The 38 Best Restaurants in Toronto, Canada | Eater

"At this combination Singaporean kopitiam and cheese shop, chef-owner Jeanne Chai offers a deep-dive taste of her homeland (earning fans like actress Michelle Yeoh along the way). Try the flaky, dip-ready roti prata with curry chicken. Or go for the Tingkat Trio, a multitiered lunchbox featuring an avalanche of flavorful appetizers, such as har cheong gai (chicken wings marinated in shrimp paste that plummet you into an umami utopia) and ngoh hiang (beancurd rolls stuffed with pork, shrimp, and water chestnuts permeated with the warmth of five spice powder). Must-try dish: This is one of award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh’s favorite local spots. Her go-to order is white chicken rice and laksa (without noodles), extra bean sprouts, and kueh salat." - Tiffany Leigh

It's one of the hardest places for me to rate. I was excited to find a Singaporean restaurant in Toronto and the food here was good. But the overall experience was really poor. The price of the dishes are too high and the service was pathetic. When we entered we asked to be seated at an empty table but away from the door but the host was like this is the only table you can sit. The other table was empty! You have to order at the counter, pick your own food, cutleries and water from a different counter and you still are expected to pay a tip. What service was actually provided! The waitress who never served our food kept interrupting to first take our trays and then our plates even while there was food left for us to finish. To top it off they charge a really high price and upcharge everything including sambal. We got the Char Kway Teow, Laksa and Black Carrot Cakes and everything tasted good.

It's a small local run restaurant run by humans. Don't come here if you can't respect the staff! The food and flavors are authentic to Singapore and Malaysia, and they use quality and imported ingredients. I would love it if some of the food came with more sauce as the rice portions are really generous!

We had lunch at Kiss My Pans today and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We ordered the appetizer trio, the chicken satay, the roasted chicken rice, and the char kway teow. Everything was absolutely incredible, but the standouts for me were the curried tofu and the spring roll-type item in the appetizer trio. The roasted chicken rice was so lovely and homey. The noodles had a perfect charred taste. The chicken satay was so tender and the sauce is came with was delicious. The owner came over to chat with us and tell us about the restaurant’s story, and we loved hearing about how much love and passion there is behind everything they make. What an absolute gem this place and staff are - we can’t wait to be back.

One word review - FANTASTIC! 🥰 This was my first time trying Singaporean food and boy was I not ready for it. I loved everything my friends and I tried - Beef Rendang, Chicken curry with Roti, Kueh Salat (Steamed Pandan), Savoury Carrot Cake (my absolute favourite) and Chicken Satay. Great ambience, great vibes, great food! 11/10 will try again! Note - They accept only debit or cash and it’s self serve.

Google
Unique experience. A really small and quite crowded place. It’s self-served. Not too many items on the menu but everything was savory and delicious. Food was special too. Definitely have not tasted similar foods in Toronto. The ventilation is really bad so beware. Lots of smokes coming from the kitchen.

One of my go-to spot whenever I’m craving comfort food that brings back memories of my teenage years in Singapore. The self-serve, canteen-style setup feels casual and familiar. Their menu is packed with Singaporean signatures, and every dish I’ve tried has been spot on. I absolutely love the Kopitiam Breakfast, Kaya Toast(butter toast) with runny eggs, the Kopi(coffee with condensed&evaporated milk ) is just the way I remember—strong and satisfying. My mom loves the Laksa, it is rich, fragrant, and full of flavor. My personal favorite has to be the black carrot cake with sambal sauce—perfectly savory and a bit spicy. And the Tingkat Trio is very tasty as well, the use of tingkat is very cute. Whether you’re familiar with Singaporean food or trying it for the first time, Kiss My Pans offers an authentic, nostalgic experience that’s hard to find in the city.

Google
came here for date night with my partner, first time trying singaporean food and it did not entirely disappoint. i’ve heard great things about this place and im glad to have crossed it off my bucket list. the service was good as the owners were kind, fast, and very helpful with recommendations. they make truly fantastic coffee and mostly yummy food. we got the chicken satay which was ok (kinda underdone, the peanut sauce made it better tho), beef rendang which was tender and sizeable (needed a bit more flavour and was kinda not that warm), char kway teow (which for the price, would’ve hoped they clean the shrimp for you, though the sauce was tasty as was the tofu, noodles were ok). coffee was a nice sweet treat on top but not enough condensed milk, was basically served near black (and ok price point). i like the self serve concept and it seems like they commit to reducing waste which is important. though it was quite warm inside on a hot day. we were the only ones for a while. patio was closed but then a special guest came in and they offered to open it for them. the deco is cool and the place is super chill. cleanliness was good inside but we got a to-go container which was dirty and found a strange chunk of something in our food that was hard like wood?? no idea but we decided not to complain and just move on. then i just read the reviews and noticed other people found stuff on their food as well. kinda thought for the price point that’s something that would be more reliable. since its counter serve hope these places don’t expect huge tips cause you never know what you’ll get.

Great little gem on College St. One of the most authentic Singaporean street foods outside Singapore. Very friendly atmosphere and fast and friendly service. Limited seating, so expect to wait, especially on the weekends .

Yelp
Came at 12:49 PM on a Saturday and there was no wait. Place filled up quickly, though. I tried the roti prata with curry chicken, which was amazing, and the beef rendang, which was also great. Kuih is a must, too!

Yelp
It began its journey as a humble cheese shop, but now, it proudly serves authentic Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine--Kiss My Pans. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the wonderfully amiable owner, who is not only exceptionally kind but also always eager for a friendly chat about the restaurant and their profound passion for the cuisine. It is quite evident that they take meticulous care in selecting the finest ingredients, replicating the authenticity and quality of dishes as they would be made in their homeland. This dedication and reverence for tradition are evident in every bite. My experience here was nothing short of fantastic, and I thoroughly relished the food. It is without a shadow of a doubt that I shall be returning to savour more of their menu.

Yelp
Went on a Monday afternoon and there was still a 30 plus minute wait! Wouldn't mind waiting considering how amazing the food is. The beef rendang was so tender and flavourful, my fav was the carrot cake! The chicken rice could have been more fragrant imo, as a Malaysian, this Singaporean place is pretty good lah! Loved the coffee shop (aka kopitiam) kind of ambiance, IYKYK !

Yelp
My sister and I LOVE Singporean food (it really is the best)! We were super excited to check out kiss my pans. We got the carrot cake and it is SOOOO DELICIOUS. It actually is not carrot cake but it is turnip and rice flour. It is the perfect blend of flavours and it is the perfect dish to get if your craving something a bit salty. We also got their Singaporean breakfast which was their runny eggs with kaya toast, and kopi. It was super delicious and I would recommend it. The service is amazing the couple that owns the restaurant are the sweetest. The restaurant itself is adorable and the restrooms are super clean! I will be back to try more from the menu!

Yelp
It was my buddy and i first time. We came for brunch and was blown away. He had the roast chicken with rice and I had the laksa. The bowl of laksa was bursting with flavor.. it actually punch me in the throat with how much flavor it was...so good. I tried a piece of my buddy roast chicken I kid you not the skin was so good!!!. We also shared the chicken skewers and they were amazing with the sauce that it was paired with. My overall experience this place is a gem the owners are super sweet and the few minutes I got to speak with them was the icing on the cake.

Yelp
This place is the BEST. The owners are super nice and the Singaporean brunch is unmatched in downtown Toronto! Get the Tingkat Trio, the Nasi Goreng, the Char Kway Teow, and two dessserts -- PERFECT brunch for 4 right there, along with a Milo dinosaur, a Ribena drink, and some kopi too. Love the vibe in here-- cheerful, unpretentious, and so colourful. They have a shop for you to buy chocolate, Singaporean merch, and cheese, too-- don't forget to go home with some wonderful cheese because these guys used to run a cheese shop, after all!

Yelp
Growing up in Asia made me miss some of the singaporean goodies I used to eat during my travels then. Finding this kopitiam was a little happy dance moment. The iced kopi and kaya toast tasted like how i remembered :) Though tasted different, the nasi lemak was good for when you miss nasi lemak. Their sambal is tasty and full of umami, and most importantly its got the proper spiciness! We ordered from the counter inside and paid before sitting down, typical of asian food stalls. The short counter interaction was pleasant, he helped us decide on some things we were unsure of patiently.

Yelp
Disappointing Experience at this Restaurant I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding an experience I had at this restaurant in December/January. On the day of my visit, I arrived 20 minutes before the restaurant opened and was waiting outside for my friend. The weather was very cold and windy. I received a text from my friend saying she would be late due to a streetcar issue. As I was shivering from the cold, I asked if I could wait inside until she arrived. Unfortunately, I was met with a very rude response. David, whom I spoke with, refused to let me wait inside and insisted that I remain outside with the other people, despite my explaining that I was cold. I was taken aback by the lack of empathy shown, especially from one of the owners, as I would have expected more understanding and consideration for a customer's well-being. I expressed my concerns to him but was met with cold indifference. When my friend arrived, I shared what had happened, and as a regular customer, she was equally shocked by the treatment I received. I made it clear to her that I would not be returning to the restaurant, and we decided to dine elsewhere. We ended up at a different restaurant where the staff was welcoming and accommodating. I am 64 years old, and after waiting outside in the cold, I unfortunately became sick with a cold and cough, which kept me in bed for several days. This could have been avoided if he had been more understanding and allowed me to wait inside. This experience has been very traumatizing for me, and I wanted to express how deeply disappointed I am in the treatment I received. As a result, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Yelp
Had a lovely time at Kiss My Pans new location! I had tried some of their food (beef rendang and savoury carrot cake) from past food festivals and pop-ups. I recently came at peak lunch hour on a Saturday, so a queue was expected. Luckily it was sunny out, and our table of 2 was fine waiting outside. (Shop and dining area is lean so there's no space to wait inside.) After a 30 min wait, we were called inside. Owners are very warm and welcoming. David helped explain how things worked (it was our first visit) and we quickly ordered at the counter and paid, and then sit at our table waiting for our hot meal. After you order, you get served baked goods first -- as that is served at the counter. Soon, my Kopi C with oat milk followed -- which was so smooth and delicious with my Kueh Bakar! Shortly, our hot food items were ready and we grabbed our trays from the counter. The beautiful Tingkat Trio was as tasty as it was gorgeous! Each dish (Har Cheong Gai, Ngoh Hiang, and Tauhu Goreng) are unique flavour bombs and such a delight of different taste and textures. We also got the Roasted Chicken Rice which was a comforting dish, reminicent of Hainanese Chicken for me but with crispy skin. I also took home a Kaya Croissant -- and it made a great part of my breakfast the next day. Really enjoyed all the food -- which is incredibly hard to find similar -- and was happy to support local small business. Looking forward to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
Kiss My Pans started out as a cheese shop with a few Singaporean food offered occasionally. There was so much support for their Singaporean food that it became regularly offered. Now that they have moved their operations to a new location with a fill kitchen in the back and lots of indoor seating, they can now offer an expanded menu every day! The owners, Jeanne and David, worked the front of the restaurant with excellent customer service. You place your order at the order counter, and they will bring out the food to your table. We were there on 2023-11-04 and ordered the following: 1. Kopi ($4.80) x 2. 2. Milo Dinasour with a heap of Milo Powder ($5.00). 3. Tingkat Trio ($25.00). This came with Ngoh Hiang, Har Cheong Gai, and Tauhu Goreng. 4. Hokkien Mee ($22.00) with a side of Sambal ($2.00). 5. Roti Prata with Curry Chicken ($24.00). Kopi is the southeast Asian adaptation of coffee. The main version of Kopi is made with Condensed Milk and Evaporated Milk. There are variations of this Kopi, offered at this restaurant: Kopi C, Kopi O, and Kopi O Kosong. We had the pure Kopi, and it was good. Milo is a favourite drink in Singapore, especially among children. I like it, since I'm a big kid at heart. The Tingkat Trio is like an appetizer meant for sharing. The top layer contains a sweet soya sauce for dipping with the Ngoh Hiang (in the second layer), which is shrimp, pork, and water chestnut rolls wrapped in bean curd skin. The third layer has Tauhu Goreng, which is deep tofu, bean sprout, and shredded cucumber, in a spicy peanut sauce. Goreng means fried. The fourth and bottom layer has the Har Cheong Gai, which is shrimp paste marinated crispy wings and legs. It was definitely crispy and tasty. The Curry Chicken had a very tasty curry surrounding the succulent chicken. You usually dip the Roti Prata into the curry. Roti Prata is the Singaporean name for Roti Canai in Malaysia. This is the Malay adaptation of the Indian Paratha Roti. There is a whole cabinet that contains glasses for you to get your own water. The restaurant is decorated with Singaporean memorabilia and items for sale. This location soft-opened on 2023-11-03 to 05. The grand opening will be on 2023-11-10. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible (there is one step at the entrance). There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, hence they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-363

Yelp
Kiss My Pans, located on College St at Manning Ave., is a cheese shop that is owned by a lovely couple, Jeanne and David. I believe Jeanne lived in Singapore for a while before she moved back to Toronto. The shop also has Singaporean brunch available from Sat to Mon in a fast casual atmosphere. The store also has a variety of unique items (mainly food related) that you can pick up as well. They also have boxes and platters you can preorder for pick up as well. I've heard of Kiss My Pans for the longest time now and was able to try some of their delicious Singaporean desserts at a food popup last year. However, I finally had the chance to visit to try their brunch. Upon entering you drawn to the space with many items. I ordered my food and drink at the counter and took a seat. I opted for the nasi lemak with otak otak (coconut rice, spicy coconut fish grilled in banana leaf, Sambal, spiced peanut, and ikan bills (anchovy), egg, and cucumber as well as a kopi. Decided to get a kueh salat as well for dessert. My food was made at a reasonable time and the nasi lemak was delicious! Definitely a hearty and filling dish that is spicy as well. I don't think there is any wrong way to eat this dish but the different flavor combinations and textures are unique. It is quite spicy so if you aren't able to handle spice it is better to likely order something else. The cup of kopi was warm and inviting. The kueh salat was a great finish to the meal. Overall, great food and super friendly service. The space and all the little things in the shop reminded me of my travels to Singapore. Definitely will be returning to try the kaya toast and eggs as well as the chicken satay!

Yelp
Amazing authentic food taste like back home which O can't find anywhere in Toronto!! Friendly owners Carrot cake is a must alone with the kopi!!!

Yelp
Premium price for Singaporean street food. What's this world come to?! Unfortunately the $24 char Kwai teow wasn't anything special. The $2 sambal was quite tasty though but they only gave us about 2 tablespoons full.

Yelp
I can't say I was super familiar with Kiss My Pans before eating there, but when I heard that it was considered a hot new restaurant, I was immediately intrigued. We showed up around 11:00 on a recent Saturday and the tiny place was already half full. (And by the time we left, there was a waiting list for tables, so show up early!) We figured we should probably share a few things, but choosing two items from a menu full of delicious-sounding items was no easy feat. (As an aside, the menu is infuriatingly not online, so I can't offer up an exact description of what we ate.) We wound up getting the Roasted Chicken Rice and the Char Kway Teow. The former is a solid interpretation of a classic Asian dish, although nothing about it blew me away. The latter is a tasty noodle dish that's enhanced by an included bowl of hot sauce. I'll be honest, I enjoyed the food but the price point ($68 including tax and tip!) is a little insane, considering you can get similar dishes at any number of Asian restaurants around the city and for a whole lot less. I'm thinking maybe we ordered poorly, but in our defense, when we asked the guy behind the counter what we should've gotten, he basically said everything on the menu is good. Oh well.

Yelp
We really enjoyed everything we ordered at Kiss My Pans, can't believe it took me this long to visit them! The laksa was flavouful, spicy and delicious. I love getting the tingkat trio, the tins are super cute and the food inside is a little surprise even though they tell you what's inside on the menu lol. I enjoyed both tofu dishes and the crispy chicken wings. The restaurant decor and vibe is reminiscent of Asia however it did feel cooler with a draft on a winter day. some others had their jackets on and I think they could have had the heat on higher. I gave them 4/ 5 stars for this reason and because for the prices you pay, I would have hoped it's full service rather than self-serve.

Yelp
Came here with a friend on a Sunday afternoon and we waited for about 10 minutes for a table. It's not a huge place, reminds me of a mom and pop shop, super cute with nice decorations, they also have a few tables outside when the weather is nice. We ordered the Kaya toast, chicken rice and kopi - all were super delicious! I especially loved the Kaya toast, so crispy with the perfect amount of filling.

Yelp
To think of Kiss My Pans as simply a cheese shop is to deprive it of its magic. Yes, you can get all sorts of cheese here, along with a whole lot of well-curated goodies like chocolate, jams, biscuits and other snacks. But the magic of this place isn't in the grocery. It's with how the lovely couple that runs it shares their well-traveled passion for food. Case in point is Sunday breakfast. Kiss My Pans offers a Singaporean style breakfast of kopi with eggs kaya toast (that kaya was chef's kiss sweet) and lontong (a rich and spicy soup with a whole lot of rice cakes, veggies and seafood). We had this along with a truffle brie toastie (oozing with cheese, will definitely come back for more), orange chocolate scone (properly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside), pineapple tart (delightfully strong flavour), and kueh salat (pandan flavoured treat). As you can see, Kiss My Pans brought us around the world in one meal. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This shop is run by a sweet couple, Jeanne and David. When you walk in, you can't help but admire everything from the interior design to the dishware. The business primarily offers Singaporean coffee (kopi), charcuterie platters, and a huge assortment of cheese. Around the shop, you will find local and imported goods such as chocolates, savoury spreads, cookies, preserved foods, drinks, hand-painted tingkats (tiffin carriers), and more. Food: I've been coming here for their secret menu dishes, so far I've tried the lontong, beef rendang, and nasi lemak with otak otak. I enjoy all the dishes and wouldn't mind coming back to try them again and again. It used to only be available on Sundays but now they've extended it to Saturday as well so you can enjoy what they cook up all weekend! I highly advise you to get there before 2:00 pm in case they sell out early. Atmosphere/service: They greet you in a friendly manner and feel free to ask them about anything they offer! Their presence and entire atmosphere/environment feel like a warm hug or cup of kopi.

Yelp
Full on Singaporean experience that made me feel like going on a trip to Singapore without actually flying over there. We went in with an empty stomach and we tried as much as food possible. It was snowing outside and Longtong soup ($19) was a perfect choice. Loved this different type of rice cake inside the soup and shrimp based lemongrass coconut soup was fantastic! Nice crunch from jicamma and loved big pieces of tofu in it. So comforting! And it was just perfectly spicy! So excited when I found out they had Beef rebdang ($24). Was totally worth it and I could tell how much work was put on to make this beatifully braised meat! To finish, we tried pineapple puff($4.50), famous kaya croissant ($3.90) and Kueh Pulut Tai Tai with durian jam ( $12.99) All desserts were solid good. Pineapple puff was packed with homemade pineapple paste, durian jam with lovely salted kaya rice cake dyed with blue pea flower was so fragrant! Shame on me that I did not order Kopi to go with all these dessert this time. Had leftover durian jam and enjoiyed with crackers later on. As much as the place itself is so cozy with all the cute decorations with nice character to it, both Jeanne and David's welcoming hospitality was amazing. Felt so comfortable to chat and hang out at the shop. Hopefully this weekend- popup will continue to be a regular service and cannot wait to try more food.

Yelp
Are you looking for something new to try? Give KMP a try...authentic Singaporean food served on the Sat, Sun and Mon. only. Came here today for the first time to try their Singaporean breakfast which is soft-cooked eggs in soya sauce with Kaya (coconut jam) toast and Kopi (Singapore coffee). We came here specifically for Kaya toast and we were not disappointed. It was really tasty and I really enjoyed the rich Singapore coffee blended with evaporated and condensed milk. We also got the fried carrot cake in black sweet and savoury flavour to finish off! We throughly enjoyed our breakfast here and we will definitely be back to try their other Singaporean dishes like Beef Rendang or Curry Chicken.

Yelp
Food was good but crazy expensive for Singaporean food. They do carry items that are hard to find in other shops such as the kueh as those are usually sold out at the other Singaporean or Malay shops I have checked out. My favourite dish is the kuay teow and they make their own sambal chilli which is really tasty as well! Service is just at the front, as the restaurant is an order at the front and seat yourself and clean up after yourself kind of place.

Yelp
Been seeing this one on Instagram and actress Michelle Yeow raves about this place as well, so we drove down to check it out, but unfortunately on a Saturday afternoon, it was quite busy with an hour + wait time, so we ordered take out instead, which was pretty good speed. It took around 15 mins to get our takeout order for a busy, not that many tables but still. Here was what we ordered: 2x Kopi (condense milk & evaporated milk-cold/hot)- $4.80 each - The hot one appears to taste a little different compared to the cold one. Cold one taste not strong at all and a bit watered down. Not sure what kind of beans they use, but I don't recall Kopi tasting like this in Singapore in general. 1x Carrot Cake (there is black & white version), we ordered black- $14 with sambal sauce- $2 extra. Its basically kind of like turnip chopped up in chunky pieces with egg, green onion, dark sauce of sort. The taste is good, but the sambal sauce has decent taste too, but for paying $2, you literally get a teaspoon portion in your takeout little container sauce. 1x Hor Fun- $22- Rice noodle with egg sauce, shrimp, chicken or pork slices, bok choy with a side of chopped jalapeno pickled sauce. I've had quite a bit of Hor Fun in other Malaysian cuisine like, and this one was a bit disappointing. Not saucy enough, and not sure why its bok choy used as well. Not the worst, but likely average. 1x Nasi Lemak- $18- rice, anchovies, peanuts, otak otak (fish paste of sort), half a boiled egg. This is the national dish from Malaysia in general. The taste is decent, but again, we've had better elsewhere. For the price point its okay but not something to get next time. 1x Beef Rendang- $24- Rice, beef, potato, half boiled egg. - Personally this one was their better dish for the price point. The beef was decently tender. Maybe some of these dishes will taste better if you eat in. In terms of ranking from best to worst, I'd say is Carrot Cake, Beef Rendang, Nasi Lemak, Hor Fun. I know this is Singaporean cuisine and not Malaysian and all, but these dishes are also available in Malaysian restaurant as well. Probably not the carrot cake though. Possibly may try again on other dishes in future.

Yelp
It's hard to find places in Toronto that serve food from Singapore and Malaysia... let me rephrase... that serve GOOD food. I'm so glad I was introduced to Kiss My Pans. It's a shop that sells cheese and goodies, and over the weekends, it serves food. My taste of Singapore is a breakfast of black carrot cake, washed down with the traditional kopi. The black carrot cake isn't actually made of carrots, more like white radish. There is a choice of white carrot cake that is sweet, and the black one is a combination of sweet and savory. They only serve it on Mondays as a side note. For those who can go on Mondays, lucky you because it tastes amazing, especially dipped in sambal. The kopi (coffee) tastes authentic like the ones in Singapore. Thankfully it's not watery. The owners were super nice and gave great recommendations. So glad they decided to sell more than just cheese!!. Last but not least, the shop is super nicely decorated, which allows you to take great pictures. I think my camera was reluctant to stop. Lol So, I am determined to go back for more from their menu.

Yelp
Dropped by on a rainy Saturday morning. The place was already full. The service was good, super friendly. The food overall was good but the price was a bit on the expensive side. Given what portion you get. The amount of laksa you get for the price is a bit small. The bread for the Kaya toast should be thinner. So that you can really taste the Kaya filling inside. Overall, it's not bad for the experience.

Yelp
TASTE. TASTE. TASTE. TASTE. TASTE. A Singaporean restaurant and a Cheese Boutique all in one. We ordered the Beef Rendang, Laksa, Roti Prata with Curry Chicken and the Singapore Breakfast Set. Each of these items is sooo tasty. This truly is Brunch at its Best! KMP keeps true to the Singaporean Spice levels... for those with a passion for spicy, please enjoy the Laksa! We also ordered the Kaya Croissant and a Kopi O Kosong (Black Coffee). We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This casual order-at-the-counter restaurant in it's understated interior packs in absurd amounts of flavor in every colorful dish. You must try the Tingkat Trio starter, Beef Rendang, and Char Kway Teow. Will be back!

Yelp
Found this cute cafe/cheese/charcuterie corner shop. I got a Kopi (butter roasted Singaporean coffee with condensed milk & evaporated milk). It was delicious with a strong coffee flavour and not overly sweet like viet coffees. The truffle Brie toast smelled heavenly and tasted yummy. It's a vegetarian sandwich with some pickles with a smear of some kind of cranberry type jam. This shop also sells bakery goods, charcuterie and charcuterie related items like jams, boards, and knives. The owners are super sweet and great to chat with.

Yelp
Friendly small operated store. Food is pretty average and small portions. Had the rendeng, chicken satay, roti prata, and nasi lemak for two people. Rendeng didn't separate the way I've had it. Probably could have used more sauce. Nasi lemak was pretty mid as well. The baked goods looked better than the cooked meals. Not too many Singapore restos in the city so I'd go if I were craving that. But there are better options in Markham if you are willing to drive.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a very quiant place that offered traditional coffee straight from Singapore. The shop owner took his time and explained how the coffee beans were roasted and what contributed to their special flavor. The cafe also offered specialty cheeses, baked goods, and panni style sandwiches along with other items that were for sale. I'm so glad we stumbled on a taste of Singapore.

Yelp
Amazing selection of cheese! Not only do they cater to corporate events, picnics and celebrations, but talk to the owners .. they are open to custom something for you A hidden gem that's opened not too long ago, it serves the Malaysian/ Singapore style of coffee...or Kopi as we call it. Other Malaysian style goodie I found here is the Bak Kwa, which is Malaysian jerky. Amongst other things which they curate and carry includes wine, condiments that goes with cheese platters and also interesting chips. Owners are friendly and great knowledge in recommending what you can try base on your taste buds liking.

Yelp
Lovely Singaporean breakfast on Sundays. I was most excited about Kaya toast (my favourite!) but the eggs ended up being my fave. The otah was fantastic too. I can't wait for more Singaporean treats being served by this darling shop! If I had to critique one small thing, it would be to slather on the Kaya and use thick crustless bread like they do in Singa. I'll be back!
