Kirshenbaum Cafe on Elm St. in Westfield is a true gem. I ordered what may be the best chocolate croissant I have ever tasted—and that’s saying a lot after traveling to many countries across four continents. The pastry was perfectly flaky, rich, and indulgent without being overly sweet. Beyond the food, I can see that the café itself is a wonderful place to relax, meet friends, or just enjoy a quiet moment with great coffee and pastries. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff provided genuinely friendly and attentive service. If you’re in NJ, Kirshenbaum Cafe is absolutely worth a visit. Kirshenbaums is a nice bakery/cafe. They offer artisan sandwiches and freshly baked breads, pastries and cookies. One of the better bakeries in the area.

Lovely, cozy small bakery and coffee shop. Good place to get some coffee and baked goods, relax with friends, or find a cozy corner to work on your laptop. Always good to come here!

If I could give a 6/5, I would. Everything was lovely. The workers were so friendly. The coffee was perfect, not too sweet or strong. The food was clearly homemade with care. And the place was immaculate. Wish I had gone here sooner

Delicious cakes. Yummy espresso. So impressed with the Black Forest cake moist, well balanced and incredibly delicious. The passionfruit cruffin is fantastic!! It reminds me of the famous Cronut only better! The filling is bright and creamy. Recently tried their hand pies which are flaky and savory. I got the Taylor ham and cheese which is a spin on a classic NJ breakfast staple. The more I try the more impressed I become. The staff is warm and friendly. Can’t wait to try more of their offerings. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would!

Tasty cake and warm atmosphere :D I visited this place 2 times with my friend. Each time, I really feel impressed of their cakes. Not too sweet but tasty. I think that's why many moms bring their kids to this place :) I like their atmosphere too. I can feel warm and peaceful air. I am not saying their chair is so comfortable so I don't wanna leave this place haha. However this place is quite good to enjoy your tea time. Coffee is okay. I didn't try other beverages so I cannot tell. All the staff is very kind :) Overall, I love this place. Next time, I wanna try other cakes, too.

What a lovely discovery! I went here for coffee and dessert after lunch one day with my family. The interior is pleasant and relaxing, the service was friendly. But by far the best part was the quality of their products. At first I thought it was a bit expensive, but once we started eating, I changed my mind: the price is on point for the quality and craftsmanship you receive. We tried the key lime pie, carrot cake, and passion fruit lemon bar, and everything was amazing. The coffee was also really good!

Love this place. Pastries are great, good breakfast sandwiches, and the cold brew is pretty good as well. Best part of our latest visit: they have awesome cookie flavors but it was 9am so wasn’t going to buy any; manager or owner saw me gawking and gave me two on the house. Liked it before, love it now.

i had the mud pie and omg it was amazing! so creamy and i loved the cookie crust at the bottom. service was friendly as well. plenty of seating in here.

This was a small spot that served a number of different items ranging from donuts to cookies to cakes to pies to much more. The service was patient and friendly as we took some time on what to order. I tried four different offerings. Double Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4.25) - This was a dark chocolate cookie with chocolate chip chunks. This was a good size, but it just fell short for me. I liked the chewy middle and texture, but it just felt like more chocolate could have been tasted as crazy as that sounds. Strawberry Jam Donut ($3.85) - This was a brioche donut filled with their own strawberry jam. The strawberry jam was the lone highlight here. It was great, but the actual donut was not. It was also a little small for the price. I just did not think I liked the brioche type of donut here. It needed to be sweeter, but that jelly, exceptional. Cheesy Jalapeno Croissant ($7) - This was filled with mozzarella cheese, pickled jalapeno peppers, and was topped with an everything seasoning. This was definitely the best product tried of the day. The croissant was flaky and light while the inside had plenty of jalapenos and mozzarella. The jalapenos of this particular one were quite spicy, which was nice. The everything topping was not needed I thought. Gluten Free Strawberry Lemon Cake Slice ($7.25) - This was a lemon vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream. This was a nice sized slice. If I did not know this was gluten free before eating, I do not think I would have been able to tell. Having said that though, the cake slice as a whole was just okay. The cake had good texture, and the buttercream was nicely done, but it just was alright and did not excite me. Maybe, I was missing the gluten! Will I go back? Possibly.

Omg ! This w cute spot located in the center of town . The treats in this place are delicious. I stopped in after walking around town to grab a treat and so glad I did . Although things are a bit pricey it's definitely with a try . Staff were super friendly. You must try the rocky road cookie perfect balance of sweet and salty . Also the strawberry filled donut ( so good ) maybe a slight suggestion to owner add some creamy peanut butter would probably taste amazing . If you are strolling through town definitely pop in and give this place a try . I will be back soon .

Woah! Tried the donuts from here and they taste as amazing as they look! You can tell all the ingredients are fresh and the strawberry jam was amazing!

I love this place. Their salted chocolate chip cookies are amazing. For my birthday, all I wanted was a slice of their Black Forest cake. It was worth it. The staff is always very friendly. Great spot to have right in downtown Westfield. And as a bonus the owner is a huge Philadelphia eagles fan.

I love Kirshenbaum! Their employees are very nice and seem like they love their jobs. I've only been twice but their coffee and pastries are amazing. I've tried a regular and banana cream latte (I believe this is seasonal so go try it) and the quality and taste of their coffee is so good. I recently took a friend and she said it was the best latte she's ever had. I've only had their donuts but my friend tried a cruffin (essentially a crossaint + muffin) and both are delicious. Kirshenbaum is definitely a must try if you're in the Westfield area.

The pastries, bread, and tea here are all outstanding. It's not often that a cafe has genuinely good loose leaf tea.

Delicious delights! Excellent service! This welcoming bakery prepared my online order for pick up for a Black Forest Cake perfectly. I called before placing the order and asked if they used kirschwasser (black cherry brandy) and while they didn't, the cake was amazing, deep with black cherry and chocolate flavor, and splendidly moist and sweet (not too sweet). Then their customizable KBC Cookie Collection of Salted Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, and Rocky Road was a hit with the entire family. It's also a great gift option when visiting friends. VERY RUDE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Asked if I could have a modification to my ice coffee (adding pumps of flavor and cold foam both which were displayed as options) The girls taking my order were very nice and said sure BUT when it was time for the boy to make the order he looked confused. He asked multiple times what I wanted and I explained multiple times (pumps of syrup and the cold foam they were advertising ) and he said flat out NO and rolled his eyes!!! Stating there's "no way to ring it up" and the foam is reserved for other drinks. He then turned around to complain at full volume to the adult behind him about us while we stood there and turned around to offer a plain coffee. I said forget it. I love visiting new coffee shops and cafes and it's a shame this wrong be on my rotation. Won't be back and have told multiple people about our experience. Avoid this not so nice place.

Updating my review because of the excellent customer service and chocolate croissant. I received a birthday coupon for here and it was 3 days past the deadline. I politely asked if they could honor it, fully expecting them to say no. The cashier brought out the manager and he did honor it no problem. Super nice of him, truly impressed and thankful. The chocolate croissant was delicious. Buttery. Flakey. Airy. Not messy. Good amount of chocolate. On par with ones I've had in France. I stand by the fact that I wasn't impressed with the cookies and they're very pricey but given the kindness and delicious croissant, I look forward to going back.

I had a lovely croissant from here. It was fresh with a nicely crisp exterior. They have a nice assortment of sweets ranging from cookies, croissants, to donuts and even a savory croissant. They offer free wifi and have plenty of seats available. I love the decor. It's fresh and relaxing. The folks behind the counter were very welcoming and friendly.

If you get a chance, definitely try the pop up Banh Mi, they are absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend!

Stopped by and bought a box of assorted baked items were reasonably priced but was hoping for more vegan and diary free option that was hyped about from the town's FB group. The croissant was just okay but better than other places in the area. there's plenty of seating inside and a couple outside.

Stopped here for breakfast this weekend and I am so glad I did! The food and sweets here is very fresh and tasty. The croissant was flaky and buttery and delicious and I also loved the carrot cake! They were constantly restocking the donuts and pastries as they were selling out quickly! Definitely a cute spot to grab a coffee and a piece of cake with a friend or to grab on the go!

Super immaculate and friendly vibe in the space. Nice seating. Food is stellar and delicious. Coffee is top shelf. The cookies are insanely great. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's the best coffee/baking shop in Morristown. The owner, Jeff is an exceedingly nice man. I will be back, probably this week!

Every time I come here I love it. The mud pie I devoured instead of lunch was sooooo good!

I've had key lime pie all over the country, including in the Florida Keys and at Steve's in Red Hook and the Kirshenbaum's is the BEST IVE EVER HAD. It's topped with meringue, not cream, and slightly charred in places for the most delicious burnt sugar flavor. The key lime part is perfectly tart and the crust? Just go. GO NOW. Everything I've had there has been great. The cookies are sweet - not like the classic Italian or bakery cookies, but more like a classic chocolate chip variety that you might make at home. Standouts are classic chocolate chip and the gluten free double chocolate. It's fudge and decadent. Savory hand pie had the flakiest crust. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Vibe is cool with nice tile and upholstered benches. They have Wi-Fi, but the music is a little loud. Good spot to work, but not if you need to take calls.

I went to the Morristown location on Schuyler place and it was fabulous! My favorites were the olive monkey bread with a touch of sea salt on top and the salted caramel cruffin. I'm in love go check them out! Made my rainy day a happy one!

Words escape me! Kirshenbaum is truly a Westfield institution--we are so lucky! Every big family or holiday event includes an order for Kirshenbaum and it's always a hit. The best host/hostess gifts: a key lime pie or a fresh sourdough loaf. Need a boss or coworker holiday present? Mail a box of cookies. You cannot go wrong. I go in at least once or twice a week and I've never had a bad experience. Love the staff, the food, the drinks, the environment--can't say enough!

Great local French inspired bakery. Everything is made on the premises. Staff is friendly and professional!

Great space very clean and modern and very welcoming. Staff are certain to greet as you come in! And they are patient as you make your way through all the yummy sweet and savory options. Everything looks as good as they taste. Excellent quality and care in all the baked goods. Our faves are the chocolate chocolate chip cookie (OMG is it a cookie or brownie goodness it's both!), chocolate cruffin is transcedant (croissant muffin lightly filled with a light creamy chocolate filling and lightly dusted with cinnamon sugar) and the carrot cake is incredibly moist with an unexpected brown sugar cream cheese icing you never knew you needed in your life. The handpies are wonderful riffs on high low with Taylor ham and an incredibly rich cheddar bechamel. This is a new locale fave for us. Giving Liv's a run for her money...if you don't know now you know!

Charming spot, perfect for a coffee and pastry before/during/after a downtown Westfield shopping spree. As always it can be a hit-or-miss deal finding parking, but c'mon, the public lots are a minute walk away.

The first time I came here, I asked a very pleasant staff what to recommend. He smiled first as if to let me know, I was in luck to try the cheesecake topped with a layer of a berry concoction on a great crust. It was indeed very very good. The recommendation was spot on! Three layers of perfect harmony. But the Poppy Seed Cake was also noteworthy. It had a lemon curd filling that wasn't too tart, nor the actual cake too sweet. I would order the whole cake next time for a birthday gift - maybe to me. But today, the last day of 2022, we tried the savory bunch: croissant sandwiches for a late breakfast and some good latte. And did I tell you, they have simple syrup? I love that option. We were happy with our choices. The cafe's aesthetic was kinda modern French and the workers, all welcoming. Westfield has earned itself, an impressive bakery worth visiting many times over. May your 2023 start with an excellent coffee and even better pastries and cookies and such.

Stopped by with my 3 year old for a mommy daughter date. Very cute spot plenty of seating and delicious treats had a cappuccino and a cookie and both were very good. Also saw they had a cake may be a good new spot to order for special occasions as well. Great addition to the neighborhood. We will be back for more.

This bakery is an excellent addition to Westfield. It is something unique and different from other bakeries in the area. The products are much more refined than other establishments and on par with deserts, which you would find at a celebrity chef's restaurant, minus the cost. I find the cookies delicious and better tasting than any other I have seen around town, and the service is impeccable. The bakery is inviting, clean, and nostalgic for old-school charm. My kids can't stop coming here. Thank you for choosing our town to lay down your roots!

Good cold brew and the best baked goods. There's a good mix of modern and traditional offerings. Think chocolate chip cookies, but also lavender cookies. Pain au chocolat but also salted caramel griffins. Their carrot cake is divine - it has the most delicious browned butter cream cheese frosting. Cold brew is chocolate-y and pairs well with their sweets. They have some savory items too but I haven't tried them yet. Service is friendly and attentive. Ambiance is bright and spacious; could be a bit cozier in the winter season but still very nice!

What a delight! I've been to this place 2x & it was great each time. I've gotten the breakfast sandwich. On first glance, they look in the small side. It was filling. The bread was a soft croissant like texture bacon, egg, & cheese with maybe a bit of bechamel sauce? Whatever it was, it brought the sandwich together nicely. We also got the cheesy jalapeño croissant. good flavor if your into the more cooked/lightly pickled kind of jalapeños. The pulled pork panini- yummms! Good flavor & nice carmelized onions. Sour dough is money. Lastly- we got cookies! In descending order: Salted chocolate chip cookie Strawberry shortcake cookie Snickerdoodle cookie Mint double chocolate cookie Vanilla rose cookie Hoping to see the double chocolate chip & brownie on the menu since they weren't there both times I've gone. We'll be back!

Just had their banh mi sandwich from their pop up event. It was delicious just like everything else they make! Everything here is worth a try, and you'll end up with a few staples that you'll want on a daily basis.

Outstanding bakery! Today I had some sweet (a blueberry/lemon muffin) and savory (the cheesy jalapeño croissant). Both were outstanding. The cheesy jalapeño croissant was SO GOOD. A great place to go on a rainy day like today. Plenty of seating in a cheerful, vibrant setting, with delicious coffee and as an added bonus, they always have good music playing on the sound system (Police and 80's music are often heard). You can't go wrong here!

Worlds best carrot cake hands down! It truly is the best carrot cake - rich and creamy frosting. The taste is just perfection! The key lime pie is too die for- highly recommend. Black Forest cake is beyond !!! Cookies and croissants are soft and flavourful! This place is amazing! The owners are the kindest people you will ever meet! They take tremendous pride in all that they do and offer to us customers. Go and eat every thing on the menu! LOL

Ordered the Carrot cake for Mother's Day lunch last Sunday. Phenomenal! Dense, moist, perfect amount of fruits and vegetables with an icing to die for.

Everything about this bakery cafe is wonderful. First and foremost are the pastries which are all beautifully made in-house. I've tried loads of them--brioche donuts, almond croissants, cookies, pecan pie, taylor ham pies--and there has not been one that didn't leave me wanting more, lots more. The variety from sweet to savory is fantastic, you can tell they thought carefully about what to offer. I find any excuse to stop by. The cafe itself is inviting with plenty of space and seating and is remarkably clean given how busy it can get. They don't mind if you plug in and spend a few hours working or just sitting around with friends. I can't recommend this place enough. So happy to have this addition to downtown!

Love the carrot cake from this bakery. Pastries are quite nice too and the staff is friendly. The decoration inside is really well done and thoughtfully designed. They serve boxwood coffee which I think is a great way for local businesses to support each other.

This place is really ridiculously good. Salted chocolate chip cookie was amazing, gooey and the right amount of chewy. Taylor ham pie was sooo flavorful with sage and cheese ....just an amazeballs combination. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious (and believe me, I've tried them alll.... Liv breads, bread stand, Ester's - right up there with the best of best in the area).

I really don't like giving negative reviews but this bakery needs to do better. I got the carrot cake, Black Forest cake and birthday trifle. The carrot cake was good but the trifle was bland/flavorless and the Black Forest was not something I can recommend.

I try to go weekly if not once every other week. The croissants and Olive Monkey Bread are my staples but I also grab what ever is new that week. Haven't been in a while but as soon as I'm home this weekend I will be back!
