This cozy family-run spot has been around for over 100 years and still serves up great food at reasonable prices. The portions are big, the menu has tons of variety, and the service is super friendly, though parking and seating can be a bit tight. I loved my build-your-own omelette, the free muffins were amazing, and overall I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

Google
When you walk in it has a nice, warm, and cozy feeling. The waitresses are so nice, friendly, welcoming, and helpful on recommending breakfast! I had the biscuits and gravy! Mom had the huevos rancheros and my sister had the pancake plate! We picked at each others food 😋 everything tasted good! But the All Star of the bunch, was the homemade red chili!!! Omg!! Amazing!!! We will definitely be back! Thank you all 😊❤️

Google
This place has quickly become a favorite breakfast spot for my boyfriend and I. They have incredible, friendly people working there that make you feel super welcome. We came in with our dog and sat on their dog friendly patio and he was treated like royalty. They had an amazing dog menu and a lot of the staff came out to greet him and he loved all of the attention. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing. We had a blast and they even took photos of us and Oliver. He loved his breakfast there and so did we (especially the muffin basket). The best place, such an amazing experience!

Google
2.5 stars. We were seated immediately and they brought our drinks and took our order fairly quick. The salad and sandwiches were good. But, from there it went downhill. The service was very slow in bringing our food. The amount of time to process our payment was much too long. We got 4 pieces of carrot cake to go. When we got home, we discovered the cake is burnt. Overall, despite the 4.5 ratings on this place, it was an extreme disappointment. Wecwill not be back any time soon.

Google
Wonderful little restaurant, with a very calm, pleasing atmosphere. The restaurant has a nice southern feel with a very pleasant staff. Maggie was my server and she was awesome!!! 18 years she’s been here and does not disappoint. The menu is what I would describe as southern comfort food. They have everything from biscuits and gravy to corned beef hash. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant if you’re in the Glendale area and remember tell em I sent you.

Google
Amazing place and they serve fresh muffins with every meal. And this place is for people who enjoy food! So, if you don’t mind your food touching so you can stop your stomach from touching then you will love this place. It’s like a breakfast cottage on the inside. Love the vibe!

Tianna

Google
Each breakfast option comes with a little basket of mini muffins, which I think is such a unique and fun idea to have in a very quaint and cute restaurant. The zucchini muffins were my favourite but they were all tasty and the food itself was all delicious. The staff were very friendly even though it was very busy and I enjoyed the friendly and homey atmosphere.

Google
The vibe is nice. I liked that they had different flavors of lemonade, specifically the lavender. Portions are okay, we enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. They put a little basket of muffins on your table before the food comes out.

Yelp
One of my favorite breakfast spots when I lived in Arizona! Love supporting family-run local spots! Can't believe this spot has been around for more than a century! Parking can be difficult since the lot isn't that big and it can be packed especially on the weekends! Service is very friendly and welcoming. Pretty small and not too many tables inside but there is outdoor seating! There are a lot of options and variety to choose from, such as sandwiches, Benedicts, pancakes, egg dishes and everything is very reasonably priced (mostly under $20!) and portions are very generous! I ordered the build-your-own omelette and there were plenty of ingredients to choose from for $16.40! The omelette was so delicious, flavorful, and stuffed with ingredients! The potatoes could have been crispier and felt a little dry but they weren't too bad. I would say it's 8/10 My friend got the egg Benedict ($18.50) and he said it was very yummy and the egg was perfectly poached! There is also complimentary homemade muffins that are sooo good! Super fluffy and soft! Would totally recommend this spot!

Yelp
A cozy rustic diner with an admittedly slightly run-down appearance. The food was delicious and served in good portions. The mini muffin basket was a particularly noteworthy signature item.

Yelp
This restaurant is uniquely flavored with homemade freshness you can taste. We have been regulars for many years. It has an antique store decor & most of the decor is for sale. The service is amazing. Gwen was our server today and boy is she on top of things. Kudos to her for being amazing at her job. We also love Susan she's great too. The flavored coffee of the day changes so make sure you give it a taste. Pie's are available for pick up with one days notice. The mini muffins are the best. They also have different flavors so check availability. May this family owned restaurant continue to service the community for many more years to come. Thank you

Yelp
Dined-6.15.24: Been here a couple of times as I love breakfast & this is local spot that hits the spot! My cousin had a turkey sandwich that came w/ a side of potato salad and I had the New Orleans Cajun Omelete. It's a hearty serving, I definitely was able to take 1/2 of it home as well as some of the taters. Staff are always so friendly & when my toast came out extra crispy our server mentioned it and immediately worked on getting me another order of toast. Food is good, made to order & they also sell homemade baked goods, jam & doggie treats. Been here before & will definitely be back!

Yelp
What an uplifting down home experience. This space has been welcoming restaurant with home style cooking for several years. We were graciously welcomed with a flavored coffee or regular coffee- both were very good. Food was well prepared and served warm and again with smiles. Service was excellent. I am a fan of supporting small businesses especially when the service and food is great!!
google avatar

Yelp
Like a tiny more friendly cracker barrel. The ambiance is comfortable and welcoming. The food was excellent and cooked to order. Portion size was generous but not overwhelming. Our server was very attentive and kind to the kids. This will definitely become a regular place for our family.

Yelp
Kiss the cook is amazing. Home style cooking great customer service, small and quaint. The food omg you have to just take my lack of words as a good thing. The Cajun omelette will keep you coming back. I've tried over 3/4 of the menu so far and zero complaints over the years I've been going there. Please please please support this business and at least try it for yourself. If you don't mind please leave me a comment on how you feel about it. And no i have no affiliation to them whatsoever im just a fan.......

Yelp
Have passed by the restaurant for years and decided to try it for an early weekday breakfast. Place has a country antique vib. Ordered eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon. They provide a basket with a variety of small baked muffins. Service was good, coffee was hot and breakfast was tasty. The bacon was thick cut and a pleasant surprise. Good choice for breakfast and a step back in time.

Yelp
Good food and service. We arrived just before the midmorning rush. I had oatmeal with a side of bacon. The oatmeal was freshly cooked just right and hot. Husband had the eggs Benedict which he rated very good. The zucchini muffins were a tasty treat.

Yelp
First time there!! Great service and food!! We'll be back for sure! Felt very taken care of by our server.

Yelp
I have absolutely no idea how this place got over 2000 5 star reviews. Had to be people desperate for food. I ordered a three cheese, grilled cheese sandwich and vegetable soup. My sandwich had one slice of cheese that was hardly big enough to cover the bread slice and I am damn certain that my soup came out of a Campbell's soup can. No, I do not recommend this place .

Yelp
Omg! The best old school comfort food breakfast place in my opinion..... food was excellent from the fluffiest omelette down to the homemade muffins.... Really cozy mom and pop restaurant. Service was on point the lady who served us was very sweet , polite and very professional we loved her positive vibe. This is our go to for breakfast from now on!

LOIS L.

Yelp
Love the mini muffins while waiting for breakfast to be served. Hubby loved his fluffy omelet & potatoes but I can't say the same for my French toast. It was so mushy & the maple syrup was tasteless.. they do offer 100% pure maple syrup for $2.50 extra..I guess I should've gone with that.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Second time here! As much as I wanted to try their meatloaf that was on special, I went there for their seafood omelet. But instead of the cheese sauce that comes with, I asked for hollandaise sauce. It was sooooo good! Service always good! And it is such a cute comfy place to go and enjoy great homemade food! Thank You!

Yelp
Kiss the Cook is a Glendale institution in the finest sense of the word. In addition to what I consider excellent meals, KtC is s visual salute to Glendale's rural past plus trinkets, collectibles, big lollipops and home made dog cookies are for sale. The women at KtC bring their own brand of Country Funk, from, "What plate do I get this meal?" to the muffinette paper and empty creamer/sweetener bucket on each table. I cannot leave out the Kiss every customer gets before they leave. If you've not been you msy ask, "What's a muffinette? It's several varieties of one ounce muffins served for breakfast or bought and taken home. Unlike the large, delicious sugar shedding cinnamon rolls one can order for a meal. My Dad's Mom left Dalhart, Texas; Clayton, New Mexico; and Ponca City, Oklahoma vowing never to get worked to death ss s rancher or farmer's wife. But she cooked like the ranch eomsn she was raised to be. Whether a bowl of oatmeal. eggs taters, toast and crisp bacon, muffinettes enjoyed with coffee from a clear glass cup with clouds of half and half drifting from coffee surface to cup bottom, I am very comfortable with the food here. We eat here nearly every week. And bring family.

Yelp
Kiss the Cook has such ‍ yummy food! The decor is cute. The decaf coffee was good. Our waitress and other staff was great!

Yelp
Great service and the muffins they give you were tasty. Omelette was good but not great. Support small businesses

Yelp
I met my brother and his friends for breakfast. It has a quaint diner feel. I ordered huevos rancheros with poached eggs. This is usually a fairly easy dish - not for the cook. The eggs were more hard-boiled, the tortilla was super thin and stuck to the plate, and the "rancheros" sauce was a bad salsa with chopped raw onions. Needless to say, I didn't finish my food. I may have had better luck ordering the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs - simple diner fare. I'm afraid I will never know.

Yelp
First time here today and Breakfast was excellent! Our party of five all happy with food which was hot and tasty and brought out very promptly. Muffins were hot and delicious! The service excellent, everyone very friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
One of the cutest places I've seen in a while. Talk about History! Denise mt friend thank you so much for your help. I came in for breakfast on Friday at about 10am. Lets just say it was busy and I seen why. I was sat about 10 minutes later. The waitress Ms. Denise was busy but on it. She took very good care of me. I decided on French Toast w/ Sausage. i enjoyed the french toast not a fan of the sausage at all but the bakers basket of muffins made up for that. The baker basket comes with 3 muffins. Deliciously dangerous. I had to take a dozen of the Zucchini Muffins. I am actually looking forward to my return. Many things on the menu I have to try' Great Job!

Yelp
Been coming to this place for years. Usually pretty consistent and above average. Not this time... I would say the the place was 50% full and we stood at the resister for what seemed like 10 minutes before we were seated. Then after we ordered, another long wait. Asked for a coffee refill twice and eventually it came. I'm still giving us a four-star, because normally this place is better. I don't know what happened this day.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Ordered the Breakfast Combo Plate...The Food made me want to Kiss The Cook, Deliciously Perfect! Chris served us...She was Super Sweet! Restaurant felt welcoming and cozy. Very Cute inside! If I had to change anything...what they serve their coffee in. Tall fancy glass mugs, needs to be short cute cozy mugs. Non matching like the plates...Love That! But all in all, PERFECT!

Yelp
**A Diamond In The Rough** This is hands down one of the cutest and coziest restaurants. Me and my family were driving through and all starving, and saw this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside and definitely in need of some TLC to the building, but we stopped anyways, and I'm so glad we did. Our waitress was Suzanne, and she could not have been anymore hospitable or attentive. She's so friendly and kind and have great suggestions on the menu. We ordered the chicken fajita omelette, corn beef hash, and blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast breakfasts not a single item we ate was less than fantastic. Everything cooked fantastically and seasoned to perfection. I forgot to mention while you're waiting for your food they bring out a basket of fresh and warm mini muffins and real butter to snack on. They're so good, and tasty we ordered a basket to go for later. I really don't know what was better here, the breakfast we ordered, the muffins while waiting, or Suzanne being so friendly, funny, and welcoming.

Yelp
One of the last standing diners. Customer service is ridiculously amazing. Feels like your home

Yelp
All you would expect a cozy, home cookin' breakfast specialty joint...full menu, fresh ingredients, tasty coffee and friendly service. I visit AZ for Spring Training and stop in several time in the week for a great meal. ‍

Yelp
I always like Kiss the Cook, until they got carried away with the pricing. I have not been back since I saw they were written up on health issues

Yelp
While across town on our way to another errand we decided to stop for breakfast here. Located in a very old part of town; the parking lot is large and east to access. Once inside you're asked to wait. We got there just before a huge rush which was great so we were seated right away. I'm not sure how to describe the decor besides farmhouse type with mismatched chairs and semi outdated lol. Kinda homey feel, but definitely old. The service was great the entire visit and we never had to ask for anything. They bring homemade muffins to the table with the blueberry being my favorite. Coffee was decent and we had our meals quickly. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my husband your basic eggs, potatoes and such. He liked to try biscuits and gravy every where we go and he said it was just ok. My eggs Benedict were decent, but my egg was poached too long and no runny yolk at all when cut into. I definitely did not care for the potatoes. There was no seasoning, no color...nothing, but cut up and boiled potato's it felt like. Please bring some hash browns or other options please. Anyway prices were decent, but probably wouldn't come again.

Yelp
A nice comfortable breakfast place that has great food. I had the scratch-made pancakes which were fluffy and very tasty. I grew up eating mom's pancakes and these were pretty comparable. The side of bacon was perfectly prepared as well which made for an enjoyable meal. My companion had an omelette and fresh fruit which was enjoyed. The service was very good and the folks were very nice. This place is a nice casual place to get a good meal in a relaxed environment.

Yelp
Went on Father's Day & it was our first visit. Wasn't crowded, but got there within an hour after opening. Did get busier as.the day went on. The ambiance is a country style. Food & the service was fair.

Yelp
Love everything about this little cafe! Mini muffins, breakfast muffins, the decor and even the plates! Great food, & friendly staff!

Corina S.

Yelp
Sunday 12/1/24 My husband order an egg omelette with green chili and salsa, the egg and salsa were dry, he had to ask for gravy. I ordered a medium well done hamburger, It was well done, Only the muffins were satisfactory.

Yelp
We ordered delivery for breakfast yesterday and it turned out pretty darn good!! We both ordered "Build-Your-Own" omelets, and they were really good...big and fluffy! Hubby loved the potatoes (I tasted them and they were seasoned very well, but I'm not a potato person, so I gave mine to him) and enjoyed both our orders...LOL! I decided to try their homemade biscuits, which were warm, soft and tender. I liked them a lot. The meal came with their mini muffins and they were very good. All in all, our delivered breakfast was delicious!

John L S.

Yelp
This place isn't much to look at from the outside. One of us had lunch, the other breakfast. Both were tasty, and the portions were not overblown. The prices were also reasonable. The restaurant itself has a coutry motif. Not overly cluttered, but there were lots of knick-knacks on the walls. The tables were large enough for the plates. That seems to be a problem for a lot of restaurants lately. In general, the waitstaff was older and very friendly. They knew all the regulars and seemed to be enjoying their banter. It felt like a meal in your grandmother's house. One nice surprise was the freshly baked mini-muffins. They come with most of the breakfast dishes. They serve them in a basket with butter. When I broke mine open, it was warm enough for steam to rise from it. I believe mine were bran muffins, but they may have more choises. They were delicious, and you can order a dozen of them for takeout for about $5.00! They also sell some "Kiss the Cook" items, like mugs and aprons. Overall, it really was a nice spot. Today, they did not have the outdoor seating area open, but they do have an area where you can sit outside. We will return.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible little breakfast joint. I've had multiple items on the menu but the last few times I've gone I had to order the Cajun Benedict- it's literally my new favorite breakfast item, I can't say no! The servers are incredibly kind as well.

Yelp
Home made and delicious food and bakery, we loved it a lot of food in our plates thank you!

Yelp
I wish I could say I went to this restaurant for a more happier occasion. Because this restaurant had a really cool vibe going on in it. We had a death in the family and we all just needed to get out of the house and just decompress. My brother in law suggested this restaurant. He told me that I would love it. Well.... I absolutely fell in love with this restaurant. They went above and beyond with my last minute big party. Our waitress was a rockstar! She handled our party of 25 flawlessly! This restaurant was so cute! Everything was mismatch... chairs, silverware, plates. It had a cute little vibe to it. The food was amazing. The prices were good! The staff was very sympathetic towards our situation. They made us feel welcome. I would definitely come back here. A big thank you from our family.

Mark H.

Yelp
Breakfast was superb, service was excellent, all in all a great experience. Would return again when on the west side. Thank you.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by great food and adorable decor. Food was delicious! Vintage homemade things for sale and cozy cabin feel decor. Food was generous in portion and yummy.
google avatar

Nonie B.

Yelp
The best part of "kiss the Cook" is there mini muffins. They come if you order a meal. Unfortunately, my review isn't that great. I am a biscuit and gravy person. When someone says they're fresh made biscuits and gravy, I want to believe them. In this case the biscuits were what seem to be microwaved, not warm, and the gravy tasted out of a can.
google avatar

Nanci G.

Yelp
Just love this restaurant. It is so cute and old fashioned inside. Yummy foods and you can purchase their homemade salsa and some other items like jelly. My hubby and I went on 9/18 to have a great home cooked meal. Sigh I think I gave up cooking for lent... maybe for the next few years .
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
To start off, the atmosphere is so cute, similar to Cracker Barrel but family owned. They sell antiques and everything in the restaurant has a grandma style which is cute. The prices are unbeatable. I had a full breakfast with: 2 eggs (medium), biscuits and gravy, bacon, potatoes and muffins with butter for 8$. They're known for their muffins and they're delicious especially with their butter. Everything was delicious, I even got extra gravy. My husband got pancakes and the corn beef hash. Other two at the table also loved their meal. Overall it was delicious and a home cooked meal. They had maple coffee, which everyone loved as well. Definitely a go to breakfast place in Glendale!!
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I've always seen and heard so much from family and friends about this restaurant so we finally decided to stop by for breakfast. We were quickly greeted and seated. They have a big selection but one thing personally didn't like, is they don't offer a kids menu/options. I'm my opinion if say it's catered to adults so if you have little ones, skip this restaurant. Overall our food was okay. Nothing stood out and it was just average breakfast. But I will say that they have such friendly service! Overall I'd give it another try with just my husband if I'm ever in the area again!
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
Being so far south from us we don't get here too often but when we do, we can always expect the goodness of the staff and the owners, Mr and Mrs Hagadorn. The food is always delightful with so many options..
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
Was in search of the perfect road stop breakfast with all the home style feels and this lace was just that! This is definitely a local favorite and I can see why! The staff is so kind and the portions don't disappoint. Although known for their potatoes I don't think I'll be upgrading them again, was just potatoes. From their little muffins to their "kiss" at the end of the meal this place was awesome!
google avatar

Johnny G.

Yelp
Solid service and solid food. The cinnamon pecan roll was an amazing start...but wait...they brought out mini-muffins too! Coffee was nice, but came out in clear glasses and was very light. Good taste, but I enjoy a more bold coffee (not as watered down). I had eggs Benedict and it was standard...English muffin, ham, and poached egg with hollandaise sauce. Standard, but standard is good. Good flavor, fresh sauce and toasty bread. Potatoes had a nice spice to them and burned on the edges...love that burned spice taste. All in all, if you find yourself in Glendale, Kiss the Cook is a solid little place for breakfast. I wanna try a pie!!
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast with my son. This is a quaint place, very homey feeling. Wait staff was pleasant... food was fresh and flavorful. Would go back if I was in the area again.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Know the code!!!!!! Sign in yourself for seating!(Upon Arrival) Everyone was so nice, even the patrons lol Food was fabulous and came quickly, considering how busy they were! Fresh hot mini muffins (free) Good coffee Big tasty omelette Great Benedict Eggs Lovely Server GET THERE EARLY! There's really no place to wait for your table I'll definitely be back and I'd order the same thing again....... 2 of my questions I ask when I've tried a new place..... I'm kissing the cook!!!!

Yelp
Wonderful place for food, service, ambiance. They are small so they get crowded easy but the servers are great and you never feel rushed.
