The breakfast was good, but you probably want to order sides as the serving wasn't much. I did pancake, you get a single pancake, 2 stripes of bacon, and 1 egg. I ordered the Ramen Bowl, and it looks good but doesn't taste good. I didn't eat much of it, I wasn't informed Mushroom was included, I hate mushrooms! It ruined the meal for me, I told the server she said 'sorry'. The mimosa was delicious, I did strawberry mimosa. It's a good breakfast. the server was helpful, and I checked my table frequently even though it was a busy day. Kinda seem like they wanted me to leave, though, because I was being asked repeatedly if I'm done. I would have ordered a few more mimosas but it seems they kinda just wanted you out. Maybe it's better to go on a slow day.

First time there. Even with it being morning, it was very welcoming as you walked in. The manager, Jack, recommended the Fried Chicken Biscuit, I'm glad he did because...wow delicious, super filling, not heavy, crispy crust, juicy seasoned chicken and then the...Cajun sauce!!! You know it's good when you don't put it down at any point! Definitely, going to visit again!

So good had to get three items! The Caprese with grilled chic, the tuna melt special, and the southern charm chic were all delicious. Great wine selection too.

Google
Food was delicious. I had the angel oak power bowl and it hit the spot! Also the orange maple syrup was amazing, we bought a container to bring home with us. Our waiter Dylan was very friendly and made it a great experience.

Google
Always an excellent experience at the Kiss Cafe! They have perfected their breakfast repertoire to include only the greatest of menu items. I would recommend the chicken and gravy with fried chicken, but also the french toast is amazing too!

Private dining experience- We've always enjoyed our experiences at the restaurant and when our friends were coming in town to celebrate a big birthday, we had the pleasure of having Chef in our home to prepare an intimate dinner for 10. It was such a pleasant treat. He was kind and catered to the crowd of all ages (with many dietary restriction 🤪). The food was absolutely incredible. We went with a Mediterranean menu of chicken, lamb and fun sides. The lamb was out of this world and we were very happy to have leftovers for the next day. He is so incredibly talented and gracious! We can't wait to find an occasion to do this again! It's a great way to make a dinner party even more special (and delicious!). Plus he was kind enough to make sure to bring all of the platters and pans needed. It was a night (and meal) we won't soon forget. His wife, Leslie, was also lovely in helping make all of the arrangements. 10/10!

Yelp
On a day when they lost power --- due to a car hitting a utility pole nearby, they hit a HR. The people were so gracious & hospitable & calm . There were no lights .... but it didn't matter ---- at the end a nice young man came around & verbally went thru the check , using a calculator. Cool as cucumber.... Nice n sweet as honey . Everyone's food was spot on & we were all impressed !!!!

Yelp
What a great morning. I went in with the thought of getting a bagel to go and ended up staying for a grit bowl and iced coffee. I saddled up to the bar and had a great experience. I was in a hurry but they assured me it would not take long and sure enough within 5 to 10 minutes I was served and out 10 minutes later. Everyone was nice. The person at the bar, the manager, and anyone that was close by was very cordial. I felt very welcomed. And the grits with gruyere, sausage, and mushrooms were delightful. The iced coffee was not watered down and had a good robust taste. In and out in 20 minutes and very satisfied. I will be back.

Yelp
The food was so good and tasty. As soon as we walked in, could smell the good food. It was very welcoming and well lit with natural light. Service was great. 10/10 must try!

Yelp
Y'all! This place is the best! Service is impeccable (the mgr Jack even wished my FIL a birthday for the whole restaurant to hear -- so good). Food was really delicious. The avocado toast was second to none, the special with fried green tomatoes and PIMENTO CHEESE was divine. Love the vibe, the food and the service. Don't miss this place!

Andrea D.

Yelp
This cafe is incredible! Johns island needs places like the Kiss Cafe! The staff is amazing, efficient and friendly! They produce, meats, seafood and cheeses are consistently fresh, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully! Tim and Leslie should be bursting with pride over their restaurant! My family goes here at least 4 times per month for over the last year and we have NEVER had a bad meal, left hungry or had a bad experience with a server! It is always clean and fresh the minute you walk in the door. I also love that they are so pet friendly too! This place is the real deal and not just a pricey over processed bar food establishment. For the large portions you receive, the Kiss Cafe is worth every single dollar spent! Once you go their for the first time, you will return-it is that good!

Yelp
The three of us had a late brunch/lunch. My Mother-in-law had Bill's waffle with added fried shrimp. A small bite of each was certainly tasty. The waffle was thick, but soft. The shrimp were expertly fried and well but lightly seasoned. The missus had the egg salad toast, with a small arugula salad with in-house made vinaigrette dressing. The egg salad was fresh, with not too much mayonnaise which some restaurants unfortunately load up. Now, to my meal, the Triple up, with lots of choices. Two eggs, cooked as per my choice, which was my standard: fried hard. Bacon or sausage, so I went with the bacon which was a flattened Patty seemingly made in the house as the spices were good but on the first bite they were a bit overbearing but then as you cheated it became more amazing wonderful combination. With the choice of Pancakes or french toast I went with the ladder. The toast was Softly and that's not harshly done and lightly sprinkled with some powdered sugar. The maple syrup served on the side was the right amount to add the taste to the French toast but not have it swimming in syrup. Absolutely all was delicious. The Kiss Cafe, in the middle of the day, was pretty well crowded and thus our service was a bit delayed after her efficient waitress brought us our water which was our requested beverage, as she also was training a newer waitress. Yes, lots for her to do in the crowded, but pleasant Cafe. Thankfully, they had inside seating as it was a quite warm day to sit at one of the outside tables, even under their umbrellas. There is the Cafe side, which about a year ago added the bagel side (where they seated us three). Thus, there is obvious success in the food, the business, the atmosphere, and the location just off Maybank Highway on Johns Island.

Yelp
Always a good idea! French toast add chicken. Delicious! Their chicken is amazing and juicy! They make a stellar Bloody Mary and the service is always on point!

Chris N.

Yelp
My son recommended this cafe, and I found out why. Great food, very friendly service, and a great little patio that was perfection on a nice day. I had the Spicy Italiano sandwich for lunch. Salami, capicola, ham, provolone, tomato, arugula...all great but the kicker was the cherry pepper relish! Served and a terrific baguette, and with a side of possibly the best potato salad I've had. Will be back again next time we are in town without question.

Megan M.

Yelp
I ordered the trio breakfast with French toast, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food arrived promptly, and I was particularly impressed by the homemade sausage. It had a rich, flavorful taste and a thick, satisfying texture that felt like it was crafted in-house. The staff, including the servers, hostess, and general manager, were all exceptionally friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast menu offered an impressive variety of both sweet and savory options, which I really appreciated. The restaurant also provided plenty of seating choices, including a covered outdoor patio, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal in comfort.

Susan W.

Yelp
Had a great breakfast at this little cafe. The toast with homemade jam (blackberry, I think) was so good. My husband loved the homemade sausage. Our server, Krista, was so kind! She asked where we were from, and it turns out her aunt and I work for the same hospital in Terre Haute Indiana!

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
Today's service was exceptional during the storm. Thank you for being open as we were going a bit stir crazy from being cooped up in the house. Tried The New Yorker today which was excellent. Added in a side of avocado which was extremely fresh. I haven't had bacon in quite some time (possibly a year), but it was perfectly crisp and flavorful. An adorable place full of smiling, friendly faces. The pup will join us on our next trip.

Julie F.

Yelp
We tried their new location in downtown Charleston!! A grab and go version. Same amazing fresh bagels and baked goods. Sandwiches and salads. All in a historical Charleston building. Win-win!!

Kara W.

Yelp
The corned beef hash was SO good! I will have a hard time ordering anything else because I'd be afraid to miss out on it again. The menu said the corned beef was house made and it was amazing. Sitting outside was nice and much quieter. There were a lot of people there, but we were seated faster and got our food in an average amount of time. Would definitely go back. Side note, I've heard from a friend that the owners are very kind and generous to their employees and it's a great working environment. I love to support places that treat their employees well and I think it shows!

K A.

Yelp
This is one of the very best restaurants in the metro! Can't go wrong with anything, but we especially love the Angel Oak CrossFit bowl! Always high quality and great customer service. Long live KISS Cafe!

Barbara B.

Yelp
One of the BEST restaurants on Johns Island. Great menu! Great staff! Filled with a positive and congenial ambiance.

Tinea M.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my favorite places to stop and get brunch in Charleston. My favorite dish is their shrimp and grit bowl. It's savory, creamy, cheesy, fresh, and so fulfilling. This feels like Charleston in a bowl. The combination of the crunch and freshness from the vegetables with the full flavors from the spicy cream sauce comes together to make a very satisfying meal. This is the best shrimp and grits in Charleston in my opinion! Sad to be leaving this place behind when I move.

Marc A.

Yelp
My best friend brought me here and I'm forever grateful. We sat at the bar. And we were greeted immediately. I ordered green tea with honey and lemon. And when the waiter also the bar tender told me about the daily special I decided to step out my comfort zone and try something new. Best decision I ever made. It was delicious, the chicken was well seasoned ohhh I remember the taste. We came right before it got busy so everything came out fast. It was nice seating at the bar we got to see all the fancy drinks being made. Can't wait to come back when I visit.

Yelp
Opinion: As a Charleston resident for 3 years and a native to the low country for my first 17 (now 26), Kiss Cafe is one of the best restaurants I've been to. Service and setting while both admirable, their quality of care and consistency with their food is second to none. Fact: I had a dream about French toast the night before and arrived the next day at KISS hoping to fulfill that. To my delight a Tres Leches brioche french toast was on the specials menu. I ordered that with a side of bacon. The french toast's exterior was firm with a nice crisp, while the sweet cream tres leches gave the inside an almost stuffed effect. This is a change up from my favorite dish, their Kiss My Shrimp n' Grits, my vote for best in Charleston and one I can't recommend enough. The service has the stamp of southern hospitality only stymied by the fact that when a place is a bustling as this the waiters can and will have many mouths to feed. Be patient with them and they wont disappoint. The cafe itself is a smaller for its popularity but does have a nice outdoor seating area so if that's more to your liking definitely hop on that. This is one gem from the east coast I sadly can't bring with me to Orange County, CA.

Yelp
KISS Cafe in Crowne Commons off of Maybank on John's Island is happening and trendy!! You have the option to sit outside or inside. Hostess is very nice and welcoming. The Staff here is on point and always attentive to the guests, true testament to the the Chef Owner Tim Wickey work ethic! KISS has awesome food breakfast, brunch and lunch!! They close at 3 pm so timing is everything for a table. Love the Wickey Wickey Ramen Bowl with Beef, the Twisted Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken and Wickey Wickey Dressing, Nunzio Perfect French Dip and of course the Breakfast and Brunch are amazing!! Thank you KISS Cafe you are awesome and 5 Stars are well deserved!!

Evan H.

Yelp
Very pleasant experience having breakfast here. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Brian B.

Yelp
Love this little spot. Great atmosphere and food was spot on. Their bagels, these are the real deal and in my opinion just as good as the ones you get from NYC. Crunch on the outside, pillow fluffyness on the inside. Sat at the bar and people none stop kept coming in for bagels togo. This is now my go to spot for bagels. Drinks were on point and staff was more than friendly. Shout out to Nancy and her counter part (christina?) behind the bar this morning, they made for a more than wonderful expierence. Omelette was done perfectly and they had a special they were doing, a corned beef hash, that was more filling and delish. Didnt get a pic cause i decided to smash on it to quickly, sorry not sorry. You can tell everything is made from stratch at this place, and it shows in the quality of the product i saw coming out of the kitchen. Lastly the pastries, they had two, maybe even three display cases they couldnt keep stocked cause of people coming in and ordering them, everything in there looked tasty. Def a place you need to check out if you havent already.

Yelp
Kiss cafe is sooooo good! Went here on a Sunday morning during the brunch rush for a table for 2. We were told about a 25-35 minute wait but they take your number and call you. The area is walkable (we grabbed a coffee at Island Provisions) and the wait was way less than the estimated time! We started with a couple of cocktails which were delicious, (I recommend the raspberry gin fizz). They serve breakfast all day and lunch beginning at 11 and we both were feeling more like lunch and ordered the Bahn Mi which was arguably the best Bahn Mi I've had outside of NYC. I had the house made salt and vinegar chips as my side, but there is a variety of options to choose for your side! Our server could also tell that we were deep into conversations and she did such a great job of popping in and out to take our orders without trying to rush us! From the outside you may assume this is just a diner vibe place but I promise you it is so much more than that!

Kate B.

Yelp
Great time with great friends and fantastic food! Hats off to chef, every bite was delicious and cooked to perfection! Hash it up is highly recommended! We will be back!

Mary K.

Yelp
OMG! What can I say about this place other than FANTASTIC! I have been eating here since it opened a couple of years ago. Kiss has a wide variety of menu items from traditional eggs to Mexican wraps to yogurt parfaits. They recently added more space to include a bagel bar!!! There is usually a wait for seating on the weekends but it has some seating outside and you can order their mimosa of the day to make the wait tolerable. Don't miss this place!!!'

Emily V.

Yelp
Great experience here on Saturday! Definitely recommend arriving earlier as by the time we left around 10:45 there was alot of groups waiting. The inside was comfortable and clean. Even with full tables and bar, it never got too loud. Parking is pretty easy but not right in front due to the set up of the center. Our waitress was kind and efficient, not the most attentive but we never felt like we didn't have what we needed. Coffee was great! The New Yorker sandwich and grit bowl were both well executed. Anything with the house made sausage will be great!

Bill M.

Yelp
Located off of Maybank Hwy on Johns Island is Kiss Cafe. The first time we went for breakfast, the place was packed, and there was a 45-minute wait to be seated. We didn't stay. Went back a second time when it was a little less crowded. This is a full service restaurant that serves both breakfast and lunch. They deliver simple versions of breakfast and lunch with their own little twist. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious! On this visit, we had the authentic New York style bagels with egg, bacon, and cheese.... absolutely to die for. Don't let the crowd scare you away, the food will make you forget all about the time you had to wait. The service was friendly and fairly quick considering the crowd. The restaurant offers tables both inside and outside. I would recommend Kiss Cafe.

Jeff R.

Yelp
Was in the area, first time. Saw their reviews so I decided to give it a try. I started off with their Coastal Bloody Mary and wow was it good and spicy (had to order a small orange juice to wash that down but did not need to). And their coffee, always black for me, was just amazing. And to finish off my first time there, i ordered their 'Hash it Out' which was done to perfection. Service and staff were welcoming and warm, ambiance was clean and bright and will be back no doubt. What a way to start the day after a rough hangover morning.

Mandy H.

Yelp
Every time I go to KISS it's amazing. They consistently deliver delicious food, and the vibe is great too. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. My favorite is the banh mi sandwich. It is out of this world. The freshest baguette (crispy exterior and soft interior) flavorful meat, crisp, zinging veggies and a little kick. And their fries are, I believe, the best in all of Charleston: homemade, crispy, salty perfection. Their coffee is King Bean, and it's so good I've bought a bag to take home. They also serve King Bean cold brew. The bagels are legit. My New Jersey husband says so. He loves the Jersey Boy bagel sandwich. I could go on and on.

Simon G.

Yelp
I probably wouldn't have come if my kid didn't say he ate here recently and he liked it Brunch was pretty good--probably the best biscuit I've had since moving Charleston--and I'm somewhat a biscuit savant-- Ranchero not bad, wish the chips were chips instead of crispies or possibly just corn tortillas--tostada but pretty good Service was friendly and quick once we got going. They could have sold me another cocktail if the hostess had an order pad--wanted to order one while we were waiting along with a muffin for the hungry kid but never got the bartender to make eye contact or ask Bought a bag of day old bagels in the way out--5 stars actually taste and textures like real bagels--can't wait to go back for more bagels

Dillan K.

Yelp
This place was FANTASTIC for brunch. Couldn't have been better. Seriously, everything was perfect. Definitely coming back here to try other menu items. Perfect for John's Island.

Sonia P.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant, enjoying both the indoor and outdoor dining options. The ramen soup was delicious, and the French dip sandwich was an excellent choice. I absolutely loved the Capri sandwich and can't wait to return for another one. The pickles were delightfully spicy, adding a nice kick. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch!

Jay J.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a brunch spot and found KISS Cafe on Johns Island. The food was good, service was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Pamala J.

Yelp
Had a delicious breakfast at this cozy cafe. The staff were pleasant and provided excellent customer care. I ordered the Sloppy Kiss Grits bowl; husband ordered an omelette. Pleased to say that everything was well done!!

Ashley V.

Yelp
Visiting Charleston and found this restaurant on one of Charlestons brunch lists. Cafe is in a nice newly developed shopping center. First impression is that this is definitely a local cafe that welcomes those local to the island, if you're not local or don't appear local you'll definitely get some stares. One server refused to look us in the eye which made us feel uncomfortable but we still enjoyed our food. Fries were excellent.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I stopped in while on vacation with a group of friends headed to the Charleston Tea Garden, and this was one of the places we could find that had some vegetarian options (although I'm sad to report there's absolutely no vegan items without modifications--even the avocado toast has crema on it). There were two vegetarians in the group (myself and another friend) and also one gluten-free friend, and this was one of the few places we saw that looked like it could accommodate all of us. The chef actually came out and chatted with us, and it sounded like the kitchen is willing to make modifications to things for kids (we had a couple of young children with the group) and dietary restrictions, so that was a nice sign. When I mentioned I was from Hawaii originally, he told us about the hot sauce he apparently is now selling(?) in Hawaii, so that was pretty cool, as well. Our waitress was really friendly and chatted us up a bit, too, so they were really welcoming. I got the grits, because I felt like it was something I should try while I was in the South (I hadn't had any before taking this trip), and of the grits I tried while in the Charleston area, this was my favorite by far. I also got a biscuit on the side, because it's another thing I figured I should be sampling on this trip, and the biscuit was just okay--I imagine it is meant to be smothered in gravy, and had there been a vegetarian gravy available anywhere in town I absolutely would have tried biscuits this way, but alas, it was not meant to be. Most of the group liked their meals alright, but my husband wasn't all that into his Bulgogi Banh Mi (and he loves banh mi) and the friend that got the ramen also wasn't impressed, so there's that. All in all, a really nice option that is conveniently on the way to the Tea Garden (for us tourists) that can at least accommodate lacto-vegetarians and gluten-free folks, and it looks to be well-liked by the locals as well.

Stephan C.

Yelp
Stopped by for two breakfast sandwiches. Nothing like a good Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a good roll. Except these sandwiches were exceptional! Absolutely the best we've had. I love KISS!!

Mark M.

Yelp
This place rocks! I love their fresh food and the cinnamon rolls are bomb! Awesome food and management! Will return asap!

Kenny S.

Yelp
I've been a fan of KISS cafe from my first day in Charleston. When my wife and I were looking for a house our realtor brought us there for lunch and as the first food we ate on Johns island it set the tone for how happy we are living here. The food is amazing. I like the on the go burrito and my wife tends to get the grits... but as much as we love sitting down to eat here... their new bagels that they've been doing are next level. I've been searching for a good bagel since we moved here and they have nailed it. It's NY style with the perfect flavor. The dine in sitting is great and with their expansion for the bagels they have a bit more room which is great. I've never had bad service here and always leave satisfied.

Dee B.

Yelp
Everyone had a fabulous meal. Was great to see such a different menu with European type choices. Attentive service and a vibey atmosphere

Mercedes S.

Yelp
The food and drinks were fresh and creative. The staff were nice and attentive. Definitely coming back on our next vacation!

Misty C.

Yelp
AWFUL . We received undercooked sausage patty on one of our egg sandwiches. Also the food is absolutely horrible. Shocked at the cost and the quality of food. Do NOT recommend.

Paige A.

Yelp
Usually a wait but worth it, and you can get a coffee or drink on the cafe side while you wait. Service is great! Enjoyed salsa verde ranchero, eggs medium which was delicious but topped with Wickey's Wicked hot sauce was so good! We ordered the same dish but she got Turkey bacon instead. Both were good. This is a spicier dish, but if you like that then this is for you. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, spice was 10/10. Im not a fan of breakfast food but I'd order this dish over any lunch dish!

Robin A.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. Got the chance today! We went on a Sunday, early afternoon. Had a short wait. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. She was knowledgeable of the menu and was quick to give drink and food recommendations when asked. We all loved everything we ordered!

Victoria B.

Yelp
Consistently good breakfast and brunch on Johns Island. They source ingredients locally and always have a cheerful, friendly atmosphere. Staff is attentive and welcoming and never made me feel rushed. The menu is pretty extensive and they have something for everyone, whether you're craving breakfast or lunch! I appreciate the changing "special" mimosas - today was a Strawberry basil, which was great. For $23, you can get a carafe which equaled about 2.5 glasses each for 3 people. I love the fact that they bring out a postcard with your receipt, which prompts me to write a quick message to family letting them know I am thinking of them!

Jeffery B.

Yelp
The food was great! The pricing, meh. I ordered the Kiss burger, my partner ordered a special that was a chicken and scrambled egg wrap sandwich. Both were excellent, well cooked and flavorful. The Kiss burger was large, but so good I couldn't stop myself from finishing it. My partner also really enjoyed and raved about her wrap, although she spread it out over two meals, lol. Although the food was excellent I'm still going to complain about the pricing. $15 burger, but fries were an extra $4. So with tip you're talking a $25 burger and fries. I guess it's priced assuming that all Johns Islanders are new to Charleston and rolling in cash.

Rachel T.

Yelp
Great experience, fantastic service, and phenomenal tastes. Great environment, love that the owner oversees the great quality food, and happy helpful staff. I can't believe this was my first time here but pucker up and come kiss your hunger away! "Chef's kiss!"

Rachel G.

Yelp
We were about to turn left to get to James Island and have brunch there, but decided to turn right and stay on our island and give Kiss Cafe a shot. There was a much shorter wait than many popular places on James Island which was the first plus (still about 25 minutes during prime time on a Sunday morning). Their menu has a lot of really great options from breakfast sweet and savory to lunch.. both healthy and just plain delicious options as well. We couldn't decide what sweet plate to share and ultimately went with the waffle in the end. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious but the special was apple crisp french toast and after we ordered the table next to us had it delivered to them and it looked absolutely worth every penny. Anyway, I really enjoyed my kiss wrap (or something like that, I feel bad I don't remember it's name exactly). The homemade salsa that I got on the side was good, but not really necessary..they have great hot sauce on the table to use that I almost preferred over the salsa. The cherries on top: the chef walking around making sure not only the patrons were ok, but making sure that the front of the house was ok as well. I even noticed him seating a group at one point. After you pay your bill they bring you a hershey's kiss per person at the table. Truly a gem.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Been here a couple times and there has usually been a wait, but once you get to eat here you will realize why. A nice breakfast and lunch spot right in the heart of Johns Island, they serve up some really good food and have a large menu to please just about anyone. Their orange infused maple syrup that they serve with most of their sweeter fare is worth trying for sure. Will be back many times to hopefully get a bite of everything!

John M.

Yelp
Service by Jack top notch ate at bar had the Korean sandwich with cold slaw. 5 star with a kick
