer went home, and later came back to deal with an issue. If my customers had that experience, I would apologize and let them know I would take their concern to heart (at least if I cared about my business). You are busy, I'm sure you don't care but I only support business that treat customers with respect. If I wanted to be ripped off for dinner, I would have gone to Loblaws. Bad service, nothing gets a bad review like cheap service and attitude. You can keep you soy sauce, please! I'll keep my wads of cash.

Yelp
While the prices have gone up since my first review, less than a year ago, the food tastes very good and the quality has remained consistent. Consistently good! While working in the neighbourhood, Kiro Sushi has been one of my favourite lunch spots. I've tried many places in the area and this represents one of the best values and the food is very tasty and plentiful. I had the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box, also the first meal I had here. It's served with rice, Japchae (noodles), Gyoza (dumplings), California Roll, Miso Soup, and Salad. That's still a lot of bang for the buck! As with every meal I've had here, it tasted pretty darn good and was very filling. I've also enjoyed the chicken katsu, pork katsu, and the beef short ribs. Sadly, with my office closing down shortly, this may be my last meal here. If you work or live nearby, drop in for lunch!

Yelp
This was an impromptu visit to this spot for takeout. I usually stick to another option nearby however decided to try them out. This was a takeout order for an early dinner. I went with combo roll B which consists of Dynamite roll and spicy salmon. It includes a side of salad and miso. Miso was weak as expected (why oh why can no place get miso rightin TO!) the salad was a mundane offering however the dressing was actually decent. On to the main the rolls were a tad above the grocery store/inexpensive sushi spot offerings. They apparently of a more reasonable set for lunch as well. 2.5 stars for now.

Yelp
We came here for lunch, and had a great meal. The restaurant has comfortable, nice seats, and has an intimate atmosphere. Our server was friendly, and our food came pretty quickly. We ordered the chicken bento lunch special for $12.95, and the sushi set D lunch special for $16.95, which included 1 roll and 8 pieces of assorted nigiri. The fish was all of very high quality, and they don't give you too much rice on the sushi like other places do. This is now my favourite sushi place - we're definitely planning on coming back to Kiro! Lunch specials are available from 11:30am to 4pm here, and you also get 13% off if you pay for take-out with cash.
google avatar

Signe L.

Yelp
It was great to find many GF vegan choices that weren't deep fried! I ordered avocado maki, asparagus maki and squash and asparagus rolls. Usually places deep fry the squash but this was steamed and non greasy. Wonderful. Good presentation, good price, good quality. The only thing they can add is a brown rice option.

Yelp
Oh Kiro...Kiro, Kiro, Kiro... little did you know, that a lil blu gummy entered your establishment last night positively GIDDY with excitement for sushi little did you know that he had been planning the sushi trip all week ALMOST literally counting the days... he finished his blu gummy work late, and scoured a digital map to locate the closest vendor to sell a high quality raw fish, while also providing a calming setting to sit and enjoy the meal while the stress of that blu gummy's week slide off his gelatin shoulders to splash on the floor (he'd clean that up later of course) But he arrived at 9:40 PM seeing from Google and Yelp that you were open til 10:30 PM on weekdays And it was beautiful! Oh just look, blu gummy thought. The art was intriguing and the lighting was calming... it felt modern and swanky, like a gallery but it was also authentic and culturally vibrant but, Kiro? what did you do then? "we're closing", you said Tears all but built up in that blu gummy's eyes "b-b-but..." he stammered, "online it says you're open til 10:30 PM. It's 9;40PM." Kiro: online is wrong. blu gummy made another pitiful protest, unable to accept that his sushi dreams were to be crushed with such indifference how could life we this cruel???? And finally, Kiro, you offered us takeout Blu Gummy was still crushed at the notion of not fulfilling his dream of dining in-house with you, especially seeing as he couldn't make it to any of the OTHER sushi restaurants anymore seeing as it was too late... so he accepted and took the sushi home that's okay, BG thought Life is what happens when you're making other plans just like Mr. Lennon said - The Walrus Gummy himself so lil BG changed his vibe, got home with his to-go sushi, and set down to eat but that's when the little blu gummy's blue heart was truly torn from his chest the rolls were made so poorly that even a chopstick ninja such as himself couldn't even lift one from the takeout box to a lil gummy mouth they had no integrity they would crumble into their constituent parts at the slightest touch it was like trying to lift a sandcastle off the beach with your hands but still... with his heart strewn across the Toronto condo balcony, blu gummy pressed on he changed his vibe again: it's good tho, he thought it tastes good. it's good quality fish he pressed on and enjoyed each roll as they crumbled between his chopsticks like civilizations under the relentless pressure of time and he finished. and smiled. satisfied, despite the bad vibes ... but then the sharp pain began, just below the gaping fissure in his gelatin chest, in his lil BG tum tum sharp stabbing pains he sighed deeply and looked up at the Ontario night sky "sorry, Kiro," he said in despair. "but i've got to let the TO blugummyites know the truth..." he got on his phone, opened Yelp, and started typing... - Blu Gummy gives this establishment a 2 Blu Gummies our of 11 Blu Gummies.

Yelp
Great sushi and very fresh. The renovations are really nice. It's a great place for after work or after shows. The pandemic has let this place survive and it is well situated for the future. There are a lot of other sushi places but this one is really nice!
google avatar

Nathalie M.

Yelp
Very good and fresh sushi. We ordered in and it was nicely presented. When we came for pick up, it was really busy. Staff is friendly. Service is good. One time, we came in almost when they were about to close but they let us know when to order by and we comfortably finished our meal without being rushed out. Their kiro roll is delicious. I love the smoky flavor. Their aburi sushi is very tasty too. I definitely recommend this place!

Emma Z.

Yelp
Food is nice, but service is not. We waited for an hour to get sushi and sashimi, and apparently the waitress forgot our order. Pink lady roll is a hidden gem!
google avatar

Andrei A.

Yelp
At first, I was skeptical of this place but once I tried their maki, all skepticism disappeared. I cannot speak on the authenticity of their dishes, for I've never been to Japan, but their maki and sushi were excellent. Very good value for the money. Good portions. Good quality ingredients. Fair prices. Overall, I was extremely happy with my takeout and I'll be ordering more in the future via Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes.

Yelp
** Takeout Order ** Decided to order some Kiro Sushi based on recommendations from my boyfriend who said that the restaurant had some very great sushi and sashimi here. We ordered the sashimi dinner set and the spicy salmon roll along with some rice. We actually got a massive portion for the sashimi and the sushi rolls. Food was delicious and would recommend the dishes we got. The restaurant also gave us a salad and soup (think it came with the sashimi). You get a discount if you takeout and pay in cash so we ended up paying $30 for a pretty filling dinner. Overall if you are in the area definitely give Kiro Sushi a try.
google avatar

Chantal Y.

Yelp
Ordered from them VIA UberEats and was really happy With the quality of the sushi and sashimi. They have a good presentation for the food and also really great quality fish. My favourite items for sashimi is the Ika, Sweet Shrimp Amaebi, and Hotate. Their items came fresh and delivered quickly. Unlike a lot of other selections for sushi delivery, Kiro is one of the better ones as they are priced well, offer a wide variety of fish; that are not just limited to your usual salmon or tuna and higher quality. 10 out of 10 for a good service and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place for your sushi fix. I would probably order here 1-3x a week for Sashimi.
google avatar

Evonne O.

Yelp
I wish I could give a review for a review Kiro received. That was absolutely cringe. (Blue Gummy) This sushi place is amazing, consistent and authentic. Blue Gummy have a 2 star review because it was closed earlier than Google had advertised. And that should be understandable given our circumstances right now. Wheoever this Blue Gummy Bear reviewer is clewrly has no life as he creates dramatic dialogues of his life in the form of a review. No one cares dude lol

Rachel P.

Yelp
I've dined here twice since my last review and I'm sad to say that this spot is not what it used to be. The service is horrendous. There is typically one waiter for 3 tables that never comes back to fill up your water or to see if you'd like to order more food. For this reason, we don't order more food and we take our business elsewhere. The quality of the sushi has also gone down in my opinion. The spicy salmon roll was super dry and the kiro roll would fall apart when I picked it up. However, I was very happy with my salmon sashimi and miso soup. With so many great sushi spots in Toronto, I likely won't be back.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
We had Sushi & Sashimi Lunch combo (Bbq Eel & Avocado Roll), Pink Lady Roll, Yellow Tail Sushi & Aburi Rainbow Roll. Restaurant was quiet, clean & decor is nicer than most Asian Yorkville Restaurants
google avatar

Carol X.

Yelp
This is one of the most disappointing restaurants ever. I ordered Teriyaki salmon dinner with an expectation of having a set with dumplings and a box. However, their menu didn't specify what's in the teriyaki dinner at all. At the end, all I received is several pieces of super dried salmon over veggies. There is no rice, no dumpling, nothing. The salmon is over cooked and super dark and dry, honestly it is disgusting. Will never go back again even though I live close by. Don't recommend anyone to go. Japanese food is usually my fav and they ruin it.

Yelp
What to say about Kiro Sushi ? Must say, definitely a fan of the food ! Having tried eating in for lunch and ordering take out for dinner, both experiences were quite positive. During the lunch hours, they're pretty busy so service was a bit lacking. It was hard to get the waitress' attention for some addition tea. Takeout was called in advance and the person on the phone was very accommodating and patient. Made an order for six Now for the food...the presentation was on point. The attention to detail was spectacular, it was a piece of edible art on a plate. Even the takeout was presented neatly, definitely did not cut corners just because it was in a plastic container. Prices were also very reasonable for what is served. There's a 10% discount for takeout, bonus ! Overall, will be eating more from here. As a sushi lover, this place is approved ! Definitely put this place on the to try list, if it's not on already.

Fiona L.

Yelp
My friend lives near this place, so we always choose this place. I love it! The fish to sushi ratio is perfect (we like more filling than rice). The portions are so FILLING. We always share as we can not finish a whole bento or sushi & sashimi roll set ourselves. This makes for really good pricing as even for dinner it is much cheaper than another sushi a la carte place or an AYCE place for sure! It is a little hidden away but that makes for perfect customer service as they are very attentive and ready. I would recommend this place if you're in the area, or if you want sushi and wanna try some place new!

Yelp
Mixed reviews about this place. I came around noon for lunch and ordered the regular Sashimi Dinner. No issues with the Miso soup, salad or the taste of the Sashimi. The presentation of the Sashimi was pretty medicore. A few slices of fish were slightly butchered. Despite reading reviews of the excellent service, I unfortunately did not experience the same thing. Our server didn't wait to clear our dishes when we finished but also didn't bother to check up on us for the bill until I chased our server down. While other customers came, got served, paid and left with speedy and attentative service, we were left stranded in a corner of the restaurant unattended to. Not like I had work to get back to or anything .....

Yelp
Unassuming and delicious! This restaurant is tucked away off Yonge and is a little gem! Everything we ordered was fresh and oishi!! Very yummy! The service was very good and the food was a real treat! We started with crispy light tempura and hot miso soup. Then we transitioned to sushi and hand rolls and a couple cut rolls! Everything was as delicious as the last. They even give a 10% discount for paying in cash!

Yelp
YES! Kiro sushi is one of the best sushi places I've found downtown near my office. Quality is consistent and the sushi rolls have a good rice to filling ratio. What locked me in here are the teriyaki ribs. They aren't tough and the fat just melts in your mouth. I'd recommend their lunch or dinner special if you plan on getting them. In the past 7 days, I've eaten there 3 times and am planning a 4th. Love it!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Everything was perfect! I had the korean short ribs bento and my friends had the sushi and sashimi dinner. Everything was nicely plated and fresh, We thought it can def compete with Japango which is another Japanese restaurant we love!

Yelp
Good quality. Good prices. Friendly and good service. Before Covid it had a lot of Japanese going here. Love it!

Yelp
My wife ordered soup (cold day, of course wanted something hot). She did not like it, so I figured I would eat it. Nope. I couldn't eat it either. We also got Tuna sushi rolls. Not bad. Not special. Okay. Surprisingly, they have no packets of sugar of fake sugar (Equal, Splenda, etc.). None. Nowhere. They brought a small plate of sugar for the hot tea. It wasn't enough. Asked for more. Small amount more came back. I didn't bother to ask for more. Just wanted to leave. They almost didn't take the soup off the bill. Service was not great. The waitress we had barely spoke English, so after attempting to explain several times about the sugar, she had to get a coworker (owner/manager?) to talk to us. Getting his attention was difficult as he was busy doing what he normally does. She couldn't help. I am surprised at the numerous 4 star reviews.

Yelp
The sushi here is always amazing. The service is equally great. I never have trouble finding a seat here, and I feel like the chefs take great care in how they prepare their rolls. I'd also highly recommend the gyoza as it's the best in the city in my opinion. It always comes out incredibly crispy and delicious. Everything is very reasonably priced.

Yelp
Update: Stopped in for lunch, they had specials, and cooked foods were really good! Short ribs were tender and not overcooked like most places. Chicken breast teriyaki was tender and flavourful. GREAT VALUE, especially during lunch which is also served during the weekends! Based on the reviews, this was one of the better sushi places in the Bloor/Yonge/Yorkville corridor. Space is new, modern/fusion, and dimly lit, ideal for a date night! As with all of these fusion-y places, there seems to be more of an emphasis on whether or not you want an alcoholic beverage. Anyway, the nigiri/maki combo that we ordered came with a nice assortment of fish - as opposed to salmon, salmon, & more salmon. There was attention paid to plating. Some pieces were even grilled which I enjoyed. All pieces of fish were fresh. This place actually reminded me of Wow (when it was good) and Japango. Since I didn't pay, I can't really comment on price point! ;)

Yelp
Dined in for lunch on a weekend. Food was decent. We ordered lunch bento box and roll set that were substantial. The price was reasonable for the location. Service was not good. There were two waitresses that didn't smile at all and hardly spoke English. When I said thank you for the meal when one of them came settling the bill, she looked away and didn't say anything. I'd give 4 stars for food and 1 star for service. Overall experience was 3 starts.

Yelp
The servers were attentive, and sweet. The presentation and variety was fantastic, I liked all the maki we ordered and would highly recommend the Dragon Roll, Volcano Roll & Dynamite (probably not as traditional but nevertheless every bite was delicious)

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant after the madness of the Raptors parade and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious this place was! The sushi is super fresh. The portions are average compared to the price. We ordered several different plates and we enjoyed every single one! The service is great and the restaurant itself is cute and small.

Yelp
I'm usually very picky with my sushi places and hardly ever agree to try new ones unless a friend pickier than me refers me. However, this place was an exception. It opened a few days ago, right next to my building after two weeks of expedited renovations. We walked in. There were candles on all tables. (Trust me this is nice enough to be mentioned for a sushi place on Yonge.) we started off with Miso soups and edamame and later ordered a rainbow, two green dragons and a tempura. Miso was amazing. It was rich and tasteful. The rolls were big but cut in thin pieces and garnished beautifully. Fish was super fresh. Green dragon came in 12 pieces in a huge boat shaped dish. I always go to AYCE sushi but this place filled me just as much with a slightly higher price but much better quality. Flaws: they still had stickers on their glasswares which I'm sure they'll soon get rid of. They also didn't have a half-litre wine carafe so we had to get glasses. I highly recommend this place. Welcome to the neighbourhood

Yelp
Bigger portions than expected, fresher fish than expected, lower prices than expected! All of these point to a great experience. Honestly, the only reason why they didn't get five stars was because they played Michael Bolton elevator music the entire time. Recommended for meetings, work lunches, families, and date nights (if they don't mind some dated saxophone tunes, that is).

Yelp
I really liked this sushi place! Took awhile to get tea though. I ordered the chicken karaage and sweet tofu and avocado roll. I ate my friends jap chae too from his dinner bento box. Food was prepared well and very good! Looks high end but affordable prices. The dishes they use are very pretty!! I'll come here again when I'm back in Toronto but for lunch.

Yelp
An nice hidden gem in Yonge-Bloor area. Probably one of the best sushi I had at its given price. Very generous for their sashimi size. Service seems a little rush for non-rush hours.

Yelp
My partner and I live a block away and I like to order the platter or tuna lovers set. It was fine the first who times I went, but the second time I picked up sushi from there, I found a bone or two in the sashimi. They also weren't sliced as nicely. Not so cool! This place is usually decent as the fish tastes fresh; maybe they were having an off day. I just put another platter order in on ritual and it's 8:09pm on a Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Yelp
After a wonder around the city, I was hungry and wanted some sushi. I happened to be by the library and found a restaurant with good google and yelp reviews. Oooof it's delicious. The lunch combos are affordable and the maki is amazing. I got the spicy tuna avo and dynamite combo and the dynamite roll was warm and melted in my mouth. Yaaaas please!

Yelp
Great sashimi nigri was just ok... Service was very great and when I asked about some of the fish in the appetizer I was brought over to the chef who was very personable and was happy to answer questions about what I was eating.
